We are ambassadors for Christ. Barbara Rainey says that means: \u201cWhen people see us, they should be reminded of who He is and what matters to Him.\u201d\u00a0 \n\t\t\t<\/p>\n\t\t\t<p>\n\t\t\t\t<strong>Barbara: <\/strong>Jesus talked to anybody and everybody. He welcomed everybody. His love was available for everybody. And as His ambassadors, we need to share His love with anyone. I think it\u2019s a great exercise for families to teach your kids to reach out to their friends in school and to invite their friends to come to your home so that you can know who your kids are hanging out with in school; but also, so that you can have an influence on those kids and, maybe, give them a different experience\u2014\n\t\t\t<\/p>\n\t\t\t<p>\n\t\t\t\t<strong>Dennis: <\/strong>Yes; right. \n\t\t\t<\/p>\n\t\t\t<p>\n\t\t\t\t<strong>Barbara: <\/strong>\u2014on what home is supposed to be like because theirs may be very different. \n\t\t\t<\/p>\n\t\t\t<p>\n\t\t\t\t<strong>Bob: <\/strong>This is <em>FamilyLife Today<\/em> for Friday, August 26<sup>th<\/sup>. I\u2019m actually not surprised to see the Reese\u2019s<sup>\u00ae<\/sup> Peanut Butter cup in the position that it\u2019s in on the poll on our website at FamilyLifeToday.com\u2014this is the candy bar poll we\u2019ve had going on this week. \n\t\t\t<\/p>\n\t\t\t<p>\n\t\t\t\t<strong>Dennis: <\/strong>That is no way connected to the content of the broadcast. \n\t\t\t<\/p>\n\t\t\t<p>\n\t\t\t\t<strong>Bob: <\/strong>No. \n\t\t\t<\/p>\n\t\t\t<p>\n\t\t\t\t<strong>Dennis: <\/strong>Although the broadcast this week has been sweet because Barbara is with us. \n\t\t\t<\/p>\n\t\t\t<p>\n\t\t\t\t<strong>Bob: <\/strong>That\u2019s true. I\u2019d like to just acknowledge that\u2014\n\t\t\t<\/p>\n\t\t\t<p>\n\t\t\t\t<br><strong>Dennis: <\/strong>How\u2019s that?\u00a0 Come on, Bob\u2014\n\t\t\t<\/p>\n\t\t\t<p>\n\t\t\t\t<strong>Bob: <\/strong>\u2014there\u2019s no connection\u2014\n\t\t\t<\/p>\n\t\t\t<p>\n\t\t\t\t<strong>Dennis: <\/strong>\u2014acknowledge that may be worth one point. Come on. \n\t\t\t<\/p>\n\t\t\t<p>\n\t\t\t\t<br><strong>Bob: <\/strong>There\u2019s no connection.\n\t\t\t<\/p>\n\t\t\t<p>\n\t\t\t\t<strong>Dennis: <\/strong>One point.\n\t\t\t<\/p>\n\t\t\t<p>\n\t\t\t\t<strong>Bob: I<\/strong>t was you who brought this up at the beginning of the week. [Laughter] So, the fact that it\u2019s completely random should not surprise listeners at all. \n\t\t\t<\/p>\n\t\t\t<p>\n\t\t\t\t<strong>2:00<\/strong>\n\t\t\t<\/p>\n\t\t\t<p>\n\t\t\t\t<strong>\u00a0<\/strong>\n\t\t\t<\/p>\n\t\t\t<p>\n\t\t\t\tBut do you think of a Reese\u2019s Peanut Butter cup as a candy bar? See, I don\u2019t think of it as a candy bar. \n\t\t\t<\/p>\n\t\t\t<p>\n\t\t\t\t<strong>Barbara: <\/strong>It\u2019s not. It\u2019s a candy, but it\u2019s not bar shaped. \n\t\t\t<\/p>\n\t\t\t<p>\n\t\t\t\t<strong>Bob: <\/strong>It\u2019s not a bar. So, it\u2019s not\u2014we put it up there as one of the choices, but I\u2019m just a little surprised because I don\u2019t think of it as a candy bar. \n\t\t\t<\/p>\n\t\t\t<p>\n\t\t\t\t<strong>Barbara:<\/strong> I don\u2019t either. \n\t\t\t<\/p>\n\t\t\t<p>\n\t\t\t\t<strong>Dennis: <\/strong>It was not a random choice, either. We were talking about how you can be on mission as an ambassador. We\u2019ve been talking this week, with Barbara\u2014welcome back, Sweetheart. [Laughter]\n\t\t\t<\/p>\n\t\t\t<p>\n\t\t\t\t<strong>Bob: <\/strong>At last, we see the connection\u2014we see the connection between being on mission as an ambassador\u2014\n\t\t\t<\/p>\n\t\t\t<p>\n\t\t\t\t<strong>Dennis: <\/strong>I\u2019m about to get there. \n\t\t\t<\/p>\n\t\t\t<p>\n\t\t\t\t<strong>Bob: <\/strong>\u2014and a candy bar. \n\t\t\t<\/p>\n\t\t\t<p>\n\t\t\t\t<strong>Dennis: <\/strong>An ambassador knows whom he serves. \n\t\t\t<\/p>\n\t\t\t<p>\n\t\t\t\t<strong>Bob: <\/strong>Yes. \n\t\t\t<\/p>\n\t\t\t<p>\n\t\t\t\t<strong>Dennis: <\/strong>He knows and executes the <em>mission<\/em> of the one he serves.\u00a0 \n\t\t\t<\/p>\n\t\t\t<p>\n\t\t\t\t<strong>Bob: <\/strong>Right. \n\t\t\t<\/p>\n\t\t\t<p>\n\t\t\t\t<br><strong>Dennis: <\/strong>Third\u2014\n\t\t\t<\/p>\n\t\t\t<p>\n\t\t\t\t<strong>Bob: <\/strong>Waiting for the candy bar part. \n\t\t\t<\/p>\n\t\t\t<p>\n\t\t\t\t<strong>Dennis: <\/strong>\u2014he operates out of an embassy; and in this case, we\u2019re challenging people to think about making their home an embassy. \n\t\t\t<\/p>\n\t\t\t<p>\n\t\t\t\t<strong>Bob: <\/strong>Right. \n\t\t\t<\/p>\n\t\t\t<p>\n\t\t\t\t<strong>Dennis: <\/strong>And we\u2019ve got a little sign\u2014a stainless steel sign\u2014that says, \u201cEmbassy of the King.\u201d\u00a0 And finally, I think a good ambassador, operating out of his embassy, needs to train his kids to know how to operate in the world. \n\t\t\t<\/p>\n\t\t\t<p>\n\t\t\t\t<strong>3:00<\/strong>\n\t\t\t<\/p>\n\t\t\t<p>\n\t\t\t\t<strong>\u00a0<\/strong>\n\t\t\t<\/p>\n\t\t\t<p>\n\t\t\t\t<strong>Bob: <\/strong>Here\u2019s the connection to candy bars\u2014\u00a0 \n\t\t\t<\/p>\n\t\t\t<p>\n\t\t\t\t<strong>Dennis: <\/strong>And Barbara\u2014\n\t\t\t<\/p>\n\t\t\t<p>\n\t\t\t\t<strong>Bob: <\/strong>\u2014kids.\n\t\t\t<\/p>\n\t\t\t<p>\n\t\t\t\t<strong>Barbara: <\/strong>Kids. [Laughter]\u00a0 \n\t\t\t<\/p>\n\t\t\t<p>\n\t\t\t\t<strong>Dennis: <\/strong>Kids\u2014yes; that\u2019s it!\u00a0 [Laughter]\u00a0 We took the kids to Russia on a Josh McDowell trip to go visit orphanages. \n\t\t\t<\/p>\n\t\t\t<p>\n\t\t\t\t<strong>Barbara: <\/strong>We did. \n\t\t\t<\/p>\n\t\t\t<p>\n\t\t\t\t<strong>Dennis: <\/strong>And the way Barbara survived was a candy bar made only in Russia\u2014it\u2019s not exported, I\u2019m sure. [Laughter]\u00a0 She survived all week because the sandwich, or whatever it was, had lettuce-thin meat. \n\t\t\t<\/p>\n\t\t\t<p>\n\t\t\t\t<strong>Bob: <\/strong>The supplies were meager. \n\t\t\t<\/p>\n\t\t\t<p>\n\t\t\t\t<strong>Dennis: <\/strong>They were. It was survivable only because of the candy bar. Thus\u2014\n\t\t\t<\/p>\n\t\t\t<p>\n\t\t\t\t<strong>Bob: <\/strong>Okay. It took a long way to get there, but that\u2019s how we got to the candy bars. \n\t\t\t<\/p>\n\t\t\t<p>\n\t\t\t\t<strong>Dennis: <\/strong>\u2014thus, the straw poll. It\u2019s okay. \n\t\t\t<\/p>\n\t\t\t<p>\n\t\t\t\t<strong>Bob: <\/strong>Our focus, though, this week has been rethinking about our lives\u2014thinking about being ambassadors \/ thinking about our homes being embassies for the Kingdom of heaven. Barbara\u2014as Dennis said, you\u2019ve created a plaque to put at the front door of your home. \n\t\t\t<\/p>\n\t\t\t<p>\n\t\t\t\t<strong>4:00<\/strong>\n\t\t\t<\/p>\n\t\t\t<p>\n\t\t\t\t<strong>\u00a0<\/strong>\n\t\t\t<\/p>\n\t\t\t<p>\n\t\t\t\tYou\u2019ve created a wall-hanging and a framed print that can hang inside the home that all remind you that the home is an embassy for the kingdom of heaven. \n\t\t\t<\/p>\n\t\t\t<p>\n\t\t\t\tIf you were starting over again, as a mom \/ as a young wife\u2014you had little kids in the home and you wanted to reinforce this idea\u2014what might you do differently than what you did when you were raising your kids?\u00a0 \n\t\t\t<\/p>\n\t\t\t<p>\n\t\t\t\t<strong>Barbara: <\/strong>Wow!\u00a0 \n\t\t\t<\/p>\n\t\t\t<p>\n\t\t\t\t<strong>Dennis: <\/strong>Well, you know what I would do?\u00a0 \n\t\t\t<\/p>\n\t\t\t<p>\n\t\t\t\t<strong>Barbara: <\/strong>What would you do?