Thanks for joining us on the Thursday edition. All of a sudden, I feel like warm breezes and salt sea air\u2014\n\t\t\t<\/p>\n\t\t\t<p>\n\t\t\t\t<strong>Dennis: <\/strong>Well, it\u2019s June. So, you ought to be thinking warm breezes. [Laughter]\n\t\t\t<\/p>\n\t\t\t<p>\n\t\t\t\t<br><strong>Bob: <\/strong>Well, that\u2019s true. Warm breezes outside right now, but I actually\u2014\n\t\t\t<\/p>\n\t\t\t<p>\n\t\t\t\t<strong>Dennis: <\/strong>You\u2019re actually thinking about it in February\u2014is what you\u2019re thinking about.\u00a0 \n\t\t\t<\/p>\n\t\t\t<p>\n\t\t\t\t<strong>Bob: <\/strong>That\u2019s what I\u2019m thinking about because, this past February, you and I were together on the <em>Love Like You Mean It<\/em><sup>\u00ae<\/sup> marriage cruise. \n\t\t\t<\/p>\n\t\t\t<p>\n\t\t\t\t<strong>Dennis: <\/strong>Yes. You with Mary Ann\u2014I was with Barbara. \n\t\t\t<\/p>\n\t\t\t<p>\n\t\t\t\t<strong>Bob: <\/strong>And we\u2019re going to hear\u2014\n\t\t\t<\/p>\n\t\t\t<p>\n\t\t\t\t<strong>Dennis: <\/strong>Didn\u2019t want to make it seem like you and I were on the cruise! \n\t\t\t<\/p>\n\t\t\t<p>\n\t\t\t\t<strong>Bob: <\/strong>Good point. Every\u2014you can confuse people in this day and age. \n\t\t\t<\/p>\n\t\t\t<p>\n\t\t\t\t<strong>Dennis: <\/strong>In this day and age. There we go\u2014just clarifying the facts\u2014\u00a0 \n\t\t\t<\/p>\n\t\t\t<p>\n\t\t\t\t<strong>Bob: <\/strong>Okay. \n\t\t\t<\/p>\n\t\t\t<p>\n\t\t\t\t<strong>Dennis: <\/strong>\u2014my co-host, here. \n\t\t\t<\/p>\n\t\t\t<p>\n\t\t\t\t<strong>Bob: <\/strong>I\u2019m thinking about what a great week it was. We\u2019re going to hear today the message that you shared with the folks who were onboard the cruise with us. But I\u2019m also thinking about the fact that we\u2019re down to just the last few cabins being available on next year\u2019s <em>Love Like You Mean It<\/em> marriage cruise\u2014Valentine\u2019s week 2015.\n\t\t\t<\/p>\n\t\t\t<p>\n\t\t\t\t<strong>2:00<\/strong>\n\t\t\t<\/p>\n\t\t\t<p>\n\t\t\t\t<strong>Dennis: <\/strong>It\u2019s a great combo. Let\u2019s just face it. Think about valentines, chocolate, anniversary, a birthday, a surprise, maybe a Christmas gift. However you want to position this\u2014this is a great way to get away for a few days\u2014and frankly, be absolutely spoiled with great Christian teaching, great Christian entertainment, great Christian comedians,\u2014\n\t\t\t<\/p>\n\t\t\t<p>\n\t\t\t\t<strong>Bob: <\/strong>Yes. \n\t\t\t<\/p>\n\t\t\t<p>\n\t\t\t\t<strong>Dennis: <\/strong>\u2014great Christian dancers. \n\t\t\t<\/p>\n\t\t\t<p>\n\t\t\t\t<strong>Bob: <\/strong>Yes. \n\t\t\t<\/p>\n\t\t\t<p>\n\t\t\t\t<br><strong>Dennis: <\/strong>Now, that\u2019s an interesting thought; isn\u2019t it?\u00a0 [Laughter] But anyway, it\u2019s just\u2014it\u2019s just a phenomenal investment in your marriage and your family. \n\t\t\t<\/p>\n\t\t\t<p>\n\t\t\t\t<strong>Bob: <\/strong>We\u2019ve got Steven Curtis and Mary Beth Chapman going to join us this year. We\u2019ve got Kirk and Chelsea Cameron joining us. Voddie Baucham is going to be with us this year. Alex and Stephen Kendrick are going to be along, and they are going to show us a sneak preview of the movie that they are making right now. They think, by February, they\u2019ll have a rough cut put together. \n\t\t\t<\/p>\n\t\t\t<p>\n\t\t\t\t<strong>3:00<\/strong>\n\t\t\t<\/p>\n\t\t\t<p>\n\t\t\t\t<strong>\u00a0<\/strong>\n\t\t\t<\/p>\n\t\t\t<p>\n\t\t\t\tSo, the folks on the cruise should be among the first to get a preview of their brand-new movie. \n\t\t\t<\/p>\n\t\t\t<p>\n\t\t\t\t<strong>Dennis: <\/strong>We always have one of these. \n\t\t\t<\/p>\n\t\t\t<p>\n\t\t\t\t<strong>Bob: <\/strong>Yes. \n\t\t\t<\/p>\n\t\t\t<p>\n\t\t\t\t<strong>Dennis: <\/strong>It\u2019s really been cool, where the cruise ship turns into a sneak preview of an upcoming movie. Really, it\u2019s fun to be able to share that with our friends. \n\t\t\t<\/p>\n\t\t\t<p>\n\t\t\t\t<strong>Bob: <\/strong>The last night on the cruise, before we gathered everybody together and had a vow renewal ceremony,\u2014\n\t\t\t<\/p>\n\t\t\t<p>\n\t\t\t\t<strong>Dennis: <\/strong>Right. \n\t\t\t<\/p>\n\t\t\t<p>\n\t\t\t\t<strong>Bob: <\/strong>\u2014we had the chance to hear you share a little bit about the importance of our legacy\u2014having a long view, when we come to thinking about our lives and our marriages. \n\t\t\t<\/p>\n\t\t\t<p>\n\t\t\t\t<strong>Dennis: <\/strong>Yes, I don\u2019t think we talk enough about this, Bob. I think we need to take steps backward\u2014and reflect on our lives, and think about the choices we\u2019re making, the legacy we are leaving, and what kind of message we are sending to the next generation because all of us are sending some kind of message. \n\t\t\t<\/p>\n\t\t\t<p>\n\t\t\t\t<strong>Bob: <\/strong>Well, as we\u2019re going to hear today, it is important for every one of us to be intentional when it comes to our legacy. \n\t\t\t<\/p>\n\t\t\t<p>\n\t\t\t\t<strong>4:00<\/strong>\n\t\t\t<\/p>\n\t\t\t<p>\n\t\t\t\t[Recorded Message]\u00a0 \n\t\t\t<\/p>\n\t\t\t<p>\n\t\t\t\t<strong>Dennis: <\/strong>A number of years ago, I had the privilege of watching my baseball team, the Cardinals, play in the World Series. [Cheering]\u00a0 Yes, alright. Unfortunately, we weren\u2019t doing too well in this one game. I had my son there with me\u2014Benjamin. \n\t\t\t<\/p>\n\t\t\t<p>\n\t\t\t\tThe guy who had hosted us turned to me and Ben. He turned to Ben and he said, \u201cBen, what one word would you use to describe your dad?