I sat there with my guitar and had this little campfire [Humming and singing]\u2014\u201cIt\u2019s obvious we\u2019ve run the course.\u201d\u00a0 Then, we had a good laugh. Then, we went to sleep. \n\t\t\t<\/p>\n\t\t\t<p>\n\t\t\t\tAt 3 o\u2019clock in the morning, I woke up. All of a sudden, there is this one cord that I had for that opening line of the verse. I started playing that cord\u2014and I go: \u201cNobody\u2019s growing old together. We\u2019ve made it easy just to quit.\u201d\u00a0 [Guitar strumming in the background]\u00a0 Then, all of a sudden, at that moment, God said, \u201cChris, this song\u2019s not supposed to be about divorce. I\u2019m a big fan. \n\t\t\t<\/p>\n\t\t\t<p>\n\t\t\t\t<strong>Bob: <\/strong>Okay, well, I just wanted you to have that. That makes it worth ten cents at a garage sale. \n\t\t\t<\/p>\n\t\t\t<p>\n\t\t\t\t<strong>Chris: <\/strong>Awesome. \n\t\t\t<\/p>\n\t\t\t<p>\n\t\t\t\t<br><strong>Dennis: <\/strong>Well, if you don\u2019t know Chris August, he has been nominated for a number of Dove Awards. Count them\u2014five in one year\u2014and he won three Dove Awards, including the Male Vocalist of the Year. \n\t\t\t<\/p>\n\t\t\t<p>\n\t\t\t\tI know he is talented and really smart, but he really pulled an interesting move in coming on a cruise because he is <em>single<\/em>. With 2,000 married people, he\u2019s <em>single<\/em> at a <em>Love Like You Mean It<\/em> cruise. \n\t\t\t<\/p>\n\t\t\t<p>\n\t\t\t\t<strong>Bob: <\/strong>What were you thinking, Chris?\u00a0 \n\t\t\t<\/p>\n\t\t\t<p>\n\t\t\t\t<strong>Chris: <\/strong>I was literally thinking about all that free pizza. [Laughter]\u00a0 As a bachelor, that\u2019s what I\u2019m used to. \n\t\t\t<\/p>\n\t\t\t<p>\n\t\t\t\t<strong>Bob: <\/strong>Yes. \n\t\t\t<\/p>\n\t\t\t<p>\n\t\t\t\t<strong>Chris: <\/strong>Not free\u2014but this time, it\u2019s free. No, you know I\u2014honestly, I just\u2014it\u2019s relaxing to turn your phone off; you know?\u2014unless you want to pay some pretty crazy fees. I don\u2019t want to pay those. \n\t\t\t<\/p>\n\t\t\t<p>\n\t\t\t\t<strong>Dennis: <\/strong>Tell us about your\u2014the family you grew up in\u2014\n\t\t\t<\/p>\n\t\t\t<p>\n\t\t\t\t<strong>5:00<\/strong>\n\t\t\t<\/p>\n\t\t\t<p>\n\t\t\t\t<strong>\u00a0<\/strong>\n\t\t\t<\/p>\n\t\t\t<p>\n\t\t\t\t\u2014where you grew up, as a boy, and what life was like for you. \n\t\t\t<\/p>\n\t\t\t<p>\n\t\t\t\t<strong>Chris: <\/strong>Yes, well, I grew up outside of Dallas, Texas. For some reason, anytime you say, \u201cDallas,\u201d people automatically just go, \u201cAre you a Cowboy\u2019s fan?\u201d\u00a0 I\u2019m like, \u201cWell, yes.\u201d\u00a0 And then, they get mad at you. I\u2019m like, \u201cWell, you asked me\u201d; you know?\u00a0 And so\u2014but that\u2019s so\u2014yes, let\u2019s just put that out there\u2014for better or for worse. \n\t\t\t<\/p>\n\t\t\t<p>\n\t\t\t\tBut yes, I grew up just kind of\u2014come from that broken home \/ broken family thing; but for years, I think I just told myself, \u201cWell, these are just the cards I\u2019ve been dealt.