\n\t\t\t<\/p>\n\t\t\t<p>\n\t\t\t\t<br><strong>Barbara:<\/strong>\u00a0 It\u2019s not too early to start thinking about Easter and planning, \u201cWhat can you do, in your family, to make the celebration of Easter as important as it really is?\u201d\u00a0 Instead of making it kind of an afterthought or, \u201cIt\u2019s just a little bit different Sunday,\u201d what can you do to really make this Easter Sunday stand out, among all the other Sundays of the year?\u00a0 \n\t\t\t<\/p>\n\t\t\t<p>\n\t\t\t\t<strong>Bob:<\/strong>\u00a0 This is <em>FamilyLife Today<\/em> for Wednesday, February 20<sup>th<\/sup>.\u00a0 Our host is the President of FamilyLife<sup>\u00ae<\/sup>, Dennis Rainey, and I\u2019m Bob Lepine.\u00a0 We\u2019re going to talk to moms today with a couple of moms about how you can make Easter a more meaningful season at your house this year.\u00a0 Stay tuned.\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 \n\t\t\t<\/p>\n\t\t\t<p>\n\t\t\t\tAnd welcome to <em>FamilyLife Today<\/em>.\u00a0 Thanks for joining us on the Wednesday edition.\u00a0 \n\t\t\t<\/p>\n\t\t\t<p>\n\t\t\t\t<br><strong>Dennis:<\/strong>\u00a0 Bob, you know back last\u2014well, it was Christmas holiday.\u00a0 We had 12 inches of snow here.\u00a0 \n\t\t\t<\/p>\n\t\t\t<p>\n\t\t\t\t<strong>Bob:<\/strong>\u00a0 I remember.\u00a0 \n\t\t\t<\/p>\n\t\t\t<p>\n\t\t\t\t<strong>Dennis:<\/strong>\u00a0 I mean, we were without electricity for <em>five days<\/em>.\u00a0 \n\t\t\t<\/p>\n\t\t\t<p>\n\t\t\t\t<strong>Bob:<\/strong>\u00a0 Well, you were out of town for part of those five days; weren\u2019t you?\u00a0 \n\t\t\t<\/p>\n\t\t\t<p>\n\t\t\t\t<strong>Dennis:<\/strong>\u00a0 We arrived back at midnight, and it was 40\u2014in the 40\u2019s\u2014\n\t\t\t<\/p>\n\t\t\t<p>\n\t\t\t\t<strong>Bob:<\/strong>\u00a0 Yes.\u00a0 \n\t\t\t<\/p>\n\t\t\t<p>\n\t\t\t\t<strong>Dennis:<\/strong>\u00a0 \u2014inside the house!\u00a0 [Laughter]\u00a0 Well, in the weeks that followed, I pulled out my chainsaw and got a chance to be \u201cthe man\u201d, again, with my chainsaw.\u00a0 \n\t\t\t<\/p>\n\t\t\t<p>\n\t\t\t\t<br><strong>Bob:<\/strong>\u00a0 Yes.\u00a0 \n\t\t\t<\/p>\n\t\t\t<p>\n\t\t\t\t<strong>Dennis:<\/strong>\u00a0 And I have a STIHL<sup>\u00ae<\/sup> chainsaw.\u00a0 Anybody who\u2019s got a chainsaw knows that you\u2019re a real man if you\u2019ve got a STIHL.\u00a0 \n\t\t\t<\/p>\n\t\t\t<p>\n\t\t\t\t<strong>Bob:<\/strong>\u00a0 How do you pronounce STIHL?\u00a0 \n\t\t\t<\/p>\n\t\t\t<p>\n\t\t\t\t<strong>Dennis:<\/strong>\u00a0 It\u2019s a \u201csteal\u201d\u2014a \u201csteal\u201d or a \u201cstill\u201d\u2014alright?\u00a0 It doesn\u2019t matter.\u00a0 [Laughter]\u00a0 Anyway, I was out there; and I\u2019m cutting these trees down that have broken in half and\u2014[imitates the sound of a chainsaw].\u00a0 Oh, yes!\u00a0 Oh, yes!\u00a0 I was out there doing it, and I ran across something that just sent me back to this time of year.\u00a0 I ran across a plastic Easter egg.\u00a0 \n\t\t\t<\/p>\n\t\t\t<p>\n\t\t\t\t<strong>Bob:<\/strong>\u00a0 In your backyard?\u00a0 \n\t\t\t<\/p>\n\t\t\t<p>\n\t\t\t\t<strong>Dennis:<\/strong>\u00a0 Yes, in our backyard.\u00a0 Now, we kind of live in the woods.\u00a0 So, the backyard is\u2014\n\t\t\t<\/p>\n\t\t\t<p>\n\t\t\t\t<strong>Bob:<\/strong>\u00a0 Kind of goes for a-ways?\u00a0 \n\t\t\t<\/p>\n\t\t\t<p>\n\t\t\t\t<br><strong>Dennis:<\/strong>\u00a0 It\u2014well, it goes for a-ways, but it\u2019s raw.\u00a0 \n\t\t\t<\/p>\n\t\t\t<p>\n\t\t\t\t<strong>Bob:<\/strong>\u00a0 Yes.\u00a0 \n\t\t\t<\/p>\n\t\t\t<p>\n\t\t\t\t<strong>Dennis:<\/strong>\u00a0 It\u2019s raw.\u00a0 It\u2019s not manicured, okay?\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 \n\t\t\t<\/p>\n\t\t\t<p>\n\t\t\t\t<strong>Bob:<\/strong>\u00a0 We call that zero-scaping.\u00a0 That\u2019s what that\u2019s called.\u00a0 Yes.\u00a0 It\u2019s a lovely name for it.\u00a0 [Laughter]\n\t\t\t<\/p>\n\t\t\t<p>\n\t\t\t\t<strong>Dennis:<\/strong>\u00a0 And I found this Easter egg, and it harkened me back.\u00a0 We used to have Easter egg hunts\u2014\n\t\t\t<\/p>\n\t\t\t<p>\n\t\t\t\t<strong>Bob:<\/strong>\u00a0 Yes.\u00a0 \n\t\t\t<\/p>\n\t\t\t<p>\n\t\t\t\t<br><strong>Dennis:<\/strong>\u00a0 \u2014with our kids, out in the woods.\u00a0 We had sections drawn.\u00a0 We\u2019d invite the whole team over from FamilyLife.\u00a0 We had a section for the under five-year-olds.\u00a0 Then, we had an elementary; and, then, a junior high.\u00a0 Then, we had one for live rabbits and chickens.\u00a0 So, the parents knew that if they went looking in that section there, they were going home with something that was alive.\u00a0 [Laughter]\u00a0 I just had a big smile on my face.\u00a0 I thought, \u201cYou know what?\u00a0 There are some great memories to be made\u201d\u2014\n\t\t\t<\/p>\n\t\t\t<p>\n\t\t\t\t<strong>Bob:<\/strong>\u00a0 Yes.\u00a0 \n\t\t\t<\/p>\n\t\t\t<p>\n\t\t\t\t<strong>Dennis:<\/strong>\u00a0 \u2014\u201caround Easter; but especially, around the message of Easter.\u201d\u00a0 I was just reading about it, here in 1 Corinthians 15.\u00a0 It is the apex.\u00a0 It is the foundation of the Christian message:\u00a0 \u201cIf Christ isn\u2019t risen from the dead,\u201d Paul wrote in 1 Corinthians 15, \u201cthen, our faith is in vain,\u201d\u2014his preaching is in vain, Christ hasn\u2019t defeated death; and when we go to a funeral, it\u2019s hopelessness\u2014it really is\u2014but because Christ <em>has<\/em> defeated death, there is great hope in the message of Easter.\u00a0 \n\t\t\t<\/p>\n\t\t\t<p>\n\t\t\t\t<br><strong>Bob:<\/strong>\u00a0 Your wife, Barbara, has been joining us this week.\u00a0 We\u2019ve been talking about Easter\u2014not because it\u2019s right around the corner\u2014but because we\u2019d like to be focusing on it even a little further out than normal, and have everybody thinking about this season of the year and how you can maximize it.\u00a0 \n\t\t\t<\/p>\n\t\t\t<p>\n\t\t\t\tBarbara\u2019s back with us again today.\u00a0 Welcome back.\u00a0 \n\t\t\t<\/p>\n\t\t\t<p>\n\t\t\t\t<strong>Barbara:<\/strong>\u00a0 Thank you, Bob.\u00a0 \n\t\t\t<\/p>\n\t\t\t<p>\n\t\t\t\t<strong>Bob:<\/strong>\u00a0 We\u2019ve been talking about a new resource that you have developed that is called \u201cBehold the Lamb\u201d.\u00a0 It\u2019s a wreath that can be placed in your home\u2014on a door, on a wall, on a stand that you put on a coffee table or on an end table somewhere.\u00a0 Attached to the wreath\u2014there are cards, in each packet, that explore the eight \u201cI AM\u201d statements that Jesus made about Himself in the Gospel of John.\u00a0 So, you use this as an Easter devotional during Holy Week; right?\u00a0 \n\t\t\t<\/p>\n\t\t\t<p>\n\t\t\t\t<strong>Barbara:<\/strong>\u00a0 That\u2019s right.\u00a0 Yes.\u00a0 \n\t\t\t<\/p>\n\t\t\t<p>\n\t\t\t\t<strong>Bob:<\/strong>\u00a0 And today, we\u2019ve asked Tracey Eyster, who heads up our <em>MomLife Today<\/em><sup>\u00ae<\/sup> blog to come in and join us.\u00a0 Tracey, welcome.\u00a0 \n\t\t\t<\/p>\n\t\t\t<p>\n\t\t\t\t<strong>Tracey:<\/strong>\u00a0 Hi!\u00a0 Good to be here.\u00a0 \n\t\t\t<\/p>\n\t\t\t<p>\n\t\t\t\t<strong>Bob:<\/strong>\u00a0 Nice to have you back with us.\u00a0 <br><br><strong>Dennis:<\/strong>\u00a0 She is also the author of <em>Be the Mom<\/em>, which is all about what we are talking about today.\u00a0 \n\t\t\t<\/p>\n\t\t\t<p>\n\t\t\t\t<strong>Bob:<\/strong>\u00a0 Yes, we\u2019re going to talk about ways that moms can get engaged with kids, during this season of year, to help draw attention, not just to the season, but to the message as Dennis was talking about.\u00a0 I say, \u201cMom\u2019s get involved,\u201d because\u2014let\u2019s just be honest\u2014dads are not going to do the crafting and the baking\u2014\n\t\t\t<\/p>\n\t\t\t<p>\n\t\t\t\t<strong>Barbara:<\/strong>\u00a0 That\u2019s right.