you should be!\u00a0 But you did put this in print in your book, so\u2014 \n\t\t\t<\/p>\n\t\t\t<p>\n\t\t\t\t<strong>Justin:<\/strong>\u00a0 I did; to my chagrin.\n\t\t\t<\/p>\n\t\t\t<p>\n\t\t\t\t<strong>Dennis:<\/strong>\u00a0 We\u2019re about to find out about it.\u00a0 Justin and Trish have been married since 1995.\u00a0 They have three children.\u00a0 They are authors, bloggers, and teachers who live in Nashville.\u00a0 Together, they collaborated their story, called <em>Beyond Ordinary<\/em>.\u00a0 Unfortunately, there are a lot of ordinary marriages out there.\u00a0 You exhort folks to get out of the ordinary to the extraordinary and what God has for individuals.\n\t\t\t<\/p>\n\t\t\t<p>\n\t\t\t\t<strong>Justin:<\/strong>\u00a0 Yes.\n\t\t\t<\/p>\n\t\t\t<p>\n\t\t\t\t<strong>Dennis:<\/strong>\u00a0 Let\u2019s go to when you two met in college.\n\t\t\t<\/p>\n\t\t\t<p>\n\t\t\t\t<strong>Bob:<\/strong>\u00a0 Let Trish tell this story!\n\t\t\t<\/p>\n\t\t\t<p>\n\t\t\t\t<strong>Dennis:<\/strong>\u00a0 Well, I\u2019ve got to set it up, though.\u00a0 The way Justin was told about Trish\u2014his buddy, Kenny, came to him and said, \u201cHave you met the hot chick with the bright red lipstick?\u201d\n\t\t\t<\/p>\n\t\t\t<p>\n\t\t\t\t<strong>Justin:<\/strong>\u00a0 Yes.\n\t\t\t<\/p>\n\t\t\t<p>\n\t\t\t\t<strong>Dennis:<\/strong>\u00a0 Okay.\n\t\t\t<\/p>\n\t\t\t<p>\n\t\t\t\t<strong>Justin:<\/strong>\u00a0 That\u2019s verbatim.\n\t\t\t<\/p>\n\t\t\t<p>\n\t\t\t\t<strong>Dennis:<\/strong>\u00a0 So tell the rest of the story, Trish, and the ultimate pick-up line.\n\t\t\t<\/p>\n\t\t\t<p>\n\t\t\t\t<strong>Trisha:<\/strong>\u00a0 Well, it\u2019s kind of bad because it was also the \u201890s, mind you.\u00a0 The \u201890s didn\u2019t give way to very good hair or lips, then, either.\u00a0 [Laughter]\u00a0 I grew up south of Chicago, where red lips and big hair were the norm.\u00a0 So, when I came to Lincoln Christian College in the small, little town of Lincoln, Illinois, I first met or heard of Justin\u2014he was kind of like the \u201cbig man on campus\u201d.\u00a0 \n\t\t\t<\/p>\n\t\t\t<p>\n\t\t\t\t<strong>Dennis:<\/strong>\u00a0 Got it.\n\t\t\t<\/p>\n\t\t\t<p>\n\t\t\t\t<strong>Trisha:<\/strong>\u00a0 I kind of referred to him as he thought he was Michael Jordan, but I clearly knew he wasn\u2019t Michael Jordan.\n\t\t\t<\/p>\n\t\t\t<p>\n\t\t\t\t<strong>Dennis:<\/strong>\u00a0 Yes; and as we\u2019re about to find out, he was really a big, big man on campus.\n\t\t\t<\/p>\n\t\t\t<p>\n\t\t\t\t<strong>Bob:<\/strong>\u00a0 He thought Michael Jordan was second to him; didn\u2019t he?\n\t\t\t<\/p>\n\t\t\t<p>\n\t\t\t\t<strong>Dennis:<\/strong>\u00a0 Right.\n\t\t\t<\/p>\n\t\t\t<p>\n\t\t\t\t<strong>Trisha:<\/strong>\u00a0 It\u2019s true.\u00a0 It\u2019s true.\u00a0 I think he thought he could sway me with his wonderful words.\u00a0 I\u2019ll let you share your words of endearment.\n\t\t\t<\/p>\n\t\t\t<p>\n\t\t\t\t<strong>Bob:<\/strong>\u00a0 Yes, tell us about meeting the big-hair, red-lipped, hot girl on campus.\n\t\t\t<\/p>\n\t\t\t<p>\n\t\t\t\t<strong>Justin:<\/strong>\u00a0 This three-on-one attack was not in my rider.