\u201d\u00a0 I never even thought about it honestly. I went years just going, \u201cWhatever.\u201d\u00a0 I can remember it was a lot of fighting, growing up. I\u2019m sure that happens in marriages that don\u2019t end up broken\u2014but it just\u2014it was hard\u2014a lot of the stuff that I dealt with. \n\t\t\t<\/p>\n\t\t\t<p>\n\t\t\t\t<strong>Dennis: <\/strong>When did you first find your parents beginning to experience trouble?\u2014from the start\u2014when you were a child?\u00a0 \n\t\t\t<\/p>\n\t\t\t<p>\n\t\t\t\t<strong>Chris: <\/strong>I was probably in second grade or so. That\u2019s when there was someone not really living at the house. \n\t\t\t<\/p>\n\t\t\t<p>\n\t\t\t\t<strong>6:00<\/strong>\n\t\t\t<\/p>\n\t\t\t<p>\n\t\t\t\t<strong>\u00a0<\/strong>\n\t\t\t<\/p>\n\t\t\t<p>\n\t\t\t\tI mean, back then, you\u2019re like, \u201cWhat\u2019s going on?\u201d\u00a0 Then, I think the first time that I really realized something was really wrong\u2014there were a couple things that happened. \n\t\t\t<\/p>\n\t\t\t<p>\n\t\t\t\tThe first one was\u2014my dad was living in this apartment complex nearby. I was over there with my little sister\u2014she\u2019s a couple years younger\u2014and we\u2019re just kids. I can just remember my dad\u2014he was having a really hard time with it. I was kind of in one room, and he was in the other room. You could see through this little doorway, and he was just kind of on his knees. He was just calling us to come over and give him a hug, and he was just crying. \n\t\t\t<\/p>\n\t\t\t<p>\n\t\t\t\tI will say this\u2014since I\u2019ve become a Christian artist, I wrote a song called <em>7x70<\/em>. Because of that song\u2014and this is nuts\u2014my mom actually became a Christian, just a couple years ago\u2014hearing that song. [Applause]\u00a0 Yes. \n\t\t\t<\/p>\n\t\t\t<p>\n\t\t\t\t<strong>7:00<\/strong>\n\t\t\t<\/p>\n\t\t\t<p>\n\t\t\t\t<strong>\u00a0<\/strong>\n\t\t\t<\/p>\n\t\t\t<p>\n\t\t\t\tNow, that song\u2019s about me coming from a broken home. She wasn\u2019t happy when she first heard it, but I think it just kind of opened her eyes to what forgiveness is all about. \n\t\t\t<\/p>\n\t\t\t<p>\n\t\t\t\tThere have been huge strides\u2014but I\u2019m still like, \u201cMan, I just wish that, when I go home for Thanksgiving, I didn\u2019t\u2014it\u2019s hard because I live in Nashville\u2014they live in Dallas. I\u2019m like, \u2018Okay, I can only go home for a certain amount of time. I\u2019ve got to go here, and I\u2019ve got to go here. I\u2019m like, \u2018Let\u2019s just all eat some turkey and watch the Cowboys.\u2019\u2019\u201d\u00a0 \n\t\t\t<\/p>\n\t\t\t<p>\n\t\t\t\t<strong>Dennis: <\/strong>Yes. It\u2019s like my dad did music stuff. That\u2019s how I kind of grew up around it. When making this record, I had sent my dad and my mom some demos because, you know, I\u2019m kind of\u2014you know, you\u2019ll demo the song up as you do it. So, my dad\u2014definitely, my dad had heard every song I was recording. \n\t\t\t<\/p>\n\t\t\t<p>\n\t\t\t\tWell, this song\u2014I didn\u2019t write it until literally two days before we tracked my record because\u2014and that\u2019s just because