\u00a0 \n\t\t\t<\/p>\n\t\t\t<p>\n\t\t\t\t<strong>Dennis: <\/strong>I\u2019d go to FamilyLifeToday.com and I would play a little video that is on there\u2014how long is the video of\u2014\n\t\t\t<\/p>\n\t\t\t<p>\n\t\t\t\t<strong>Barbara: <\/strong>It\u2019s about a five- to six-minute video. \n\t\t\t<\/p>\n\t\t\t<p>\n\t\t\t\t<strong>Dennis: <\/strong>\u2014a follower of Christ, from a former Communist country, who turned his home into an embassy. And the reason we\u2019re kind of speaking generically in pronouns is because the creator of this asked that we not refer to the person\u2019s name or gender identity; but you\u2019ll soon find out who it is by watching the video. \n\t\t\t<\/p>\n\t\t\t<p>\n\t\t\t\tBut I\u2019d have the kids watch this video, Bob. \n\t\t\t<\/p>\n\t\t\t<p>\n\t\t\t\t<strong>5:00<\/strong>\n\t\t\t<\/p>\n\t\t\t<p>\n\t\t\t\t<strong>\u00a0<\/strong>\n\t\t\t<\/p>\n\t\t\t<p>\n\t\t\t\tThe person involved is an older person, but this person is on mission. This person is an ambassador operating out of an embassy. \n\t\t\t<\/p>\n\t\t\t<p>\n\t\t\t\t<strong>Barbara: <\/strong>And this person talks about how important it is that his home reflects the King that he serves. So, he has some things around his house that remind him of whom he serves and whom he belongs to and remind those who come to visit whom he belongs to and whom his King and Lord is. \n\t\t\t<\/p>\n\t\t\t<p>\n\t\t\t\t<strong>Dennis: <\/strong>And if you are wondering, kind of, where the concept for this comes from, Deuteronomy 6 is a great place to go. It talks about having a sign on the doorpost of your house\u2014a banner that is proclaiming whose you are and who you are \/ your identity. It was all about helping the nation of Israel, as they moved into a foreign country, to know how to establish their spiritual identity and who their God was as they took up residence there. Not a bad idea for us, as followers of Christ, today. \n\t\t\t<\/p>\n\t\t\t<p>\n\t\t\t\t<strong>6:00<\/strong>\n\t\t\t<\/p>\n\t\t\t<p>\n\t\t\t\t<strong>Bob: <\/strong>So, I\u2019m thinking about, again, how we remind ourselves that we are living as citizens of a different kingdom with different values and make that a part of what our home reflects. I have a friend \/ we have mutual friends; and if you go into their kitchen, painted on the wall in the kitchen is Proverbs 14:4, which says, \u201cWhere there are no oxen, the manger is clean.\u201d\u00a0 [Laughter]\u00a0 \n\t\t\t<\/p>\n\t\t\t<p>\n\t\t\t\t<strong>Barbara: <\/strong>That\u2019s painted in the kitchen?\u00a0 \n\t\t\t<\/p>\n\t\t\t<p>\n\t\t\t\t<strong>Bob: <\/strong>It\u2019s painted in the kitchen. \n\t\t\t<\/p>\n\t\t\t<p>\n\t\t\t\t<strong>Barbara: <\/strong>I was thinking it was going to be something about <em>food<\/em>\u2014I was waiting for that. \n\t\t\t<\/p>\n\t\t\t<p>\n\t\t\t\t<strong>Bob: <\/strong>See, I thought so too. I walked into the kitchen, and I saw, \u201cWhere there are no oxen, the manger is clean.\u201d\u00a0 And then, I looked at the kitchen and said: \u201cOh!\u00a0 I understand.\u201d\u00a0 [Laughter]\u00a0 \n\t\t\t<\/p>\n\t\t\t<p>\n\t\t\t\t<strong>Barbara: <\/strong>Lots of little kids!\u00a0 \n\t\t\t<\/p>\n\t\t\t<p>\n\t\t\t\t<strong>Bob: <\/strong>\u201cIf we didn\u2019t have all these kids, the kitchen would be spotless,\u201d is kind of what this is saying. \n\t\t\t<\/p>\n\t\t\t<p>\n\t\t\t\tPart of what you do\u2014if you want your home to reflect embassy values\u2014Dennis, you talked about the American embassy in foreign countries would have pictures of presidents or might have founding documents up. \n\t\t\t<\/p>\n\t\t\t<p>\n\t\t\t\t<strong>7:00<\/strong>\n\t\t\t<\/p>\n\t\t\t<p>\n\t\t\t\t<strong>\u00a0<\/strong>\n\t\t\t<\/p>\n\t\t\t<p>\n\t\t\t\tYou put Scripture on the walls. \n\t\t\t<\/p>\n\t\t\t<p>\n\t\t\t\t<strong>Barbara: <\/strong>You do. \n\t\t\t<\/p>\n\t\t\t<p>\n\t\t\t\t<strong>Bob: <\/strong>You put pictures on the walls that might represent some of our spiritual forefathers. You do things to create a visual environment that keeps pointing us to whose home this really is; right?\u00a0 \n\t\t\t<\/p>\n\t\t\t<p>\n\t\t\t\t<strong>Barbara: <\/strong>Yes; and that\u2019s part of the reason I created these visuals for us to put in our home because I think seeing one of these signs that says, \u201cEmbassy of the King\u201d on my front door or next to my front door every time I walk in\u2014and I don\u2019t have one up yet, but I\u2019m going to put it up soon\u2014but I think that would be good for my soul, when I walk in my front door, to remember that I\u2019m walking into the embassy of the King. It\u2019s a refuge \/ it\u2019s a place of rest\u2014when I\u2019ve been out in foreign land, so to speak, and I\u2019ve been on mission for Him\u2014to come home and to know that where I\u2019m walking into belongs to my King, and that it\u2019s His, and that He is in charge here, not me. \n\t\t\t<\/p>\n\t\t\t<p>\n\t\t\t\t<strong>Dennis: <\/strong>I\u2019m going to screw this stainless steel, \u201cEmbassy of the King\u201d\u2014what do you call this?\u00a0 \n\t\t\t<\/p>\n\t\t\t<p>\n\t\t\t\t<strong>8:00<\/strong>\n\t\t\t<\/p>\n\t\t\t<p>\n\t\t\t\t<strong>\u00a0<\/strong>\n\t\t\t<\/p>\n\t\t\t<p>\n\t\t\t\tIt\u2019s not a sign. \n\t\t\t<\/p>\n\t\t\t<p>\n\t\t\t\t<strong>Barbara: <\/strong>I call it a plaque. \n\t\t\t<\/p>\n\t\t\t<p>\n\t\t\t\t<strong>Dennis: <\/strong>I\u2019m going to screw this into our bricks of the front of our house. I\u2019m actually picturing, as I come home from work, I\u2019m going to reach over and touch that. Or as I leave in the morning and leave home, I\u2019m going to touch it as I leave\u2014just as a reminder and start thinking about that. What if your kids did that every day as you would raise them?\u00a0 \n\t\t\t<\/p>\n\t\t\t<p>\n\t\t\t\tNow, we tried to do that as we took our kids to school every day. We would\u2014on the way to school, there was a certain spot on the road, where we\u2019d start praying. We would pray for our children\u2014that they would represent Christ, they would know whose they are, and who they are, and that they would represent Him well. \n\t\t\t<\/p>\n\t\t\t<p>\n\t\t\t\tThat\u2019s what we\u2019re about, as parents\u2014we have to make our faith our kids\u2019 faith\u2014and how to help them begin to live on the basis of that faith in enemy territory. \n\t\t\t<\/p>\n\t\t\t<p>\n\t\t\t\t<strong>Bob: <\/strong>Part of making your home an embassy involves hospitality; doesn\u2019t it?\u00a0 \n\t\t\t<\/p>\n\t\t\t<p>\n\t\t\t\t<strong>9:00<\/strong>\n\t\t\t<\/p>\n\t\t\t<p>\n\t\t\t\t<strong>Barbara: <\/strong>Yes. I think it does involve hospitality because, when you think about an embassy in another country\u2014if you went to the American Embassy in a foreign land, you would be welcomed, you would be greeted warmly, you would be invited in\u2014and that\u2019s the essence of hospitality. You might go to the American Embassy because you had a need, you had a problem that you need their help solving, or you might just go visit because you wanted to see the embassy. \n\t\t\t<\/p>\n\t\t\t<p>\n\t\t\t\tI think our homes, as we represent Christ, can do the same thing. When our kids are in school and they want to bring friends home, we want those children, when they come into our home, to feel welcomed and received\u2014that this is a warm, good environment to be in. I think hospitality is really important because we\u2019re commanded to be hospitable in the Bible, and I think that\u2019s one way that we communicate who Jesus is. \n\t\t\t<\/p>\n\t\t\t<p>\n\t\t\t\tJesus talked to anybody and everybody. He welcomed everybody. His love was available for everybody. \n\t\t\t<\/p>\n\t\t\t<p>\n\t\t\t\t<strong>10:00<\/strong>\n\t\t\t<\/p>\n\t\t\t<p>\n\t\t\t\t<strong>\u00a0<\/strong>\n\t\t\t<\/p>\n\t\t\t<p>\n\t\t\t\tAs His ambassadors, we need to share His love with anyone. I think it\u2019s a great exercise for