\u00a0 \n\t\t\t<\/p>\n\t\t\t<p>\n\t\t\t\t<strong>Bob:<\/strong>\u00a0 \u2014that\u2019s associated with this.\u00a0 \n\t\t\t<\/p>\n\t\t\t<p>\n\t\t\t\t<strong>Dennis:<\/strong>\u00a0 No, they\u2019re going to be good for finding the plastic eggs\u2014the plastic Easter eggs\u2014\u00a0 \n\t\t\t<\/p>\n\t\t\t<p>\n\t\t\t\t<strong>Bob:<\/strong>\u00a0 Twenty years later.\u00a0 \n\t\t\t<\/p>\n\t\t\t<p>\n\t\t\t\t<strong>Dennis:<\/strong>\u00a0 Twenty years after the event.\u00a0 [Laughter]\u00a0 \n\t\t\t<\/p>\n\t\t\t<p>\n\t\t\t\t<strong>Bob:<\/strong>\u00a0 So, I\u2019m just curious when your kids were little, Barbara, were there annual traditions?\u00a0 This is before the days that FamilyLife had created our \u201cResurrection Eggs\u201d<sup>\u00ae<\/sup>.\u00a0 \n\t\t\t<\/p>\n\t\t\t<p>\n\t\t\t\t<br><strong>Barbara:<\/strong>\u00a0 That\u2019s right.\u00a0 \n\t\t\t<\/p>\n\t\t\t<p>\n\t\t\t\t<br><strong>Bob:<\/strong>\u00a0 So, you were on your own to come up with ideas.\u00a0 Were there any that you did, year-in and year-out, with your kids?\u00a0 \n\t\t\t<\/p>\n\t\t\t<p>\n\t\t\t\t<strong>Barbara: <\/strong>\u00a0No, there really wasn\u2019t.\u00a0 I\u2019m sad to report.\u00a0 I wish I had come up with some genius idea when my kids were little; but I was too busy, and too tired, and too overwhelmed to come up with a really great idea like I wanted to.\u00a0 We did hide eggs, and we always talked about the Resurrection.\u00a0 We made a big deal of Easter Sunday and celebrating Christ rising from the dead, but I longed for tools.\u00a0 I longed for ideas and things that I could do to really emphasize that truth with our kids.\u00a0 \n\t\t\t<\/p>\n\t\t\t<p>\n\t\t\t\tAnd you are right.\u00a0 This is for moms because moms are the ones who want those traditions.\u00a0 We\u2019re the ones who want to impart those lessons to our kids, and we need help.\u00a0 We need lots of ideas.\u00a0 \n\t\t\t<\/p>\n\t\t\t<p>\n\t\t\t\t<strong>Dennis:<\/strong>\u00a0 \u201cBehold the Lamb\u201d is going to do that.\u00a0 \n\t\t\t<\/p>\n\t\t\t<p>\n\t\t\t\t<strong>Barbara:<\/strong>\u00a0 Yes.\u00a0 \n\t\t\t<\/p>\n\t\t\t<p>\n\t\t\t\t<strong>Dennis:<\/strong>\u00a0\u00a0 I mean, this is a\u2014\n\t\t\t<\/p>\n\t\t\t<p>\n\t\t\t\t<strong>Barbara:<\/strong>\u00a0 Hopefully, it will.\u00a0 \n\t\t\t<\/p>\n\t\t\t<p>\n\t\t\t\t<strong>Dennis:<\/strong>\u00a0 This is a resource tool for families\u2014year, after year, after year\u2014to teach the truth about Christ, around the Resurrection season.\u00a0 \n\t\t\t<\/p>\n\t\t\t<p>\n\t\t\t\t<br>Tracey, what about you and your family?\u00a0 What did you guys do?\u00a0 \n\t\t\t<\/p>\n\t\t\t<p>\n\t\t\t\t<strong>Tracey:<\/strong>\u00a0 What we used to do\u2014Bill would read the account of Easter, starting with when Jesus entered Jerusalem.\u00a0 Our children would act out whatever he was reading.\u00a0 We have two kids.\u00a0 So, it was sort of this round table acting out.\u00a0 One would be the donkey, and one would be Jesus.\u00a0 Then, somebody would have to run over and throw some palms down.\u00a0 So, it was a massive acting. \n\t\t\t<\/p>\n\t\t\t<p>\n\t\t\t\tBut it was interesting because through the years\u2014we didn\u2019t do it ever year\u2014but through the years, you would see that their understanding\u2014and then, they would personally take on and think more about what was happening to Jesus or what was happening to the crowd.\u00a0 It was interesting to watch how their depth of thinking about the Easter story grew as they grew.\u00a0 \n\t\t\t<\/p>\n\t\t\t<p>\n\t\t\t\t<strong>Bob:<\/strong>\u00a0 Did you do this all in one sitting, from the Triumphal Entry, all the way through the Resurrection?\u00a0 \n\t\t\t<\/p>\n\t\t\t<p>\n\t\t\t\t<strong>Tracey:<\/strong>\u00a0 It was different times\u2014different years\u2014\n\t\t\t<\/p>\n\t\t\t<p>\n\t\t\t\t<strong>Bob:<\/strong>\u00a0 Okay.\u00a0 \n\t\t\t<\/p>\n\t\t\t<p>\n\t\t\t\t<strong>Tracey:<\/strong>\u00a0 \u2014as I recall, over different parts of the stories.\u00a0 Then, sometimes, it would be: \u201cWait!\u00a0 We want to act this out.\u201d\u00a0 So, then, they\u2019d jump up; and they\u2019d act that part out.\u00a0 \n\t\t\t<\/p>\n\t\t\t<p>\n\t\t\t\t<br><strong>Bob:<\/strong>\u00a0 That\u2019s cool.\u00a0 \n\t\t\t<\/p>\n\t\t\t<p>\n\t\t\t\t<strong>Barbara:<\/strong>\u00a0 Yes.\u00a0 You know, we didn\u2019t ever act out the Easter story.\u00a0 I was thinking this through, but I remember very clearly our kids did act out other things.\u00a0 They loved to do plays.\u00a0 Of course, they always charged Mom and Dad money to come, and sit, and watch them so they could earn a few little coins for their productions; but because we had six, we had a few more characters for the parts.\u00a0 \n\t\t\t<\/p>\n\t\t\t<p>\n\t\t\t\tBut I remember, in particular, our kids acting out the stoning of Stephen one year.\u00a0 I totally agree with Tracey in the fact that\u2014when our kids do these little plays and they get into role-playing\u2014they really do learn.\u00a0 I remember when our kids did the stoning of Stephen.\u00a0 Our son was Stephen.\u00a0 He was standing over there, and our other kids all made up rocks out of tin foil balls.\u00a0 They were having such a great time throwing these tin foil balls at our son, Samuel.\u00a0 \n\t\t\t<\/p>\n\t\t\t<p>\n\t\t\t\tBut all of a sudden, in the midst of their little play, Samuel\u2019s face totally changed.\u00a0 I\u2019ve never forgotten this moment, but it was like this dawning light of realization came over him.\u00a0 It occurred to him what was really happening\u2014what really happened in the story that Stephen was a martyr and that he died for his faith.\u00a0 I remember so clearly that realization that came over him as he acted that out.\u00a0 \n\t\t\t<\/p>\n\t\t\t<p>\n\t\t\t\tAnd I know that would be true if kids acted out the Easter story, too.\u00a0 They would understand a little bit deeper what it meant for Jesus to come in on the donkey, what it meant for Him to be betrayed, what it meant for Him to give up His life on \n\t\t\t<\/p>\n\t\t\t<p>\n\t\t\t\t<strong>Tracey:<\/strong>\u00a0 No.\u00a0 \n\t\t\t<\/p>\n\t\t\t<p>\n\t\t\t\t<strong>Bob:<\/strong>\u00a0 You never carried it out to that\u2014\n\t\t\t<\/p>\n\t\t\t<p>\n\t\t\t\t<strong>Tracey:<\/strong>\u00a0 No.\u00a0 \n\t\t\t<\/p>\n\t\t\t<p>\n\t\t\t\t<strong>Bob:<\/strong>\u00a0 \u2014place?\u00a0 \n\t\t\t<\/p>\n\t\t\t<p>\n\t\t\t\t<strong>Tracey:<\/strong>\u00a0 They would look at\u2014like a blank space\u2014like that\u2019s where Jesus was.\n\t\t\t<\/p>\n\t\t\t<p>\n\t\t\t\t<strong>Bob:<\/strong>\u00a0 Got it.\u00a0 \n\t\t\t<\/p>\n\t\t\t<p>\n\t\t\t\t<strong>Tracey:<\/strong>\u00a0 Samara would be Mary.\u00a0 So, they acted out in a different way.\u00a0 I remember Wesley\u2014because he\u2019s a guy and he\u2019s a kid\u2014I can remember some realization for him when it came to the Roman solider because I remember him pretending to have a spear and like he was spearing Jesus\u2019 side.\u00a0 Again, that same thing\u2014like you remember with Samuel.\u00a0 You could see that that was clicking in His head\u2014and he was thinking.\u00a0 Again, I think it brings it to life for them; and it sticks with them.\u00a0 \n\t\t\t<\/p>\n\t\t\t<p>\n\t\t\t\t<strong>Bob:<\/strong>\u00a0 At our house, one of the things that Mary Ann did\u2014and this takes us to the kitchen, which is a place where a lot of family memories get made; right?\u00a0 \n\t\t\t<\/p>\n\t\t\t<p>\n\t\t\t\t<strong>Dennis:<\/strong>\u00a0 Right.\u00a0 \n\t\t\t<\/p>\n\t\t\t<p>\n\t\t\t\t<strong>Bob:<\/strong>\u00a0 Because a lot of food gets made, but she used to do an empty tomb cake.\u00a0 I went online and found that there are recipes for this\u2014and other people have done this.