and people should be on their feet, with their hands lifted, cheering over the miracle of the Resurrection!\n\t\t\t<\/p>\n\t\t\t<p>\n\t\t\t\t<strong>Bob:<\/strong>\u00a0 This is <em>FamilyLife Today<\/em> for Monday, February 18<sup>th<\/sup>.\u00a0 Our host is the President of FamilyLife<sup>\u00ae<\/sup>, Dennis Rainey, and I'm Bob Lepine.\u00a0 We\u2019re going to talk about some ways that families can heighten the importance of Easter during the Lenten season this year\u2014ways that you can get ready for a more glorious Resurrection celebration.\u00a0\u00a0 Stay tuned.\n\t\t\t<\/p>\n\t\t\t<p>\n\t\t\t\tAnd welcome to <em>FamilyLife Today<\/em>.\u00a0 Thanks for joining us.\u00a0 Do you have a little room at the house that\u2019s kind of your room for projects you\u2019re working on\u2014you know, a little shop room or something, where\u2014?\n\t\t\t<\/p>\n\t\t\t<p>\n\t\t\t\t<strong>Dennis:<\/strong>\u00a0 I used to.\n\t\t\t<\/p>\n\t\t\t<p>\n\t\t\t\t<strong>Bob:<\/strong>\u00a0 Did you?\n\t\t\t<\/p>\n\t\t\t<p>\n\t\t\t\t<strong>Dennis:<\/strong>\u00a0 Yes, but Barbara overtook it with all of her projects.\u00a0 [Laughter]\n\t\t\t<\/p>\n\t\t\t<p>\n\t\t\t\t<strong>Bob:<\/strong>\u00a0 That\u2019s what I was wondering.\u00a0 I keep seeing Barbara show up here with, \u201cLook at this thing I\u2019ve been working on here.\u201d\u00a0 I\u2019m thinking, \u201cYour house must just be\u2014\u201d\u00a0 [Laughter]\n\t\t\t<\/p>\n\t\t\t<p>\n\t\t\t\t<strong>Dennis:<\/strong>\u00a0 We had a playroom at one time, Bob\u2014that we had a ping pong table in there and\u2014 \n\t\t\t<\/p>\n\t\t\t<p>\n\t\t\t\t<strong>Barbara:<\/strong>\u00a0 \u2014a foosball machine.\n\t\t\t<\/p>\n\t\t\t<p>\n\t\t\t\t<strong>Dennis:<\/strong> \u2014and a cheap foosball machine we bought at a garage sale, but those are long-gone.\u00a0 There\u2019s no room for them!\n\t\t\t<\/p>\n\t\t\t<p>\n\t\t\t\t<strong>Bob:<\/strong>\u00a0 Completely covered by Barbara Rainey. \n\t\t\t<\/p>\n\t\t\t<p>\n\t\t\t\t<strong>Dennis:<\/strong>\u00a0 I have never seen my wife work harder on anything, other than being a mom and a wife, than what I have seen in the last two years.\u00a0 She has been going flat-out!\n\t\t\t<\/p>\n\t\t\t<p>\n\t\t\t\t<strong>Bob:<\/strong>\u00a0 And, by the way, welcome back to <em>FamilyLife Today.<\/em>\n\t\t\t<\/p>\n\t\t\t<p>\n\t\t\t\t<em>\u00a0<\/em>\n\t\t\t<\/p>\n\t\t\t<p>\n\t\t\t\t<strong>Barbara:<\/strong>\u00a0 Thanks, Bob.\n\t\t\t<\/p>\n\t\t\t<p>\n\t\t\t\t<strong>Bob:<\/strong>\u00a0 What has gotten into you?\n\t\t\t<\/p>\n\t\t\t<p>\n\t\t\t\t<strong>Barbara:<\/strong>\u00a0 Well, I\u2019ve had some ideas; and I finally have the freedom, in the empty nest years, to be able to see if they work.\u00a0 As of today, we know that they work because the \u201cAdorenaments\u201d<sup>\u00ae<\/sup> were the first test.\u00a0 The \u201cAdorenaments\u201d were wildly successful in Christmas of 2012.\n\t\t\t<\/p>\n\t\t\t<p>\n\t\t\t\t<strong>Bob:<\/strong>\u00a0 These were the Christmas tree ornaments, that you designed, with names of Jesus\u2014that we ordered a bunch and\u2014\n\t\t\t<\/p>\n\t\t\t<p>\n\t\t\t\t<strong>Dennis:<\/strong>\u00a0 \u2014sold out.\n\t\t\t<\/p>\n\t\t\t<p>\n\t\t\t\t<strong>Bob and Barbara:<\/strong><strong>\u00a0 <\/strong>We should have ordered more! [Laughter]\n\t\t\t<\/p>\n\t\t\t<p>\n\t\t\t\t<strong>Dennis:<\/strong>\u00a0 You know, I have to tell a funny story because a friend of mine had just visited Colorado Springs.\u00a0 Evidently, they were calling Dr. Dobson and <em>Focus on the Family<\/em><sup>\u00ae<\/sup>, ordering \u201cAdorenaments\u201d.\u00a0 They didn\u2019t have any because Barbara had created them and only FamilyLife had them, but it was really funny that other ministries were getting phone calls for \u201cAdorenaments\u201d.\n\t\t\t<\/p>\n\t\t\t<p>\n\t\t\t\t<strong>Bob:<\/strong>\u00a0 And, then, we\u2019ve got a lot of families, right now, who are going through this new resource you\u2019ve created for the Lenten season called \u201cThe Messiah Mystery\u201d<sup>\u2122<\/sup>.\n\t\t\t<\/p>\n\t\t\t<p>\n\t\t\t\t<strong>Barbara:<\/strong>\u00a0 Yes, that\u2019s right.\n\t\t\t<\/p>\n\t\t\t<p>\n\t\t\t\t<strong>Bob:<\/strong>\u00a0 It\u2019s a devotional that families can go through that show them the Old Testament clues about the Messiah.\u00a0 It\u2019s a lot of fun, and we\u2019re hearing back from folks who are using that.\u00a0 That\u2019s exciting; and now, you show up today\u2014and you\u2019ve got something new you\u2019ve been working on.\n\t\t\t<\/p>\n\t\t\t<p>\n\t\t\t\t<strong>Barbara:<\/strong>\u00a0 Well, we have to celebrate Easter.\u00a0 Without Easter, we have nothing.\n\t\t\t<\/p>\n\t\t\t<p>\n\t\t\t\t<strong>Bob:<\/strong>\u00a0 Right.\n\t\t\t<\/p>\n\t\t\t<p>\n\t\t\t\t<strong>Barbara:<\/strong>\u00a0 So, the whole purpose of Lent is to prepare our hearts to celebrate the resurrection of Jesus Christ.\u00a0 What we have\u2014after you finish your Lenten experience\u2014\u201cThe Messiah Mystery\u201d with your family\u2014then, you spend Holy Week preparing for Easter Sunday\u2014for Resurrection Sunday.\u00a0 This resource, that I\u2019m really excited about, is talking about what Jesus went through His last week of life.\u00a0 It also is helping your children and we, as parents, too, learn about what Jesus said about Himself.\u00a0 \n\t\t\t<\/p>\n\t\t\t<p>\n\t\t\t\tIn the book of John, Jesus makes all of His \u201cI AM\u201d statements that He made while He was on earth.\u00a0 They\u2019re all in that one book:\u00a0 \u201cI am the Bread of Life,\u201d \u201cI am the Light of the World,\u201d \u201cI am the True Vine,\u201d \u201cI am the Good Shepherd,\u201d and so on.\u00a0 I thought: \u201cWow!\u00a0 That would be a great way to talk about what Jesus did and why He came and Who He is in a very simple way and take children\u2014and parents, for that matter, because this is as much for parents as it is for kids\u2014but to take the family through those statements that He made about Himself\u2014that tell us clues about Who He is and what He came to do.\u201d\n\t\t\t<\/p>\n\t\t\t<p>\n\t\t\t\t<strong>Dennis:<\/strong>\u00a0 Barbara, you pound the table, uniquely, about Easter.\u00a0 You really feel like it\u2019s an important holiday for followers of Christ to celebrate the truth about the life, death, burial, and resurrection of Jesus Christ.\n\t\t\t<\/p>\n\t\t\t<p>\n\t\t\t\t<strong>Barbara:<\/strong>\u00a0 Yes, I do.\u00a0 It\u2019s been interesting, as I\u2019ve thought about it, that we spend so much time, and so much money, and so much effort celebrating Christmas.\u00a0 Christmas is worthy of our great celebrations.\u00a0 But, by comparison, we spend very little time, very little money, very little energy, very little effort preparing for and celebrating Easter.\n\t\t\t<\/p>\n\t\t\t<p>\n\t\t\t\tSo often, it\u2019s just a little bit grander a church service, perhaps; and then, you go home and same-old, same-old.\u00a0 Maybe, you wear new clothes; but other than that, what do we do?\u00a0 There\u2019s very little available to help us, as families, know how to truly celebrate the miraculous event that the Resurrection is.\u00a0 I wanted to do that when we were raising our kids, but I couldn\u2019t find anything.\u00a0 I couldn\u2019t figure out how I could help my kids understand the grandeur.\u00a0 I mean, quite honestly, we should be celebrating the Resurrection like we celebrate Super Bowl Sunday.