families to teach your kids to reach out to their friends in school and to invite their friends to come to your home so that you can know who your kids are hanging out with in school; but also, so that you can have an influence on those kids and, maybe, give them a different experience\u2014\n\t\t\t<\/p>\n\t\t\t<p>\n\t\t\t\t<strong>Dennis: <\/strong>Yes; right. \n\t\t\t<\/p>\n\t\t\t<p>\n\t\t\t\t<strong>Barbara: <\/strong>\u2014of what home is supposed to be like because theirs may be very different. \n\t\t\t<\/p>\n\t\t\t<p>\n\t\t\t\t<strong>Dennis: <\/strong>I think families, that are followers of Christ, need to invite other kids in. You never know, as Barbara said, where they\u2019re coming from. Maybe, they\u2019ve never seen an intact family; maybe, they\u2019ve never seen a husband and a wife being nice to each other\/ loving each other. Now, a lot of our kids\u2019 friends did because a lot of our kids\u2019 friends had families that were intact; but I don\u2019t think you can underestimate the impact your marriage and family can have on other teenagers as you raise yours. \n\t\t\t<\/p>\n\t\t\t<p>\n\t\t\t\t<strong>Bob: <\/strong>Barbara, you\u2019ve heard the interview that Dennis and I did with Rosaria Butterfield. \n\t\t\t<\/p>\n\t\t\t<p>\n\t\t\t\t<strong>11:00<\/strong>\n\t\t\t<\/p>\n\t\t\t<p>\n\t\t\t\t<strong>\u00a0<\/strong>\n\t\t\t<\/p>\n\t\t\t<p>\n\t\t\t\t<strong>Barbara: <\/strong>Yes. \n\t\t\t<\/p>\n\t\t\t<p>\n\t\t\t\t<strong>Bob: <\/strong>Powerful story of a woman whose life was transformed, ultimately, because of hospitality. \n\t\t\t<\/p>\n\t\t\t<p>\n\t\t\t\t<strong>Barbara: <\/strong>That\u2019s right; yes. \n\t\t\t<\/p>\n\t\t\t<p>\n\t\t\t\t<strong>Bob: <\/strong>And I think, as I\u2019ve reflected on her story\u2014and again, if our listeners have not heard the story of a feminist, lesbian professor at Syracuse University, who became a follower of Christ and, now, is a pastor\u2019s wife and a mother raising four children, you can go to FamilyLifeToday.com to hear that story. But the thing that has stood out for me was how she got an invitation to an embassy. \n\t\t\t<\/p>\n\t\t\t<p>\n\t\t\t\t<strong>Barbara: <\/strong>She did. \n\t\t\t<\/p>\n\t\t\t<p>\n\t\t\t\t<strong>Bob: <\/strong>A pastor and his wife said, \u201cWe\u2019d like to have you over for dinner.\u201d\u00a0 \n\t\t\t<\/p>\n\t\t\t<p>\n\t\t\t\t<br><strong>Barbara: <\/strong>Yes. She came; they had a great conversation, and it was the crack in the door. \n\t\t\t<\/p>\n\t\t\t<p>\n\t\t\t\t<strong>Dennis: <\/strong>And she kept coming. \n\t\t\t<\/p>\n\t\t\t<p>\n\t\t\t\t<strong>Barbara: <\/strong>And she kept coming. \n\t\t\t<\/p>\n\t\t\t<p>\n\t\t\t\t<strong>Dennis: <\/strong>And then, she started visiting the church. \n\t\t\t<\/p>\n\t\t\t<p>\n\t\t\t\t<br><strong>Bob: <\/strong>And you remember\u2014when she first came, she came with a little edge because she told us\u2014she said, \u201cI brought a bottle of wine, just wanting to see if that pastor was going to freak out that there was alcohol. \u201c [Laughter] \n\t\t\t<\/p>\n\t\t\t<p>\n\t\t\t\t<strong>12:00<\/strong>\n\t\t\t<\/p>\n\t\t\t<p>\n\t\t\t\t<strong>\u00a0<\/strong>\n\t\t\t<\/p>\n\t\t\t<p>\n\t\t\t\tAnd then, she said, \u201cAnd I went out and got my best butch haircut so that I would be properly\u2014\n\t\t\t<\/p>\n\t\t\t<p>\n\t\t\t\t<strong>Dennis: <\/strong>I\u2019d forgotten about that. \n\t\t\t<\/p>\n\t\t\t<p>\n\t\t\t\t<strong>Bob: <\/strong>Yes. She said\u2014\n\t\t\t<\/p>\n\t\t\t<p>\n\t\t\t\t<strong>Barbara: <\/strong>\u2014\u201cproperly antagonistic.\u201d\u00a0 [Laughter]\n\t\t\t<\/p>\n\t\t\t<p>\n\t\t\t\t<strong>Bob: <\/strong>Yes. And she said, \u201cAnd it didn\u2019t throw them.\u201d\u00a0 I think, if we remember that we\u2019re ambassadors, and if we remember that this is the embassy, then, when people from the foreign country come visit the embassy and they look like foreigners, it shouldn\u2019t surprise us!\u00a0 \n\t\t\t<\/p>\n\t\t\t<p>\n\t\t\t\t<strong>Barbara: <\/strong>No; it shouldn\u2019t surprise us. Well, and if you think about it, that\u2019s how Jesus received people. He was <em>never<\/em> shocked or offended or put off by people. He was in touch with all kinds of people. I think we get way too narrow, and selfish, and all kinds of things\u2014but that\u2019s the right way to do it [as Jesus did]\u2014is to invite the foreigners in who live around the embassy and welcome them in the name of Christ. \n\t\t\t<\/p>\n\t\t\t<p>\n\t\t\t\t<strong>Bob: <\/strong>We were having a conversation recently with somebody who was talking about wanting to be more intentional about how we share our faith in a culture that increasingly wants to hear less and less about it. \n\t\t\t<\/p>\n\t\t\t<p>\n\t\t\t\t<strong>13:00<\/strong>\n\t\t\t<\/p>\n\t\t\t<p>\n\t\t\t\t<strong>\u00a0<\/strong>\n\t\t\t<\/p>\n\t\t\t<p>\n\t\t\t\tThey were talking with people who aren\u2019t followers of Christ, and they were talking about lost people. And this person said: \u201cWait a second. Is that\u2014are you talking about me?\u2014that I\u2019m a lost person?\u201d because he said, \u201cI don\u2019t think I\u2019m lost,\u201d and these other folks went\u2014I guess we better stop and think, \u201cIf you are an ambassador, living in a foreign country, you should be missionally-aware\u2014\n\t\t\t<\/p>\n\t\t\t<p>\n\t\t\t\t<strong>Dennis: <\/strong>\u2014\u201cof your language.\u201d\u00a0 \n\t\t\t<\/p>\n\t\t\t<p>\n\t\t\t\t<strong>Bob: <\/strong>\u2014\u201cof your language, your actions, and your dress.\u201d\u00a0 \n\t\t\t<\/p>\n\t\t\t<p>\n\t\t\t\t<strong>Dennis: <\/strong>\u2014\u201cattitudes.\u201d\u00a0 \n\t\t\t<\/p>\n\t\t\t<p>\n\t\t\t\t<strong>Bob: <\/strong>This is, I think, what Paul was talking about when he said, \u201cI\u2019ve become all things to all people in order that I might win some.\u201d\u00a0 You are aware: \u201cI don\u2019t live in the kingdom anymore. I live in a place where they don\u2019t value what the people in the kingdom value, but I must be respectful of these people\u201d\u2014\n\t\t\t<\/p>\n\t\t\t<p>\n\t\t\t\t<strong>Barbara: <\/strong>That\u2019s right; yes. \n\t\t\t<\/p>\n\t\t\t<p>\n\t\t\t\t<strong>Bob: <\/strong>\u2014\u201cas I share my homeland and my assignment with them.\u201d\u00a0 <br><br><strong>Dennis: <\/strong>Barbara and I chose to put our kids in public school, primarily, because God led us to; but secondarily, we wanted to train our kids in how to reach out to their friends who weren\u2019t necessarily all going to be believers as they were. \n\t\t\t<\/p>\n\t\t\t<p>\n\t\t\t\t<strong>14:00<\/strong>\n\t\t\t<\/p>\n\t\t\t<p>\n\t\t\t\t<strong>\u00a0<\/strong>\n\t\t\t<\/p>\n\t\t\t<p>\n\t\t\t\tWe wanted them to kind of grow up in a hostile country. \n\t\t\t<\/p>\n\t\t\t<p>\n\t\t\t\t<strong>Barbara: <\/strong>Well, we wanted them to go as ambassadors. We did not use that term with them, but we wanted them to learn to reach out to kids who didn\u2019t know Christ. We also wanted them to learn how to relate to kids from all social backgrounds, different kinds of economic backgrounds, and different races because we are called to reach all kinds of people. We wanted them to have that experience of relating to kids from all kinds of different backgrounds. \n\t\t\t<\/p>\n\t\t\t<p>\n\t\t\t\tAnd that\u2019s a part of being an ambassador\u2014is learning who your audience is, learning who these people are, learning their customs, learning the way they talk\u2014not so that you can assimilate and become like them\u2014but so that you can have a hearing and they can hear from you. \n\t\t\t<\/p>\n\t\t\t<p>\n\t\t\t\t<strong>Bob: <\/strong>I\u2019m glad you brought that up because one of the dangers that we face, as ambassadors\u2014\n\t\t\t<\/p>\n\t\t\t<p>\n\t\t\t\t<strong>15:00<\/strong>\n\t\t\t<\/p>\n\t\t\t<p>\n\t\t\t\t<strong>\u00a0<\/strong>\n\t\t\t<\/p>\n\t\t\t<p>\n\t\t\t\t\u2014let\u2019s face it\u2014we live in a pretty nice place. I\u2019m thinking: \u201cIf I was the ambassador to Fiji, after a few years of living in Fiji, you might start to think, \u2018Fiji\u2019s pretty nice. [Laughter] In fact, it\u2019s\u2014\n\t\t\t<\/p>\n\t\t\t<p>\n\t\t\t\t<strong>Dennis: <\/strong>So, when you were saying you live in a nice place, you\u2019re not talking about your home being nicer than anybody else\u2019s.