a guy that I did my record with, Ed Cash, told me I needed a personal song on my record. So, by the time she heard that song, my record was out. I never sent it to her or my dad. \n\t\t\t<\/p>\n\t\t\t<p>\n\t\t\t\t<strong>Bob: <\/strong>Wow. \n\t\t\t<\/p>\n\t\t\t<p>\n\t\t\t\t<strong>Chris: <\/strong>The first time\u2014I can remember the first time my dad heard it. I think I was driving to Atlanta or something. I had emailed my dad a copy of my record. I was like, \u201cOh, when he hears that song, it\u2019s going to be awkward\u201d; you know?\u00a0 He sent me a text\u2014it was a pretty cool text I got from him. \n\t\t\t<\/p>\n\t\t\t<p>\n\t\t\t\t<strong>Bob: <\/strong>What did he say?\u00a0 \n\t\t\t<\/p>\n\t\t\t<p>\n\t\t\t\t<strong>13:00<\/strong>\n\t\t\t<\/p>\n\t\t\t<p>\n\t\t\t\t<strong>Chris: <\/strong>He just said\u2014you know, he just apologized for his failures, as a parent. He just said, \u201cGod has the ability to take something that\u2019s broken and make it better than we ever thought it could be.\u201d\u00a0 And for me\u2014I\u2019m just saying, \u201cLook, don\u2019t forget the <em>hope<\/em> that we have in Christ.\u201d\u00a0 That\u2019s where our hope lies. It doesn\u2019t lie in what anybody else thinks of you or whatever. It\u2019s finding the hope in Him, and the forgiveness in Him, and the healing in that. \n\t\t\t<\/p>\n\t\t\t<p>\n\t\t\t\t<strong>Dennis: <\/strong>We mentioned earlier that we\u2019re doing this broadcast recording live, here on the <em>Love Like You Mean It<\/em> cruise. And your songwriting didn\u2019t stop with this song. \n\t\t\t<\/p>\n\t\t\t<p>\n\t\t\t\t<strong>Chris: <\/strong>No, no. \n\t\t\t<\/p>\n\t\t\t<p>\n\t\t\t\t<br><strong>Dennis: <\/strong>You\u2019ve written another one that is all about something special as well. \n\t\t\t<\/p>\n\t\t\t<p>\n\t\t\t\t<strong>Chris: <\/strong>You\u2019d think I\u2019d just learn my lesson. [Laughter]\u00a0 I mean, that\u2019s the thing\u2014you know, I just\u2014it\u2019s funny, like we have these doubts. Sometimes, we ask God for miracles and stuff. We look up to heaven like: \u201cSend me a sign!\u00a0 Show me a miracle!\u201d\u00a0 You know:\n\t\t\t<\/p>\n\t\t\t<p>\n\t\t\t\t<strong>14:00<\/strong>\n\t\t\t<\/p>\n\t\t\t<p>\n\t\t\t\t<strong>\u00a0<\/strong>\n\t\t\t<\/p>\n\t\t\t<p>\n\t\t\t\t\u201cStrike the tree with lightening or something.\u201d\u00a0 We are asking for something crazy. And like\u2014in the meantime, we\u2019re walking through a field of burning bushes; and we don\u2019t even realize it. Still, God is bigger than that. You know, He is bigger than it. \n\t\t\t<\/p>\n\t\t\t<p>\n\t\t\t\t<strong>Bob: <\/strong>So, what was the inspiration for the song, <em>Restore<\/em>?\u00a0 \n\t\t\t<\/p>\n\t\t\t<p>\n\t\t\t\t<strong>Chris: <\/strong>And that basically\u2014I was in India with a friend of mine, named Ian Eskelin. We were doing my second record together. We were just there on a little mission trip\u2014just me and him\u2014doing all sorts of stuff. I had never been to India. And we\u2019re driving up this mountain and going to this place called Kodaikanal in India. Really\u2014the night before\u2014me and Ian had been working all day. So, we get back. We\u2019re in our rooms. We\u2019re like: \u201cMan! We are beat.