\u201d\u00a0 I thought: \u201cOh, this is going to be good!\u00a0 It\u2019s going to be \u2018love, kind, generous\u2014great dad.\u2019\u00a0 What\u2019s he going to say?\u201d\u00a0 So, I listened. Ben said, \u201cOh, that\u2019s easy\u2014intentional.\u201d\u00a0 [Laughter]\u00a0 I looked at my son. I said: \u201cSon, you come from better stock than that!\u00a0 You can do a better word than that; can\u2019t you?\u201d\u00a0 He goes: \u201cNo. Dad, that defines you. That\u2019s who you are. You are intentional\u2014\n\t\t\t<\/p>\n\t\t\t<p>\n\t\t\t\t<strong>5:00<\/strong>\n\t\t\t<\/p>\n\t\t\t<p>\n\t\t\t\t<strong>\u00a0<\/strong>\n\t\t\t<\/p>\n\t\t\t<p>\n\t\t\t\t\u2014\u201cas you\u2019ve raised us kids, as you love Mom. As we go about our family, you are very intentional about what you do.\u201d\u00a0 \n\t\t\t<\/p>\n\t\t\t<p>\n\t\t\t\tSo, the next time our family got together, I got them all together. I said, \u201cNow, what do you all think about this word that Ben used to describe me?\u201d They all started nodding their heads. So, I decided I had to learn to like it! [Laughter]\u00a0 Actually, it is a good word because being intentional for the right thing can make a huge difference. So, as you leave here, I\u2019m going to challenge you to be intentional as you build your marriage and family. \n\t\t\t<\/p>\n\t\t\t<p>\n\t\t\t\tI want to begin my time by turning to the words of the conclusion of our Savior in His most famous sermon that He ever gave. It was the Sermon on the Mount. It\u2019s interesting\u2014as Jesus concludes this most quoted sermon that Jesus ever gave\u2014how he talks about two home builders. \n\t\t\t<\/p>\n\t\t\t<p>\n\t\t\t\t<strong>6:00<\/strong>\n\t\t\t<\/p>\n\t\t\t<p>\n\t\t\t\t<strong>\u00a0<\/strong>\n\t\t\t<\/p>\n\t\t\t<p>\n\t\t\t\tListen carefully. Matthew 7, verse 24, \u201cEveryone then who hears these words of mine and does them will be like a wise man who built his house on the rock. The rain fell and the floods came and the winds blew and beat on that house, but it did not fall because it had been founded on the rock. And everyone who hears these words of mine and does not do them will be like a foolish man who built his house on the sand. The rain fell and the floods came and the winds blew and beat against that house, and it fell and great was its fall.\u201d\u00a0 \n\t\t\t<\/p>\n\t\t\t<p>\n\t\t\t\tJesus talked about two architects, with two different sets of blueprints, and two different builders, with two different outcomes. \n\t\t\t<\/p>\n\t\t\t<p>\n\t\t\t\t<strong>7:00<\/strong>\n\t\t\t<\/p>\n\t\t\t<p>\n\t\t\t\t<strong>\u00a0<\/strong>\n\t\t\t<\/p>\n\t\t\t<p>\n\t\t\t\tOne common element\u2014they had trouble \/ they had storms. He basically said: \u201cIf you hear these words of mine and you do not do them, you will be like a foolish man who built his house on the sand.\u201d\u00a0 When the storm and the wind blew against that house, He said, \u201cIt fell and great was its fall.\u201d\u00a0 \n\t\t\t<\/p>\n\t\t\t<p>\n\t\t\t\tThere are two falls in the Bible. Well, let\u2019s talk about the fall of man in Genesis, Chapter 3. Adam and Eve disobeyed God and ate of the fruit. That was the fall. This fall that Jesus talks about in Matthew, Chapter 7, is talking about the fall of a home\u2014the fall of a family. When a family falls, it impacts generations. It has an impact upon a time you will not see. \n\t\t\t<\/p>\n\t\t\t<p>\n\t\t\t\t<strong>8:00<\/strong>\n\t\t\t<\/p>\n\t\t\t<p>\n\t\t\t\tBut the difference between the foolish man, who heard the words of Christ and didn\u2019t do them, and the man who did hear the words of Christ\u2014heard them and obeyed them\u2014was that his house was compared to that of building it on a rock foundation. \n\t\t\t<\/p>\n\t\t\t<p>\n\t\t\t\tNow, I want to talk with you about five things that you need to be intentional about as you go back home. Five that I believe really do count over the long-haul. \n\t\t\t<\/p>\n\t\t\t<p>\n\t\t\t\tNumber one\u2014you need to be intentional about keeping your promise\u2014keeping your promise. Earlier in the Sermon on the Mount, Jesus had said, in Matthew 5:37, \u201cLet your yes be yes and your no be no.\u201d\u00a0 He talked about keeping your word \/ fulfilling your promise. Now, think about it for a moment. Your marriage started with a promise. \n\t\t\t<\/p>\n\t\t\t<p>\n\t\t\t\t<strong>9:00<\/strong>\n\t\t\t<\/p>\n\t\t\t<p>\n\t\t\t\t<strong>\u00a0<\/strong>\n\t\t\t<\/p>\n\t\t\t<p>\n\t\t\t\tTwo imperfect people stood before a pastor, and their friends, and family. They gave each other a promise. That\u2019s what set your relationship apart from all the other six billion people on the planet\u2014two people making a promise to one another. \n\t\t\t<\/p>\n\t\t\t<p>\n\t\t\t\tBut what\u2019s happening today with that promise?\u00a0 It\u2019s falling apart. It\u2019s like the foolish man, who makes a commitment, but builds his house on the sand because he has no intention of obeying Jesus Christ. Be intentional about your promise. \n\t\t\t<\/p>\n\t\t\t<p>\n\t\t\t\tI love this quote by Julia Wood. Listen carefully. She said, \u201cThe hallmark of commitment is the assumption of a future.\u201d\u00a0 I really like that. \u201cThe hallmark of commitment is the assumption of a future.\u201d\u00a0 \n\t\t\t<\/p>\n\t\t\t<p>\n\t\t\t\t<strong>10:00<\/strong>\n\t\t\t<\/p>\n\t\t\t<p>\n\t\t\t\t<strong>\u00a0<\/strong>\n\t\t\t<\/p>\n\t\t\t<p>\n\t\t\t\tWhat is the promise that two people who marry one another make? \u201c\u2026till death do us part.