\u00a0 We should have stadiums; and people should be on their feet, with their hands lifted, cheering over the miracle of the Resurrection!\n\t\t\t<\/p>\n\t\t\t<p>\n\t\t\t\t<strong>Dennis:<\/strong>\u00a0 Yes, yes.\n\t\t\t<\/p>\n\t\t\t<p>\n\t\t\t\t<strong>Barbara:<\/strong>\u00a0 But we do bunnies and we do Easter egg hunts\u2014and there\u2019s nothing wrong with Easter egg hunts because we have \u201cRez Eggs\u201d.\u00a0 [Laughter]\n\t\t\t<\/p>\n\t\t\t<p>\n\t\t\t\t<strong>Bob:<\/strong>\u00a0 Especially\u2014I was going to say, \u201c\u2014especially, if you use Resurrection Eggs<sup>\u00ae<\/sup>!\u201d\n\t\t\t<\/p>\n\t\t\t<p>\n\t\t\t\t<strong>Barbara:<\/strong>\u00a0 And Rez Eggs are wonderful\u2014I\u2019m all for \u201cRez Eggs\u201d \u2014but we just <em>don\u2019t<\/em> do very much.\u00a0 I feel like it\u2019s a big gap\u2014it\u2019s a big hole in our Christian calendar and the events that we celebrate, as families.\u00a0 I think there\u2019s so much more that can be done to help families\u2014and parents, too\u2014celebrate the Resurrection.\n\t\t\t<\/p>\n\t\t\t<p>\n\t\t\t\t<strong>Bob:<\/strong>\u00a0 Okay, so most of the time\u2014if somebody was meditating on particular passages of Scripture\u2014like the \u201cI AM\u201d statements from John\u2019s Gospel that you mentioned\u2014and they said, \u201cWe\u2019re going to make an effort to focus on this during Holy Week,\u201d\u2014then, they might write some blog posts or sit down and share a devotional around that.\u00a0 But you kind of used that as a starting point to create something that is going to be a focal point, in your home, during that time of year.\n\t\t\t<\/p>\n\t\t\t<p>\n\t\t\t\t<strong>Barbara:<\/strong>\u00a0 Yes.\n\t\t\t<\/p>\n\t\t\t<p>\n\t\t\t\t<strong>Bob:<\/strong>\u00a0 So explain why you don\u2019t just write out some blog posts.\n\t\t\t<\/p>\n\t\t\t<p>\n\t\t\t\t<strong>Barbara:<\/strong>\u00a0 Write a book?\n\t\t\t<\/p>\n\t\t\t<p>\n\t\t\t\t<strong>Bob:<\/strong>\u00a0 Yes, write a book.\n\t\t\t<\/p>\n\t\t\t<p>\n\t\t\t\t<strong>Barbara:<\/strong>\u00a0 I think because there\u2019s a real important principle for us, as believers; and that\u2019s for us to proclaim our faith.\u00a0 We don\u2019t just proclaim our faith \u201cout there\u201d to strangers.\u00a0 We need to proclaim our faith to our children.\u00a0 We need to proclaim our faith in our homes.\u00a0 People come by our homes\u2014people see what we do at home.\u00a0 If it\u2019s just in a book, it\u2019s somewhat hidden.\u00a0 I think it\u2019s a great opportunity for us to teach our kids truth but also have a way to display that truth that we\u2019re teaching them.\n\t\t\t<\/p>\n\t\t\t<p>\n\t\t\t\tPlus, when you\u2019re working with kids, the more interactive a resource can be\u2014it\u2019s not just them listening passively\u2014the more they\u2019re going to get it.\u00a0 So, the resource that I\u2019ve created\u2014that we\u2019re talking about today\u2014\u201cBehold the Lamb\u201d\u2014 it has good material to read to your kids, but there\u2019s an activity.\u00a0 You take the card, and you put it on a wreath.\u00a0 The wreath is displayed in your home so that, throughout the whole week of Easter, that\u2019s the focal point\u2014not bunnies, not brightly-colored eggs, or whatever you might have as your celebration for Easter.\u00a0 There is something in your home that is declaring what is most important for you, and for your family, during Easter week.\n\t\t\t<\/p>\n\t\t\t<p>\n\t\t\t\t<strong>Bob:<\/strong>\u00a0 This is the first time I\u2019ve ever heard of an Easter wreath.\u00a0 I mean, I\u2019ve heard of Christmas wreaths\u2014although, I guess wreaths are kind of popping up\u2014all the time, everywhere, anymore\u2014aren\u2019t they?\n\t\t\t<\/p>\n\t\t\t<p>\n\t\t\t\t<strong>Barbara:<\/strong>\u00a0 Yes.\u00a0 Everybody knows what a wreath is.\u00a0 Initially, what I wanted to do was to create something that we can put on our front door because I want something on my front door that declares that, \u201cI\u2019m a believer,\u201d\u2014during Easter week.\u00a0 And I want anybody who comes by to know that\u2019s what I believe.\u00a0 So, initially, I wanted to do a wreath that would hang outside.\u00a0 This one is not\u2014although it could be because it\u2019s not going to be damaged by weather\u2014but it\u2019s really not meant to be used outside.\u00a0 \n\t\t\t<\/p>\n\t\t\t<p>\n\t\t\t\t<strong>Bob:<\/strong>\u00a0 Explain what it looks like.\u00a0 As you said, it could be attached to a nail on the front door.\u00a0 \n\t\t\t<\/p>\n\t\t\t<p>\n\t\t\t\t<strong>Barbara:<\/strong>\u00a0 Yes.\n\t\t\t<\/p>\n\t\t\t<p>\n\t\t\t\t<strong>Bob:<\/strong>\u00a0 Is this kind of a wrought iron?\u00a0 Is that what you\u2019d call it?\n\t\t\t<\/p>\n\t\t\t<p>\n\t\t\t\t<strong>Barbara:<\/strong>\u00a0 It\u2019s metal.\n\t\t\t<\/p>\n\t\t\t<p>\n\t\t\t\t<strong>Bob:<\/strong>\u00a0 Okay.\n\t\t\t<\/p>\n\t\t\t<p>\n\t\t\t\t<strong>Barbara:<\/strong>\u00a0 So it\u2019s not breakable.\u00a0 I\u2019m really big on creating things that kids can use that they\u2019re not afraid\u2014parents aren\u2019t afraid they\u2019re going to break\u2014kids aren\u2019t worried about breaking them.\u00a0 It\u2019s metal.\u00a0 To describe it\u2014I think a lot of women listening will understand what I mean\u2014it\u2019s like a card holder.\u00a0 The wreath, itself, is a series of circles that go all of the way around; but the circles are tightly-connected.\n\t\t\t<\/p>\n\t\t\t<p>\n\t\t\t\t<strong>Bob:<\/strong> Okay.\n\t\t\t<\/p>\n\t\t\t<p>\n\t\t\t\t<strong>Barbara:<\/strong>\u00a0 For instance, I\u2019ve seen wreaths similar to this\u2014or I\u2019ve seen this kind of a design in other shapes\u2014not necessarily a wreath shape.\u00a0 You can buy them to put photographs in, or to put birthday cards in, or to put your Christmas cards in.\u00a0 It\u2019s the same concept.\u00a0 It\u2019s a \u201cpaper holder\u201d for lack of a better word because the concentric rings will hold a sheet of paper, will hold a photograph, will hold a card.\n\t\t\t<\/p>\n\t\t\t<p>\n\t\t\t\t<strong>Bob:<\/strong>\u00a0 But your idea is not to put photographs or Easter cards in.\n\t\t\t<\/p>\n\t\t\t<p>\n\t\t\t\t<strong>Barbara:<\/strong>\u00a0 Correct.\n\t\t\t<\/p>\n\t\t\t<p>\n\t\t\t\t<strong>Bob:<\/strong>\u00a0 You\u2019ve created something that goes in the card holders.\n\t\t\t<\/p>\n\t\t\t<p>\n\t\t\t\t<strong>Barbara:<\/strong>\u00a0 Exactly.\u00a0 The wreath has a stand that you can put on your table, on your counter, or you can take the stand off and\u2014there\u2019s a hook\u2014you can hang it on your wall.\u00a0 The wreath also comes with a centerpiece.\u00a0 The centerpiece is really important for this \u201cBehold the Lamb\u201d product because it says in the center of the wreath, \u201cI AM\u201d.\u00a0 On the top of the \u201cI AM\u201d, there is a lamb.\n\t\t\t<\/p>\n\t\t\t<p>\n\t\t\t\t<strong>Bob:<\/strong>\u00a0 Yes.\n\t\t\t<\/p>\n\t\t\t<p>\n\t\t\t\t<strong>Barbara:<\/strong>\u00a0 That\u2019s a really important starting place for talking about what Jesus declared to us in all of his \u201cI AM\u201d statements.\n\t\t\t<\/p>\n\t\t\t<p>\n\t\t\t\t<strong>Dennis:<\/strong>\u00a0 Yes.\u00a0 Let\u2019s just talk about this for a moment because the first card that you pull out of a burlap pouch\u2014that is entitled \u201cBehold the Lamb.