\u00a0 I\u2019m sure\u2014this was pre-internet\u2014but I\u2019m sure that somebody shared this recipe with her, where you make a round cake, you cut the middle of it out, you make a second layer,\u00a0 and you put the second layer over the top with this middle cut out of the first layer.\u00a0 So, now you\u2019ve got this empty tomb inside.\u00a0 You ice the whole thing over; and then, you cut out an opening into the empty part of the cave and put a cookie\u2014a big giant cookie, as the stone, in front of it.\u00a0 \n\t\t\t<\/p>\n\t\t\t<p>\n\t\t\t\tWe would have that out, I remember, Easter weekend and would eat it on Easter Sunday, after we\u2019d roll the stone away and verified that there was nothing inside the cake.\u00a0 I don\u2019t remember anybody craving the cake in particular, but it was just a good physical reminder\u2014something that drew the kids\u2019 attention\u2014\u201cWhat\u2019s that?\u201d\u2014and engaged their imaginations.\u00a0 \n\t\t\t<\/p>\n\t\t\t<p>\n\t\t\t\tI know, Tracey, you\u2019ve talked to some of the folks on the <em>MomLife Today<\/em><sup>\u00ae<\/sup> Facebook<sup>\u00ae<\/sup> page and asked them for ideas.\u00a0 Were there kitchen-related ideas that you found from them?\u00a0 \n\t\t\t<\/p>\n\t\t\t<p>\n\t\t\t\t<strong>Tracey:<\/strong>\u00a0 There were some kitchen-related ideas.\u00a0 One that\u2014it wasn\u2019t on our page, but I found it on another page, where a woman said that\u2014much what you did with the cake\u2014but she made a bunt cake and she cut it in half\u2014\n\t\t\t<\/p>\n\t\t\t<p>\n\t\t\t\t<strong>Bob:<\/strong>\u00a0 Oh.\n\t\t\t<\/p>\n\t\t\t<p>\n\t\t\t\t<strong>Tracey:<\/strong>\u00a0 \u2014and she sat it down.\u00a0 So, that might make that one a little simpler if someone heard that one.\u00a0 \n\t\t\t<\/p>\n\t\t\t<p>\n\t\t\t\tWe also had a mom on the <em>MomLife Today<\/em> Facebook page that said that they do a formal tea\u2014that her children had gotten a little bit older\u2014and so, some of the things that worked when they were younger weren\u2019t working as well.\u00a0 So, they have a formal tea at her house, which I thought sounded kind of nice.\u00a0 \n\t\t\t<\/p>\n\t\t\t<p>\n\t\t\t\t<strong>Bob:<\/strong>\u00a0 Interesting.\u00a0 Did she say that they do it on Easter Sunday or\u2014\n\t\t\t<\/p>\n\t\t\t<p>\n\t\t\t\t<strong>Tracey:<\/strong>\u00a0 Easter Sunday.\u00a0 She makes a big deal out of it\u2014invites a lot of different people\u2014so that there is a full table.\u00a0 They have a nice little, formal Easter tea.\u00a0 \n\t\t\t<\/p>\n\t\t\t<p>\n\t\t\t\t<br><strong>Dennis:<\/strong>\u00a0 Speaking of inviting people, I know a number of our listeners, over the years, have gotten involved in what FamilyLife has hosted\u2014\u201cThe World\u2019s Largest Neighborhood Easter Egg Hunt\u201d.\u00a0 \n\t\t\t<\/p>\n\t\t\t<p>\n\t\t\t\t<br><strong>Bob:<\/strong>\u00a0 Right.\u00a0 \n\t\t\t<\/p>\n\t\t\t<p>\n\t\t\t\t<strong>Dennis:<\/strong>\u00a0 So, they would host an Easter egg hunt on their property\u2014maybe, in their yard\u2014and they would use the 12 plastic eggs from \u201cResurrection Eggs\u201d and place them amidst of the other eggs that had prizes in them.\u00a0 Then, get all the kids together and begin to open the various colored eggs that had objects in it that told the story of Easter and shared the Gospel with kids.\u00a0 \n\t\t\t<\/p>\n\t\t\t<p>\n\t\t\t\t<strong>Bob:<\/strong>\u00a0 So, some of the eggs had gummy bears, and jelly beans, and all of that in it; right?\u00a0 \n\t\t\t<\/p>\n\t\t\t<p>\n\t\t\t\t<strong>Dennis:<\/strong>\u00a0 Yes; but the evidence was immediately eaten, at that point.\u00a0 [Laughter]\u00a0 \n\t\t\t<\/p>\n\t\t\t<p>\n\t\t\t\t<strong>Bob:<\/strong>\u00a0 But\u2014\n\t\t\t<\/p>\n\t\t\t<p>\n\t\t\t\t<strong>Dennis:<\/strong>\u00a0 There was no story to tell there.\u00a0 \n\t\t\t<\/p>\n\t\t\t<p>\n\t\t\t\t<strong>Bob:<\/strong>\u00a0 \u2014but if you opened one of these plastic eggs, and instead of jelly beans you found a donkey, then\u2014\n\t\t\t<\/p>\n\t\t\t<p>\n\t\t\t\t<strong>Dennis:<\/strong>\u00a0 Right.\u00a0 \n\t\t\t<\/p>\n\t\t\t<p>\n\t\t\t\t<br><strong>Bob:<\/strong>\u00a0 \u2014then, whoever the parent is\u2014would stop and say, \u201cWell, let\u2019s talk about the donkey.\u00a0 Why do you think there\u2019s a donkey in there?\u201d\u00a0 And get a chance to tell the Easter story, using the \u201cResurrection Eggs\u201d.\u00a0\u00a0 In fact, our team developed an activity book that is\u2014I was just looking at this\u201460-some pages with coloring pages.\u00a0 There\u2019s a maze, there are games, and there are all kinds of things you can do that tie in to the \u201cResurrection Eggs\u201d.\u00a0 \n\t\t\t<\/p>\n\t\t\t<p>\n\t\t\t\tThis is on our website at FamilyLifeToday.com.\u00a0 You can download and invited folks to share ideas.\u00a0 What were some of the other ideas that people had?\u00a0 \n\t\t\t<\/p>\n\t\t\t<p>\n\t\t\t\t<strong>Tracey:<\/strong>\u00a0 Well, to me, it wasn\u2019t very surprising that one of the biggest ideas that we heard repeatedly was about \u201cResurrection Eggs\u201d.\u00a0 \n\t\t\t<\/p>\n\t\t\t<p>\n\t\t\t\tI know, even last year, I was at a homeschool event, speaking.\u00a0 We had a booth there.\u00a0 You would not believe the number of children that were drawn over to our booth because we had \u201cResurrection Eggs\u201d sitting there.\u00a0 I\u2019m talking\u2014there were five-year-olds that came over, and nine-year-olds that came over, and sixteen-year-olds came over\u2014that started explaining \u201cResurrection Eggs\u201d to me.\u00a0 So, I can vouch for the fact that a lot of our moms out there enjoy the \u201cResurrection Eggs\u201d.\u00a0 \n\t\t\t<\/p>\n\t\t\t<p>\n\t\t\t\tI remember there was one mom, Carla, who said that part of what they do, at their home, is they watch movies.\u00a0 So, whether it was <em>Narnia<\/em> or <em>Passion of the Christ<\/em>\u2014just as a family, they would watch movies.\u00a0 I know\u2014my family\u2014we used to always watch <em>The Ten Commandments<\/em>.\u00a0 Then, I carried that on with my children.\u00a0 Then, it\u2019s just a great way to start discussion in the family.\u00a0 \n\t\t\t<\/p>\n\t\t\t<p>\n\t\t\t\t<br><strong>Bob:<\/strong>\u00a0 Of course, you don\u2019t want to watch <em>Passion of the Christ<\/em> with younger kids because it\u2019s\u2014\n\t\t\t<\/p>\n\t\t\t<p>\n\t\t\t\t<strong>Dennis:<\/strong>\u00a0 Right.\u00a0 \n\t\t\t<\/p>\n\t\t\t<p>\n\t\t\t\t<strong>Bob:<\/strong>\u00a0 \u2014it\u2019s pretty raw.\u00a0 The <em>JESUS<\/em> film may be a better option, and there is a <em>JESUS<\/em> film for kids, too; right?\u00a0\u00a0 \n\t\t\t<\/p>\n\t\t\t<p>\n\t\t\t\t<strong>Dennis:<\/strong>\u00a0 There is; and you can go to our website, again, to find out more information about that.\u00a0 \n\t\t\t<\/p>\n\t\t\t<p>\n\t\t\t\t<br><strong>Bob:<\/strong>\u00a0 And our family\u2014I don\u2019t know if you ever watched any of these\u2014but we\u2019re kind of into movies at our house; right?\u00a0 So, our family would watch <em>The Robe<\/em>.\u00a0 Have you ever seen the old movie, <em>The Robe<\/em>?\u00a0 \n\t\t\t<\/p>\n\t\t\t<p>\n\t\t\t\t<strong>Barbara:<\/strong>\u00a0 Love the movie <em>The Robe<\/em>.\u00a0 \n\t\t\t<\/p>\n\t\t\t<p>\n\t\t\t\t<strong>Bob:<\/strong>\u00a0 Yes, okay.\u00a0 \n\t\t\t<\/p>\n\t\t\t<p>\n\t\t\t\t<strong>Barbara:<\/strong>\u00a0 And <em>Ben-Hur<\/em>\u2014did you watch <em>Ben-Hur<\/em>?\u00a0 \n\t\t\t<\/p>\n\t\t\t<p>\n\t\t\t\t<strong>Bob:<\/strong>\u00a0 And <em>Barabbas<\/em>.\u00a0 Anthony Quinn was in the movie, <em>Barabbas<\/em>, in 1962, I think it was.\u00a0 There was a period of time, in Hollywood, from the late 50s to the early 60s, where they were making biblical epics, all the time.\u00a0 Some of these\u2014<em>The Robe<\/em> is a stirring film about somebody who finds the robe of Jesus.\u00a0 It\u2019s fictional, but it still engaged the kids to be thinking about that period of history.