\u201d\u00a0 Our commitment is more than just not getting a divorce. It\u2019s a promise to love, honor, and cherish, and protect, and remain faithful to one another. \n\t\t\t<\/p>\n\t\t\t<p>\n\t\t\t\tYears ago, when we started FamilyLife, we started with the <em>Weekend to Remember<\/em><sup>\u00ae<\/sup>\u2014it wasn\u2019t called that in those early years, in the late 70s\u2014but we couldn\u2019t afford to fly our wives to the conferences. So, there would be two of us guys go to the conference; and we\u2019d speak on marriage and family. One guy would give the talk to the husbands, and the other guy would give the talk to the wives\u2014that just wasn\u2019t flying real good\u2014you know?\u00a0 [Laughter]\u00a0 \n\t\t\t<\/p>\n\t\t\t<p>\n\t\t\t\tSo, we found the money, somehow, to get our wives to go give that message at the conference. \n\t\t\t<\/p>\n\t\t\t<p>\n\t\t\t\t<strong>11:00<\/strong>\n\t\t\t<\/p>\n\t\t\t<p>\n\t\t\t\tAt one of these conferences\u2014I\u2019ll never forget this. This is a true story. Saint Louis, Missouri\u2014excuse me, Kansas City, Missouri\u2014it was on Saturday evening, after the conference had been going for a couple of days. I had tucked myself into bed. I\u2019d called Barbara, back with the kids. At that point, I think we had four or five kids\u2014there was a lot going on in our family. I was exhausted. I put my feet up. I turned the TV on to watch a movie, and the phone rang. \n\t\t\t<\/p>\n\t\t\t<p>\n\t\t\t\tI picked it up. I said, \u201cHello?\u201d\u00a0 A woman\u2019s voice, on the other end, said: \u201cHi!\u00a0 What are you doing?\u201d\u00a0 I said, \u201cWell, I\u2019m watching a movie.\u201d\u00a0 She said, \u201cWell, could I come up?\u201d\u00a0 And this is just how it happened. I said\u2014instantly\u2014I said, \u201cThat wouldn\u2019t be a good idea.\u201d\u00a0 She said, \u201cWell, why?\u201d\u00a0 \n\t\t\t<\/p>\n\t\t\t<p>\n\t\t\t\t<strong>12:00<\/strong>\n\t\t\t<\/p>\n\t\t\t<p>\n\t\t\t\t<strong>\u00a0<\/strong>\n\t\t\t<\/p>\n\t\t\t<p>\n\t\t\t\tI said: \u201cFor two reasons. Number one, I <em>really<\/em> love my wife. She is a magnet that draws me, from all over the country, back home to my family. I wouldn\u2019t want to do anything to betray her. And number two, the movie I\u2019m watching is <em>The Ten Commandments<\/em>.\u201d\u00a0 [Laughter]\u00a0 Yes. \n\t\t\t<\/p>\n\t\t\t<p>\n\t\t\t\tHere\u2019s the thing: \u201cKeep your promise\u2014keep your promise.\u201d\u00a0 It is <em>the<\/em> most sacred pledge two imperfect, broken, selfish human beings ever make with one another; but it produces the hope of a future. \n\t\t\t<\/p>\n\t\t\t<p>\n\t\t\t\tSecondly, be intentional about becoming a student of God\u2019s love. Now, here is the problem. \n\t\t\t<\/p>\n\t\t\t<p>\n\t\t\t\t<strong>13:00<\/strong>\n\t\t\t<\/p>\n\t\t\t<p>\n\t\t\t\tThe problem is\u2014we are born selfish and, secondly, we are indoctrinated \/ brainwashed by the world and the world\u2019s view of love. Hollywood has done a masterful job. So much so that, when I had the opportunity to kind of sit back and think about this, I really did come to this conclusion: \u201cThat for the past four decades, I have been enrolled in God\u2019s school of love\u2014me learning how to love my wife and my children.\u201d\u00a0 \n\t\t\t<\/p>\n\t\t\t<p>\n\t\t\t\tI want you to look at this passage of Scripture\u20141 John, Chapter 4, verse 7: \u201cBeloved, let us love one another for love is from God and whoever loves has been born of God and knows God. Anyone who does not love does not know God because God is love. In this the love of God was made manifest among us, that God sent His only Son to the world so that we\u201d\u2014\n\t\t\t<\/p>\n\t\t\t<p>\n\t\t\t\t<strong>14:00<\/strong>\n\t\t\t<\/p>\n\t\t\t<p>\n\t\t\t\t<strong>\u00a0<\/strong>\n\t\t\t<\/p>\n\t\t\t<p>\n\t\t\t\t\u2014catch this\u2014\u201cthat we might live through Him. In this is love, not that we have loved God, but that He loved us and sent His Son to be the propitiation for our sins. Beloved, if God so loves us, we also ought to love one another. No one has ever seen God. If we love one another, God abides in us and His love is perfected in us. There is no fear in love, but perfect love casts out all fear.\u201d\u00a0 \n\t\t\t<\/p>\n\t\t\t<p>\n\t\t\t\tListen, I\u2019m convinced God wants you and me to enroll in His school and learn from this Book how He loves us so that we can, in turn, learn to love our wife \/ our husband, our children, our extended family members. \n\t\t\t<\/p>\n\t\t\t<p>\n\t\t\t\t<strong>15:00<\/strong>\n\t\t\t<\/p>\n\t\t\t<p>\n\t\t\t\tI look back on how we started our marriage\u2014it really was puppy love. I don\u2019t know where I am\u2014in the graduate school\u2014but it sure feels like I\u2019m signing up for a PhD in this thing because I\u2019m moving on toward five decades of being in this school. So, just like when you go to school and you learn the three \u201cR\u2019s\u201d\u2014writing, reading, and arithmetic\u2014I want to give you three \u201cR\u2019s\u201d for how you can learn the love of God, yourself. \n\t\t\t<\/p>\n\t\t\t<p>\n\t\t\t\tNumber one, <em>receive<\/em> God\u2019s love. Look here at verse 9 and 10; do you see it?\u00a0 Verse 9 and 10 says there: \u201cIn this the love of God was made manifest among us, that God sent His only Son into the world so that we might live through Him.