\u201d\u00a0 You\u2019ve got\u2014it looks like about eight cards, in addition to this introductory card.\n\t\t\t<\/p>\n\t\t\t<p>\n\t\t\t\t<strong>Barbara:<\/strong>\u00a0 That\u2019s right.\n\t\t\t<\/p>\n\t\t\t<p>\n\t\t\t\t<strong>Dennis:<\/strong>\u00a0 You\u2019ve ask the question:\u00a0 \u201cWho is \u2018I AM\u2019?\u201d\u00a0 What this is meant to do is explain to you, or explain to your kids, what the origins are of God introducing Himself by saying, \u201cI AM.\u201d\u00a0 Explain what you\u2019ve written about here.\n\t\t\t<\/p>\n\t\t\t<p>\n\t\t\t\t<strong>Barbara:<\/strong>\u00a0 Well, in the Old Testament, there\u2019s the story that many of our listeners will recognize\u2014of Moses, when he encountered God in the burning bush.\u00a0 As the story goes, in Exodus, God began speaking to Moses.\u00a0 After they had this little conversation, Moses said, \u201cWhat is your name?\u201d\u00a0 If you think about it, when you first meet someone, what is one of the first things that you ask?\u00a0 \u201cWhat is your name?\u201d\u00a0 God was speaking to Moses; and Moses, logically, wanted to know, \u201cWhat is your name?\u201d\n\t\t\t<\/p>\n\t\t\t<p>\n\t\t\t\t<strong>Bob:<\/strong>\u00a0 Yes, \u201cWhat do I call You?\u00a0 Who are You?\u201d\n\t\t\t<\/p>\n\t\t\t<p>\n\t\t\t\t<strong>Barbara:<\/strong>\u00a0 Yes.\u00a0 \u201cWho are You?\u00a0 How do I address You?\u201d\u00a0 We all address one another by our names.\u00a0 The answer that God gave him is, \u201cI AM\u201d.\u00a0 Then, the dialogue continued; but God identified Himself, first, to Moses by the name, \u201cI AM\u201d\u2014which is an interesting name.\u00a0 There\u2019s a lot that we could talk about why God called Himself \u201cI AM\u201d; but the link to Easter is that Jesus identified Himself with that name when He was on earth by saying, \u201cI AM.\u201d\u00a0 He said, \u201cI am the Messiah,\u201d \u201cI am the Bread of Life,\u201d \u201cI am the Light of the World.\u201d\u00a0 He made other \u201cI AM\u201d statements about Who He was that further explained to His listeners, and to us, what the concept of God as \u201cI AM\u201d means, practically, to us.\n\t\t\t<\/p>\n\t\t\t<p>\n\t\t\t\t<strong>Bob:<\/strong>\u00a0 Have you tried to connect theses specific \u201cI AM\u201d statements to the events that took place during Holy Week\u2014the triumphal entry, and the overturning of the money-changers in the temple, and all of that going on?\n\t\t\t<\/p>\n\t\t\t<p>\n\t\t\t\t<strong>Barbara:<\/strong>\u00a0 Yes.\u00a0 It isn\u2019t exactly perfect, but we\u2019ve taken the \u201cI AM\u201d statements and followed them through chronologically, as much as we can.\u00a0 In these cards, the idea is that you read together about what the \u201cI AM\u201d statement means.\u00a0 Then, you will begin with the very first card, which is for Palm Sunday.\u00a0 You\u2019ll pull the card out for Palm Sunday.\u00a0 The first statement is the story in John 4 when Jesus said to the woman at the well, \u201cI am the Messiah.\u201d\n\t\t\t<\/p>\n\t\t\t<p>\n\t\t\t\tYou read about what that meant and why Jesus said that; but there\u2019s also an additional story, on this card, that talks about what Jesus did on Palm Sunday\u2014about His triumphal entry, and why He came on a donkey, and what that meant.\u00a0 So, as you read about His statement that He made about Himself, you\u2019re also learning about Palm Sunday, and the significance of that day, and the significance of what He did on that day.\n\t\t\t<\/p>\n\t\t\t<p>\n\t\t\t\t<strong>Bob:<\/strong>\u00a0 So once you read the card to your family, as a devotional, then, you attach the card on the wreath?\n\t\t\t<\/p>\n\t\t\t<p>\n\t\t\t\t<strong>Barbara:<\/strong>\u00a0 There are some questions that you can interact on, as a family.\n\t\t\t<\/p>\n\t\t\t<p>\n\t\t\t\t<strong>Bob:<\/strong>\u00a0 Okay.\n\t\t\t<\/p>\n\t\t\t<p>\n\t\t\t\t<strong>Barbara:<\/strong>\u00a0 After you finish it, then, you know, have one of the kids take it and stick it on the wreath.\u00a0 As the week progresses, the wreath gradually fills up with cards.\u00a0 Each one\u2014on the front of the card\u2014has a statement that Jesus made about Himself:\u00a0 \u201cI am the Messiah,\u201d \u201cI am the Bread of Life,\u201d etc.\n\t\t\t<\/p>\n\t\t\t<p>\n\t\t\t\t<strong>Bob:<\/strong>\u00a0 This is the first time I\u2019ve seen a wreath like this\u2014with a wreath stand like you\u2019ve got.\u00a0 Is that common?\u00a0 I mean, have you seen a lot of these?\n\t\t\t<\/p>\n\t\t\t<p>\n\t\t\t\t<strong>Barbara:<\/strong>\u00a0 I think most wreaths are hung on doors, or on walls, or on fireplaces; but I have seen a few\u2014not many, though.\n\t\t\t<\/p>\n\t\t\t<p>\n\t\t\t\t<strong>Bob:<\/strong>\u00a0 I really like it.\u00a0 It is a cool tabletop\u2014I think, sometimes, \u201cDo you really want to put a nail in the wall and then have to\u2014?\u201d\n\t\t\t<\/p>\n\t\t\t<p>\n\t\t\t\t<strong>Barbara:<\/strong>\u00a0 You don\u2019t always!\n\t\t\t<\/p>\n\t\t\t<p>\n\t\t\t\t<strong>Bob:<\/strong>\u00a0 But here, you can put it on top of an end table or a dining room table.\n\t\t\t<\/p>\n\t\t\t<p>\n\t\t\t\t<strong>Dennis:<\/strong>\u00a0 Yes, and it\u2019s elegant.\u00a0 It\u2019s really beautiful.\u00a0 Of course, that doesn\u2019t surprise me\u2014that\u2019s what Barbara likes to create\u2014something beautiful.\u00a0 It is 30 inches\u2014almost 30 inches tall and 16 inches wide.\u00a0 It really is a centerpiece.\u00a0 It\u2019s why you\u2019re making the observation you\u2019re making, Bob, because it is a bold statement.\u00a0 I don\u2019t really know exactly how tall the statement is\u2014in the middle\u2014that says, \u201cI AM\u201d.\u00a0 It is close to three inches or maybe four inches tall.\u00a0 It\u2019s meant to be the centerpiece, as you fill it in with all these various claims that Christ made about Himself.\u00a0 \n\t\t\t<\/p>\n\t\t\t<p>\n\t\t\t\tI\u2019m just sitting back here, thinking about the Bible.\u00a0 What an interesting book!\u00a0 Written over 2,000 years by dozens of different authors; and here is God, connecting Himself with Moses\u2014introducing Himself as the pre-existent One\u2014One who had no beginning and no end.\u00a0 He\u2019s just:\u00a0 \u201cI AM.\u00a0 I\u2019ve always been here.\u00a0 I always will be.\u00a0 I AM.\u00a0 That\u2019s Who I AM.\u201d\u00a0 \n\t\t\t<\/p>\n\t\t\t<p>\n\t\t\t\t<strong>Barbara:<\/strong>\u00a0 Yes.\n\t\t\t<\/p>\n\t\t\t<p>\n\t\t\t\t<strong>Dennis:<\/strong>\u00a0 And then, Jesus becomes flesh and dwells among us.\u00a0 He fills in the blanks about what the \u201cI AM\u201d really means.\u00a0 You really have a chance here\u2014and you might want to comment on this, Barbara.\u00a0 I know one of your goals is really to introduce your children to Who Jesus Christ is, what He came to do, and what that means to them.\n\t\t\t<\/p>\n\t\t\t<p>\n\t\t\t\t<strong>Barbara:<\/strong>\u00a0 Well, it is; and it is also because I think we, as believers, don\u2019t know how to celebrate Easter.\u00a0 What a great way to celebrate Holy Week.\u00a0 We know it\u2019s important.\u00a0 We know it has great significance, but how can we communicate that significance\u2014the weightiness of what Christ did for us\u2014to our children?\n\t\t\t<\/p>\n\t\t\t<p>\n\t\t\t\tBy having a very short little piece that you read every day, and you talk about one name of Christ, you\u2019re teaching them who Jesus is\u2014you\u2019re teaching them what He came to do.