\u00a0 I don\u2019t know who negotiated this deal, but\u2014 [Laughter]\n\t\t\t<\/p>\n\t\t\t<p>\n\t\t\t\t<strong>Dennis:<\/strong>\u00a0 You\u2019re not the first guest to say that, by the way\u2014\n\t\t\t<\/p>\n\t\t\t<p>\n\t\t\t\t<strong>Bob:<\/strong>\u00a0 \u2014to be ambushed by us.\u00a0 \n\t\t\t<\/p>\n\t\t\t<p>\n\t\t\t\t<strong>Justin:<\/strong>\u00a0 Indeed, my buddy, Kenny, came up to me and said, \u201cMan, have you seen the hot girl from Chicago, with the bright red lipstick?\u201d\u00a0 I said, \u201cI haven\u2019t seen her yet.\u201d\u00a0 Then, just a few hours later, I saw Trish coming out of our chapel.\u00a0 I thought, \u201cMan that has got to be her!\u201d\n\t\t\t<\/p>\n\t\t\t<p>\n\t\t\t\tSo, I approached her\u2014Kenny and I were together.\u00a0 I approached her and introduced myself.\u00a0 I said, \u201cHey, I\u2019m God and this is my son Jesus Christ.\u00a0 I think you should meet us.\u00a0 We\u2019re really worth your time.\u00a0 You should really give us some of your attention.\u201d\n\t\t\t<\/p>\n\t\t\t<p>\n\t\t\t\t<strong>Bob:<\/strong>\u00a0 Justin, Justin, Justin\u2014did you come up with that yourself or did you read that online somewhere?\n\t\t\t<\/p>\n\t\t\t<p>\n\t\t\t\t<strong>Dennis:<\/strong>\u00a0 Was that spontaneous or had you really thought about this?\u00a0 I mean, big man on campus is one thing\u2014\n\t\t\t<\/p>\n\t\t\t<p>\n\t\t\t\t<strong>Bob:<\/strong>\u00a0 Yes, because bro, I\u2019d give you some coaching here and that would not be\u2014the coaching would be, \u201cThinking different.\u201d\u00a0 Thinking, \u201cAre you from Tennessee because you\u2019re the only ten I see?\u201d\u00a0 You know\u2014that kind of thing.\u00a0 [Laughter]\u00a0 That will work!\n\t\t\t<\/p>\n\t\t\t<p>\n\t\t\t\t<strong>Justin:<\/strong>\u00a0 Well, this story wasn\u2019t going to make it into the book at all, but two of our three boys went to basketball camp at our college just last summer.\u00a0 Kenny, my friend, was there and told them the story.\u00a0 I had never told them.\u00a0 We had never shared the story with our boys at all.\n\t\t\t<\/p>\n\t\t\t<p>\n\t\t\t\t<strong>Dennis:<\/strong>\u00a0 It\u2019s part of the legend of the school.\n\t\t\t<\/p>\n\t\t\t<p>\n\t\t\t\t<strong>Justin:<\/strong>\u00a0 Exactly!\u00a0 Yes.\u00a0 \n\t\t\t<\/p>\n\t\t\t<p>\n\t\t\t\t<strong>Trisha:<\/strong>\u00a0 Right.\n\t\t\t<\/p>\n\t\t\t<p>\n\t\t\t\t<strong>Justin:<\/strong>\u00a0 But I had tried to forget it. I don\u2019t know if it was trying to be endearing.\u00a0 I don\u2019t know if it was because we were at a Christian\u2014 \n\t\t\t<\/p>\n\t\t\t<p>\n\t\t\t\t<strong>Trisha:<\/strong>\u00a0 Oh, you thought you were awesome!\u00a0 [Laughter]\u00a0 You really thought it was the best pick-up line!\u00a0 \n\t\t\t<\/p>\n\t\t\t<p>\n\t\t\t\t<strong>Justin:<\/strong>\u00a0 It was definitely original.\n\t\t\t<\/p>\n\t\t\t<p>\n\t\t\t\t<strong>Trisha:<\/strong>\u00a0 And my response\u2014 \n\t\t\t<\/p>\n\t\t\t<p>\n\t\t\t\t<strong>Bob:<\/strong>\u00a0 Yes, what did you think when \u201cGod\u201d introduced himself like this to you?\n\t\t\t<\/p>\n\t\t\t<p>\n\t\t\t\t<strong>Trisha:<\/strong>\u00a0 I looked at him like he had a third eye.\u00a0 I thought, \u201cWhat is wrong with this kid?\u00a0 Does he realize we\u2019re in the middle of the cornfields of Illinois?