\u00a0\u00a0 \n\t\t\t<\/p>\n\t\t\t<p>\n\t\t\t\t<strong>Bob: <\/strong>No!\u00a0 \n\t\t\t<\/p>\n\t\t\t<p>\n\t\t\t\t<strong>Dennis: <\/strong>You\u2019re talking about America. \n\t\t\t<\/p>\n\t\t\t<p>\n\t\t\t\t<strong>Bob: <\/strong>I\u2019m saying we live in the <em>world<\/em>\u2014this is a pretty nice world we live in. \n\t\t\t<\/p>\n\t\t\t<p>\n\t\t\t\t<strong>Barbara: <\/strong>Yes. \n\t\t\t<\/p>\n\t\t\t<p>\n\t\t\t\t<strong>Bob: <\/strong>And God\u2019s given us good things here, and you can fall in love with the world. \n\t\t\t<\/p>\n\t\t\t<p>\n\t\t\t\t<strong>Dennis: <\/strong>We had dinner the other night with a couple, Tim and Kathy Bush. They are from Washington, and they shared their story of how they were lost. I mean, they\u2019d spent thousands of dollars on marriage counselors. They had been all over the place trying to find solutions for their marriage. They were not followers of Christ\u2014had a second home, had all the trappings, had everything they wanted\u2014and finally, found Christ \/ found a purpose, and got on mission, and became ambassadors. \n\t\t\t<\/p>\n\t\t\t<p>\n\t\t\t\t<strong>16:00<\/strong>\n\t\t\t<\/p>\n\t\t\t<p>\n\t\t\t\t<strong>\u00a0<\/strong>\n\t\t\t<\/p>\n\t\t\t<p>\n\t\t\t\tNow, they\u2019re all over wanting to strengthen marriages all across the country. \n\t\t\t<\/p>\n\t\t\t<p>\n\t\t\t\t<br>They were actually driving from the state of Washington through Little Rock to get to Aiken, South Carolina, to perform an <em>Art of Marriage<\/em><em><sup>\u00ae<\/sup><\/em> event in that church to serve marriages and families there. They were on mission, and they talked about what you just said, Bob. They talked about how their attitude changed about\u2014instead of being in the world, loving the world, of the world\u2014they wanted to be those who changed the world and made a difference in the world and other people\u2019s lives. \n\t\t\t<\/p>\n\t\t\t<p>\n\t\t\t\tBack to the story of our kids being in high school\u2014I\u2019ll never forget the first outreach we had in our home. Again, making your home an embassy may mean reaching out, inviting kids informally to hear the gospel. And in our case, we actually hired a speaker\u2014and I\u2019ll never forget, Bob, I bought\u2014it had to be over 100 hot dogs\u2014\n\t\t\t<\/p>\n\t\t\t<p>\n\t\t\t\t<strong>17:00<\/strong>\n\t\t\t<\/p>\n\t\t\t<p>\n\t\t\t\t<strong>\u00a0<\/strong>\n\t\t\t<\/p>\n\t\t\t<p>\n\t\t\t\t\u2014all these hot dogs and buns and everything. We were going to grill dogs and be there for these hungry teenagers, and I think <em>seven<\/em> kids came. \n\t\t\t<\/p>\n\t\t\t<p>\n\t\t\t\t<strong>Barbara: <\/strong>Plus, our kids. [Laughter]\u00a0 \n\t\t\t<\/p>\n\t\t\t<p>\n\t\t\t\t<strong>Dennis: <\/strong>Plus, our kids. We were eating hot dogs for \u2014\n\t\t\t<\/p>\n\t\t\t<p>\n\t\t\t\t<strong>Barbara: <\/strong>\u2014a long time. \n\t\t\t<\/p>\n\t\t\t<p>\n\t\t\t\t<strong>Dennis: <\/strong>\u2014a long, long time. \n\t\t\t<\/p>\n\t\t\t<p>\n\t\t\t\t<strong>Bob: <\/strong>The good news is you can buy seven hot dogs for about 20 bucks. [Laughter]\n\t\t\t<\/p>\n\t\t\t<p>\n\t\t\t\t<strong>Dennis: <\/strong>Well, you can buy a lot of them; but\u2014\n\t\t\t<\/p>\n\t\t\t<p>\n\t\t\t\t<strong>Barbara: <\/strong>And they freeze real well!\u00a0 \n\t\t\t<\/p>\n\t\t\t<p>\n\t\t\t\t<br><strong>Bob: <\/strong>That\u2019s right. \n\t\t\t<\/p>\n\t\t\t<p>\n\t\t\t\t<strong>Dennis: <\/strong>I just remember that freezer was full of a reminder that we\u2019d overshot it. \n\t\t\t<\/p>\n\t\t\t<p>\n\t\t\t\tBut you know what?\u00a0 By the time our kids graduated from high school\u2014the last one\u2014we\u2019d actually created an outreach that had anywhere from 10 to 25 percent of the student body coming out to events to hear a singing group, an illusionist, maybe, a simulcast with Josh McDowell speaking to them around relevant issues. \n\t\t\t<\/p>\n\t\t\t<p>\n\t\t\t\tAnd that\u2019s why I want to just say to parents: \u201cIt may not work the first time you try this to become\u2014\n\t\t\t<\/p>\n\t\t\t<p>\n\t\t\t\t<strong>18:00<\/strong>\n\t\t\t<\/p>\n\t\t\t<p>\n\t\t\t\t<strong>\u00a0<\/strong>\n\t\t\t<\/p>\n\t\t\t<p>\n\t\t\t\t\u2014make your home into an embassy with your kids. Don\u2019t quit!\u00a0 Keep on inviting kids over there and stay after the task.\u201d\u00a0 \n\t\t\t<\/p>\n\t\t\t<p>\n\t\t\t\t<strong>Barbara: <\/strong>Well, and you\u2019re modeling for your kids. I think that\u2019s\u2014I mean, when you said just a second ago, Dennis, we did this. Well, it wasn\u2019t just <em>us<\/em>. \n\t\t\t<\/p>\n\t\t\t<p>\n\t\t\t\t<br><strong>Dennis: <\/strong>That\u2019s right. \n\t\t\t<\/p>\n\t\t\t<p>\n\t\t\t\t<strong>Barbara: <\/strong>We did it because we encouraged our kids to do it. So, it was <em>really<\/em> our kids who did it; but we did it <em>together<\/em>. And because we encouraged them to reach out to their friends and to create a safe place on campus for kids to talk about Christ, they actually bought into and began to do it. \n\t\t\t<\/p>\n\t\t\t<p>\n\t\t\t\tSo, the whole reason that we did this\u2014that we had the kids over, and had hot dogs, and hired a speaker\u2014is because we wanted to model reaching out to others for our kids and with our kids so that they would catch the vision of what it meant to be an ambassador \/ how to go to school\u2014not just to get an education and graduate and get out of there, which is what most of them think\u2014but how to go to school on purpose and to know that God has a purpose and a mission for you wherever He has you in school. We wanted our kids to be aware of that every day. \n\t\t\t<\/p>\n\t\t\t<p>\n\t\t\t\t<strong>19:00<\/strong>\n\t\t\t<\/p>\n\t\t\t<p>\n\t\t\t\t<strong>Dennis: <\/strong>I think the thing I want to challenge people, who don\u2019t have kids to do\u2014you may say, \u201cMaybe, our work is done.\u201d\u00a0 No, no, no\u2014there are marriages and families that are falling apart all across the country. You need to know that we\u2019ve created tools here that can turn you into a great ambassador. <em>The Art of Marriage<\/em> has now been seen by over 700,000 people because of ambassadors \/ people who grabbed it and showed the video at an event or in a small group. \n\t\t\t<\/p>\n\t\t\t<p>\n\t\t\t\t<br>And there have been some men, who have said: \u201cYou know what?\u00a0 I want to help men be courageous men.\u201d\u00a0 And they\u2019ve grabbed <em>Stepping Up<\/em><em><sup>\u00ae<\/sup><\/em>, the video series, and have led a <em>Stepping Up<\/em> video series with a small group of men or a large group of men and have made an impact on their lives. And over 200,000 men have been through that. \n\t\t\t<\/p>\n\t\t\t<p>\n\t\t\t\tSo, there are <em>thousands<\/em> of ambassadors who, today, are saying: \u201cI want to make a difference. Give me the tool. Get out of my way. I want to reach my community for Christ.