\u201d Some of you in this room have wondered, \u201cWhy do I not know how to love?\u201d\u00a0 Well, it may be you\u2019re not alive, spiritually. You\u2019ve not been born again. \n\t\t\t<\/p>\n\t\t\t<p>\n\t\t\t\t<strong>16:00<\/strong>\n\t\t\t<\/p>\n\t\t\t<p>\n\t\t\t\t<strong>\u00a0<\/strong>\n\t\t\t<\/p>\n\t\t\t<p>\n\t\t\t\tYou don\u2019t know the One who came to teach us how to love. \n\t\t\t<\/p>\n\t\t\t<p>\n\t\t\t\tI would just challenge you: \u201cIf you\u2019re unsure of where you will spend eternity\u2014if you\u2019re unsure if you really know how to love and you feel like: \u2018I\u2019ve really\u2014I\u2019ve not done that. I don\u2019t know how to love,\u2019 then, why not receive the God of love\u2014receive His forgiveness?\u201d\u00a0 It is what teaches us how to love another human being. \n\t\t\t<\/p>\n\t\t\t<p>\n\t\t\t\tSecondly\u2014second \u201cR\u201d\u2014not only receive God\u2019s love but, secondly, <em>renew<\/em> your mind. Renew your mind. Romans, Chapter 12, says, \u201cDon\u2019t be conformed to the world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind.\u201d\u00a0 Because the world has done such an effective job of brainwashing our minds, we\u2019re in need of getting a new blueprint for what God\u2019s love looks like in a marriage relationship.\n\t\t\t<\/p>\n\t\t\t<p>\n\t\t\t\t<strong>17:00<\/strong>\n\t\t\t<\/p>\n\t\t\t<p>\n\t\t\t\t<strong>\u00a0<\/strong>\n\t\t\t<\/p>\n\t\t\t<p>\n\t\t\t\tDid you know\u2014when the FBI trains its agents in how to spot a counterfeit bill\u2014they do not spend all of their time looking at phony $100 bills \/ phony $50 bills?\u00a0 They spend all of their time looking at the real thing so, when the counterfeit comes along, they can spot it. \n\t\t\t<\/p>\n\t\t\t<p>\n\t\t\t\tI\u2019m going to tell you something: Five decades\u2014I\u2019m beginning my fifth decade in this school\u2014even while I\u2019ve been here, I have caught myself thinking as the world would think about my wife, and about her performance, and what I\u2019m expecting of her and me needing to replace my way of thinking\u2014the world\u2019s way of thinking\u2014with God\u2019s way, which is: \u201cYou don\u2019t hurl an insult for an insult; instead, you learn the art of loving and you go to school.\u201d\n\t\t\t<\/p>\n\t\t\t<p>\n\t\t\t\t<strong>18:00<\/strong>\n\t\t\t<\/p>\n\t\t\t<p>\n\t\t\t\t<strong>\u00a0<\/strong>\n\t\t\t<\/p>\n\t\t\t<p>\n\t\t\t\tLast one is the \u201cR\u201d of <em>reproducing<\/em> the fruit of the Spirit. Some of you are going to be able to finish quoting the verse before I do. It\u2019s Galatians, Chapter 5, verse 22. Here is the thing\u2014Jesus went to heaven and He said: \u201cI go to heaven, and I\u2019m going to send to you the Helper because He\u2019s going to help you do things you\u2019d like to be able to do. It\u2019s to your advantage that I leave,\u201d Jesus said. Now, that\u2019s a phenomenal statement\u2014but the Holy Spirit came to produce His fruit in our lives. And in Galatians, Chapter 5, verse 22, Paul writes, \u201cBut the fruit of the Spirit is love.\u201d\u00a0 \n\t\t\t<\/p>\n\t\t\t<p>\n\t\t\t\tAnybody here have a hard time loving an imperfect person?\u00a0 \n\t\t\t<\/p>\n\t\t\t<p>\n\t\t\t\t<strong>19:00<\/strong>\n\t\t\t<\/p>\n\t\t\t<p>\n\t\t\t\t<strong>\u00a0<\/strong>\n\t\t\t<\/p>\n\t\t\t<p>\n\t\t\t\tWhy wouldn\u2019t we want to cry out, call upon, and ask the Holy Spirit of God to instruct us, and comfort us, and show us how to love our spouses?\u00a0 Secondly, be intentional about becoming a student of love. Enroll for a lifetime of being tutored\u2014a lifetime. \n\t\t\t<\/p>\n\t\t\t<p>\n\t\t\t\tNumber three\u2014listen up on this one. This is important\u2014be intentional about forgiving your spouse. Ephesians 4:32 says, \u201cBe tenderhearted\u201d\u2014let\u2019s see if it\u2019s up here, yes\u2014\u201cbe kind to one another, tenderhearted, forgiving one another just as God in Christ forgave you.\u201d\u00a0 When I read this out loud to Barbara\u2014as I was just doing a little preparation, while I was here\u2014she said: \u201cYou know, we don\u2019t know how to love because we didn\u2019t know the God of love. We don\u2019t know how to forgive because we don\u2019t understand how God has forgiven us.\u201d\n\t\t\t<\/p>\n\t\t\t<p>\n\t\t\t\t<strong>20:00<\/strong>\n\t\t\t<\/p>\n\t\t\t<p>\n\t\t\t\t<strong>\u00a0<\/strong>\n\t\t\t<\/p>\n\t\t\t<p>\n\t\t\t\tAnd this is how we practice forgiveness in a marriage relationship. Forgiveness\u2014forgiveness is needed in all marriages because conflict is common in all marriages. \n\t\t\t<\/p>\n\t\t\t<p>\n\t\t\t\t[Studio]\u00a0 \n\t\t\t<\/p>\n\t\t\t<p>\n\t\t\t\t<strong>Bob: <\/strong>Well, we\u2019ve been listening to the first part of a message from Dennis Rainey\u2014a message from aboard the 2014 <em>Love Like You Mean It<\/em> marriage cruise, back in February. The issue of forgiveness\u2014you\u2019re just not going to make it in marriage unless you know how to forgive one another; are you?