\u201d\n\t\t\t<\/p>\n\t\t\t<p>\n\t\t\t\t<strong>Justin:<\/strong>\u00a0 It seemed really blasphemous now, but then it just kind of made sense.\n\t\t\t<\/p>\n\t\t\t<p>\n\t\t\t\t<strong>Bob:<\/strong>\u00a0 You were 19 and stupid.\u00a0 That\u2019s why it made sense!\n\t\t\t<\/p>\n\t\t\t<p>\n\t\t\t\t<strong>Dennis:<\/strong>\u00a0 Was this school a Christian school?\n\t\t\t<\/p>\n\t\t\t<p>\n\t\t\t\t<strong>Trisha:<\/strong>\u00a0 It was; it was.\n\t\t\t<\/p>\n\t\t\t<p>\n\t\t\t\t<strong>Dennis:<\/strong>\u00a0 Seriously?\u00a0 So you had all of the issues of\u2014I mean, there would be a lot of people who would hear what you\u2019ve just said and think, \u201cWhoa!\u201d\n\t\t\t<\/p>\n\t\t\t<p>\n\t\t\t\t<strong>Bob:<\/strong>\u00a0 \u201cWhat kind of guy is this?\u201d\n\t\t\t<\/p>\n\t\t\t<p>\n\t\t\t\t<strong>Dennis:<\/strong>\u00a0 Yes.\n\t\t\t<\/p>\n\t\t\t<p>\n\t\t\t\t<strong>Bob:<\/strong>\u00a0 I think we\u2019re learning what kind of guy it is right here.\n\t\t\t<\/p>\n\t\t\t<p>\n\t\t\t\t<strong>Trisha:<\/strong>\u00a0 It\u2019s true!\n\t\t\t<\/p>\n\t\t\t<p>\n\t\t\t\t<strong>Bob:<\/strong>\u00a0 But somehow\u2014even with that introduction\u2014somehow you busted through it.\u00a0 He busted through it\u2014you guys got to know one another.\n\t\t\t<\/p>\n\t\t\t<p>\n\t\t\t\t<strong>Justin:<\/strong>\u00a0 Well, I tried to set her up with Kenny, initially.\u00a0 He really wanted to go out with her.\u00a0 So, I thought this would make a really good impression.\u00a0 It obviously didn\u2019t.\u00a0 What she told me in that conversation was, \u201cHey, I\u2019m not interested.\u00a0 I\u2019ve got a boyfriend back home.\u201d\u00a0 Obviously, at a Christian school, sometimes \u201ca boyfriend back home\u201d just meant you weren\u2019t interested in that particular person.\u00a0 So, I still had some optimism, after talking to Trish for that brief time, that I could convince her to go out with me.\n\t\t\t<\/p>\n\t\t\t<p>\n\t\t\t\t<strong>Dennis:<\/strong>\u00a0 So what did you do?\u00a0 Take him out?\n\t\t\t<\/p>\n\t\t\t<p>\n\t\t\t\t<strong>Justin:<\/strong>\u00a0 I took him out!\u00a0 I said, \u201cHey!\u201d\u00a0 [Laughter]\u00a0 No, it was pretty hopeless from the very beginning; but what happened was\u2014Trisha went out for cheerleading.\u00a0 Our school didn\u2019t really have a big athletic budget, so the cheerleaders traveled with the basketball team to away games.\u00a0 So, we started spending a lot of time together.\u00a0 It sounds very stalker-ish right now, as I\u2019m telling it here\u2014but not just from me pursuing her, and calling her, and asking her out.\u00a0 We began to talk\u2014we began to really develop a friendship. \n\t\t\t<\/p>\n\t\t\t<p>\n\t\t\t\tI had an attraction to her\u2014that she didn\u2019t reciprocate, initially, to me; but as we began to get to know each other and get to know one another\u2019s hearts, she started to open up more about her life.\u00a0 We really began to sense that God was doing something pretty incredible.\u00a0 She went home for Christmas, and we missed each other for the first time.\u00a0 Before, I had just missed her.\u00a0 She began to develop feelings for me, as well.\u00a0 She ended that relationship with the person that she was dating.