\u201d\u00a0 \n\t\t\t<\/p>\n\t\t\t<p>\n\t\t\t\tAnd so, I was joking around. I was telling him about some of these stories I\u2019d heard from <em>7x70<\/em>\u2014being like, \u201cMan, it\u2019s been so awesome!\u201d\u00a0 So, I was joking around. I said, \u201cIan\u201d\u2014I was like, \u201cLet\u2019s write a song called <em>Divorced<\/em>.\u201d\u00a0 I wanted\u2014I mean, it was\u2014\n\t\t\t<\/p>\n\t\t\t<p>\n\t\t\t\t<strong>15:00<\/strong>\n\t\t\t<\/p>\n\t\t\t<p>\n\t\t\t\t<strong>\u00a0<\/strong>\n\t\t\t<\/p>\n\t\t\t<p>\n\t\t\t\t\u2014we wouldn\u2019t be able to release it\u2014but I wanted to write this sarcastic song. I was thinking, \u201cI\u2019m going to have this hilarious song called <em>Divorced<\/em>.\u201d\u00a0 I\u2019m like: \u201cThat\u2019s not very funny.\u201d\u00a0 I\u2019m like, \u201cNot a good joke there.\u201d\u00a0 <br><br>Well, I went to sleep. At 3 o\u2019clock in the morning, I woke up. Then, all of a sudden, at that moment, God said: \u201cChris, this song is not supposed to be about divorce. This song is supposed to be about restoration.\u201d\u00a0 I just said, \u201cMan!\u201d\u00a0 So, that morning, I woke up. We got in the van to go up this mountain. I said, \u201cIan, I know we were clowning around last night, but\u201d\u2014I said\u2014\u201cthis is thick on my heart today.\u201d\u00a0 I said, \u201cWe\u2019re supposed to write this song called <em>Restore<\/em>.\u201d\u00a0 \n\t\t\t<\/p>\n\t\t\t<p>\n\t\t\t\tIt was a three-hour drive up that mountain\u2014played at this college\u2014came back down. By the time we were down off that mountain, this\u2014<em>Restore<\/em> had been written. It\u2019s another one of those things that\u2014it\u2019s actually been worse than <em>7x70<\/em>\u2014\n\t\t\t<\/p>\n\t\t\t<p>\n\t\t\t\t<strong>16:00<\/strong>\n\t\t\t<\/p>\n\t\t\t<p>\n\t\t\t\t<strong>\u00a0<\/strong>\n\t\t\t<\/p>\n\t\t\t<p>\n\t\t\t\t\u2014as far as people getting mad at me for writing it. <\/strong>So, I was joking around\u2014I said, \u201cLet\u2019s write a song called <em>Divorced<\/em>, about people getting divorced all the time. I sat there with my guitar and had this little campfire [Humming and singing]\u2014\u201cIt\u2019s obvious we\u2019ve run the course.\u201d\u00a0 Then, we had a good laugh. I\u2019m like, \u201cWell, you asked me\u201d; you know?\u00a0 And so\u2014but that\u2019s so\u2014yes, let\u2019s just put that out there\u2014for better or for worse. \n\t\t\t<\/p>\n\t\t\t<p>\n\t\t\t\tBut yes, I grew up just kind of\u2014come from that broken home \/ broken family thing; but for years, I think I just told myself, \u201cWell, these are just the cards I\u2019ve been dealt.\u201d\u00a0 I never even thought about it honestly. I went years just going, \u201cWhatever.\u201d\u00a0 I can remember it was a lot of fighting, growing up. I\u2019m sure that happens in marriages that don\u2019t end up broken\u2014but it just\u2014it was hard\u2014a lot of the stuff that I dealt with. \n\t\t\t<\/p>\n\t\t\t<p>\n\t\t\t\t<strong>Dennis: <\/strong>When did you first find your parents beginning to experience trouble?