\u00a0 \n\t\t\t<\/p>\n\t\t\t<p>\n\t\t\t\t<strong>Dennis: <\/strong>If you don\u2019t know how to forgive well, you\u2019re not going to know how to love well. It\u2019s just a key component of love. I\u2019ll tell you, Bob, I think this is a subject that we must train our children in understanding and in practicing. If there should be\u2014if your family was anything like ours\u2014plenty of opportunities\u2014\n\t\t\t<\/p>\n\t\t\t<p>\n\t\t\t\t<strong>Bob: <\/strong>Lots of opportunities; yes. \n\t\t\t<\/p>\n\t\t\t<p>\n\t\t\t\t<strong>Dennis: <\/strong>\u2014to apply it\u2014help them apply it\u2014sibling rivalry. \n\t\t\t<\/p>\n\t\t\t<p>\n\t\t\t\t<strong>21:00<\/strong>\n\t\t\t<\/p>\n\t\t\t<p>\n\t\t\t\t<strong>\u00a0<\/strong>\n\t\t\t<\/p>\n\t\t\t<p>\n\t\t\t\tBut it really is, I think, one of the most important things in a marriage to maintain. \n\t\t\t<\/p>\n\t\t\t<p>\n\t\t\t\tAnd I think\u2014for the listener, right now\u2014just take a quick inventory: \u201cAre you holding anything against your spouse right now?\u2014last 24 hours?\u2014 48?\u2014last week?\u2014something that stuck in your craw, you know, that you just haven\u2019t let go of and you\u2019re ticked \/ you\u2019re angry?\u2014you\u2019re still punishing him or her?\u201d\u00a0 This would be a good application for today\u2019s broadcast. You don\u2019t have to go on a cruise to forgive your spouse. You can do that right where you are, right now. \n\t\t\t<\/p>\n\t\t\t<p>\n\t\t\t\t<strong>Bob: <\/strong>But you know what?\u00a0 One of the things I love about getting together with listeners and being onboard the <em>Love Like You Mean It<\/em> marriage cruise is that it\u2019s a beautiful location\u2014great ports of call. And I\u2019ll tell you, Bob, one of the things that I think we underestimate is\u2014when you get a ship of 2,000 people that are all there for, generally, the same purpose\u2014they are there to sharpen their marriages and their families\u2014when you get 2,000 people together, and there is nobody else except the crew\u2014we leave a huge impact on the crew, trust me\u2014but we also impact each other. \n\t\t\t<\/p>\n\t\t\t<p>\n\t\t\t\t<strong>Bob: <\/strong>Well, and I want to remind listeners that we are really close to being sold out for the cruise for 2015. Really, it\u2019s fun to be able to share that with our friends. \n\t\t\t<\/p>\n\t\t\t<p>\n\t\t\t\t<strong>Bob: <\/strong>The last night on the cruise, before we gathered everybody together and had a vow renewal ceremony,\u2014\n\t\t\t<\/p>\n\t\t\t<p>\n\t\t\t\t<strong>Dennis: <\/strong>Right. \n\t\t\t<\/p>\n\t\t\t<p>\n\t\t\t\t<strong>Bob: <\/strong>\u2014we had the chance to hear you share a little bit about the importance of our legacy\u2014having a long view, when we come to thinking about our lives and our marriages. \n\t\t\t<\/p>\n\t\t\t<p>\n\t\t\t\t<strong>Dennis: <\/strong>Yes, I don\u2019t think we talk enough about this, Bob. I think we need to take steps backward\u2014and reflect on our lives, and think about the choices we\u2019re making, the legacy we are leaving, and what kind of message we are sending to the next generation because all of us are sending some kind of message. \n\t\t\t<\/p>\n\t\t\t<p>\n\t\t\t\t<strong>Bob: <\/strong>Well, as we\u2019re going to hear today, it is important for every one of us to be intentional when it comes to our legacy. \n\t\t\t<\/p>\n\t\t\t<p>\n\t\t\t\t<strong>4:00<\/strong>\n\t\t\t<\/p>\n\t\t\t<p>\n\t\t\t\t[Recorded Message]\u00a0 \n\t\t\t<\/p>\n\t\t\t<p>\n\t\t\t\t<strong>Dennis: <\/strong>A number of years ago, I had the privilege of watching my baseball team, the Cardinals, play in the World Series. [Cheering]\u00a0 Yes, alright. Unfortunately, we weren\u2019t doing too well in this one game. I had my son there with me\u2014Benjamin. \n\t\t\t<\/p>\n\t\t\t<p>\n\t\t\t\tThe guy who had hosted us turned to me and Ben. He turned to Ben and he said, \u201cBen, what one word would you use to describe your dad?\u201d\u00a0 I thought: \u201cOh, this is going to be good!\u00a0 It\u2019s going to be \u2018love, kind, generous\u2014great dad.\u2019\u00a0 What\u2019s he going to say?\u201d\u00a0 So, I listened. Ben said, \u201cOh, that\u2019s easy\u2014intentional.\u201d\u00a0 [Laughter]\u00a0 I looked at my son. I said: \u201cSon, you come from better stock than that!\u00a0 You can do a better word than that; can\u2019t you?\u201d\u00a0 He goes: \u201cNo. Dad, that defines you. That\u2019s who you are. You are intentional\u2014\n\t\t\t<\/p>\n\t\t\t<p>\n\t\t\t\t<strong>5:00<\/strong>\n\t\t\t<\/p>\n\t\t\t<p>\n\t\t\t\t<strong>\u00a0<\/strong>\n\t\t\t<\/p>\n\t\t\t<p>\n\t\t\t\t\u2014\u201cas you\u2019ve raised us kids, as you love Mom. As we go about our family, you are very intentional about what you do.\u201d\u00a0 \n\t\t\t<\/p>\n\t\t\t<p>\n\t\t\t\tSo, the next time our family got together, I got them all together. I said, \u201cNow, what do you all think about this word that Ben used to describe me?\u201d They all started nodding their heads. So, I decided I had to learn to like it! [Laughter]\u00a0 Actually, it is a good word because being intentional for the right thing can make a huge difference. So, as you leave here, I\u2019m going to challenge you to be intentional as you build your marriage and family. \n\t\t\t<\/p>\n\t\t\t<p>\n\t\t\t\tI want to begin my time by turning to the words of the conclusion of our Savior in His most famous sermon that He ever gave. It was the Sermon on the Mount. It\u2019s interesting\u2014as Jesus concludes this most quoted sermon that Jesus ever gave\u2014how he talks about two home builders. \n\t\t\t<\/p>\n\t\t\t<p>\n\t\t\t\t<strong>6:00<\/strong>\n\t\t\t<\/p>\n\t\t\t<p>\n\t\t\t\t<strong>\u00a0<\/strong>\n\t\t\t<\/p>\n\t\t\t<p>\n\t\t\t\tListen carefully. Matthew 7, verse 24, \u201cEveryone then who hears these words of mine and does them will be like a wise man who built his house on the rock. The rain fell and the floods came and the winds blew and beat on that house, but it did not fall because it had been founded on the rock. And everyone who hears these words of mine and does not do them will be like a foolish man who built his house on the sand. The rain fell and the floods came and the winds blew and beat against that house, and it fell and great was its fall.