\u00a0 Then, we started going out mid-January of my junior year of college\u2014Trisha\u2019s freshman year of college.\n\t\t\t<\/p>\n\t\t\t<p>\n\t\t\t\t<strong>Bob:<\/strong>\u00a0 I\u2019m thinking that once you lost the bet, she was like, \u201cOkay, now I\u2019ll go out with you.\u00a0 I just wanted to make sure you lost before I took you out.\u201d\n\t\t\t<\/p>\n\t\t\t<p>\n\t\t\t\t<strong>Justin:<\/strong>\u00a0 And, too, I think the fact that I was still pursuing her, even though it wasn\u2019t a challenge any more.\u00a0 It was really a relationship.\u00a0 It started out, obviously, as infatuation\u2014the way that most relationships start out\u2014as a challenge\u2014but as we began to get to know each other throughout the course of the semester, we had a stronger friendship than anybody I had ever dated before.\n\t\t\t<\/p>\n\t\t\t<p>\n\t\t\t\t<strong>Trisha:<\/strong>\u00a0 And it was the first time, I think, that Justin had a relationship with a girl where dating was off the table.\u00a0 He really was allowing me to see the true Justin\u2014the more of that that I got to see, the more that I secretly thought, \u201cMan, I really like this guy.\u201d\n\t\t\t<\/p>\n\t\t\t<p>\n\t\t\t\t<strong>Dennis:<\/strong>\u00a0 So you dated how long?\n\t\t\t<\/p>\n\t\t\t<p>\n\t\t\t\t<strong>Justin:<\/strong>\u00a0 Well, we dated from January \u2018til July.\u00a0 Then, in July of 1994, I asked Trish to marry me.\u00a0 \n\t\t\t<\/p>\n\t\t\t<p>\n\t\t\t\t<strong>Dennis:<\/strong>\u00a0 How?\n\t\t\t<\/p>\n\t\t\t<p>\n\t\t\t\t<strong>Justin:<\/strong>\u00a0 Well\u2014\n\t\t\t<\/p>\n\t\t\t<p>\n\t\t\t\t<strong>Trisha:<\/strong>\u00a0 Oh, dear!\n\t\t\t<\/p>\n\t\t\t<p>\n\t\t\t\t<strong>Bob:<\/strong>\u00a0 This is the end of your freshman year in college that he says, \u201cWill you marry me?\u201d\n\t\t\t<\/p>\n\t\t\t<p>\n\t\t\t\t<strong>Trisha:<\/strong>\u00a0 Yes, it is.\n\t\t\t<\/p>\n\t\t\t<p>\n\t\t\t\t<strong>Justin:<\/strong>\u00a0 Yes.\u00a0 Well, I had planned on waiting until the end of the summer, actually; but Trisha came home with me for a weekend in July.\u00a0 She came down from Chicago and spent a weekend with my family in Indiana.\u00a0 My mom introduced her at church that morning really oddly.\u00a0 She said, \u201cThis is Justin\u2019s future fianc\u00e9.\u201d\n\t\t\t<\/p>\n\t\t\t<p>\n\t\t\t\tWe had been looking at rings, and talking about it, and I think we\u2019d even talked to my family a little bit about it that weekend; but it was more of a hypothetical thing than anything else.\u00a0 I was working at a church at the time.\u00a0 I went back to the church that I was working at during the week.\u00a0 Trisha went home.\u00a0 I just couldn\u2019t get it out of my mind.\u00a0 So, I drove three hours from where I was staying to Chicago and rented a limousine.\u00a0 I went to pick Trisha up at the day camp where she was working.\u00a0 I had called ahead of time\u2014and got her boss to kind of\u2014go into a little bit of the plan with me.\u00a0 He was going to keep her in his office until I could pull up into the parking lot.\u00a0 I bought two dozen roses.\n\t\t\t<\/p>\n\t\t\t<p>\n\t\t\t\t<strong>Dennis:<\/strong>\u00a0 She was pretty impressed because she\u2019s smiling right now!