\u00a0 \n\t\t\t<\/p>\n\t\t\t<p>\n\t\t\t\t<strong>Tracey:<\/strong>\u00a0 I did want to add that the\u2014going back to the dinner table\u2014that last year, when we read our \u201cBehold the Lamb\u201d booklets\u2014it was a perfect time because we were all together at the dinner table.\u00a0 We put our wreath, right there, in the kitchen.\u00a0 Our 16- year-old son\u2014he would read it at the dinner table.\u00a0 It made for really good dinner conversation.\u00a0 So, he would take the card over and place it on the wreath.\u00a0 So, definitely, we agree with the whole dinnertime conversation.\u00a0 That\u2019s when you get them.\u00a0 They are ready to talk, then.\u00a0 \n\t\t\t<\/p>\n\t\t\t<p>\n\t\t\t\t<strong>Barbara:<\/strong>\u00a0 And I think that\u2019s so cool that Wesley, at 16 years old, was involved in doing this.\u00a0 I mean, we tend to think of these things for our younger kids; but these teenagers need to learn, too.\u00a0 And they\u2019ll get involved.\u00a0 We just need to not be intimidated by their\u2014\u00a0 \n\t\t\t<\/p>\n\t\t\t<p>\n\t\t\t\t<strong>Dennis:<\/strong>\u00a0 Well, again, the statements that Christ made about Himself in John: \u201cI am the door,\u201d \u201cI am the good shepherd,\u201d \u201cI am the Messiah,\u201d and then, the last one on Resurrection Day, \u201cI am the Resurrection, the true life.\u201d\u00a0 I mean, what a great opportunity to talk about how Christ\u2014\n\t\t\t<\/p>\n\t\t\t<p>\n\t\t\t\tWell, when our granddaughter, Molly, died, someone sent us a poem that described a grave as a doorway cut in sod.\u00a0 So, a grave can be a great opportunity to teach your kids that it is a doorway, if you know Jesus Christ as your Lord and Savior\u2014that it is a doorway to heaven.\u00a0 \n\t\t\t<\/p>\n\t\t\t<p>\n\t\t\t\t<strong>Bob:<\/strong>\u00a0 Barbara, Easter is still weeks away.\u00a0 A lot of folks haven\u2019t even thought about Easter yet.\u00a0 We\u2019re just past Valentine\u2019s Day, and it\u2019s kind of like the last thing on your mind.\u00a0 It\u2019s not going to be until the end of March this year, but you\u2019re suggesting it\u2019s not too early to start engaging on this subject.\u00a0 \n\t\t\t<\/p>\n\t\t\t<p>\n\t\t\t\t<strong>Barbara:<\/strong>\u00a0 Well, I have a real desire to help families\u2014believing families\u2014celebrate Easter in a much greater way than we currently do.\u00a0 Most families may get new clothes for their kids.\u00a0 They may do an Easter egg hunt.\u00a0 They go to church on Sunday morning, and then come home, and, then, it\u2019s over.\u00a0 But I would love to see us elevate the celebration of Easter in a much greater way, among those of us who know Christ.\u00a0 \n\t\t\t<\/p>\n\t\t\t<p>\n\t\t\t\tSo, I think it\u2019s not too early to start thinking about Easter and planning:\u00a0 \u201cWhat can you do, in your family, to make the celebration of Easter as important as it really is?\u201d instead of making it kind of an afterthought or, \u201cIt\u2019s just a little bit different Sunday.\u201d\u00a0 What can you do to really make this Easter Sunday a real difference-maker in your family?\u00a0 How can you elevate it, within your family?\u00a0 Maybe, invite extended family, invite neighbors; but make Easter Sunday a celebration, all-day.\u00a0 Don\u2019t just go to church, and come home, and go back to the ordinary; but think of some things that you can do to make Easter Sunday stand out among all the other Sundays of the year.\u00a0 \n\t\t\t<\/p>\n\t\t\t<p>\n\t\t\t\t<strong>Dennis:<\/strong>\u00a0 If you go back and look in the Old Testament, God placed a great deal of emphasis on the symbols of the Passover and everything that surrounded it.\u00a0 I think He wanted to tie this in to families so that, through those traditions, the true meaning of Easter week\u2014His death, His burial, and then, on the third day, coming back to life\u2014the tomb is empty.\u00a0 Death is defeated.\u00a0 It\u2019s a great way to instruct kids around the true meaning of the Gospel.\u00a0 \n\t\t\t<\/p>\n\t\t\t<p>\n\t\t\t\t<strong>Bob:<\/strong>\u00a0 Tracey, in the <em>MomLife Today<\/em> community, this is a subject\u2014this issue of spiritual development of your children\u2014just comes up over and over again; doesn\u2019t it?\u00a0 \n\t\t\t<\/p>\n\t\t\t<p>\n\t\t\t\t<strong>Tracey:<\/strong>\u00a0 It does.\u00a0 And what I would say\u2014when I was listening to Dennis, what I thought was, as a mom, you know your child\u2019s bent.\u00a0 You know what would kind of excite them and stick with them.\u00a0 Even as I was listening to what he was saying, I thought, \u201cSo, this year, I\u2019m going to get Wesley to get a big bucket of water, or paint, or something.\u00a0 I\u2019m going to have him stripe our door because I know the way he thinks and what he likes.\u00a0 For him, to be able to do that\u2014he\u2019s just sort of lived out something that he\u2019s heard, year after year, in the Bible.\u00a0 <br><br>So, what we like to do\u2014and I would like to do\u2014is just ask all those moms out there:\u00a0 \u201cYou know your child.\u00a0 You know their bent.\u00a0 If what would excite your child\u2014is Easter morning, running out there and ripping all those black cloths off the window, and seeing the light, and saying: \u201cHe has risen!\u00a0 He has risen!\u201d because you know that is the way your child is made\u2014then, bring that to life for your child!\u00a0 \n\t\t\t<\/p>\n\t\t\t<p>\n\t\t\t\tIf you know your child is artsy and wants to sit down and make that cake like Mary Ann used to make and want\u2014so, however your child\u2019s bent is\u2014search the Scriptures for what you know would make Easter come to life for them.\u00a0 And then, go for it!\u00a0 Make something up if you haven\u2019t found it on the internet.\u00a0 And then, let us know about it so we can share it with other moms.\u00a0 \n\t\t\t<\/p>\n\t\t\t<p>\n\t\t\t\t<strong>Bob:<\/strong><strong>\u00a0 <\/strong>If you have little boys, go to the part in Scripture where Peter cuts off the ear of the guard because they\u2019ll want to act that scene out over and over again, around the house\u2014\u00a0 \n\t\t\t<\/p>\n\t\t\t<p>\n\t\t\t\t<br><strong>Barbara:<\/strong>\u00a0 \u2014especially, on their brother.\u00a0 [Laughter]\u00a0 \n\t\t\t<\/p>\n\t\t\t<p>\n\t\t\t\t<strong>Bob:<\/strong>\u00a0 That\u2019s right.\u00a0 That\u2019s what I\u2019m thinking.\u00a0 \n\t\t\t<\/p>\n\t\t\t<p>\n\t\t\t\t<br><strong>Dennis:<\/strong>\u00a0 Yes, you just want to make sure you\u2019ve got plastic swords.\u00a0 \n\t\t\t<\/p>\n\t\t\t<p>\n\t\t\t\t<strong>Bob:<\/strong>\u00a0 That\u2019s right.\u00a0 \n\t\t\t<\/p>\n\t\t\t<p>\n\t\t\t\t<strong>Tracey:<\/strong>\u00a0 Yes.\u00a0 \n\t\t\t<\/p>\n\t\t\t<p>\n\t\t\t\t<strong>Dennis:<\/strong>\u00a0 I mean, they, literally, might take that literally.\u00a0 [Laughter]\u00a0 Well, what we\u2019re really challenging our listeners to do is engage\u2014\n\t\t\t<\/p>\n\t\t\t<p>\n\t\t\t\t<strong>Tracey:<\/strong>\u00a0 Yes.\u00a0 \n\t\t\t<\/p>\n\t\t\t<p>\n\t\t\t\t<br><strong>Dennis:<\/strong>\u00a0 \u2014and move beyond the Easter basket, with the chocolate bunnies, and some of the candy, that really\u2014I\u2019d like to know where that stuff is made.\u00a0 Some of that candy is just\u2014\n\t\t\t<\/p>\n\t\t\t<p>\n\t\t\t\t<strong>Bob:<\/strong>\u00a0 When it was made!\u00a0 \n\t\t\t<\/p>\n\t\t\t<p>\n\t\t\t\t<strong>Dennis:<\/strong>\u00a0 Exactly!\u00a0 It has to be a hundred years old\u2014some of it\u2014but move beyond that to the glorious message that: \u201cHe is risen!\u201d and, \u201cYour faith is not in vain.\u00a0 He\u2019s alive!\u201d\u00a0 And because of that, He can engage people today\u2014enter their lives and transform them into becoming like He was when He was here.\u00a0 \n\t\t\t<\/p>\n\t\t\t<p>\n\t\t\t\t<br><strong>Bob:<\/strong>\u00a0 Well, and celebration of Easter as important as it really is?