\u00a0 Hopefully, for some families, their kids will receive Christ, as a result of learning about Who Jesus is.\u00a0 They\u2019ll go, \u201cOh, I want to know Him like Moses knew Him and like my parents know Him.\u201d\n\t\t\t<\/p>\n\t\t\t<p>\n\t\t\t\t<strong>Bob:<\/strong>\u00a0 For years, our listeners have heard us talk about the resource that we developed called the Resurrection Eggs.\u00a0 We\u2019ve already mentioned those.\u00a0 You\u2019ve used those.\n\t\t\t<\/p>\n\t\t\t<p>\n\t\t\t\t<strong>Barbara:<\/strong>\u00a0 Yes.\n\t\t\t<\/p>\n\t\t\t<p>\n\t\t\t\t<strong>Bob:<\/strong>\u00a0 Those are primarily aimed at early elementary and below.\n\t\t\t<\/p>\n\t\t\t<p>\n\t\t\t\t<strong>Barbara:<\/strong>\u00a0 Yes.\n\t\t\t<\/p>\n\t\t\t<p>\n\t\t\t\t<strong>Bob:<\/strong>\u00a0 I\u2019m thinking two, to seven, or eight.\n\t\t\t<\/p>\n\t\t\t<p>\n\t\t\t\t<strong>Barbara:<\/strong>\u00a0 Right.\n\t\t\t<\/p>\n\t\t\t<p>\n\t\t\t\t<strong>Bob:<\/strong>\u00a0 This is something that you can use with elementary, junior high, senior high\u2014everybody in the family can get engaged.\n\t\t\t<\/p>\n\t\t\t<p>\n\t\t\t\t<strong>Barbara:<\/strong>\u00a0 Yes.\n\t\t\t<\/p>\n\t\t\t<p>\n\t\t\t\t<strong>Bob:<\/strong>\u00a0 That\u2019s part of the reason why you wanted something like this; right?\n\t\t\t<\/p>\n\t\t\t<p>\n\t\t\t\t<strong>Barbara:<\/strong>\u00a0 Exactly, because Resurrection Eggs are fabulous for preschoolers and early elementary-aged kids; but we haven\u2019t had anything for older elementary kids and teenagers\u2014even adults, for that matter.\u00a0 What I love about this is that Resurrection Eggs are great for little kids; but then, this is something they can graduate to because our knowledge of Christ needs to grow.\n\t\t\t<\/p>\n\t\t\t<p>\n\t\t\t\t<strong>Bob:<\/strong>\u00a0 So, if you had kids at home who were four, and seven, and nine, and thirteen, would you have both resources?\u00a0 How would you use them together?\n\t\t\t<\/p>\n\t\t\t<p>\n\t\t\t\t<strong>Barbara:<\/strong>\u00a0 I think you could easily do both resources. You might want to do something with your four-year-old if your elementary kids feel like they\u2019re too grown up for it, or you may have your elementary kids help lead your four-year-old through Resurrection Eggs, and have them be the ones to kind of help teach and lead.\u00a0 That will engage them and help them be involved.\u00a0 We tested this resource last spring.\u00a0 We had families who did have kids in that age range\u2014the youngest was four, and the oldest was thirteen.\u00a0 Even the four-year-olds, in some of these families, were able to engage in this.\n\t\t\t<\/p>\n\t\t\t<p>\n\t\t\t\tI would say, do Resurrection Eggs with your younger ones; but include your younger ones in doing this resource, too, because in this one, as I\u2019ve done with other resources we\u2019ve created, we have the bold font for younger kids and then the regular font for teenagers and adults.\u00a0 There is a portion that you can read, if you have younger children, that is much shorter and much simpler.\n\t\t\t<\/p>\n\t\t\t<p>\n\t\t\t\t<strong>Dennis:<\/strong>\u00a0 I\u2019ll just add a personal testimony to this.\u00a0 Last Easter, we spent Easter holiday with some of our grandkids.\u00a0 We had this kind of mocked-up.\u00a0 It was nice and warm out on the porch.\u00a0 I had some of my grandkids out there.\u00a0 As I recall, we had some that were three years old, who were sitting there listening to Papa talk about Jesus Christ being the \u201cI AM\u201d.\u00a0 I didn\u2019t finish all eight of the cards because we weren\u2019t together from Palm Sunday all the way to Resurrection Sunday, but we were able to go through several of the cards.\u00a0 In the process, my grandkids began to get the idea: \u201cWho is this Messiah?\u201d \u201cWho is the Light of the World?\u201d \u201cWho is the Door?\u201d \u201c...the Bread of Life?\u201d\u00a0 \n\t\t\t<\/p>\n\t\t\t<p>\n\t\t\t\t<strong>Barbara:<\/strong>\u00a0 Yes.\n\t\t\t<\/p>\n\t\t\t<p>\n\t\t\t\t<strong>Dennis:<\/strong>\u00a0 It\u2019s a great way for parents or grandparents to introduce their kids and grandkids to Who the Savior is.\u00a0 \n\t\t\t<\/p>\n\t\t\t<p>\n\t\t\t\t<strong>Bob:<\/strong>\u00a0 This is the point where I wish that we could build into car dashboards\u2014right above the radio\u2014a little screen so that they could see what we are talking about.\n\t\t\t<\/p>\n\t\t\t<p>\n\t\t\t\t<strong>Barbara:<\/strong>\u00a0 Yes.\n\t\t\t<\/p>\n\t\t\t<p>\n\t\t\t\t<strong>Dennis:<\/strong>\u00a0 Right.\n\t\t\t<\/p>\n\t\t\t<p>\n\t\t\t\t<strong>Bob:<\/strong>\u00a0 Because you really do need to see this wreath to understand it, and appreciate what it\u2019s been made to do, and how it\u2019s been put together.\u00a0 I think folks are going to be really impressed by how elegant it is.\u00a0 You used that word, and I think that\u2019s right.\u00a0 I don\u2019t think there is anybody who would think, \u201cI don\u2019t want that in my home.\u201d\u00a0 I just think it\u2019s been beautifully done.\n\t\t\t<\/p>\n\t\t\t<p>\n\t\t\t\t<strong>Dennis:<\/strong>\u00a0 And the cool thing is, Bob, she has multiple purposes for this wreath because next fall\u2014tell them what\u2019s going to fit in the middle\u2014the \u201cI AM\u201d comes out.\u00a0 What are you going to fit in the middle of the wreath?\n\t\t\t<\/p>\n\t\t\t<p>\n\t\t\t\t<strong>Barbara:<\/strong>\u00a0 Yes, one of the cool things that happened when we were developing this\u2014it was just one of those ways that God was at work\u2014that we didn\u2019t expect.\u00a0 We designed this so that the centerpiece\u2014the \u201cI AM\u201d that\u2019s in the middle\u2014is magnetized, and it comes out.\u00a0 So next fall, we\u2019re going to have another product that\u2019s called \u201cWritten and Remembered\u201d.\u00a0 It focuses on teaching your children \u201cGratitude\u201d for the month of November.\u00a0 It has a centerpiece that, then, is also magnetized.\u00a0 It pops in the back of the wreath.\u00a0 It comes from the verse that says, \u201cForget not His benefits.\u201d\u00a0 The whole idea is to talk about, for the month of November, those things that we are grateful for that we should not forget.\n\t\t\t<\/p>\n\t\t\t<p>\n\t\t\t\t<strong>Bob:<\/strong>\u00a0 And you\u2019ve started toying with ideas for ways this could be used at Christmas or at birthdays\u2014\n\t\t\t<\/p>\n\t\t\t<p>\n\t\t\t\t<strong>Barbara:<\/strong>\u00a0 \u2014Valentine\u2019s, Mother\u2019s Day, Father\u2019s Day.\n\t\t\t<\/p>\n\t\t\t<p>\n\t\t\t\t<strong>Bob:<\/strong>\u00a0 Yes!\n\t\t\t<\/p>\n\t\t\t<p>\n\t\t\t\t<strong>Dennis:<\/strong>\u00a0 I\u2019ve got a feeling this wreath is going to be in a lot of homes!\n\t\t\t<\/p>\n\t\t\t<p>\n\t\t\t\t<strong>Barbara:<\/strong>\u00a0 It\u2019s a worthy investment.\u00a0 You\u2019re not just buying this for Easter.\u00a0 You will be able to use it for lots of to 10, if Christmas, in our culture, is a 10, what number would you give to Easter?\u00a0 For that matter, as Christians, if we celebrate Christmas at a 10, what number would you give to Christians for how we celebrate Easter?\u00a0 Here\u2019s Barbara Rainey.\n\t\t\t<\/p>\n\t\t\t<p>\n\t\t\t\t<strong>Barbara:<\/strong>\u00a0 We do bunnies and we do Easter egg hunts\u2014and there\u2019s nothing wrong with Easter egg hunts\u2014but we just don\u2019t do very much.