\u201d\u00a0 \n\t\t\t<\/p>\n\t\t\t<p>\n\t\t\t\t<strong>Barbara: <\/strong>I think the important thing is that each of us, as ambassadors for Christ, need to ask God: \n\t\t\t<\/p>\n\t\t\t<p>\n\t\t\t\t<strong>20:00<\/strong>\n\t\t\t<\/p>\n\t\t\t<p>\n\t\t\t\t<strong>\u00a0<\/strong>\n\t\t\t<\/p>\n\t\t\t<p>\n\t\t\t\t\u00a0\u201cWhat is it that You want me to do?\u201d\u00a0 Then, be intentional about it. \n\t\t\t<\/p>\n\t\t\t<p>\n\t\t\t\tIf you have kids, you need to be intentional about teaching them that they are ambassadors\u2014that their lives represent Christ every day when they walk out the front door of your house and go to school, or go to their job, or whatever\u2014they are representing Christ. I\u2019m actually not surprised to see the Reese\u2019s<sup>\u00ae<\/sup> Peanut Butter cup in the position that it\u2019s in on the poll on our website at FamilyLifeToday.com\u2014this is the candy bar poll we\u2019ve had going on this week. \n\t\t\t<\/p>\n\t\t\t<p>\n\t\t\t\t<strong>Dennis: <\/strong>That is no way connected to the content of the broadcast. \n\t\t\t<\/p>\n\t\t\t<p>\n\t\t\t\t<strong>Bob: <\/strong>No. \n\t\t\t<\/p>\n\t\t\t<p>\n\t\t\t\t<strong>Dennis: <\/strong>Although the broadcast this week has been sweet because Barbara is with us. \n\t\t\t<\/p>\n\t\t\t<p>\n\t\t\t\t<strong>Bob: <\/strong>That\u2019s true. I\u2019d like to just acknowledge that\u2014\n\t\t\t<\/p>\n\t\t\t<p>\n\t\t\t\t<br><strong>Dennis: <\/strong>How\u2019s that?\u00a0 Come on, Bob\u2014\n\t\t\t<\/p>\n\t\t\t<p>\n\t\t\t\t<strong>Bob: <\/strong>\u2014there\u2019s no connection\u2014\n\t\t\t<\/p>\n\t\t\t<p>\n\t\t\t\t<strong>Dennis: <\/strong>\u2014acknowledge that may be worth one point. Come on. \n\t\t\t<\/p>\n\t\t\t<p>\n\t\t\t\t<br><strong>Bob: <\/strong>There\u2019s no connection.\n\t\t\t<\/p>\n\t\t\t<p>\n\t\t\t\t<strong>Dennis: <\/strong>One point.\n\t\t\t<\/p>\n\t\t\t<p>\n\t\t\t\t<strong>Bob: I<\/strong>t was you who brought this up at the beginning of the week. [Laughter] So, the fact that it\u2019s completely random should not surprise listeners at all. \n\t\t\t<\/p>\n\t\t\t<p>\n\t\t\t\t<strong>2:00<\/strong>\n\t\t\t<\/p>\n\t\t\t<p>\n\t\t\t\t<strong>\u00a0<\/strong>\n\t\t\t<\/p>\n\t\t\t<p>\n\t\t\t\tBut do you think of a Reese\u2019s Peanut Butter cup as a candy bar? See, I don\u2019t think of it as a candy bar. \n\t\t\t<\/p>\n\t\t\t<p>\n\t\t\t\t<strong>Barbara: <\/strong>It\u2019s not. It\u2019s a candy, but it\u2019s not bar shaped. \n\t\t\t<\/p>\n\t\t\t<p>\n\t\t\t\t<strong>Bob: <\/strong>It\u2019s not a bar. So, it\u2019s not\u2014we put it up there as one of the choices, but I\u2019m just a little surprised because I don\u2019t think of it as a candy bar. \n\t\t\t<\/p>\n\t\t\t<p>\n\t\t\t\t<strong>Barbara:<\/strong> I don\u2019t either. \n\t\t\t<\/p>\n\t\t\t<p>\n\t\t\t\t<strong>Dennis: <\/strong>It was not a random choice, either. We were talking about how you can be on mission as an ambassador. We\u2019ve been talking this week, with Barbara\u2014welcome back, Sweetheart. [Laughter]\n\t\t\t<\/p>\n\t\t\t<p>\n\t\t\t\t<strong>Bob: <\/strong>At last, we see the connection\u2014we see the connection between being on mission as an ambassador\u2014\n\t\t\t<\/p>\n\t\t\t<p>\n\t\t\t\t<strong>Dennis: <\/strong>I\u2019m about to get there. \n\t\t\t<\/p>\n\t\t\t<p>\n\t\t\t\t<strong>Bob: <\/strong>\u2014and a candy bar. \n\t\t\t<\/p>\n\t\t\t<p>\n\t\t\t\t<strong>Dennis: <\/strong>An ambassador knows whom he serves. \n\t\t\t<\/p>\n\t\t\t<p>\n\t\t\t\t<strong>Bob: <\/strong>Yes. \n\t\t\t<\/p>\n\t\t\t<p>\n\t\t\t\t<strong>Dennis: <\/strong>He knows and executes the <em>mission<\/em> of the one he serves.\u00a0 \n\t\t\t<\/p>\n\t\t\t<p>\n\t\t\t\t<strong>Bob: <\/strong>Right. \n\t\t\t<\/p>\n\t\t\t<p>\n\t\t\t\t<br><strong>Dennis: <\/strong>Third\u2014\n\t\t\t<\/p>\n\t\t\t<p>\n\t\t\t\t<strong>Bob: <\/strong>Waiting for the candy bar part. \n\t\t\t<\/p>\n\t\t\t<p>\n\t\t\t\t<strong>Dennis: <\/strong>\u2014he operates out of an embassy; and in this case, we\u2019re challenging people to think about making their home an embassy. \n\t\t\t<\/p>\n\t\t\t<p>\n\t\t\t\t<strong>Bob: <\/strong>Right. \n\t\t\t<\/p>\n\t\t\t<p>\n\t\t\t\t<strong>Dennis: <\/strong>And we\u2019ve got a little sign\u2014a stainless steel sign\u2014that says, \u201cEmbassy of the King.\u201d\u00a0 And finally, I think a good ambassador, operating out of his embassy, needs to train his kids to know how to operate in the world. \n\t\t\t<\/p>\n\t\t\t<p>\n\t\t\t\t<strong>3:00<\/strong>\n\t\t\t<\/p>\n\t\t\t<p>\n\t\t\t\t<strong>\u00a0<\/strong>\n\t\t\t<\/p>\n\t\t\t<p>\n\t\t\t\t<strong>Bob: <\/strong>Here\u2019s the connection to candy bars\u2014\u00a0 \n\t\t\t<\/p>\n\t\t\t<p>\n\t\t\t\t<strong>Dennis: <\/strong>And Barbara\u2014\n\t\t\t<\/p>\n\t\t\t<p>\n\t\t\t\t<strong>Bob: <\/strong>\u2014kids.\n\t\t\t<\/p>\n\t\t\t<p>\n\t\t\t\t<strong>Barbara: <\/strong>Kids. [Laughter]\u00a0 \n\t\t\t<\/p>\n\t\t\t<p>\n\t\t\t\t<strong>Dennis: <\/strong>Kids\u2014yes; that\u2019s it!\u00a0 [Laughter]\u00a0 We took the kids to Russia on a Josh McDowell trip to go visit orphanages. \n\t\t\t<\/p>\n\t\t\t<p>\n\t\t\t\t<strong>Barbara: <\/strong>We did. \n\t\t\t<\/p>\n\t\t\t<p>\n\t\t\t\t<strong>Dennis: <\/strong>And the way Barbara survived was a candy bar made only in Russia\u2014it\u2019s not exported, I\u2019m sure. [Laughter]\u00a0 She survived all week because the sandwich, or whatever it was, had lettuce-thin meat. \n\t\t\t<\/p>\n\t\t\t<p>\n\t\t\t\t<strong>Bob: <\/strong>The supplies were meager. \n\t\t\t<\/p>\n\t\t\t<p>\n\t\t\t\t<strong>Dennis: <\/strong>They were. It was survivable only because of the candy bar. Thus\u2014\n\t\t\t<\/p>\n\t\t\t<p>\n\t\t\t\t<strong>Bob: <\/strong>Okay. It took a long way to get there, but that\u2019s how we got to the candy bars. \n\t\t\t<\/p>\n\t\t\t<p>\n\t\t\t\t<strong>Dennis: <\/strong>\u2014thus, the straw poll. It\u2019s okay. \n\t\t\t<\/p>\n\t\t\t<p>\n\t\t\t\t<strong>Bob: <\/strong>Our focus, though, this week has been rethinking about our lives\u2014thinking about being ambassadors \/ thinking about our homes being embassies for the Kingdom of heaven. Barbara\u2014as Dennis said, you\u2019ve created a plaque to put at the front door of your home. \n\t\t\t<\/p>\n\t\t\t<p>\n\t\t\t\t<strong>4:00<\/strong>\n\t\t\t<\/p>\n\t\t\t<p>\n\t\t\t\t<strong>\u00a0<\/strong>\n\t\t\t<\/p>\n\t\t\t<p>\n\t\t\t\tYou\u2019ve created a wall-hanging and a framed print that can hang inside the home that all remind you that the home is an embassy for the kingdom of heaven. \n\t\t\t<\/p>\n\t\t\t<p>\n\t\t\t\tIf you were starting over again, as a mom \/ as a young wife\u2014you had little kids in the home and you wanted to reinforce this idea\u2014what might you do differently than what you did when you were raising your kids?\u00a0 \n\t\t\t<\/p>\n\t\t\t<p>\n\t\t\t\t<strong>Barbara: <\/strong>Wow!\u00a0 \n\t\t\t<\/p>\n\t\t\t<p>\n\t\t\t\t<strong>Dennis: <\/strong>Well, you know what I would do?\u00a0 \n\t\t\t<\/p>\n\t\t\t<p>\n\t\t\t\t<strong>Barbara: <\/strong>What would you do?