\u201d\u00a0 Instead of making it kind of an afterthought or, \u201cIt\u2019s just a little bit different Sunday,\u201d what can you do to really make this Easter Sunday stand out, among all the other Sundays of the year?\u00a0 \n\t\t\t<\/p>\n\t\t\t<p>\n\t\t\t\t<strong>Bob:<\/strong>\u00a0 This is <em>FamilyLife Today<\/em> for Wednesday, February 20<sup>th<\/sup>.\u00a0 Our host is the President of FamilyLife<sup>\u00ae<\/sup>, Dennis Rainey, and I\u2019m Bob Lepine.\u00a0 We\u2019re going to talk to moms today with a couple of moms about how you can make Easter a more meaningful season at your house this year.\u00a0 Stay tuned.\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 \n\t\t\t<\/p>\n\t\t\t<p>\n\t\t\t\tAnd welcome to <em>FamilyLife Today<\/em>.\u00a0 Thanks for joining us on the Wednesday edition.\u00a0 \n\t\t\t<\/p>\n\t\t\t<p>\n\t\t\t\t<br><strong>Dennis:<\/strong>\u00a0 Bob, you know back last\u2014well, it was Christmas holiday.\u00a0 We had 12 inches of snow here.\u00a0 \n\t\t\t<\/p>\n\t\t\t<p>\n\t\t\t\t<strong>Bob:<\/strong>\u00a0 I remember.\u00a0 \n\t\t\t<\/p>\n\t\t\t<p>\n\t\t\t\t<strong>Dennis:<\/strong>\u00a0 I mean, we were without electricity for <em>five days<\/em>.\u00a0 \n\t\t\t<\/p>\n\t\t\t<p>\n\t\t\t\t<strong>Bob:<\/strong>\u00a0 Well, you were out of town for part of those five days; weren\u2019t you?\u00a0 \n\t\t\t<\/p>\n\t\t\t<p>\n\t\t\t\t<strong>Dennis:<\/strong>\u00a0 We arrived back at midnight, and it was 40\u2014in the 40\u2019s\u2014\n\t\t\t<\/p>\n\t\t\t<p>\n\t\t\t\t<strong>Bob:<\/strong>\u00a0 Yes.\u00a0 \n\t\t\t<\/p>\n\t\t\t<p>\n\t\t\t\t<strong>Dennis:<\/strong>\u00a0 \u2014inside the house!\u00a0 [Laughter]\u00a0 Well, in the weeks that followed, I pulled out my chainsaw and got a chance to be \u201cthe man\u201d, again, with my chainsaw.\u00a0 \n\t\t\t<\/p>\n\t\t\t<p>\n\t\t\t\t<br><strong>Bob:<\/strong>\u00a0 Yes.\u00a0 \n\t\t\t<\/p>\n\t\t\t<p>\n\t\t\t\t<strong>Dennis:<\/strong>\u00a0 And I have a STIHL<sup>\u00ae<\/sup> chainsaw.\u00a0 Anybody who\u2019s got a chainsaw knows that you\u2019re a real man if you\u2019ve got a STIHL.\u00a0 \n\t\t\t<\/p>\n\t\t\t<p>\n\t\t\t\t<strong>Bob:<\/strong>\u00a0 How do you pronounce STIHL?\u00a0 \n\t\t\t<\/p>\n\t\t\t<p>\n\t\t\t\t<strong>Dennis:<\/strong>\u00a0 It\u2019s a \u201csteal\u201d\u2014a \u201csteal\u201d or a \u201cstill\u201d\u2014alright?\u00a0 It doesn\u2019t matter.\u00a0 [Laughter]\u00a0 Anyway, I was out there; and I\u2019m cutting these trees down that have broken in half and\u2014[imitates the sound of a chainsaw].\u00a0 Oh, yes!\u00a0 Oh, yes!\u00a0 I was out there doing it, and I ran across something that just sent me back to this time of year.\u00a0 I ran across a plastic Easter egg.\u00a0 \n\t\t\t<\/p>\n\t\t\t<p>\n\t\t\t\t<strong>Bob:<\/strong>\u00a0 In your backyard?\u00a0 \n\t\t\t<\/p>\n\t\t\t<p>\n\t\t\t\t<strong>Dennis:<\/strong>\u00a0 Yes, in our backyard.\u00a0 Now, we kind of live in the woods.\u00a0 So, the backyard is\u2014\n\t\t\t<\/p>\n\t\t\t<p>\n\t\t\t\t<strong>Bob:<\/strong>\u00a0 Kind of goes for a-ways?\u00a0 \n\t\t\t<\/p>\n\t\t\t<p>\n\t\t\t\t<br><strong>Dennis:<\/strong>\u00a0 It\u2014well, it goes for a-ways, but it\u2019s raw.\u00a0 \n\t\t\t<\/p>\n\t\t\t<p>\n\t\t\t\t<strong>Bob:<\/strong>\u00a0 Yes.\u00a0 \n\t\t\t<\/p>\n\t\t\t<p>\n\t\t\t\t<strong>Dennis:<\/strong>\u00a0 It\u2019s raw.\u00a0 It\u2019s not manicured, okay?\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 \n\t\t\t<\/p>\n\t\t\t<p>\n\t\t\t\t<strong>Bob:<\/strong>\u00a0 We call that zero-scaping.\u00a0 That\u2019s what that\u2019s called.\u00a0 Yes.\u00a0 It\u2019s a lovely name for it.\u00a0 [Laughter]\n\t\t\t<\/p>\n\t\t\t<p>\n\t\t\t\t<strong>Dennis:<\/strong>\u00a0 And I found this Easter egg, and it harkened me back.\u00a0 We used to have Easter egg hunts\u2014\n\t\t\t<\/p>\n\t\t\t<p>\n\t\t\t\t<strong>Bob:<\/strong>\u00a0 Yes.\u00a0 \n\t\t\t<\/p>\n\t\t\t<p>\n\t\t\t\t<br><strong>Dennis:<\/strong>\u00a0 \u2014with our kids, out in the woods.\u00a0 We had sections drawn.\u00a0 We\u2019d invite the whole team over from FamilyLife.\u00a0 We had a section for the under five-year-olds.\u00a0 Then, we had an elementary; and, then, a junior high.\u00a0 Then, we had one for live rabbits and chickens.\u00a0 So, the parents knew that if they went looking in that section there, they were going home with something that was alive.\u00a0 [Laughter]\u00a0 I just had a big smile on my face.\u00a0 I thought, \u201cYou know what?\u00a0 There are some great memories to be made\u201d\u2014\n\t\t\t<\/p>\n\t\t\t<p>\n\t\t\t\t<strong>Bob:<\/strong>\u00a0 Yes.\u00a0 \n\t\t\t<\/p>\n\t\t\t<p>\n\t\t\t\t<strong>Dennis:<\/strong>\u00a0 \u2014\u201caround Easter; but especially, around the message of Easter.\u201d\u00a0 I was just reading about it, here in 1 Corinthians 15.\u00a0 It is the apex.\u00a0 It is the foundation of the Christian message:\u00a0 \u201cIf Christ isn\u2019t risen from the dead,\u201d Paul wrote in 1 Corinthians 15, \u201cthen, our faith is in vain,\u201d\u2014his preaching is in vain, Christ hasn\u2019t defeated death; and when we go to a funeral, it\u2019s hopelessness\u2014it really is\u2014but because Christ <em>has<\/em> defeated death, there is great hope in the message of Easter.\u00a0 \n\t\t\t<\/p>\n\t\t\t<p>\n\t\t\t\t<br><strong>Bob:<\/strong>\u00a0 Your wife, Barbara, has been joining us this week.\u00a0 We\u2019ve been talking about Easter\u2014not because it\u2019s right around the corner\u2014but because we\u2019d like to be focusing on it even a little further out than normal, and have everybody thinking about this season of the year and how you can maximize it.\u00a0 \n\t\t\t<\/p>\n\t\t\t<p>\n\t\t\t\tBarbara\u2019s back with us again today.\u00a0 Welcome back.\u00a0 \n\t\t\t<\/p>\n\t\t\t<p>\n\t\t\t\t<strong>Barbara:<\/strong>\u00a0 Thank you, Bob.\u00a0 \n\t\t\t<\/p>\n\t\t\t<p>\n\t\t\t\t<strong>Bob:<\/strong>\u00a0 We\u2019ve been talking about a new resource that you have developed that is called \u201cBehold the Lamb\u201d.\u00a0 It\u2019s a wreath that can be placed in your home\u2014on a door, on a wall, on a stand that you put on a coffee table or on an end table somewhere.\u00a0 Attached to the wreath\u2014there are cards, in each packet, that explore the eight \u201cI AM\u201d statements that Jesus made about Himself in the Gospel of John.\u00a0 So, you use this as an Easter devotional during Holy Week; right?\u00a0 \n\t\t\t<\/p>\n\t\t\t<p>\n\t\t\t\t<strong>Barbara:<\/strong>\u00a0 That\u2019s right.\u00a0 Yes.\u00a0 \n\t\t\t<\/p>\n\t\t\t<p>\n\t\t\t\t<strong>Bob:<\/strong>\u00a0 And today, we\u2019ve asked Tracey Eyster, who heads up our <em>MomLife Today<\/em><sup>\u00ae<\/sup> blog to come in and join us.\u00a0 Tracey, welcome.\u00a0 \n\t\t\t<\/p>\n\t\t\t<p>\n\t\t\t\t<strong>Tracey:<\/strong>\u00a0 Hi!\u00a0 Good to be here.\u00a0 \n\t\t\t<\/p>\n\t\t\t<p>\n\t\t\t\t<strong>Bob:<\/strong>\u00a0 Nice to have you back with us.\u00a0 <br><br><strong>Dennis:<\/strong>\u00a0 She is also the author of <em>Be the Mom<\/em>, which is all about what we are talking about today.\u00a0 \n\t\t\t<\/p>\n\t\t\t<p>\n\t\t\t\t<strong>Bob:<\/strong>\u00a0 Yes, we\u2019re going to talk about ways that moms can get engaged with kids, during this season of year, to help draw attention, not just to the season, but to the message as Dennis was talking about.\u00a0 I say, \u201cMom\u2019s get involved,\u201d because\u2014let\u2019s just be honest\u2014dads are not going to do the crafting and the baking\u2014\n\t\t\t<\/p>\n\t\t\t<p>\n\t\t\t\t<strong>Barbara:<\/strong>\u00a0 That\u2019s right.\u00a0 \n\t\t\t<\/p>\n\t\t\t<p>\n\t\t\t\t<strong>Bob:<\/strong>\u00a0 \u2014that\u2019s associated with this.