\u00a0 I feel like it\u2019s a big gap\u2014it\u2019s a big hole in our Christian calendar.\u00a0 Quite honestly, we should be celebrating the Resurrection like we celebrate Super Bowl Sunday.\u00a0 We should have stadiums; and people should be on their feet, with their hands lifted, cheering over the miracle of the Resurrection!\n\t\t\t<\/p>\n\t\t\t<p>\n\t\t\t\t<strong>Bob:<\/strong>\u00a0 This is <em>FamilyLife Today<\/em> for Monday, February 18<sup>th<\/sup>.\u00a0 Our host is the President of FamilyLife<sup>\u00ae<\/sup>, Dennis Rainey, and I'm Bob Lepine.\u00a0 We\u2019re going to talk about some ways that families can heighten the importance of Easter during the Lenten season this year\u2014ways that you can get ready for a more glorious Resurrection celebration.\u00a0\u00a0 Stay tuned.\n\t\t\t<\/p>\n\t\t\t<p>\n\t\t\t\tAnd welcome to <em>FamilyLife Today<\/em>.\u00a0 Thanks for joining us.\u00a0 Do you have a little room at the house that\u2019s kind of your room for projects you\u2019re working on\u2014you know, a little shop room or something, where\u2014?\n\t\t\t<\/p>\n\t\t\t<p>\n\t\t\t\t<strong>Dennis:<\/strong>\u00a0 I used to.\n\t\t\t<\/p>\n\t\t\t<p>\n\t\t\t\t<strong>Bob:<\/strong>\u00a0 Did you?\n\t\t\t<\/p>\n\t\t\t<p>\n\t\t\t\t<strong>Dennis:<\/strong>\u00a0 Yes, but Barbara overtook it with all of her projects.\u00a0 [Laughter]\n\t\t\t<\/p>\n\t\t\t<p>\n\t\t\t\t<strong>Bob:<\/strong>\u00a0 That\u2019s what I was wondering.\u00a0 I keep seeing Barbara show up here with, \u201cLook at this thing I\u2019ve been working on here.\u201d\u00a0 I\u2019m thinking, \u201cYour house must just be\u2014\u201d\u00a0 [Laughter]\n\t\t\t<\/p>\n\t\t\t<p>\n\t\t\t\t<strong>Dennis:<\/strong>\u00a0 We had a playroom at one time, Bob\u2014that we had a ping pong table in there and\u2014 \n\t\t\t<\/p>\n\t\t\t<p>\n\t\t\t\t<strong>Barbara:<\/strong>\u00a0 \u2014a foosball machine.\n\t\t\t<\/p>\n\t\t\t<p>\n\t\t\t\t<strong>Dennis:<\/strong> \u2014and a cheap foosball machine we bought at a garage sale, but those are long-gone.\u00a0 There\u2019s no room for them!\n\t\t\t<\/p>\n\t\t\t<p>\n\t\t\t\t<strong>Bob:<\/strong>\u00a0 Completely covered by Barbara Rainey. \n\t\t\t<\/p>\n\t\t\t<p>\n\t\t\t\t<strong>Dennis:<\/strong>\u00a0 I have never seen my wife work harder on anything, other than being a mom and a wife, than what I have seen in the last two years.\u00a0 She has been going flat-out!\n\t\t\t<\/p>\n\t\t\t<p>\n\t\t\t\t<strong>Bob:<\/strong>\u00a0 And, by the way, welcome back to <em>FamilyLife Today.<\/em>\n\t\t\t<\/p>\n\t\t\t<p>\n\t\t\t\t<em>\u00a0<\/em>\n\t\t\t<\/p>\n\t\t\t<p>\n\t\t\t\t<strong>Barbara:<\/strong>\u00a0 Thanks, Bob.\n\t\t\t<\/p>\n\t\t\t<p>\n\t\t\t\t<strong>Bob:<\/strong>\u00a0 What has gotten into you?\n\t\t\t<\/p>\n\t\t\t<p>\n\t\t\t\t<strong>Barbara:<\/strong>\u00a0 Well, I\u2019ve had some ideas; and I finally have the freedom, in the empty nest years, to be able to see if they work.\u00a0 As of today, we know that they work because the \u201cAdorenaments\u201d<sup>\u00ae<\/sup> were the first test.\u00a0 The \u201cAdorenaments\u201d were wildly successful in Christmas of 2012.\n\t\t\t<\/p>\n\t\t\t<p>\n\t\t\t\t<strong>Bob:<\/strong>\u00a0 These were the Christmas tree ornaments, that you designed, with names of Jesus\u2014that we ordered a bunch and\u2014\n\t\t\t<\/p>\n\t\t\t<p>\n\t\t\t\t<strong>Dennis:<\/strong>\u00a0 \u2014sold out.\n\t\t\t<\/p>\n\t\t\t<p>\n\t\t\t\t<strong>Bob and Barbara:<\/strong><strong>\u00a0 <\/strong>We should have ordered more! [Laughter]\n\t\t\t<\/p>\n\t\t\t<p>\n\t\t\t\t<strong>Dennis:<\/strong>\u00a0 You know, I have to tell a funny story because a friend of mine had just visited Colorado Springs.\u00a0 Evidently, they were calling Dr. Dobson and <em>Focus on the Family<\/em><sup>\u00ae<\/sup>, ordering \u201cAdorenaments\u201d.\u00a0 They didn\u2019t have any because Barbara had created them and only FamilyLife had them, but it was really funny that other ministries were getting phone calls for \u201cAdorenaments\u201d.\n\t\t\t<\/p>\n\t\t\t<p>\n\t\t\t\t<strong>Bob:<\/strong>\u00a0 And, then, we\u2019ve got a lot of families, right now, who are going through this new resource you\u2019ve created for the Lenten season called \u201cThe Messiah Mystery\u201d<sup>\u2122<\/sup>.\n\t\t\t<\/p>\n\t\t\t<p>\n\t\t\t\t<strong>Barbara:<\/strong>\u00a0 Yes, that\u2019s right.\n\t\t\t<\/p>\n\t\t\t<p>\n\t\t\t\t<strong>Bob:<\/strong>\u00a0 It\u2019s a devotional that families can go through that show them the Old Testament clues about the Messiah.\u00a0 It\u2019s a lot of fun, and we\u2019re hearing back from folks who are using that.\u00a0 That\u2019s exciting; and now, you show up today\u2014and you\u2019ve got something new you\u2019ve been working on.\n\t\t\t<\/p>\n\t\t\t<p>\n\t\t\t\t<strong>Barbara:<\/strong>\u00a0 Well, we have to celebrate Easter.\u00a0 Without Easter, we have nothing.\n\t\t\t<\/p>\n\t\t\t<p>\n\t\t\t\t<strong>Bob:<\/strong>\u00a0 Right.\n\t\t\t<\/p>\n\t\t\t<p>\n\t\t\t\t<strong>Barbara:<\/strong>\u00a0 So, the whole purpose of Lent is to prepare our hearts to celebrate the resurrection of Jesus Christ.\u00a0 What we have\u2014after you finish your Lenten experience\u2014\u201cThe Messiah Mystery\u201d with your family\u2014then, you spend Holy Week preparing for Easter Sunday\u2014for Resurrection Sunday.\u00a0 This resource, that I\u2019m really excited about, is talking about what Jesus went through His last week of life.\u00a0 It also is helping your children and we, as parents, too, learn about what Jesus said about Himself.\u00a0 \n\t\t\t<\/p>\n\t\t\t<p>\n\t\t\t\tIn the book of John, Jesus makes all of His \u201cI AM\u201d statements that He made while He was on earth.\u00a0 They\u2019re all in that one book:\u00a0 \u201cI am the Bread of Life,\u201d \u201cI am the Light of the World,\u201d \u201cI am the True Vine,\u201d \u201cI am the Good Shepherd,\u201d and so on.\u00a0 I thought: \u201cWow!\u00a0 That would be a great way to talk about what Jesus did and why He came and Who He is in a very simple way and take children\u2014and parents, for that matter, because this is as much for parents as it is for kids\u2014but to take the family through those statements that He made about Himself\u2014that tell us clues about Who He is and what He came to do.\u201d\n\t\t\t<\/p>\n\t\t\t<p>\n\t\t\t\t<strong>Dennis:<\/strong>\u00a0 Barbara, you pound the table, uniquely, about Easter.\u00a0 You really feel like it\u2019s an important holiday for followers of Christ to celebrate the truth about the life, death, burial, and resurrection of Jesus Christ.\n\t\t\t<\/p>\n\t\t\t<p>\n\t\t\t\t<strong>Barbara:<\/strong>\u00a0 Yes, I do.\u00a0 It\u2019s been interesting, as I\u2019ve thought about it, that we spend so much time, and so much money, and so much effort celebrating Christmas.\u00a0 Christmas is worthy of our great celebrations.\u00a0 But, by comparison, we spend very little time, very little money, very little energy, very little effort preparing for and celebrating Easter.\n\t\t\t<\/p>\n\t\t\t<p>\n\t\t\t\tSo often, it\u2019s just a little bit grander a church service, perhaps; and then, you go home and same-old, same-old.\u00a0 Maybe, you wear new clothes; but other than that, what do we do?\u00a0 There\u2019s very little available to help us, as families, know how to truly celebrate the miraculous event that the Resurrection is.