\u00a0 \n\t\t\t<\/p>\n\t\t\t<p>\n\t\t\t\t<strong>Dennis: <\/strong>I\u2019d go to FamilyLifeToday.com and I would play a little video that is on there\u2014how long is the video of\u2014\n\t\t\t<\/p>\n\t\t\t<p>\n\t\t\t\t<strong>Barbara: <\/strong>It\u2019s about a five- to six-minute video. \n\t\t\t<\/p>\n\t\t\t<p>\n\t\t\t\t<strong>Dennis: <\/strong>\u2014a follower of Christ, from a former Communist country, who turned his home into an embassy. And the reason we\u2019re kind of speaking generically in pronouns is because the creator of this asked that we not refer to the person\u2019s name or gender identity; but you\u2019ll soon find out who it is by watching the video. \n\t\t\t<\/p>\n\t\t\t<p>\n\t\t\t\tBut I\u2019d have the kids watch this video, Bob. \n\t\t\t<\/p>\n\t\t\t<p>\n\t\t\t\t<strong>5:00<\/strong>\n\t\t\t<\/p>\n\t\t\t<p>\n\t\t\t\t<strong>\u00a0<\/strong>\n\t\t\t<\/p>\n\t\t\t<p>\n\t\t\t\tThe person involved is an older person, but this person is on mission. This person is an ambassador operating out of an embassy. \n\t\t\t<\/p>\n\t\t\t<p>\n\t\t\t\t<strong>Barbara: <\/strong>And this person talks about how important it is that his home reflects the King that he serves. So, he has some things around his house that remind him of whom he serves and whom he belongs to and remind those who come to visit whom he belongs to and whom his King and Lord is. \n\t\t\t<\/p>\n\t\t\t<p>\n\t\t\t\t<strong>Dennis: <\/strong>And if you are wondering, kind of, where the concept for this comes from, Deuteronomy 6 is a great place to go. It talks about having a sign on the doorpost of your house\u2014a banner that is proclaiming whose you are and who you are \/ your identity. It was all about helping the nation of Israel, as they moved into a foreign country, to know how to establish their spiritual identity and who their God was as they took up residence there. Not a bad idea for us, as followers of Christ, today. \n\t\t\t<\/p>\n\t\t\t<p>\n\t\t\t\t<strong>6:00<\/strong>\n\t\t\t<\/p>\n\t\t\t<p>\n\t\t\t\t<strong>Bob: <\/strong>So, I\u2019m thinking about, again, how we remind ourselves that we are living as citizens of a different kingdom with different values and make that a part of what our home reflects. I have a friend \/ we have mutual friends; and if you go into their kitchen, painted on the wall in the kitchen is Proverbs 14:4, which says, \u201cWhere there are no oxen, the manger is clean.\u201d\u00a0 [Laughter]\u00a0 \n\t\t\t<\/p>\n\t\t\t<p>\n\t\t\t\t<strong>Barbara: <\/strong>That\u2019s painted in the kitchen?\u00a0 \n\t\t\t<\/p>\n\t\t\t<p>\n\t\t\t\t<strong>Bob: <\/strong>It\u2019s painted in the kitchen. \n\t\t\t<\/p>\n\t\t\t<p>\n\t\t\t\t<strong>Barbara: <\/strong>I was thinking it was going to be something about <em>food<\/em>\u2014I was waiting for that. \n\t\t\t<\/p>\n\t\t\t<p>\n\t\t\t\t<strong>Bob: <\/strong>See, I thought so too. I walked into the kitchen, and I saw, \u201cWhere there are no oxen, the manger is clean.\u201d\u00a0 And then, I looked at the kitchen and said: \u201cOh!\u00a0 I understand.\u201d\u00a0 [Laughter]\u00a0 \n\t\t\t<\/p>\n\t\t\t<p>\n\t\t\t\t<strong>Barbara: <\/strong>Lots of little kids!\u00a0 \n\t\t\t<\/p>\n\t\t\t<p>\n\t\t\t\t<strong>Bob: <\/strong>\u201cIf we didn\u2019t have all these kids, the kitchen would be spotless,\u201d is kind of what this is saying. \n\t\t\t<\/p>\n\t\t\t<p>\n\t\t\t\tPart of what you do\u2014if you want your home to reflect embassy values\u2014Dennis, you talked about the American embassy in foreign countries would have pictures of presidents or might have founding documents up. \n\t\t\t<\/p>\n\t\t\t<p>\n\t\t\t\t<strong>7:00<\/strong>\n\t\t\t<\/p>\n\t\t\t<p>\n\t\t\t\t<strong>\u00a0<\/strong>\n\t\t\t<\/p>\n\t\t\t<p>\n\t\t\t\tYou put Scripture on the walls. \n\t\t\t<\/p>\n\t\t\t<p>\n\t\t\t\t<strong>Barbara: <\/strong>You do. \n\t\t\t<\/p>\n\t\t\t<p>\n\t\t\t\t<strong>Bob: <\/strong>You put pictures on the walls that might represent some of our spiritual forefathers. You do things to create a visual environment that keeps pointing us to whose home this really is; right?\u00a0 \n\t\t\t<\/p>\n\t\t\t<p>\n\t\t\t\t<strong>Barbara: <\/strong>Yes; and that\u2019s part of the reason I created these visuals for us to put in our home because I think seeing one of these signs that says, \u201cEmbassy of the King\u201d on my front door or next to my front door every time I walk in\u2014and I don\u2019t have one up yet, but I\u2019m going to put it up soon\u2014but I think that would be good for my soul, when I walk in my front door, to remember that I\u2019m walking into the embassy of the King. It\u2019s a refuge \/ it\u2019s a place of rest\u2014when I\u2019ve been out in foreign land, so to speak, and I\u2019ve been on mission for Him\u2014to come home and to know that where I\u2019m walking into belongs to my King, and that it\u2019s His, and that He is in charge here, not me. \n\t\t\t<\/p>\n\t\t\t<p>\n\t\t\t\t<strong>Dennis: <\/strong>I\u2019m going to screw this stainless steel, \u201cEmbassy of the King\u201d\u2014what do you call this?\u00a0 \n\t\t\t<\/p>\n\t\t\t<p>\n\t\t\t\t<strong>8:00<\/strong>\n\t\t\t<\/p>\n\t\t\t<p>\n\t\t\t\t<strong>\u00a0<\/strong>\n\t\t\t<\/p>\n\t\t\t<p>\n\t\t\t\tIt\u2019s not a sign. \n\t\t\t<\/p>\n\t\t\t<p>\n\t\t\t\t<strong>Barbara: <\/strong>I call it a plaque. \n\t\t\t<\/p>\n\t\t\t<p>\n\t\t\t\t<strong>Dennis: <\/strong>I\u2019m going to screw this into our bricks of the front of our house. I\u2019m actually picturing, as I come home from work, I\u2019m going to reach over and touch that. Or as I leave in the morning and leave home, I\u2019m going to touch it as I leave\u2014just as a reminder and start thinking about that. What if your kids did that every day as you would raise them?\u00a0 \n\t\t\t<\/p>\n\t\t\t<p>\n\t\t\t\tNow, we tried to do that as we took our kids to school every day. We would\u2014on the way to school, there was a certain spot on the road, where we\u2019d start praying. We would pray for our children\u2014that they would represent Christ, they would know whose they are, and who they are, and that they would represent Him well. \n\t\t\t<\/p>\n\t\t\t<p>\n\t\t\t\tThat\u2019s what we\u2019re about, as parents\u2014we have to make our faith our kids\u2019 faith\u2014and how to help them begin to live on the basis of that faith in enemy territory. \n\t\t\t<\/p>\n\t\t\t<p>\n\t\t\t\t<strong>Bob: <\/strong>Part of making your home an embassy involves hospitality; doesn\u2019t it?\u00a0 \n\t\t\t<\/p>\n\t\t\t<p>\n\t\t\t\t<strong>9:00<\/strong>\n\t\t\t<\/p>\n\t\t\t<p>\n\t\t\t\t<strong>Barbara: <\/strong>Yes. I think it does involve hospitality because, when you think about an embassy in another country\u2014if you went to the American Embassy in a foreign land, you would be welcomed, you would be greeted warmly, you would be invited in\u2014and that\u2019s the essence of hospitality. You might go to the American Embassy because you had a need, you had a problem that you need their help solving, or you might just go visit because you wanted to see the embassy. \n\t\t\t<\/p>\n\t\t\t<p>\n\t\t\t\tI think our homes, as we represent Christ, can do the same thing. When our kids are in school and they want to bring friends home, we want those children, when they come into our home, to feel welcomed and received\u2014that this is a warm, good environment to be in. I think hospitality is really important because we\u2019re commanded to be hospitable in the Bible, and I think that\u2019s one way that we communicate who Jesus is. \n\t\t\t<\/p>\n\t\t\t<p>\n\t\t\t\tJesus talked to anybody and everybody. He welcomed everybody. His love was available for everybody. \n\t\t\t<\/p>\n\t\t\t<p>\n\t\t\t\t<strong>10:00<\/strong>\n\t\t\t<\/p>\n\t\t\t<p>\n\t\t\t\t<strong>\u00a0<\/strong>\n\t\t\t<\/p>\n\t\t\t<p>\n\t\t\t\tAs His ambassadors, we need to share His love with anyone. I think it\u2019s a great exercise for families to teach your kids to reach out to their friends in school and to invite their friends to come to your home so that you can know who your kids are hanging out with in school; but also, so that you can have an influence on those kids and, maybe, give them a different experience\u2014\n\t\t\t<\/p>\n\t\t\t<p>\n\t\t\t\t<strong>Dennis: <\/strong>Yes; right. \n\t\t\t<\/p>\n\t\t\t<p>\n\t\t\t\t<strong>Barbara: <\/strong>\u2014of