\u201d\u00a0 \n\t\t\t<\/p>\n\t\t\t<p>\n\t\t\t\tJesus talked about two architects, with two different sets of blueprints, and two different builders, with two different outcomes. \n\t\t\t<\/p>\n\t\t\t<p>\n\t\t\t\t<strong>7:00<\/strong>\n\t\t\t<\/p>\n\t\t\t<p>\n\t\t\t\t<strong>\u00a0<\/strong>\n\t\t\t<\/p>\n\t\t\t<p>\n\t\t\t\tOne common element\u2014they had trouble \/ they had storms. He basically said: \u201cIf you hear these words of mine and you do not do them, you will be like a foolish man who built his house on the sand.\u201d\u00a0 When the storm and the wind blew against that house, He said, \u201cIt fell and great was its fall.\u201d\u00a0 \n\t\t\t<\/p>\n\t\t\t<p>\n\t\t\t\tThere are two falls in the Bible. Well, let\u2019s talk about the fall of man in Genesis, Chapter 3. Adam and Eve disobeyed God and ate of the fruit. That was the fall. This fall that Jesus talks about in Matthew, Chapter 7, is talking about the fall of a home\u2014the fall of a family. When a family falls, it impacts generations. It has an impact upon a time you will not see. \n\t\t\t<\/p>\n\t\t\t<p>\n\t\t\t\t<strong>8:00<\/strong>\n\t\t\t<\/p>\n\t\t\t<p>\n\t\t\t\tBut the difference between the foolish man, who heard the words of Christ and didn\u2019t do them, and the man who did hear the words of Christ\u2014heard them and obeyed them\u2014was that his house was compared to that of building it on a rock foundation. \n\t\t\t<\/p>\n\t\t\t<p>\n\t\t\t\tNow, I want to talk with you about five things that you need to be intentional about as you go back home. Five that I believe really do count over the long-haul. \n\t\t\t<\/p>\n\t\t\t<p>\n\t\t\t\tNumber one\u2014you need to be intentional about keeping your promise\u2014keeping your promise. Earlier in the Sermon on the Mount, Jesus had said, in Matthew 5:37, \u201cLet your yes be yes and your no be no.\u201d\u00a0 He talked about keeping your word \/ fulfilling your promise. Now, think about it for a moment. Your marriage started with a promise. \n\t\t\t<\/p>\n\t\t\t<p>\n\t\t\t\t<strong>9:00<\/strong>\n\t\t\t<\/p>\n\t\t\t<p>\n\t\t\t\t<strong>\u00a0<\/strong>\n\t\t\t<\/p>\n\t\t\t<p>\n\t\t\t\tTwo imperfect people stood before a pastor, and their friends, and family. They gave each other a promise. That\u2019s what set your relationship apart from all the other six billion people on the planet\u2014two people making a promise to one another. \n\t\t\t<\/p>\n\t\t\t<p>\n\t\t\t\tBut what\u2019s happening today with that promise?\u00a0 It\u2019s falling apart. It\u2019s like the foolish man, who makes a commitment, but builds his house on the sand because he has no intention of obeying Jesus Christ. Be intentional about your promise. \n\t\t\t<\/p>\n\t\t\t<p>\n\t\t\t\tI love this quote by Julia Wood. Listen carefully. She said, \u201cThe hallmark of commitment is the assumption of a future.\u201d\u00a0 I really like that. \u201cThe hallmark of commitment is the assumption of a future.\u201d\u00a0 \n\t\t\t<\/p>\n\t\t\t<p>\n\t\t\t\t<strong>10:00<\/strong>\n\t\t\t<\/p>\n\t\t\t<p>\n\t\t\t\t<strong>\u00a0<\/strong>\n\t\t\t<\/p>\n\t\t\t<p>\n\t\t\t\tWhat is the promise that two people who marry one another make? \u201c\u2026till death do us part.\u201d\u00a0 Our commitment is more than just not getting a divorce. It\u2019s a promise to love, honor, and cherish, and protect, and remain faithful to one another. \n\t\t\t<\/p>\n\t\t\t<p>\n\t\t\t\tYears ago, when we started FamilyLife, we started with the <em>Weekend to Remember<\/em><sup>\u00ae<\/sup>\u2014it wasn\u2019t called that in those early years, in the late 70s\u2014but we couldn\u2019t afford to fly our wives to the conferences. So, there would be two of us guys go to the conference; and we\u2019d speak on marriage and family. One guy would give the talk to the husbands, and the other guy would give the talk to the wives\u2014that just wasn\u2019t flying real good\u2014you know?\u00a0 [Laughter]\u00a0 \n\t\t\t<\/p>\n\t\t\t<p>\n\t\t\t\tSo, we found the money, somehow, to get our wives to go give that message at the conference. \n\t\t\t<\/p>\n\t\t\t<p>\n\t\t\t\t<strong>11:00<\/strong>\n\t\t\t<\/p>\n\t\t\t<p>\n\t\t\t\tAt one of these conferences\u2014I\u2019ll never forget this. This is a true story. Saint Louis, Missouri\u2014excuse me, Kansas City, Missouri\u2014it was on Saturday evening, after the conference had been going for a couple of days. I had tucked myself into bed. I\u2019d called Barbara, back with the kids. At that point, I think we had four or five kids\u2014there was a lot going on in our family. I was exhausted. I put my feet up. I turned the TV on to watch a movie, and the phone rang. \n\t\t\t<\/p>\n\t\t\t<p>\n\t\t\t\tI picked it up. I said, \u201cHello?\u201d\u00a0 A woman\u2019s voice, on the other end, said: \u201cHi!\u00a0 What are you doing?\u201d\u00a0 I said, \u201cWell, I\u2019m watching a movie.\u201d\u00a0 She said, \u201cWell, could I come up?\u201d\u00a0 And this is just how it happened. I said\u2014instantly\u2014I said, \u201cThat wouldn\u2019t be a good idea.\u201d\u00a0 She said, \u201cWell, why?