\u2014from the start\u2014when you were a child?\u00a0 \n\t\t\t<\/p>\n\t\t\t<p>\n\t\t\t\t<strong>Chris: <\/strong>I was probably in second grade or so. That\u2019s when there was someone not really living at the house. \n\t\t\t<\/p>\n\t\t\t<p>\n\t\t\t\t<strong>6:00<\/strong>\n\t\t\t<\/p>\n\t\t\t<p>\n\t\t\t\t<strong>\u00a0<\/strong>\n\t\t\t<\/p>\n\t\t\t<p>\n\t\t\t\tI mean, back then, you\u2019re like, \u201cWhat\u2019s going on?\u201d\u00a0 Then, I think the first time that I really realized something was really wrong\u2014there were a couple things that happened. \n\t\t\t<\/p>\n\t\t\t<p>\n\t\t\t\tThe first one was\u2014my dad was living in this apartment complex nearby. I was over there with my little sister\u2014she\u2019s a couple years younger\u2014and we\u2019re just kids. I can just remember my dad\u2014he was having a really hard time with it. I was kind of in one room, and he was in the other room. You could see through this little doorway, and he was just kind of on his knees. He was just calling us to come over and give him a hug, and he was just crying. \n\t\t\t<\/p>\n\t\t\t<p>\n\t\t\t\tI will say this\u2014since I\u2019ve become a Christian artist, I wrote a song called <em>7x70<\/em>. Because of that song\u2014and this is nuts\u2014my mom actually became a Christian, just a couple years ago\u2014hearing that song. [Applause]\u00a0 Yes. \n\t\t\t<\/p>\n\t\t\t<p>\n\t\t\t\t<strong>7:00<\/strong>\n\t\t\t<\/p>\n\t\t\t<p>\n\t\t\t\t<strong>\u00a0<\/strong>\n\t\t\t<\/p>\n\t\t\t<p>\n\t\t\t\tNow, that song\u2019s about me coming from a broken home. She wasn\u2019t happy when she first heard it, but I think it just kind of opened her eyes to what forgiveness is all about. \n\t\t\t<\/p>\n\t\t\t<p>\n\t\t\t\tThere have been huge strides\u2014but I\u2019m still like, \u201cMan, I just wish that, when I go home for Thanksgiving, I didn\u2019t\u2014it\u2019s hard because I live in Nashville\u2014they live in Dallas. I\u2019m like, \u2018Okay, I can only go home for a certain amount of time. I\u2019ve got to go here, and I\u2019ve got to go here. I\u2019m like, \u2018Let\u2019s just all eat some turkey and watch the Cowboys.\u2019\u2019\u201d\u00a0 \n\t\t\t<\/p>\n\t\t\t<p>\n\t\t\t\t<strong>Dennis: <\/strong>Yes. Could you sing that song?\u00a0 Would you all like to hear that song\u2014[Applause]\u2014<em>7x70<\/em>?\u00a0 \n\t\t\t<\/p>\n\t\t\t<p>\n\t\t\t\t<strong>Chris: <\/strong>Yes, I could do that. \n\t\t\t<\/p>\n\t\t\t<p>\n\t\t\t\t<strong>Dennis: <\/strong>Could you do it?\u00a0 \n\t\t\t<\/p>\n\t\t\t<p>\n\t\t\t\t<strong>Chris: <\/strong>Yes. \n\t\t\t<\/p>\n\t\t\t<p>\n\t\t\t\t<strong>Dennis: <\/strong>I just\u2014I think there\u2019s, undoubtedly, someone listening right now who needs a song about forgiveness. \n\t\t\t<\/p>\n\t\t\t<p>\n\t\t\t\t<strong>Chris: <\/strong>[Singing <em>7x70<\/em>]\u00a0 \n\t\t\t<\/p>\n\t\t\t<p>\n\t\t\t\t<strong>8:00<\/strong>\n\t\t\t<\/p>\n\t\t\t<p>\n\t\t\t\t<strong>9:00<\/strong>\n\t\t\t<\/p>\n\t\t\t<p>\n\t\t\t\t<strong>10:00<\/strong>\n\t\t\t<\/p>\n\t\t\t<p>\n\t\t\t\t<strong>11:00<\/strong>\n\t\t\t<\/p>\n\t\t\t<p>\n\t\t\t\t[Applause and cheering]\u00a0 \n\t\t\t<\/p>\n\t\t\t<p>\n\t\t\t\t<strong>12:00<\/strong>\n\t\t\t<\/p>\n\t\t\t<p>\n\t\t\t\t<strong>\u00a0<\/strong>\n\t\t\t<\/p>\n\t\t\t<p>\n\t\t\t\t<strong>Bob: <\/strong>Can you tell us about the conversation with your mom after writing that song and after sharing?