what home is supposed to be like because theirs may be very different. \n\t\t\t<\/p>\n\t\t\t<p>\n\t\t\t\t<strong>Dennis: <\/strong>I think families, that are followers of Christ, need to invite other kids in. You never know, as Barbara said, where they\u2019re coming from. Maybe, they\u2019ve never seen an intact family; maybe, they\u2019ve never seen a husband and a wife being nice to each other\/ loving each other. Now, a lot of our kids\u2019 friends did because a lot of our kids\u2019 friends had families that were intact; but I don\u2019t think you can underestimate the impact your marriage and family can have on other teenagers as you raise yours. \n\t\t\t<\/p>\n\t\t\t<p>\n\t\t\t\t<strong>Bob: <\/strong>Barbara, you\u2019ve heard the interview that Dennis and I did with Rosaria Butterfield. \n\t\t\t<\/p>\n\t\t\t<p>\n\t\t\t\t<strong>11:00<\/strong>\n\t\t\t<\/p>\n\t\t\t<p>\n\t\t\t\t<strong>\u00a0<\/strong>\n\t\t\t<\/p>\n\t\t\t<p>\n\t\t\t\t<strong>Barbara: <\/strong>Yes. \n\t\t\t<\/p>\n\t\t\t<p>\n\t\t\t\t<strong>Bob: <\/strong>Powerful story of a woman whose life was transformed, ultimately, because of hospitality. \n\t\t\t<\/p>\n\t\t\t<p>\n\t\t\t\t<strong>Barbara: <\/strong>That\u2019s right; yes. \n\t\t\t<\/p>\n\t\t\t<p>\n\t\t\t\t<strong>Bob: <\/strong>And I think, as I\u2019ve reflected on her story\u2014and again, if our listeners have not heard the story of a feminist, lesbian professor at Syracuse University, who became a follower of Christ and, now, is a pastor\u2019s wife and a mother raising four children, you can go to FamilyLifeToday.com to hear that story. But the thing that has stood out for me was how she got an invitation to an embassy. \n\t\t\t<\/p>\n\t\t\t<p>\n\t\t\t\t<strong>Barbara: <\/strong>She did. \n\t\t\t<\/p>\n\t\t\t<p>\n\t\t\t\t<strong>Bob: <\/strong>A pastor and his wife said, \u201cWe\u2019d like to have you over for dinner.\u201d\u00a0 \n\t\t\t<\/p>\n\t\t\t<p>\n\t\t\t\t<br><strong>Barbara: <\/strong>Yes. She came; they had a great conversation, and it was the crack in the door. \n\t\t\t<\/p>\n\t\t\t<p>\n\t\t\t\t<strong>Dennis: <\/strong>And she kept coming. \n\t\t\t<\/p>\n\t\t\t<p>\n\t\t\t\t<strong>Barbara: <\/strong>And she kept coming. \n\t\t\t<\/p>\n\t\t\t<p>\n\t\t\t\t<strong>Dennis: <\/strong>And then, she started visiting the church. \n\t\t\t<\/p>\n\t\t\t<p>\n\t\t\t\t<br><strong>Bob: <\/strong>And you remember\u2014when she first came, she came with a little edge because she told us\u2014she said, \u201cI brought a bottle of wine, just wanting to see if that pastor was going to freak out that there was alcohol. \u201c [Laughter] \n\t\t\t<\/p>\n\t\t\t<p>\n\t\t\t\t<strong>12:00<\/strong>\n\t\t\t<\/p>\n\t\t\t<p>\n\t\t\t\t<strong>\u00a0<\/strong>\n\t\t\t<\/p>\n\t\t\t<p>\n\t\t\t\tAnd then, she said, \u201cAnd I went out and got my best butch haircut so that I would be properly\u2014\n\t\t\t<\/p>\n\t\t\t<p>\n\t\t\t\t<strong>Dennis: <\/strong>I\u2019d forgotten about that. \n\t\t\t<\/p>\n\t\t\t<p>\n\t\t\t\t<strong>Bob: <\/strong>Yes. She said\u2014\n\t\t\t<\/p>\n\t\t\t<p>\n\t\t\t\t<strong>Barbara: <\/strong>\u2014\u201cproperly antagonistic.\u201d\u00a0 [Laughter]\n\t\t\t<\/p>\n\t\t\t<p>\n\t\t\t\t<strong>Bob: <\/strong>Yes. And she said, \u201cAnd it didn\u2019t throw them.\u201d\u00a0 I think, if we remember that we\u2019re ambassadors, and if we remember that this is the embassy, then, when people from the foreign country come visit the embassy and they look like foreigners, it shouldn\u2019t surprise us!\u00a0 \n\t\t\t<\/p>\n\t\t\t<p>\n\t\t\t\t<strong>Barbara: <\/strong>No; it shouldn\u2019t surprise us. Well, and if you think about it, that\u2019s how Jesus received people. He was <em>never<\/em> shocked or offended or put off by people. He was in touch with all kinds of people. I think we get way too narrow, and selfish, and all kinds of things\u2014but that\u2019s the right way to do it [as Jesus did]\u2014is to invite the foreigners in who live around the embassy and welcome them in the name of Christ. \n\t\t\t<\/p>\n\t\t\t<p>\n\t\t\t\t<strong>Bob: <\/strong>We were having a conversation recently with somebody who was talking about wanting to be more intentional about how we share our faith in a culture that increasingly wants to hear less and less about it. \n\t\t\t<\/p>\n\t\t\t<p>\n\t\t\t\t<strong>13:00<\/strong>\n\t\t\t<\/p>\n\t\t\t<p>\n\t\t\t\t<strong>\u00a0<\/strong>\n\t\t\t<\/p>\n\t\t\t<p>\n\t\t\t\tThey were talking with people who aren\u2019t followers of Christ, and they were talking about lost people. And this person said: \u201cWait a second. Is that\u2014are you talking about me?\u2014that I\u2019m a lost person?\u201d because he said, \u201cI don\u2019t think I\u2019m lost,\u201d and these other folks went\u2014I guess we better stop and think, \u201cIf you are an ambassador, living in a foreign country, you should be missionally-aware\u2014\n\t\t\t<\/p>\n\t\t\t<p>\n\t\t\t\t<strong>Dennis: <\/strong>\u2014\u201cof your language.\u201d\u00a0 \n\t\t\t<\/p>\n\t\t\t<p>\n\t\t\t\t<strong>Bob: <\/strong>\u2014\u201cof your language, your actions, and your dress.\u201d\u00a0 \n\t\t\t<\/p>\n\t\t\t<p>\n\t\t\t\t<strong>Dennis: <\/strong>\u2014\u201cattitudes.\u201d\u00a0 \n\t\t\t<\/p>\n\t\t\t<p>\n\t\t\t\t<strong>Bob: <\/strong>This is, I think, what Paul was talking about when he said, \u201cI\u2019ve become all things to all people in order that I might win some.\u201d\u00a0 You are aware: \u201cI don\u2019t live in the kingdom anymore. I live in a place where they don\u2019t value what the people in the kingdom value, but I must be respectful of these people\u201d\u2014\n\t\t\t<\/p>\n\t\t\t<p>\n\t\t\t\t<strong>Barbara: <\/strong>That\u2019s right; yes. \n\t\t\t<\/p>\n\t\t\t<p>\n\t\t\t\t<strong>Bob: <\/strong>\u2014\u201cas I share my homeland and my assignment with them.\u201d\u00a0 <br><br><strong>Dennis: <\/strong>Barbara and I chose to put our kids in public school, primarily, because God led us to; but secondarily, we wanted to train our kids in how to reach out to their friends who weren\u2019t necessarily all going to be believers as they were. \n\t\t\t<\/p>\n\t\t\t<p>\n\t\t\t\t<strong>14:00<\/strong>\n\t\t\t<\/p>\n\t\t\t<p>\n\t\t\t\t<strong>\u00a0<\/strong>\n\t\t\t<\/p>\n\t\t\t<p>\n\t\t\t\tWe wanted them to kind of grow up in a hostile country. \n\t\t\t<\/p>\n\t\t\t<p>\n\t\t\t\t<strong>Barbara: <\/strong>Well, we wanted them to go as ambassadors. We did not use that term with them, but we wanted them to learn to reach out to kids who didn\u2019t know Christ. We also wanted them to learn how to relate to kids from all social backgrounds, different kinds of economic backgrounds, and different races because we are called to reach all kinds of people. We wanted them to have that experience of relating to kids from all kinds of different backgrounds. \n\t\t\t<\/p>\n\t\t\t<p>\n\t\t\t\tAnd that\u2019s a part of being an ambassador\u2014is learning who your audience is, learning who these people are, learning their customs, learning the way they talk\u2014not so that you can assimilate and become like them\u2014but so that you can have a hearing and they can hear from you. \n\t\t\t<\/p>\n\t\t\t<p>\n\t\t\t\t<strong>Bob: <\/strong>I\u2019m glad you brought that up because one of the dangers that we face, as ambassadors\u2014\n\t\t\t<\/p>\n\t\t\t<p>\n\t\t\t\t<strong>15:00<\/strong>\n\t\t\t<\/p>\n\t\t\t<p>\n\t\t\t\t<strong>\u00a0<\/strong>\n\t\t\t<\/p>\n\t\t\t<p>\n\t\t\t\t\u2014let\u2019s face it\u2014we live in a pretty nice place. I\u2019m thinking: \u201cIf I was the ambassador to Fiji, after a few years of living in Fiji, you might start to think, \u2018Fiji\u2019s pretty nice. [Laughter] In fact, it\u2019s\u2014\n\t\t\t<\/p>\n\t\t\t<p>\n\t\t\t\t<strong>Dennis: <\/strong>So, when you were saying you live in a nice place, you\u2019re not talking about your home being nicer than anybody else\u2019s.