\u00a0 I wanted to do that when we were raising our kids, but I couldn\u2019t find anything.\u00a0 I couldn\u2019t figure out how I could help my kids understand the grandeur.\u00a0 I mean, quite honestly, we should be celebrating the Resurrection like we celebrate Super Bowl Sunday.\u00a0 We should have stadiums; and people should be on their feet, with their hands lifted, cheering over the miracle of the Resurrection!\n\t\t\t<\/p>\n\t\t\t<p>\n\t\t\t\t<strong>Dennis:<\/strong>\u00a0 Yes, yes.\n\t\t\t<\/p>\n\t\t\t<p>\n\t\t\t\t<strong>Barbara:<\/strong>\u00a0 But we do bunnies and we do Easter egg hunts\u2014and there\u2019s nothing wrong with Easter egg hunts because we have \u201cRez Eggs\u201d.\u00a0 [Laughter]\n\t\t\t<\/p>\n\t\t\t<p>\n\t\t\t\t<strong>Bob:<\/strong>\u00a0 Especially\u2014I was going to say, \u201c\u2014especially, if you use Resurrection Eggs<sup>\u00ae<\/sup>!\u201d\n\t\t\t<\/p>\n\t\t\t<p>\n\t\t\t\t<strong>Barbara:<\/strong>\u00a0 And Rez Eggs are wonderful\u2014I\u2019m all for \u201cRez Eggs\u201d \u2014but we just <em>don\u2019t<\/em> do very much.\u00a0 I feel like it\u2019s a big gap\u2014it\u2019s a big hole in our Christian calendar and the events that we celebrate, as families.\u00a0 I think there\u2019s so much more that can be done to help families\u2014and parents, too\u2014celebrate the Resurrection.\n\t\t\t<\/p>\n\t\t\t<p>\n\t\t\t\t<strong>Bob:<\/strong>\u00a0 Okay, so most of the time\u2014if somebody was meditating on particular passages of Scripture\u2014like the \u201cI AM\u201d statements from John\u2019s Gospel that you mentioned\u2014and they said, \u201cWe\u2019re going to make an effort to focus on this during Holy Week,\u201d\u2014then, they might write some blog posts or sit down and share a devotional around that.\u00a0 But you kind of used that as a starting point to create something that is going to be a focal point, in your home, during that time of year.\n\t\t\t<\/p>\n\t\t\t<p>\n\t\t\t\t<strong>Barbara:<\/strong>\u00a0 Yes.\n\t\t\t<\/p>\n\t\t\t<p>\n\t\t\t\t<strong>Bob:<\/strong>\u00a0 So explain why you don\u2019t just write out some blog posts.\n\t\t\t<\/p>\n\t\t\t<p>\n\t\t\t\t<strong>Barbara:<\/strong>\u00a0 Write a book?\n\t\t\t<\/p>\n\t\t\t<p>\n\t\t\t\t<strong>Bob:<\/strong>\u00a0 Yes, write a book.\n\t\t\t<\/p>\n\t\t\t<p>\n\t\t\t\t<strong>Barbara:<\/strong>\u00a0 I think because there\u2019s a real important principle for us, as believers; and that\u2019s for us to proclaim our faith.\u00a0 We don\u2019t just proclaim our faith \u201cout there\u201d to strangers.\u00a0 We need to proclaim our faith to our children.\u00a0 We need to proclaim our faith in our homes.\u00a0 People come by our homes\u2014people see what we do at home.\u00a0 If it\u2019s just in a book, it\u2019s somewhat hidden.\u00a0 I think it\u2019s a great opportunity for us to teach our kids truth but also have a way to display that truth that we\u2019re teaching them.\n\t\t\t<\/p>\n\t\t\t<p>\n\t\t\t\tPlus, when you\u2019re working with kids, the more interactive a resource can be\u2014it\u2019s not just them listening passively\u2014the more they\u2019re going to get it.\u00a0 So, the resource that I\u2019ve created\u2014that we\u2019re talking about today\u2014\u201cBehold the Lamb\u201d\u2014 it has good material to read to your kids, but there\u2019s an activity.\u00a0 You take the card, and you put it on a wreath.\u00a0 The wreath is displayed in your home so that, throughout the whole week of Easter, that\u2019s the focal point\u2014not bunnies, not brightly-colored eggs, or whatever you might have as your celebration for Easter.\u00a0 There is something in your home that is declaring what is most important for you, and for your family, during Easter week.\n\t\t\t<\/p>\n\t\t\t<p>\n\t\t\t\t<strong>Bob:<\/strong>\u00a0 This is the first time I\u2019ve ever heard of an Easter wreath.\u00a0 I mean, I\u2019ve heard of Christmas wreaths\u2014although, I guess wreaths are kind of popping up\u2014all the time, everywhere, anymore\u2014aren\u2019t they?\n\t\t\t<\/p>\n\t\t\t<p>\n\t\t\t\t<strong>Barbara:<\/strong>\u00a0 Yes.\u00a0 Everybody knows what a wreath is.\u00a0 Initially, what I wanted to do was to create something that we can put on our front door because I want something on my front door that declares that, \u201cI\u2019m a believer,\u201d\u2014during Easter week.\u00a0 And I want anybody who comes by to know that\u2019s what I believe.\u00a0 So, initially, I wanted to do a wreath that would hang outside.\u00a0 This one is not\u2014although it could be because it\u2019s not going to be damaged by weather\u2014but it\u2019s really not meant to be used outside.\u00a0 \n\t\t\t<\/p>\n\t\t\t<p>\n\t\t\t\t<strong>Bob:<\/strong>\u00a0 Explain what it looks like.\u00a0 As you said, it could be attached to a nail on the front door.\u00a0 \n\t\t\t<\/p>\n\t\t\t<p>\n\t\t\t\t<strong>Barbara:<\/strong>\u00a0 Yes.\n\t\t\t<\/p>\n\t\t\t<p>\n\t\t\t\t<strong>Bob:<\/strong>\u00a0 Is this kind of a wrought iron?\u00a0 Is that what you\u2019d call it?\n\t\t\t<\/p>\n\t\t\t<p>\n\t\t\t\t<strong>Barbara:<\/strong>\u00a0 It\u2019s metal.\n\t\t\t<\/p>\n\t\t\t<p>\n\t\t\t\t<strong>Bob:<\/strong>\u00a0 Okay.\n\t\t\t<\/p>\n\t\t\t<p>\n\t\t\t\t<strong>Barbara:<\/strong>\u00a0 So it\u2019s not breakable.\u00a0 I\u2019m really big on creating things that kids can use that they\u2019re not afraid\u2014parents aren\u2019t afraid they\u2019re going to break\u2014kids aren\u2019t worried about breaking them.\u00a0 It\u2019s metal.\u00a0 To describe it\u2014I think a lot of women listening will understand what I mean\u2014it\u2019s like a card holder.\u00a0 The wreath, itself, is a series of circles that go all of the way around; but the circles are tightly-connected.\n\t\t\t<\/p>\n\t\t\t<p>\n\t\t\t\t<strong>Bob:<\/strong> Okay.\n\t\t\t<\/p>\n\t\t\t<p>\n\t\t\t\t<strong>Barbara:<\/strong>\u00a0 For instance, I\u2019ve seen wreaths similar to this\u2014or I\u2019ve seen this kind of a design in other shapes\u2014not necessarily a wreath shape.\u00a0 You can buy them to put photographs in, or to put birthday cards in, or to put your Christmas cards in.\u00a0 It\u2019s the same concept.\u00a0 It\u2019s a \u201cpaper holder\u201d for lack of a better word because the concentric rings will hold a sheet of paper, will hold a photograph, will hold a card.\n\t\t\t<\/p>\n\t\t\t<p>\n\t\t\t\t<strong>Bob:<\/strong>\u00a0 But your idea is not to put photographs or Easter cards in.\n\t\t\t<\/p>\n\t\t\t<p>\n\t\t\t\t<strong>Barbara:<\/strong>\u00a0 Correct.\n\t\t\t<\/p>\n\t\t\t<p>\n\t\t\t\t<strong>Bob:<\/strong>\u00a0 You\u2019ve created something that goes in the card holders.\n\t\t\t<\/p>\n\t\t\t<p>\n\t\t\t\t<strong>Barbara:<\/strong>\u00a0 Exactly.\u00a0 The wreath has a stand that you can put on your table, on your counter, or you can take the stand off and\u2014there\u2019s a hook\u2014you can hang it on your wall.\u00a0 The wreath also comes with a centerpiece.\u00a0 The centerpiece is really important for this \u201cBehold the Lamb\u201d product because it says in the center of the wreath, \u201cI AM\u201d.\u00a0 On the top of the \u201cI AM\u201d, there is a lamb.\n\t\t\t<\/p>\n\t\t\t<p>\n\t\t\t\t<strong>Bob:<\/strong>\u00a0 Yes.\n\t\t\t<\/p>\n\t\t\t<p>\n\t\t\t\t<strong>Barbara:<\/strong>\u00a0 That\u2019s a really important starting place for talking about what Jesus declared to us in all of his \u201cI AM\u201d statements.