\u00a0 \n\t\t\t<\/p>\n\t\t\t<p>\n\t\t\t\t<strong>Dennis:<\/strong>\u00a0 No, they\u2019re going to be good for finding the plastic eggs\u2014the plastic Easter eggs\u2014\u00a0 \n\t\t\t<\/p>\n\t\t\t<p>\n\t\t\t\t<strong>Bob:<\/strong>\u00a0 Twenty years later.\u00a0 \n\t\t\t<\/p>\n\t\t\t<p>\n\t\t\t\t<strong>Dennis:<\/strong>\u00a0 Twenty years after the event.\u00a0 [Laughter]\u00a0 \n\t\t\t<\/p>\n\t\t\t<p>\n\t\t\t\t<strong>Bob:<\/strong>\u00a0 So, I\u2019m just curious when your kids were little, Barbara, were there annual traditions?\u00a0 This is before the days that FamilyLife had created our \u201cResurrection Eggs\u201d<sup>\u00ae<\/sup>.\u00a0 \n\t\t\t<\/p>\n\t\t\t<p>\n\t\t\t\t<br><strong>Barbara:<\/strong>\u00a0 That\u2019s right.\u00a0 \n\t\t\t<\/p>\n\t\t\t<p>\n\t\t\t\t<br><strong>Bob:<\/strong>\u00a0 So, you were on your own to come up with ideas.\u00a0 Were there any that you did, year-in and year-out, with your kids?\u00a0 \n\t\t\t<\/p>\n\t\t\t<p>\n\t\t\t\t<strong>Barbara: <\/strong>\u00a0No, there really wasn\u2019t.\u00a0 I\u2019m sad to report.\u00a0 I wish I had come up with some genius idea when my kids were little; but I was too busy, and too tired, and too overwhelmed to come up with a really great idea like I wanted to.\u00a0 We did hide eggs, and we always talked about the Resurrection.\u00a0 We made a big deal of Easter Sunday and celebrating Christ rising from the dead, but I longed for tools.\u00a0 I longed for ideas and things that I could do to really emphasize that truth with our kids.\u00a0 \n\t\t\t<\/p>\n\t\t\t<p>\n\t\t\t\tAnd you are right.\u00a0 This is for moms because moms are the ones who want those traditions.\u00a0 We\u2019re the ones who want to impart those lessons to our kids, and we need help.\u00a0 We need lots of ideas.\u00a0 \n\t\t\t<\/p>\n\t\t\t<p>\n\t\t\t\t<strong>Dennis:<\/strong>\u00a0 \u201cBehold the Lamb\u201d is going to do that.\u00a0 \n\t\t\t<\/p>\n\t\t\t<p>\n\t\t\t\t<strong>Barbara:<\/strong>\u00a0 Yes.\u00a0 \n\t\t\t<\/p>\n\t\t\t<p>\n\t\t\t\t<strong>Dennis:<\/strong>\u00a0\u00a0 I mean, this is a\u2014\n\t\t\t<\/p>\n\t\t\t<p>\n\t\t\t\t<strong>Barbara:<\/strong>\u00a0 Hopefully, it will.\u00a0 \n\t\t\t<\/p>\n\t\t\t<p>\n\t\t\t\t<strong>Dennis:<\/strong>\u00a0 This is a resource tool for families\u2014year, after year, after year\u2014to teach the truth about Christ, around the Resurrection season.\u00a0 \n\t\t\t<\/p>\n\t\t\t<p>\n\t\t\t\t<br>Tracey, what about you and your family?\u00a0 What did you guys do?\u00a0 \n\t\t\t<\/p>\n\t\t\t<p>\n\t\t\t\t<strong>Tracey:<\/strong>\u00a0 What we used to do\u2014Bill would read the account of Easter, starting with when Jesus entered Jerusalem.\u00a0 Our children would act out whatever he was reading.\u00a0 We have two kids.\u00a0 So, it was sort of this round table acting out.\u00a0 One would be the donkey, and one would be Jesus.\u00a0 Then, somebody would have to run over and throw some palms down.\u00a0 So, it was a massive acting. \n\t\t\t<\/p>\n\t\t\t<p>\n\t\t\t\tBut it was interesting because through the years\u2014we didn\u2019t do it ever year\u2014but through the years, you would see that their understanding\u2014and then, they would personally take on and think more about what was happening to Jesus or what was happening to the crowd.\u00a0 It was interesting to watch how their depth of thinking about the Easter story grew as they grew.\u00a0 \n\t\t\t<\/p>\n\t\t\t<p>\n\t\t\t\t<strong>Bob:<\/strong>\u00a0 Did you do this all in one sitting, from the Triumphal Entry, all the way through the Resurrection?\u00a0 \n\t\t\t<\/p>\n\t\t\t<p>\n\t\t\t\t<strong>Tracey:<\/strong>\u00a0 It was different times\u2014different years\u2014\n\t\t\t<\/p>\n\t\t\t<p>\n\t\t\t\t<strong>Bob:<\/strong>\u00a0 Okay.\u00a0 \n\t\t\t<\/p>\n\t\t\t<p>\n\t\t\t\t<strong>Tracey:<\/strong>\u00a0 \u2014as I recall, over different parts of the stories.\u00a0 Then, sometimes, it would be: \u201cWait!\u00a0 We want to act this out.\u201d\u00a0 So, then, they\u2019d jump up; and they\u2019d act that part out.\u00a0 \n\t\t\t<\/p>\n\t\t\t<p>\n\t\t\t\t<br><strong>Bob:<\/strong>\u00a0 That\u2019s cool.\u00a0 \n\t\t\t<\/p>\n\t\t\t<p>\n\t\t\t\t<strong>Barbara:<\/strong>\u00a0 Yes.\u00a0 You know, we didn\u2019t ever act out the Easter story.\u00a0 I was thinking this through, but I remember very clearly our kids did act out other things.\u00a0 They loved to do plays.\u00a0 Of course, they always charged Mom and Dad money to come, and sit, and watch them so they could earn a few little coins for their productions; but because we had six, we had a few more characters for the parts.\u00a0 \n\t\t\t<\/p>\n\t\t\t<p>\n\t\t\t\tBut I remember, in particular, our kids acting out the stoning of Stephen one year.\u00a0 I totally agree with Tracey in the fact that\u2014when our kids do these little plays and they get into role-playing\u2014they really do learn.\u00a0 I remember when our kids did the stoning of Stephen.\u00a0 Our son was Stephen.\u00a0 He was standing over there, and our other kids all made up rocks out of tin foil balls.\u00a0 They were having such a great time throwing these tin foil balls at our son, Samuel.\u00a0 \n\t\t\t<\/p>\n\t\t\t<p>\n\t\t\t\tBut all of a sudden, in the midst of their little play, Samuel\u2019s face totally changed.\u00a0 I\u2019ve never forgotten this moment, but it was like this dawning light of realization came over him.\u00a0 It occurred to him what was really happening\u2014what really happened in the story that Stephen was a martyr and that he died for his faith.\u00a0 I remember so clearly that realization that came over him as he acted that out.\u00a0 \n\t\t\t<\/p>\n\t\t\t<p>\n\t\t\t\tAnd I know that would be true if kids acted out the Easter story, too.\u00a0 They would understand a little bit deeper what it meant for Jesus to come in on the donkey, what it meant for Him to be betrayed, what it meant for Him to give up His life on the cross for us.\u00a0 \n\t\t\t<\/p>\n\t\t\t<p>\n\t\t\t\t<strong>Bob:<\/strong>\u00a0 Did one of your kids actually act out the nailing of another one to a cross?\u00a0 \n\t\t\t<\/p>\n\t\t\t<p>\n\t\t\t\t<strong>Tracey:<\/strong>\u00a0 No.\u00a0 \n\t\t\t<\/p>\n\t\t\t<p>\n\t\t\t\t<strong>Bob:<\/strong>\u00a0 You never carried it out to that\u2014\n\t\t\t<\/p>\n\t\t\t<p>\n\t\t\t\t<strong>Tracey:<\/strong>\u00a0 No.\u00a0 \n\t\t\t<\/p>\n\t\t\t<p>\n\t\t\t\t<strong>Bob:<\/strong>\u00a0 \u2014place?\u00a0 \n\t\t\t<\/p>\n\t\t\t<p>\n\t\t\t\t<strong>Tracey:<\/strong>\u00a0 They would look at\u2014like a blank space\u2014like that\u2019s where Jesus was.\n\t\t\t<\/p>\n\t\t\t<p>\n\t\t\t\t<strong>Bob:<\/strong>\u00a0 Got it.\u00a0 \n\t\t\t<\/p>\n\t\t\t<p>\n\t\t\t\t<strong>Tracey:<\/strong>\u00a0 Samara would be Mary.\u00a0 So, they acted out in a different way.\u00a0 I remember Wesley\u2014because he\u2019s a guy and he\u2019s a kid\u2014I can remember some realization for him when it came to the Roman solider because I remember him pretending to have a spear and like he was spearing Jesus\u2019 side.\u00a0 Again, that same thing\u2014like you remember with Samuel.\u00a0 You could see that that was clicking in His head\u2014and he was thinking.\u00a0 Again, I think it brings it to life for them; and it sticks with them.\u00a0 \n\t\t\t<\/p>\n\t\t\t<p>\n\t\t\t\t<strong>Bob:<\/strong>\u00a0 At our house, one of the things that Mary Ann did\u2014and this takes us to the kitchen, which is a place where a lot of family memories get made; right?\u00a0 \n\t\t\t<\/p>\n\t\t\t<p>\n\t\t\t\t<strong>Dennis:<\/strong>\u00a0 Right.\u00a0 \n\t\t\t<\/p>\n\t\t\t<p>\n\t\t\t\t<strong>Bob:<\/strong>\u00a0 Because a lot of food gets made, but she used to do an empty tomb cake.\u00a0 I went online and found that there are recipes for this\u2014and other people have done this.