\u00a0\u00a0 \n\t\t\t<\/p>\n\t\t\t<p>\n\t\t\t\t<strong>Bob: <\/strong>No!\u00a0 \n\t\t\t<\/p>\n\t\t\t<p>\n\t\t\t\t<strong>Dennis: <\/strong>You\u2019re talking about America. \n\t\t\t<\/p>\n\t\t\t<p>\n\t\t\t\t<strong>Bob: <\/strong>I\u2019m saying we live in the <em>world<\/em>\u2014this is a pretty nice world we live in. \n\t\t\t<\/p>\n\t\t\t<p>\n\t\t\t\t<strong>Barbara: <\/strong>Yes. \n\t\t\t<\/p>\n\t\t\t<p>\n\t\t\t\t<strong>Bob: <\/strong>And God\u2019s given us good things here, and you can fall in love with the world. \n\t\t\t<\/p>\n\t\t\t<p>\n\t\t\t\t<strong>Dennis: <\/strong>We had dinner the other night with a couple, Tim and Kathy Bush. They are from Washington, and they shared their story of how they were lost. I mean, they\u2019d spent thousands of dollars on marriage counselors. They had been all over the place trying to find solutions for their marriage. They were not followers of Christ\u2014had a second home, had all the trappings, had everything they wanted\u2014and finally, found Christ \/ found a purpose, and got on mission, and became ambassadors. \n\t\t\t<\/p>\n\t\t\t<p>\n\t\t\t\t<strong>16:00<\/strong>\n\t\t\t<\/p>\n\t\t\t<p>\n\t\t\t\t<strong>\u00a0<\/strong>\n\t\t\t<\/p>\n\t\t\t<p>\n\t\t\t\tNow, they\u2019re all over wanting to strengthen marriages all across the country. \n\t\t\t<\/p>\n\t\t\t<p>\n\t\t\t\t<br>They were actually driving from the state of Washington through Little Rock to get to Aiken, South Carolina, to perform an <em>Art of Marriage<\/em><em><sup>\u00ae<\/sup><\/em> event in that church to serve marriages and families there. They were on mission, and they talked about what you just said, Bob. They talked about how their attitude changed about\u2014instead of being in the world, loving the world, of the world\u2014they wanted to be those who changed the world and made a difference in the world and other people\u2019s lives. \n\t\t\t<\/p>\n\t\t\t<p>\n\t\t\t\tBack to the story of our kids being in high school\u2014I\u2019ll never forget the first outreach we had in our home. Again, making your home an embassy may mean reaching out, inviting kids informally to hear the gospel. And in our case, we actually hired a speaker\u2014and I\u2019ll never forget, Bob, I bought\u2014it had to be over 100 hot dogs\u2014\n\t\t\t<\/p>\n\t\t\t<p>\n\t\t\t\t<strong>17:00<\/strong>\n\t\t\t<\/p>\n\t\t\t<p>\n\t\t\t\t<strong>\u00a0<\/strong>\n\t\t\t<\/p>\n\t\t\t<p>\n\t\t\t\t\u2014all these hot dogs and buns and everything. We were going to grill dogs and be there for these hungry teenagers, and I think <em>seven<\/em> kids came. \n\t\t\t<\/p>\n\t\t\t<p>\n\t\t\t\t<strong>Barbara: <\/strong>Plus, our kids. [Laughter]\u00a0 \n\t\t\t<\/p>\n\t\t\t<p>\n\t\t\t\t<strong>Dennis: <\/strong>Plus, our kids. We were eating hot dogs for \u2014\n\t\t\t<\/p>\n\t\t\t<p>\n\t\t\t\t<strong>Barbara: <\/strong>\u2014a long time. \n\t\t\t<\/p>\n\t\t\t<p>\n\t\t\t\t<strong>Dennis: <\/strong>\u2014a long, long time. \n\t\t\t<\/p>\n\t\t\t<p>\n\t\t\t\t<strong>Bob: <\/strong>The good news is you can buy seven hot dogs for about 20 bucks. [Laughter]\n\t\t\t<\/p>\n\t\t\t<p>\n\t\t\t\t<strong>Dennis: <\/strong>Well, you can buy a lot of them; but\u2014\n\t\t\t<\/p>\n\t\t\t<p>\n\t\t\t\t<strong>Barbara: <\/strong>And they freeze real well!\u00a0 \n\t\t\t<\/p>\n\t\t\t<p>\n\t\t\t\t<br><strong>Bob: <\/strong>That\u2019s right. \n\t\t\t<\/p>\n\t\t\t<p>\n\t\t\t\t<strong>Dennis: <\/strong>I just remember that freezer was full of a reminder that we\u2019d overshot it. \n\t\t\t<\/p>\n\t\t\t<p>\n\t\t\t\tBut you know what?\u00a0 By the time our kids graduated from high school\u2014the last one\u2014we\u2019d actually created an outreach that had anywhere from 10 to 25 percent of the student body coming out to events to hear a singing group, an illusionist, maybe, a simulcast with Josh McDowell speaking to them around relevant issues. \n\t\t\t<\/p>\n\t\t\t<p>\n\t\t\t\tAnd that\u2019s why I want to just say to parents: \u201cIt may not work the first time you try this to become\u2014\n\t\t\t<\/p>\n\t\t\t<p>\n\t\t\t\t<strong>18:00<\/strong>\n\t\t\t<\/p>\n\t\t\t<p>\n\t\t\t\t<strong>\u00a0<\/strong>\n\t\t\t<\/p>\n\t\t\t<p>\n\t\t\t\t\u2014make your home into an embassy with your kids. Don\u2019t quit!\u00a0 Keep on inviting kids over there and stay after the task.\u201d\u00a0 \n\t\t\t<\/p>\n\t\t\t<p>\n\t\t\t\t<strong>Barbara: <\/strong>Well, and you\u2019re modeling for your kids. I think that\u2019s\u2014I mean, when you said just a second ago, Dennis, we did this. Well, it wasn\u2019t just <em>us<\/em>. \n\t\t\t<\/p>\n\t\t\t<p>\n\t\t\t\t<br><strong>Dennis: <\/strong>That\u2019s right. \n\t\t\t<\/p>\n\t\t\t<p>\n\t\t\t\t<strong>Barbara: <\/strong>We did it because we encouraged our kids to do it. So, it was <em>really<\/em> our kids who did it; but we did it <em>together<\/em>. And because we encouraged them to reach out to their friends and to create a safe place on campus for kids to talk about Christ, they actually bought into and began to do it. \n\t\t\t<\/p>\n\t\t\t<p>\n\t\t\t\tSo, the whole reason that we did this\u2014that we had the kids over, and had hot dogs, and hired a speaker\u2014is because we wanted to model reaching out to others for our kids and with our kids so that they would catch the vision of what it meant to be an ambassador \/ how to go to school\u2014not just to get an education and graduate and get out of there, which is what most of them think\u2014but how to go to school on purpose and to know that God has a purpose and a mission for you wherever He has you in school. We wanted our kids to be aware of that every day. \n\t\t\t<\/p>\n\t\t\t<p>\n\t\t\t\t<strong>19:00<\/strong>\n\t\t\t<\/p>\n\t\t\t<p>\n\t\t\t\t<strong>Dennis: <\/strong>I think the thing I want to challenge people, who don\u2019t have kids to do\u2014you may say, \u201cMaybe, our work is done.\u201d\u00a0 No, no, no\u2014there are marriages and families that are falling apart all across the country. You need to know that we\u2019ve created tools here that can turn you into a great ambassador. <em>The Art of Marriage<\/em> has now been seen by over 700,000 people because of ambassadors \/ people who grabbed it and showed the video at an event or in a small group. \n\t\t\t<\/p>\n\t\t\t<p>\n\t\t\t\t<br>And there have been some men, who have said: \u201cYou know what?\u00a0 I want to help men be courageous men.\u201d\u00a0 And they\u2019ve grabbed <em>Stepping Up<\/em><em><sup>\u00ae<\/sup><\/em>, the video series, and have led a <em>Stepping Up<\/em> video series with a small group of men or a large group of men and have made an impact on their lives. Give me the tool. Get out of my way. I want to reach my community for Christ.\u201d\u00a0 \n\t\t\t<\/p>\n\t\t\t<p>\n\t\t\t\t<strong>Barbara: <\/strong>I think the important thing is that each of us, as ambassadors for Christ, need to ask God: \n\t\t\t<\/p>\n\t\t\t<p>\n\t\t\t\t<strong>20:00<\/strong>\n\t\t\t<\/p>\n\t\t\t<p>\n\t\t\t\t<strong>\u00a0<\/strong>\n\t\t\t<\/p>\n\t\t\t<p>\n\t\t\t\t\u00a0\u201cWhat is it that You want me to do?\u201d\u00a0 Then, be intentional about it. \n\t\t\t<\/p>\n\t\t\t<p>\n\t\t\t\tIf you have kids, you need to be intentional about teaching them that they are ambassadors\u2014that their lives represent Christ every day when they walk out the front door of your house and go to school, or go to their job, or whatever\u2014they are representing Christ.