\n\t\t\t<\/p>\n\t\t\t<p>\n\t\t\t\t<strong>Dennis:<\/strong>\u00a0 Yes.\u00a0 Let\u2019s just talk about this for a moment because the first card that you pull out of a burlap pouch\u2014that is entitled \u201cBehold the Lamb.\u201d\u00a0 You\u2019ve got\u2014it looks like about eight cards, in addition to this introductory card.\n\t\t\t<\/p>\n\t\t\t<p>\n\t\t\t\t<strong>Barbara:<\/strong>\u00a0 That\u2019s right.\n\t\t\t<\/p>\n\t\t\t<p>\n\t\t\t\t<strong>Dennis:<\/strong>\u00a0 You\u2019ve ask the question:\u00a0 \u201cWho is \u2018I AM\u2019?\u201d\u00a0 What this is meant to do is explain to you, or explain to your kids, what the origins are of God introducing Himself by saying, \u201cI AM.\u201d\u00a0 Explain what you\u2019ve written about here.\n\t\t\t<\/p>\n\t\t\t<p>\n\t\t\t\t<strong>Barbara:<\/strong>\u00a0 Well, in the Old Testament, there\u2019s the story that many of our listeners will recognize\u2014of Moses, when he encountered God in the burning bush.\u00a0 As the story goes, in Exodus, God began speaking to Moses.\u00a0 After they had this little conversation, Moses said, \u201cWhat is your name?\u201d\u00a0 If you think about it, when you first meet someone, what is one of the first things that you ask?\u00a0 \u201cWhat is your name?\u201d\u00a0 God was speaking to Moses; and Moses, logically, wanted to know, \u201cWhat is your name?\u201d\n\t\t\t<\/p>\n\t\t\t<p>\n\t\t\t\t<strong>Bob:<\/strong>\u00a0 Yes, \u201cWhat do I call You?\u00a0 Who are You?\u201d\n\t\t\t<\/p>\n\t\t\t<p>\n\t\t\t\t<strong>Barbara:<\/strong>\u00a0 Yes.\u00a0 \u201cWho are You?\u00a0 How do I address You?\u201d\u00a0 We all address one another by our names.\u00a0 The answer that God gave him is, \u201cI AM\u201d.\u00a0 Then, the dialogue continued; but God identified Himself, first, to Moses by the name, \u201cI AM\u201d\u2014which is an interesting name.\u00a0 There\u2019s a lot that we could talk about why God called Himself \u201cI AM\u201d; but the link to Easter is that Jesus identified Himself with that name when He was on earth by saying, \u201cI AM.\u201d\u00a0 He said, \u201cI am the Messiah,\u201d \u201cI am the Bread of Life,\u201d \u201cI am the Light of the World.\u201d\u00a0 He made other \u201cI AM\u201d statements about Who He was that further explained to His listeners, and to us, what the concept of God as \u201cI AM\u201d means, practically, to us.\n\t\t\t<\/p>\n\t\t\t<p>\n\t\t\t\t<strong>Bob:<\/strong>\u00a0 Have you tried to connect theses specific \u201cI AM\u201d statements to the events that took place during Holy Week\u2014the triumphal entry, and the overturning of the money-changers in the temple, and all of that going on?\n\t\t\t<\/p>\n\t\t\t<p>\n\t\t\t\t<strong>Barbara:<\/strong>\u00a0 Yes.\u00a0 It isn\u2019t exactly perfect, but we\u2019ve taken the \u201cI AM\u201d statements and followed them through chronologically, as much as we can.\u00a0 In these cards, the idea is that you read together about what the \u201cI AM\u201d statement means.\u00a0 Then, you will begin with the very first card, which is for Palm Sunday.\u00a0 You\u2019ll pull the card out for Palm Sunday.\u00a0 The first statement is the story in John 4 when Jesus said to the woman at the well, \u201cI am the Messiah.\u201d\n\t\t\t<\/p>\n\t\t\t<p>\n\t\t\t\tYou read about what that meant and why Jesus said that; but there\u2019s also an additional story, on this card, that talks about what Jesus did on Palm Sunday\u2014about His triumphal entry, and why He came on a donkey, and what that meant.\u00a0 So, as you read about His statement that He made about Himself, you\u2019re also learning about Palm Sunday, and the significance of that day, and the significance of what He did on that day.\n\t\t\t<\/p>\n\t\t\t<p>\n\t\t\t\t<strong>Bob:<\/strong>\u00a0 So once you read the card to your family, as a devotional, then, you attach the card on the wreath?\n\t\t\t<\/p>\n\t\t\t<p>\n\t\t\t\t<strong>Barbara:<\/strong>\u00a0 There are some questions that you can interact on, as a family.\n\t\t\t<\/p>\n\t\t\t<p>\n\t\t\t\t<strong>Bob:<\/strong>\u00a0 Okay.\n\t\t\t<\/p>\n\t\t\t<p>\n\t\t\t\t<strong>Barbara:<\/strong>\u00a0 After you finish it, then, you know, have one of the kids take it and stick it on the wreath.\u00a0 As the week progresses, the wreath gradually fills up with cards.\u00a0 Each one\u2014on the front of the card\u2014has a statement that Jesus made about Himself:\u00a0 \u201cI am the Messiah,\u201d \u201cI am the Bread of Life,\u201d etc.\n\t\t\t<\/p>\n\t\t\t<p>\n\t\t\t\t<strong>Bob:<\/strong>\u00a0 This is the first time I\u2019ve seen a wreath like this\u2014with a wreath stand like you\u2019ve got.\u00a0 Is that common?\u00a0 I mean, have you seen a lot of these?\n\t\t\t<\/p>\n\t\t\t<p>\n\t\t\t\t<strong>Barbara:<\/strong>\u00a0 I think most wreaths are hung on doors, or on walls, or on fireplaces; but I have seen a few\u2014not many, though.\n\t\t\t<\/p>\n\t\t\t<p>\n\t\t\t\t<strong>Bob:<\/strong>\u00a0 I really like it.\u00a0 It is a cool tabletop\u2014I think, sometimes, \u201cDo you really want to put a nail in the wall and then have to\u2014?\u201d\n\t\t\t<\/p>\n\t\t\t<p>\n\t\t\t\t<strong>Barbara:<\/strong>\u00a0 You don\u2019t always!\n\t\t\t<\/p>\n\t\t\t<p>\n\t\t\t\t<strong>Bob:<\/strong>\u00a0 But here, you can put it on top of an end table or a dining room table.\n\t\t\t<\/p>\n\t\t\t<p>\n\t\t\t\t<strong>Dennis:<\/strong>\u00a0 Yes, and it\u2019s elegant.\u00a0 It\u2019s really beautiful.\u00a0 Of course, that doesn\u2019t surprise me\u2014that\u2019s what Barbara likes to create\u2014something beautiful.\u00a0 It is 30 inches\u2014almost 30 inches tall and 16 inches wide.\u00a0 It really is a centerpiece.\u00a0 It\u2019s why you\u2019re making the observation you\u2019re making, Bob, because it is a bold statement.\u00a0 I don\u2019t really know exactly how tall the statement is\u2014in the middle\u2014that says, \u201cI AM\u201d.\u00a0 It is close to three inches or maybe four inches tall.\u00a0 It\u2019s meant to be the centerpiece, as you fill it in with all these various claims that Christ made about Himself.\u00a0 \n\t\t\t<\/p>\n\t\t\t<p>\n\t\t\t\tI\u2019m just sitting back here, thinking about the Bible.\u00a0 What an interesting book!\u00a0 Written over 2,000 years by dozens of different authors; and here is God, connecting Himself with Moses\u2014introducing Himself as the pre-existent One\u2014One who had no beginning and no end.\u00a0 He\u2019s just:\u00a0 \u201cI AM.\u00a0 I\u2019ve always been here.\u00a0 I always will be.\u00a0 I AM.\u00a0 That\u2019s Who I AM.\u201d\u00a0 \n\t\t\t<\/p>\n\t\t\t<p>\n\t\t\t\t<strong>Barbara:<\/strong>\u00a0 Yes.\n\t\t\t<\/p>\n\t\t\t<p>\n\t\t\t\t<strong>Dennis:<\/strong>\u00a0 And then, Jesus becomes flesh and dwells among us.\u00a0 He fills in the blanks about what the \u201cI AM\u201d really means.\u00a0 You really have a chance here\u2014and you might want to comment on this, Barbara.\u00a0 I know one of your goals is really to introduce your children to Who Jesus Christ is, what He came to do, and what that means to them.\n\t\t\t<\/p>\n\t\t\t<p>\n\t\t\t\t<strong>Barbara:<\/strong>\u00a0 Well, it is; and it is also because I think we, as believers, don\u2019t know how to celebrate Easter.\u00a0 What a great way to celebrate Holy Week.\u00a0 We know it\u2019s important.