\u00a0 I\u2019m sure\u2014this was pre-internet\u2014but I\u2019m sure that somebody shared this recipe with her, where you make a round cake, you cut the middle of it out, you make a second layer,\u00a0 and you put the second layer over the top with this middle cut out of the first layer.\u00a0 So, now you\u2019ve got this empty tomb inside.\u00a0 You ice the whole thing over; and then, you cut out an opening into the empty part of the cave and put a cookie\u2014a big giant cookie, as the stone, in front of it.\u00a0 \n\t\t\t<\/p>\n\t\t\t<p>\n\t\t\t\tWe would have that out, I remember, Easter weekend and would eat it on Easter Sunday, after we\u2019d roll the stone away and verified that there was nothing inside the cake.\u00a0 I don\u2019t remember anybody craving the cake in particular, but it was just a good physical reminder\u2014something that drew the kids\u2019 attention\u2014\u201cWhat\u2019s that?\u201d\u2014and engaged their imaginations.\u00a0 \n\t\t\t<\/p>\n\t\t\t<p>\n\t\t\t\tI know, Tracey, you\u2019ve talked to some of the folks on the <em>MomLife Today<\/em><sup>\u00ae<\/sup> Facebook<sup>\u00ae<\/sup> page and asked them for ideas.\u00a0 Were there kitchen-related ideas that you found from them?\u00a0 \n\t\t\t<\/p>\n\t\t\t<p>\n\t\t\t\t<strong>Tracey:<\/strong>\u00a0 There were some kitchen-related ideas.\u00a0 One that\u2014it wasn\u2019t on our page, but I found it on another page, where a woman said that\u2014much what you did with the cake\u2014but she made a bunt cake and she cut it in half\u2014\n\t\t\t<\/p>\n\t\t\t<p>\n\t\t\t\t<strong>Bob:<\/strong>\u00a0 Oh.\n\t\t\t<\/p>\n\t\t\t<p>\n\t\t\t\t<strong>Tracey:<\/strong>\u00a0 \u2014and she sat it down.\u00a0 So, that might make that one a little simpler if someone heard that one.\u00a0 \n\t\t\t<\/p>\n\t\t\t<p>\n\t\t\t\tWe also had a mom on the <em>MomLife Today<\/em> Facebook page that said that they do a formal tea\u2014that her children had gotten a little bit older\u2014and so, some of the things that worked when they were younger weren\u2019t working as well.\u00a0 So, they have a formal tea at her house, which I thought sounded kind of nice.\u00a0 \n\t\t\t<\/p>\n\t\t\t<p>\n\t\t\t\t<strong>Bob:<\/strong>\u00a0 Interesting.\u00a0 Did she say that they do it on Easter Sunday or\u2014\n\t\t\t<\/p>\n\t\t\t<p>\n\t\t\t\t<strong>Tracey:<\/strong>\u00a0 Easter Sunday.\u00a0 She makes a big deal out of it\u2014invites a lot of different people\u2014so that there is a full table.\u00a0 They have a nice little, formal Easter tea.\u00a0 \n\t\t\t<\/p>\n\t\t\t<p>\n\t\t\t\t<br><strong>Dennis:<\/strong>\u00a0 Speaking of inviting people, I know a number of our listeners, over the years, have gotten involved in what FamilyLife has hosted\u2014\u201cThe World\u2019s Largest Neighborhood Easter Egg Hunt\u201d.\u00a0 \n\t\t\t<\/p>\n\t\t\t<p>\n\t\t\t\t<br><strong>Bob:<\/strong>\u00a0 Right.\u00a0 \n\t\t\t<\/p>\n\t\t\t<p>\n\t\t\t\t<strong>Dennis:<\/strong>\u00a0 So, they would host an Easter egg hunt on their property\u2014maybe, in their yard\u2014and they would use the 12 plastic eggs from \u201cResurrection Eggs\u201d and place them amidst of the other eggs that had prizes in them.\u00a0 Then, get all the kids together and begin to open the various colored eggs that had objects in it that told the story of Easter and shared the Gospel with kids.\u00a0 \n\t\t\t<\/p>\n\t\t\t<p>\n\t\t\t\t<strong>Bob:<\/strong>\u00a0 So, some of the eggs had gummy bears, and jelly beans, and all of that in it; right?\u00a0 \n\t\t\t<\/p>\n\t\t\t<p>\n\t\t\t\t<strong>Dennis:<\/strong>\u00a0 Yes; but the evidence was immediately eaten, at that point.\u00a0 [Laughter]\u00a0 \n\t\t\t<\/p>\n\t\t\t<p>\n\t\t\t\t<strong>Bob:<\/strong>\u00a0 But\u2014\n\t\t\t<\/p>\n\t\t\t<p>\n\t\t\t\t<strong>Dennis:<\/strong>\u00a0 There was no story to tell there.\u00a0 \n\t\t\t<\/p>\n\t\t\t<p>\n\t\t\t\t<strong>Bob:<\/strong>\u00a0 \u2014but if you opened one of these plastic eggs, and instead of jelly beans you found a donkey, then\u2014\n\t\t\t<\/p>\n\t\t\t<p>\n\t\t\t\t<strong>Dennis:<\/strong>\u00a0 Right.\u00a0 \n\t\t\t<\/p>\n\t\t\t<p>\n\t\t\t\t<br><strong>Bob:<\/strong>\u00a0 \u2014then, whoever the parent is\u2014would stop and say, \u201cWell, let\u2019s talk about the donkey.\u00a0 Why do you think there\u2019s a donkey in there?\u201d\u00a0 And get a chance to tell the Easter story, using the \u201cResurrection Eggs\u201d.\u00a0\u00a0 In fact, our team developed an activity book that is\u2014I was just looking at this\u201460-some pages with coloring pages.\u00a0 There\u2019s a maze, there are games, and there are all kinds of things you can do that tie in to the \u201cResurrection Eggs\u201d.\u00a0 \n\t\t\t<\/p>\n\t\t\t<p>\n\t\t\t\tThis is on our website at FamilyLifeToday.com.\u00a0 You can download and invited folks to share ideas.\u00a0 What were some of the other ideas that people had?\u00a0 \n\t\t\t<\/p>\n\t\t\t<p>\n\t\t\t\t<strong>Tracey:<\/strong>\u00a0 Well, to me, it wasn\u2019t very surprising that one of the biggest ideas that we heard repeatedly was about \u201cResurrection Eggs\u201d.\u00a0 \n\t\t\t<\/p>\n\t\t\t<p>\n\t\t\t\tI know, even last year, I was at a homeschool event, speaking.\u00a0 We had a booth there.\u00a0 You would not believe the number of children that were drawn over to our booth because we had \u201cResurrection Eggs\u201d sitting there.\u00a0 I\u2019m talking\u2014there were five-year-olds that came over, and nine-year-olds that came over, and sixteen-year-olds came over\u2014that started explaining \u201cResurrection Eggs\u201d to me.\u00a0 So, I can vouch for the fact that a lot of our moms out there enjoy the \u201cResurrection Eggs\u201d.\u00a0 \n\t\t\t<\/p>\n\t\t\t<p>\n\t\t\t\tI remember there was one mom, Carla, who said that part of what they do, at their home, is they watch movies.\u00a0 So, whether it was <em>Narnia<\/em> or <em>Passion of the Christ<\/em>\u2014just as a family, they would watch movies.\u00a0 I know\u2014my family\u2014we used to always watch <em>The Ten Commandments<\/em>.\u00a0 Then, I carried that on with my children.\u00a0 Then, it\u2019s just a great way to start discussion in the family.\u00a0 \n\t\t\t<\/p>\n\t\t\t<p>\n\t\t\t\t<br><strong>Bob:<\/strong>\u00a0 Of course, you don\u2019t want to watch <em>Passion of the Christ<\/em> with younger kids because it\u2019s\u2014\n\t\t\t<\/p>\n\t\t\t<p>\n\t\t\t\t<strong>Dennis:<\/strong>\u00a0 Right.\u00a0 \n\t\t\t<\/p>\n\t\t\t<p>\n\t\t\t\t<strong>Bob:<\/strong>\u00a0 \u2014it\u2019s pretty raw.\u00a0 The <em>JESUS<\/em> film may be a better option, and there is a <em>JESUS<\/em> film for kids, too; right?\u00a0\u00a0 \n\t\t\t<\/p>\n\t\t\t<p>\n\t\t\t\t<strong>Dennis:<\/strong>\u00a0 There is; and you can go to our website, again, to find out more information about that.\u00a0 \n\t\t\t<\/p>\n\t\t\t<p>\n\t\t\t\t<br><strong>Bob:<\/strong>\u00a0 And our family\u2014I don\u2019t know if you ever watched any of these\u2014but we\u2019re kind of into movies at our house; right?\u00a0 So, our family would watch <em>The Robe<\/em>.\u00a0 Have you ever seen the old movie, <em>The Robe<\/em>?\u00a0 \n\t\t\t<\/p>\n\t\t\t<p>\n\t\t\t\t<strong>Barbara:<\/strong>\u00a0 Love the movie <em>The Robe<\/em>.\u00a0 \n\t\t\t<\/p>\n\t\t\t<p>\n\t\t\t\t<strong>Bob:<\/strong>\u00a0 Yes, okay.\u00a0 \n\t\t\t<\/p>\n\t\t\t<p>\n\t\t\t\t<strong>Barbara:<\/strong>\u00a0 And <em>Ben-Hur<\/em>\u2014did you watch <em>Ben-Hur<\/em>?\u00a0 \n\t\t\t<\/p>\n\t\t\t<p>\n\t\t\t\t<strong>Bob:<\/strong>\u00a0 And <em>Barabbas<\/em>.\u00a0 Anthony Quinn was in the movie, <em>Barabbas<\/em>, in 1962, I think it was.\u00a0 There was a period of time, in Hollywood, from the late 50s to the early 60s, where they were making biblical epics, all the time.\u00a0 Some of these\u2014<em>The Robe<\/em> is a stirring film about somebody who finds the robe of Jesus.\u00a0 It\u2019s fictional, but it still engaged the kids to be thinking about that period of history.