\u201d\u00a0 \n\t\t\t<\/p>\n\t\t\t<p>\n\t\t\t\t<strong>12:00<\/strong>\n\t\t\t<\/p>\n\t\t\t<p>\n\t\t\t\t<strong>\u00a0<\/strong>\n\t\t\t<\/p>\n\t\t\t<p>\n\t\t\t\tI said: \u201cFor two reasons. Number one, I <em>really<\/em> love my wife. She is a magnet that draws me, from all over the country, back home to my family. I wouldn\u2019t want to do anything to betray her. And number two, the movie I\u2019m watching is <em>The Ten Commandments<\/em>.\u201d\u00a0 [Laughter]\u00a0 Yes. \n\t\t\t<\/p>\n\t\t\t<p>\n\t\t\t\tHere\u2019s the thing: \u201cKeep your promise\u2014keep your promise.\u201d\u00a0 It is <em>the<\/em> most sacred pledge two imperfect, broken, selfish human beings ever make with one another; but it produces the hope of a future. \n\t\t\t<\/p>\n\t\t\t<p>\n\t\t\t\tSecondly, be intentional about becoming a student of God\u2019s love. Now, here is the problem. \n\t\t\t<\/p>\n\t\t\t<p>\n\t\t\t\t<strong>13:00<\/strong>\n\t\t\t<\/p>\n\t\t\t<p>\n\t\t\t\tThe problem is\u2014we are born selfish and, secondly, we are indoctrinated \/ brainwashed by the world and the world\u2019s view of love. Hollywood has done a masterful job. So much so that, when I had the opportunity to kind of sit back and think about this, I really did come to this conclusion: \u201cThat for the past four decades, I have been enrolled in God\u2019s school of love\u2014me learning how to love my wife and my children.\u201d\u00a0 \n\t\t\t<\/p>\n\t\t\t<p>\n\t\t\t\tI want you to look at this passage of Scripture\u20141 John, Chapter 4, verse 7: \u201cBeloved, let us love one another for love is from God and whoever loves has been born of God and knows God. Anyone who does not love does not know God because God is love. In this the love of God was made manifest among us, that God sent His only Son to the world so that we\u201d\u2014\n\t\t\t<\/p>\n\t\t\t<p>\n\t\t\t\t<strong>14:00<\/strong>\n\t\t\t<\/p>\n\t\t\t<p>\n\t\t\t\t<strong>\u00a0<\/strong>\n\t\t\t<\/p>\n\t\t\t<p>\n\t\t\t\t\u2014catch this\u2014\u201cthat we might live through Him. In this is love, not that we have loved God, but that He loved us and sent His Son to be the propitiation for our sins. Beloved, if God so loves us, we also ought to love one another. No one has ever seen God. If we love one another, God abides in us and His love is perfected in us. There is no fear in love, but perfect love casts out all fear.\u201d\u00a0 \n\t\t\t<\/p>\n\t\t\t<p>\n\t\t\t\tListen, I\u2019m convinced God wants you and me to enroll in His school and learn from this Book how He loves us so that we can, in turn, learn to love our wife \/ our husband, our children, our extended family members. \n\t\t\t<\/p>\n\t\t\t<p>\n\t\t\t\t<strong>15:00<\/strong>\n\t\t\t<\/p>\n\t\t\t<p>\n\t\t\t\tI look back on how we started our marriage\u2014it really was puppy love. I don\u2019t know where I am\u2014in the graduate school\u2014but it sure feels like I\u2019m signing up for a PhD in this thing because I\u2019m moving on toward five decades of being in this school. So, just like when you go to school and you learn the three \u201cR\u2019s\u201d\u2014writing, reading, and arithmetic\u2014I want to give you three \u201cR\u2019s\u201d for how you can learn the love of God, yourself. \n\t\t\t<\/p>\n\t\t\t<p>\n\t\t\t\tNumber one, <em>receive<\/em> God\u2019s love. Look here at verse 9 and 10; do you see it?\u00a0 Verse 9 and 10 says there: \u201cIn this the love of God was made manifest among us, that God sent His only Son into the world so that we might live through Him.\u201d Some of you in this room have wondered, \u201cWhy do I not know how to love?\u201d\u00a0 Well, it may be you\u2019re not alive, spiritually. You\u2019ve not been born again. \n\t\t\t<\/p>\n\t\t\t<p>\n\t\t\t\t<strong>16:00<\/strong>\n\t\t\t<\/p>\n\t\t\t<p>\n\t\t\t\t<strong>\u00a0<\/strong>\n\t\t\t<\/p>\n\t\t\t<p>\n\t\t\t\tYou don\u2019t know the One who came to teach us how to love. \n\t\t\t<\/p>\n\t\t\t<p>\n\t\t\t\tI would just challenge you: \u201cIf you\u2019re unsure of where you will spend eternity\u2014if you\u2019re unsure if you really know how to love and you feel like: \u2018I\u2019ve really\u2014I\u2019ve not done that. I don\u2019t know how to love,\u2019 then, why not receive the God of love\u2014receive His forgiveness?\u201d\u00a0 It is what teaches us how to love another human being. \n\t\t\t<\/p>\n\t\t\t<p>\n\t\t\t\tSecondly\u2014second \u201cR\u201d\u2014not only receive God\u2019s love but, secondly, <em>renew<\/em> your mind. Renew your mind. Romans, Chapter 12, says, \u201cDon\u2019t be conformed to the world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind.\u201d\u00a0 Because the world has done such an effective job of brainwashing our minds, we\u2019re in need of getting a new blueprint for what God\u2019s love looks like in a marriage relationship.\n\t\t\t<\/p>\n\t\t\t<p>\n\t\t\t\t<strong>17:00<\/strong>\n\t\t\t<\/p>\n\t\t\t<p>\n\t\t\t\t<strong>\u00a0<\/strong>\n\t\t\t<\/p>\n\t\t\t<p>\n\t\t\t\tDid you know\u2014when the FBI trains its agents in how to spot a counterfeit bill\u2014they do not spend all of their time looking at phony $100 bills \/ phony $50 bills?\u00a0 They spend all of their time looking at the real thing so, when the counterfeit comes along, they can spot it. \n\t\t\t<\/p>\n\t\t\t<p>\n\t\t\t\tI\u2019m going to tell you something: Five decades\u2014I\u2019m beginning my fifth decade in this school\u2014even while I\u2019ve been here, I have caught myself thinking as the world would think about my wife, and about her performance, and what I\u2019m expecting of her and me needing to replace my way of thinking\u2014the world\u2019s way of thinking\u2014with God\u2019s way, which is: \u201cYou don\u2019t hurl an insult for an insult; instead, you learn the art of loving and you go to school.