\u00a0 \n\t\t\t<\/p>\n\t\t\t<p>\n\t\t\t\t<strong>Chris: <\/strong>Yes, well, it\u2019s kind of funny. It\u2019s like my dad did music stuff. That\u2019s how I kind of grew up around it. When making this record, I had sent my dad and my mom some demos because, you know, I\u2019m kind of\u2014you know, you\u2019ll demo the song up as you do it. So, my dad\u2014definitely, my dad had heard every song I was recording. \n\t\t\t<\/p>\n\t\t\t<p>\n\t\t\t\tWell, this song\u2014I didn\u2019t write it until literally two days before we tracked my record because\u2014and that\u2019s just because a guy that I did my record with, Ed Cash, told me I needed a personal song on my record. So, by the time she heard that song, my record was out. I never sent it to her or my dad. \n\t\t\t<\/p>\n\t\t\t<p>\n\t\t\t\t<strong>Bob: <\/strong>Wow. \n\t\t\t<\/p>\n\t\t\t<p>\n\t\t\t\t<strong>Chris: <\/strong>The first time\u2014I can remember the first time my dad heard it. I think I was driving to Atlanta or something. I had emailed my dad a copy of my record. I was like, \u201cOh, when he hears that song, it\u2019s going to be awkward\u201d; you know?\u00a0 He sent me a text\u2014it was a pretty cool text I got from him. \n\t\t\t<\/p>\n\t\t\t<p>\n\t\t\t\t<strong>Bob: <\/strong>What did he say?\u00a0 \n\t\t\t<\/p>\n\t\t\t<p>\n\t\t\t\t<strong>13:00<\/strong>\n\t\t\t<\/p>\n\t\t\t<p>\n\t\t\t\t<strong>Chris: <\/strong>He just said\u2014you know, he just apologized for his failures, as a parent. He just said, \u201cGod has the ability to take something that\u2019s broken and make it better than we ever thought it could be.\u201d\u00a0 And for me\u2014I\u2019m just saying, \u201cLook, don\u2019t forget the <em>hope<\/em> that we have in Christ.\u201d\u00a0 That\u2019s where our hope lies. It doesn\u2019t lie in what anybody else thinks of you or whatever. It\u2019s finding the hope in Him, and the forgiveness in Him, and the healing in that. \n\t\t\t<\/p>\n\t\t\t<p>\n\t\t\t\t<strong>Dennis: <\/strong>We mentioned earlier that we\u2019re doing this broadcast recording live, here on the <em>Love Like You Mean It<\/em> cruise. And your songwriting didn\u2019t stop with this song. \n\t\t\t<\/p>\n\t\t\t<p>\n\t\t\t\t<strong>Chris: <\/strong>No, no. \n\t\t\t<\/p>\n\t\t\t<p>\n\t\t\t\t<br><strong>Dennis: <\/strong>You\u2019ve written another one that is all about something special as well. \n\t\t\t<\/p>\n\t\t\t<p>\n\t\t\t\t<strong>Chris: <\/strong>You\u2019d think I\u2019d just learn my lesson. [Laughter]\u00a0 I mean, that\u2019s the thing\u2014you know, I just\u2014it\u2019s funny, like we have these doubts. Sometimes, we ask God for miracles and stuff. We look up to heaven like: \u201cSend me a sign!