\u00a0 \n\t\t\t<\/p>\n\t\t\t<p>\n\t\t\t\t<strong>Tracey:<\/strong>\u00a0 I did want to add that the\u2014going back to the dinner table\u2014that last year, when we read our \u201cBehold the Lamb\u201d booklets\u2014it was a perfect time because we were all together at the dinner table.\u00a0 We put our wreath, right there, in the kitchen.\u00a0 Our 16- year-old son\u2014he would read it at the dinner table.\u00a0 It made for really good dinner conversation.\u00a0 So, he would take the card over and place it on the wreath.\u00a0 So, definitely, we agree with the whole dinnertime conversation.\u00a0 That\u2019s when you get them.\u00a0 They are ready to talk, then.\u00a0 \n\t\t\t<\/p>\n\t\t\t<p>\n\t\t\t\t<strong>Barbara:<\/strong>\u00a0 And I think that\u2019s so cool that Wesley, at 16 years old, was involved in doing this.\u00a0 I mean, we tend to think of these things for our younger kids; but these teenagers need to learn, too.\u00a0 And they\u2019ll get involved.\u00a0 We just need to not be intimidated by their\u2014\u00a0 \n\t\t\t<\/p>\n\t\t\t<p>\n\t\t\t\t<strong>Dennis:<\/strong>\u00a0 Well, again, the statements that Christ made about Himself in John: \u201cI am the door,\u201d \u201cI am the good shepherd,\u201d \u201cI am the Messiah,\u201d and then, the last one on Resurrection Day, \u201cI am the Resurrection, the true life.\u201d\u00a0 I mean, what a great opportunity to talk about how Christ\u2014\n\t\t\t<\/p>\n\t\t\t<p>\n\t\t\t\tWell, when our granddaughter, Molly, died, someone sent us a poem that described a grave as a doorway cut in sod.\u00a0 So, a grave can be a great opportunity to teach your kids that it is a doorway, if you know Jesus Christ as your Lord and Savior\u2014that it is a doorway to heaven.\u00a0 \n\t\t\t<\/p>\n\t\t\t<p>\n\t\t\t\t<strong>Bob:<\/strong>\u00a0 Barbara, Easter is still weeks away.\u00a0 A lot of folks haven\u2019t even thought about Easter yet.\u00a0 We\u2019re just past Valentine\u2019s Day, and it\u2019s kind of like the last thing on your mind.\u00a0 It\u2019s not going to be until the end of March this year, but you\u2019re suggesting it\u2019s not too early to start engaging on this subject.\u00a0 \n\t\t\t<\/p>\n\t\t\t<p>\n\t\t\t\t<strong>Barbara:<\/strong>\u00a0 Well, I have a real desire to help families\u2014believing families\u2014celebrate Easter in a much greater way than we currently do.\u00a0 Most families may get new clothes for their kids.\u00a0 They may do an Easter egg hunt.\u00a0 They go to church on Sunday morning, and then come home, and, then, it\u2019s over.\u00a0 But I would love to see us elevate the celebration of Easter in a much greater way, among those of us who know Christ.\u00a0 \n\t\t\t<\/p>\n\t\t\t<p>\n\t\t\t\tSo, I think it\u2019s not too early to start thinking about Easter and planning:\u00a0 \u201cWhat can you do, in your family, to make the celebration of Easter as important as it really is?\u201d instead of making it kind of an afterthought or, \u201cIt\u2019s just a little bit different Sunday.\u201d\u00a0 What can you do to really make this Easter Sunday a real difference-maker in your family?\u00a0 How can you elevate it, within your family?\u00a0 Maybe, invite extended family, invite neighbors; but make Easter Sunday a celebration, all-day.\u00a0 Don\u2019t just go to church, and come home, and go back to the ordinary; but think of some things that you can do to make Easter Sunday stand out among all the other Sundays of the year.\u00a0 \n\t\t\t<\/p>\n\t\t\t<p>\n\t\t\t\t<strong>Dennis:<\/strong>\u00a0 If you go back and look in the Old Testament, God placed a great deal of emphasis on the symbols of the Passover and everything that surrounded it.\u00a0 I think He wanted to tie this in to families so that, through those traditions, the true meaning of Easter week\u2014His death, His burial, and then, on the third day, coming back to life\u2014the tomb is empty.\u00a0 Death is defeated.\u00a0 It\u2019s a great way to instruct kids around the true meaning of the Gospel.\u00a0 \n\t\t\t<\/p>\n\t\t\t<p>\n\t\t\t\t<strong>Bob:<\/strong>\u00a0 Tracey, in the <em>MomLife Today<\/em> community, this is a subject\u2014this issue of spiritual development of your children\u2014just comes up over and over again; doesn\u2019t it?\u00a0 \n\t\t\t<\/p>\n\t\t\t<p>\n\t\t\t\t<strong>Tracey:<\/strong>\u00a0 It does.\u00a0 And what I would say\u2014when I was listening to Dennis, what I thought was, as a mom, you know your child\u2019s bent.\u00a0 You know what would kind of excite them and stick with them.\u00a0 Even as I was listening to what he was saying, I thought, \u201cSo, this year, I\u2019m going to get Wesley to get a big bucket of water, or paint, or something.\u00a0 I\u2019m going to have him stripe our door because I know the way he thinks and what he likes.\u00a0 For him, to be able to do that\u2014he\u2019s just sort of lived out something that he\u2019s heard, year after year, in the Bible.\u00a0 <br><br>So, what we like to do\u2014and I would like to do\u2014is just ask all those moms out there:\u00a0 \u201cYou know your child.\u00a0 You know their bent.\u00a0 If what would excite your child\u2014is Easter morning, running out there and ripping all those black cloths off the window, and seeing the light, and saying: \u201cHe has risen!\u00a0 He has risen!\u201d because you know that is the way your child is made\u2014then, bring that to life for your child!\u00a0 \n\t\t\t<\/p>\n\t\t\t<p>\n\t\t\t\tIf you know your child is artsy and wants to sit down and make that cake like Mary Ann used to make and want\u2014so, however your child\u2019s bent is\u2014search the Scriptures for what you know would make Easter come to life for them.\u00a0 And then, go for it!\u00a0 Make something up if you haven\u2019t found it on the internet.\u00a0 And then, let us know about it so we can share it with other moms.\u00a0 \n\t\t\t<\/p>\n\t\t\t<p>\n\t\t\t\t<strong>Bob:<\/strong><strong>\u00a0 <\/strong>If you have little boys, go to the part in Scripture where Peter cuts off the ear of the guard because they\u2019ll want to act that scene out over and over again, around the house\u2014\u00a0 \n\t\t\t<\/p>\n\t\t\t<p>\n\t\t\t\t<br><strong>Barbara:<\/strong>\u00a0 \u2014especially, on their brother.\u00a0 [Laughter]\u00a0 \n\t\t\t<\/p>\n\t\t\t<p>\n\t\t\t\t<strong>Bob:<\/strong>\u00a0 That\u2019s right.\u00a0 That\u2019s what I\u2019m thinking.\u00a0 \n\t\t\t<\/p>\n\t\t\t<p>\n\t\t\t\t<br><strong>Dennis:<\/strong>\u00a0 Yes, you just want to make sure you\u2019ve got plastic swords.\u00a0 \n\t\t\t<\/p>\n\t\t\t<p>\n\t\t\t\t<strong>Bob:<\/strong>\u00a0 That\u2019s right.\u00a0 \n\t\t\t<\/p>\n\t\t\t<p>\n\t\t\t\t<strong>Tracey:<\/strong>\u00a0 Yes.\u00a0 \n\t\t\t<\/p>\n\t\t\t<p>\n\t\t\t\t<strong>Dennis:<\/strong>\u00a0 I mean, they, literally, might take that literally.\u00a0 [Laughter]\u00a0 Well, what we\u2019re really challenging our listeners to do is engage\u2014\n\t\t\t<\/p>\n\t\t\t<p>\n\t\t\t\t<strong>Tracey:<\/strong>\u00a0 Yes.\u00a0 \n\t\t\t<\/p>\n\t\t\t<p>\n\t\t\t\t<br><strong>Dennis:<\/strong>\u00a0 \u2014and move beyond the Easter basket, with the chocolate bunnies, and some of the candy, that really\u2014I\u2019d like to know where that stuff is made.\u00a0 Some of that candy is just\u2014\n\t\t\t<\/p>\n\t\t\t<p>\n\t\t\t\t<strong>Bob:<\/strong>\u00a0 When it was made!\u00a0 \n\t\t\t<\/p>\n\t\t\t<p>\n\t\t\t\t<strong>Dennis:<\/strong>\u00a0 Exactly!\u00a0 It has to be a hundred years old\u2014some of it\u2014but move beyond that to the glorious message that: \u201cHe is risen!\u201d and, \u201cYour faith is not in vain.\u00a0 He\u2019s alive!\u201d\u00a0 And because of that, He can engage people today\u2014enter their lives and transform them into becoming like He was when He was here.\u00a0 \n\t\t\t<\/p>\n\t\t\t<p>\n\t\t\t\t<br><strong>Bob:<\/strong>\u00a0 Well, and