\u00a0 We know it has great significance, but how can we communicate that significance\u2014the weightiness of what Christ did for us\u2014to our children?\n\t\t\t<\/p>\n\t\t\t<p>\n\t\t\t\tBy having a very short little piece that you read every day, and you talk about one name of Christ, you\u2019re teaching them who Jesus is\u2014you\u2019re teaching them what He came to do.\u00a0 Hopefully, for some families, their kids will receive Christ, as a result of learning about Who Jesus is.\u00a0 They\u2019ll go, \u201cOh, I want to know Him like Moses knew Him and like my parents know Him.\u201d\n\t\t\t<\/p>\n\t\t\t<p>\n\t\t\t\t<strong>Bob:<\/strong>\u00a0 For years, our listeners have heard us talk about the resource that we developed called the Resurrection Eggs.\u00a0 We\u2019ve already mentioned those.\u00a0 You\u2019ve used those.\n\t\t\t<\/p>\n\t\t\t<p>\n\t\t\t\t<strong>Barbara:<\/strong>\u00a0 Yes.\n\t\t\t<\/p>\n\t\t\t<p>\n\t\t\t\t<strong>Bob:<\/strong>\u00a0 Those are primarily aimed at early elementary and below.\n\t\t\t<\/p>\n\t\t\t<p>\n\t\t\t\t<strong>Barbara:<\/strong>\u00a0 Yes.\n\t\t\t<\/p>\n\t\t\t<p>\n\t\t\t\t<strong>Bob:<\/strong>\u00a0 I\u2019m thinking two, to seven, or eight.\n\t\t\t<\/p>\n\t\t\t<p>\n\t\t\t\t<strong>Barbara:<\/strong>\u00a0 Right.\n\t\t\t<\/p>\n\t\t\t<p>\n\t\t\t\t<strong>Bob:<\/strong>\u00a0 This is something that you can use with elementary, junior high, senior high\u2014everybody in the family can get engaged.\n\t\t\t<\/p>\n\t\t\t<p>\n\t\t\t\t<strong>Barbara:<\/strong>\u00a0 Yes.\n\t\t\t<\/p>\n\t\t\t<p>\n\t\t\t\t<strong>Bob:<\/strong>\u00a0 That\u2019s part of the reason why you wanted something like this; right?\n\t\t\t<\/p>\n\t\t\t<p>\n\t\t\t\t<strong>Barbara:<\/strong>\u00a0 Exactly, because Resurrection Eggs are fabulous for preschoolers and early elementary-aged kids; but we haven\u2019t had anything for older elementary kids and teenagers\u2014even adults, for that matter.\u00a0 What I love about this is that Resurrection Eggs are great for little kids; but then, this is something they can graduate to because our knowledge of Christ needs to grow.\n\t\t\t<\/p>\n\t\t\t<p>\n\t\t\t\t<strong>Bob:<\/strong>\u00a0 So, if you had kids at home who were four, and seven, and nine, and thirteen, would you have both resources?\u00a0 How would you use them together?\n\t\t\t<\/p>\n\t\t\t<p>\n\t\t\t\t<strong>Barbara:<\/strong>\u00a0 I think you could easily do both resources. You might want to do something with your four-year-old if your elementary kids feel like they\u2019re too grown up for it, or you may have your elementary kids help lead your four-year-old through Resurrection Eggs, and have them be the ones to kind of help teach and lead.\u00a0 That will engage them and help them be involved.\u00a0 We tested this resource last spring.\u00a0 We had families who did have kids in that age range\u2014the youngest was four, and the oldest was thirteen.\u00a0 Even the four-year-olds, in some of these families, were able to engage in this.\n\t\t\t<\/p>\n\t\t\t<p>\n\t\t\t\tI would say, do Resurrection Eggs with your younger ones; but include your younger ones in doing this resource, too, because in this one, as I\u2019ve done with other resources we\u2019ve created, we have the bold font for younger kids and then the regular font for teenagers and adults.\u00a0 There is a portion that you can read, if you have younger children, that is much shorter and much simpler.\n\t\t\t<\/p>\n\t\t\t<p>\n\t\t\t\t<strong>Dennis:<\/strong>\u00a0 I\u2019ll just add a personal testimony to this.\u00a0 Last Easter, we spent Easter holiday with some of our grandkids.\u00a0 We had this kind of mocked-up.\u00a0 It was nice and warm out on the porch.\u00a0 I had some of my grandkids out there.\u00a0 As I recall, we had some that were three years old, who were sitting there listening to Papa talk about Jesus Christ being the \u201cI AM\u201d.\u00a0 I didn\u2019t finish all eight of the cards because we weren\u2019t together from Palm Sunday all the way to Resurrection Sunday, but we were able to go through several of the cards.\u00a0 In the process, my grandkids began to get the idea: \u201cWho is this Messiah?\u201d \u201cWho is the Light of the World?\u201d \u201cWho is the Door?\u201d \u201c...the Bread of Life?\u201d\u00a0 \n\t\t\t<\/p>\n\t\t\t<p>\n\t\t\t\t<strong>Barbara:<\/strong>\u00a0 Yes.\n\t\t\t<\/p>\n\t\t\t<p>\n\t\t\t\t<strong>Dennis:<\/strong>\u00a0 It\u2019s a great way for parents or grandparents to introduce their kids and grandkids to Who the Savior is.\u00a0 \n\t\t\t<\/p>\n\t\t\t<p>\n\t\t\t\t<strong>Bob:<\/strong>\u00a0 This is the point where I wish that we could build into car dashboards\u2014right above the radio\u2014a little screen so that they could see what we are talking about.\n\t\t\t<\/p>\n\t\t\t<p>\n\t\t\t\t<strong>Barbara:<\/strong>\u00a0 Yes.\n\t\t\t<\/p>\n\t\t\t<p>\n\t\t\t\t<strong>Dennis:<\/strong>\u00a0 Right.\n\t\t\t<\/p>\n\t\t\t<p>\n\t\t\t\t<strong>Bob:<\/strong>\u00a0 Because you really do need to see this wreath to understand it, and appreciate what it\u2019s been made to do, and how it\u2019s been put together.\u00a0 I think folks are going to be really impressed by how elegant it is.\u00a0 You used that word, and I think that\u2019s right.\u00a0 I don\u2019t think there is anybody who would think, \u201cI don\u2019t want that in my home.\u201d\u00a0 I just think it\u2019s been beautifully done.\n\t\t\t<\/p>\n\t\t\t<p>\n\t\t\t\t<strong>Dennis:<\/strong>\u00a0 And the cool thing is, Bob, she has multiple purposes for this wreath because next fall\u2014tell them what\u2019s going to fit in the middle\u2014the \u201cI AM\u201d comes out.\u00a0 What are you going to fit in the middle of the wreath?\n\t\t\t<\/p>\n\t\t\t<p>\n\t\t\t\t<strong>Barbara:<\/strong>\u00a0 Yes, one of the cool things that happened when we were developing this\u2014it was just one of those ways that God was at work\u2014that we didn\u2019t expect.\u00a0 We designed this so that the centerpiece\u2014the \u201cI AM\u201d that\u2019s in the middle\u2014is magnetized, and it comes out.\u00a0 So next fall, we\u2019re going to have another product that\u2019s called \u201cWritten and Remembered\u201d.\u00a0 It focuses on teaching your children \u201cGratitude\u201d for the month of November.\u00a0 It has a centerpiece that, then, is also magnetized.\u00a0 It pops in the back of the wreath.\u00a0 It comes from the verse that says, \u201cForget not His benefits.\u201d\u00a0 The whole idea is to talk about, for the month of November, those things that we are grateful for that we should not forget.\n\t\t\t<\/p>\n\t\t\t<p>\n\t\t\t\t<strong>Bob:<\/strong>\u00a0 And you\u2019ve started toying with ideas for ways this could be used at Christmas or at birthdays\u2014\n\t\t\t<\/p>\n\t\t\t<p>\n\t\t\t\t<strong>Barbara:<\/strong>\u00a0 \u2014Valentine\u2019s, Mother\u2019s Day, Father\u2019s Day.\n\t\t\t<\/p>\n\t\t\t<p>\n\t\t\t\t<strong>Bob:<\/strong>\u00a0 Yes!\n\t\t\t<\/p>\n\t\t\t<p>\n\t\t\t\t<strong>Dennis:<\/strong>\u00a0 I\u2019ve got a feeling this wreath is going to be in a lot of homes!\n\t\t\t<\/p>\n\t\t\t<p>\n\t\t\t\t<strong>Barbara:<\/strong>\u00a0 It\u2019s a worthy investment.\u00a0 You\u2019re not just buying this for Easter.\u00a0 You will be able to use it for lots of other things, year-round.\n\t\t\t<\/p>\n\t\t\t<p>\n\t\t\t\t<strong>Bob:<\/strong>\u00a0 Well, I hope folks will go to FamilyLife.com to get a chance to see what it looks like;