\u201d\n\t\t\t<\/p>\n\t\t\t<p>\n\t\t\t\t<strong>18:00<\/strong>\n\t\t\t<\/p>\n\t\t\t<p>\n\t\t\t\t<strong>\u00a0<\/strong>\n\t\t\t<\/p>\n\t\t\t<p>\n\t\t\t\tLast one is the \u201cR\u201d of <em>reproducing<\/em> the fruit of the Spirit. Some of you are going to be able to finish quoting the verse before I do. It\u2019s Galatians, Chapter 5, verse 22. Here is the thing\u2014Jesus went to heaven and He said: \u201cI go to heaven, and I\u2019m going to send to you the Helper because He\u2019s going to help you do things you\u2019d like to be able to do. It\u2019s to your advantage that I leave,\u201d Jesus said. Now, that\u2019s a phenomenal statement\u2014but the Holy Spirit came to produce His fruit in our lives. And in Galatians, Chapter 5, verse 22, Paul writes, \u201cBut the fruit of the Spirit is love.\u201d\u00a0 \n\t\t\t<\/p>\n\t\t\t<p>\n\t\t\t\tAnybody here have a hard time loving an imperfect person?\u00a0 \n\t\t\t<\/p>\n\t\t\t<p>\n\t\t\t\t<strong>19:00<\/strong>\n\t\t\t<\/p>\n\t\t\t<p>\n\t\t\t\t<strong>\u00a0<\/strong>\n\t\t\t<\/p>\n\t\t\t<p>\n\t\t\t\tWhy wouldn\u2019t we want to cry out, call upon, and ask the Holy Spirit of God to instruct us, and comfort us, and show us how to love our spouses?\u00a0 Secondly, be intentional about becoming a student of love. Enroll for a lifetime of being tutored\u2014a lifetime. \n\t\t\t<\/p>\n\t\t\t<p>\n\t\t\t\tNumber three\u2014listen up on this one. This is important\u2014be intentional about forgiving your spouse. Ephesians 4:32 says, \u201cBe tenderhearted\u201d\u2014let\u2019s see if it\u2019s up here, yes\u2014\u201cbe kind to one another, tenderhearted, forgiving one another just as God in Christ forgave you.\u201d\u00a0 When I read this out loud to Barbara\u2014as I was just doing a little preparation, while I was here\u2014she said: \u201cYou know, we don\u2019t know how to love because we didn\u2019t know the God of love. We don\u2019t know how to forgive because we don\u2019t understand how God has forgiven us.\u201d\n\t\t\t<\/p>\n\t\t\t<p>\n\t\t\t\t<strong>20:00<\/strong>\n\t\t\t<\/p>\n\t\t\t<p>\n\t\t\t\t<strong>\u00a0<\/strong>\n\t\t\t<\/p>\n\t\t\t<p>\n\t\t\t\tAnd this is how we practice forgiveness in a marriage relationship. Forgiveness\u2014forgiveness is needed in all marriages because conflict is common in all marriages. \n\t\t\t<\/p>\n\t\t\t<p>\n\t\t\t\t[Studio]\u00a0 \n\t\t\t<\/p>\n\t\t\t<p>\n\t\t\t\t<strong>Bob: <\/strong>Well, we\u2019ve been listening to the first part of a message from Dennis Rainey\u2014a message from aboard the 2014 <em>Love Like You Mean It<\/em> marriage cruise, back in February. The issue of forgiveness\u2014you\u2019re just not going to make it in marriage unless you know how to forgive one another; are you?\u00a0 \n\t\t\t<\/p>\n\t\t\t<p>\n\t\t\t\t<strong>Dennis: <\/strong>If you don\u2019t know how to forgive well, you\u2019re not going to know how to love well. It\u2019s just a key component of love. I\u2019ll tell you, Bob, I think this is a subject that we must train our children in understanding and in practicing. If there should be\u2014if your family was anything like ours\u2014plenty of opportunities\u2014\n\t\t\t<\/p>\n\t\t\t<p>\n\t\t\t\t<strong>Bob: <\/strong>Lots of opportunities; yes. \n\t\t\t<\/p>\n\t\t\t<p>\n\t\t\t\t<strong>Dennis: <\/strong>\u2014to apply it\u2014help them apply it\u2014sibling rivalry. \n\t\t\t<\/p>\n\t\t\t<p>\n\t\t\t\t<strong>21:00<\/strong>\n\t\t\t<\/p>\n\t\t\t<p>\n\t\t\t\t<strong>\u00a0<\/strong>\n\t\t\t<\/p>\n\t\t\t<p>\n\t\t\t\tBut it really is, I think, one of the most important things in a marriage to maintain. \n\t\t\t<\/p>\n\t\t\t<p>\n\t\t\t\tAnd I think\u2014for the listener, right now\u2014just take a quick inventory: \u201cAre you holding anything against your spouse right now?\u2014last 24 hours?\u2014 48?\u2014last week?\u2014something that stuck in your craw, you know, that you just haven\u2019t let go of and you\u2019re ticked \/ you\u2019re angry?\u2014you\u2019re still punishing him or her?\u201d\u00a0 This would be a good application for today\u2019s broadcast. You don\u2019t have to go on a cruise to forgive your spouse. You can do that right where you are, right now. \n\t\t\t<\/p>\n\t\t\t<p>\n\t\t\t\t<strong>Bob: <\/strong>But you know what?\u00a0 One of the things I love about getting together with listeners and being onboard the <em>Love Like You Mean It<\/em> marriage cruise is that it\u2019s a beautiful location\u2014great ports of call. God\u2019s at work in the midst of this cruise. \n\t\t\t<\/p>\n\t\t\t<p>\n\t\t\t\t<strong>Dennis: <\/strong>It\u2019s not overdone. And I\u2019ll tell you, Bob, one of the things that I think we underestimate is\u2014when you get a ship of 2,000 people that are all there for, generally, the same purpose\u2014they are there to sharpen their marriages and their families\u2014when you get 2,000 people together, and there is nobody else except the crew\u2014we leave a huge impact on the crew, trust me\u2014but we also impact each other. \n\t\t\t<\/p>\n\t\t\t<p>\n\t\t\t\t<strong>Bob: <\/strong>Well, and I want to remind listeners that we are really close to being sold out for the cruise for 2015.