\u00a0 Show me a miracle!\u201d\u00a0 You know:\n\t\t\t<\/p>\n\t\t\t<p>\n\t\t\t\t<strong>14:00<\/strong>\n\t\t\t<\/p>\n\t\t\t<p>\n\t\t\t\t<strong>\u00a0<\/strong>\n\t\t\t<\/p>\n\t\t\t<p>\n\t\t\t\t\u201cStrike the tree with lightening or something.\u201d\u00a0 We are asking for something crazy. And like\u2014in the meantime, we\u2019re walking through a field of burning bushes; and we don\u2019t even realize it. Still, God is bigger than that. You know, He is bigger than it. \n\t\t\t<\/p>\n\t\t\t<p>\n\t\t\t\t<strong>Bob: <\/strong>So, what was the inspiration for the song, <em>Restore<\/em>?\u00a0 \n\t\t\t<\/p>\n\t\t\t<p>\n\t\t\t\t<strong>Chris: <\/strong>And that basically\u2014I was in India with a friend of mine, named Ian Eskelin. We were doing my second record together. We were just there on a little mission trip\u2014just me and him\u2014doing all sorts of stuff. I had never been to India. And we\u2019re driving up this mountain and going to this place called Kodaikanal in India. Really\u2014the night before\u2014me and Ian had been working all day. So, we get back. We\u2019re in our rooms. We\u2019re like: \u201cMan! We are beat.\u201d\u00a0 \n\t\t\t<\/p>\n\t\t\t<p>\n\t\t\t\tAnd so, I was joking around. I was telling him about some of these stories I\u2019d heard from <em>7x70<\/em>\u2014being like, \u201cMan, it\u2019s been so awesome!\u201d\u00a0 So, I was joking around. I said, \u201cIan\u201d\u2014I was like, \u201cLet\u2019s write a song called <em>Divorced<\/em>.\u201d\u00a0 I wanted\u2014I mean, it was\u2014\n\t\t\t<\/p>\n\t\t\t<p>\n\t\t\t\t<strong>15:00<\/strong>\n\t\t\t<\/p>\n\t\t\t<p>\n\t\t\t\t<strong>\u00a0<\/strong>\n\t\t\t<\/p>\n\t\t\t<p>\n\t\t\t\t\u2014we wouldn\u2019t be able to release it\u2014but I wanted to write this sarcastic song. I was thinking, \u201cI\u2019m going to have this hilarious song called <em>Divorced<\/em>.\u201d\u00a0 I\u2019m like: \u201cThat\u2019s not very funny.\u201d\u00a0 I\u2019m like, \u201cNot a good joke there.\u201d\u00a0 <br><br>Well, I went to sleep. At 3 o\u2019clock in the morning, I woke up. Then, all of a sudden, at that moment, God said: \u201cChris, this song is not supposed to be about divorce. This song is supposed to be about restoration.\u201d\u00a0 I just said, \u201cMan!\u201d\u00a0 So, that morning, I woke up. We got in the van to go up this mountain. I said, \u201cIan, I know we were clowning around last night, but\u201d\u2014I said\u2014\u201cthis is thick on my heart today.\u201d\u00a0 I said, \u201cWe\u2019re supposed to write this song called <em>Restore<\/em>.\u201d\u00a0 \n\t\t\t<\/p>\n\t\t\t<p>\n\t\t\t\tIt was a three-hour drive up that mountain\u2014played at this college\u2014came back down. By the time we were down off that mountain, this\u2014<em>Restore<\/em> had been written. It\u2019s another one of those things that\u2014it\u2019s actually been worse than <em>7x70<\/em>\u2014\n\t\t\t<\/p>\n\t\t\t<p>\n\t\t\t\t<strong>16:00<\/strong>\n\t\t\t<\/p>\n\t\t\t<p>\n\t\t\t\t<strong>\u00a0<\/strong>\n\t\t\t<\/p>\n\t\t\t<p>\n\t\t\t\t\u2014as far as people getting mad at me for writing it.