\n\t\t\t<\/p>\n\t\t\t<p>\n\t\t\t\t<strong>Trisha:<\/strong>\u00a0 Well, what Justin didn\u2019t know is I worked as a camp counselor at the Christian Youth Center; and that particular day was creek-walking day.\u00a0 I was a counselor for 14 seven- and eight-year-old boys.\u00a0 We had spent the day in the creek.\u00a0 I was full of mud, from head to toe.\u00a0 I had a bathing suit on and dirty clothes over it.\u00a0 I could not have looked more of a mess than I did in that moment.\n\t\t\t<\/p>\n\t\t\t<p>\n\t\t\t\t<strong>Justin:<\/strong>\u00a0 So I show up in a limousine, with roses, and with a suit on.\u00a0 I had just gotten her ring out of layaway at the jewelry store.\u00a0 She comes out and she is completely blown away.\u00a0 Then the nerves started kicking in because, now, Bob, I\u2019m going back to all of the times that I got turned down to go out with her.\u00a0 I\u2019m thinking, \u201cOh, my gosh!\u00a0 I had to ask her out like 50 times before she said, \u2018Yes.\u2019 How is this going to go?!\u201d\n\t\t\t<\/p>\n\t\t\t<p>\n\t\t\t\t<strong>Bob:<\/strong>\u00a0 Right.\n\t\t\t<\/p>\n\t\t\t<p>\n\t\t\t\t<strong>Justin:<\/strong>\u00a0 So, she gets into the limousine; and she quickly realizes what is going on.\u00a0 As the driver is leaving the parking lot, he takes a turn.\u00a0 The roses tip over, and all of the water from the roses spill all over the floor\u2014all over us.\u00a0 I fumbled the ring.\u00a0 I have a cassette tape, cued up to our song that is supposed to be playing\u2014I had put that in before she got in\u2014so our song was playing\u2014but then, all of this commotion starts happening.\u00a0 The roses spill onto the floor.\u00a0 I drop her ring into the water that\u2019s on the floor.\u00a0 I start sweating profusely because it\u2019s July, and I\u2019m really nervous.\u00a0 [Laughter]\n\t\t\t<\/p>\n\t\t\t<p>\n\t\t\t\tSo, I pick the ring up and dry it off, and try to get\u2014by this time, the song that had been playing was on to the next song, which is not a romantic song\u2014it is a fast-paced song.\u00a0 It was a mess; but she said, \u201cYes!\u201d\u00a0 We were engaged from July of 1994, and then we got married in July of 1995.\n\t\t\t<\/p>\n\t\t\t<p>\n\t\t\t\t<strong>Bob:<\/strong>\u00a0 So you had another year together at college?\n\t\t\t<\/p>\n\t\t\t<p>\n\t\t\t\t<strong>Trisha:<\/strong>\u00a0 Right.\n\t\t\t<\/p>\n\t\t\t<p>\n\t\t\t\t<strong>Justin:<\/strong>\u00a0 Yes.\n\t\t\t<\/p>\n\t\t\t<p>\n\t\t\t\t<strong>Bob:<\/strong>\u00a0 Were you still a student after you were married?\n\t\t\t<\/p>\n\t\t\t<p>\n\t\t\t\t<strong>Trisha:<\/strong>\u00a0 Yes, I continued as a student.\u00a0 Trish actually took a year off, then, to save up for our wedding.\u00a0 When we got married, in July 1995, I had a year of school left and she reentered classes at Lincoln, as well, but, then, got pregnant four months after we got married.\u00a0 \n\t\t\t<\/p>\n\t\t\t<p>\n\t\t\t\t<strong>Dennis:<\/strong>\u00a0 Okay, you don\u2019t know this about our broadcast, but for a number of years\u2014it didn\u2019t matter who you were\u2014Chuck Swindoll, R.C. Sproul\u2014we were no respecter of persons.\u00a0 [Laughter]\u00a0 We would ask these Christian leaders for a great honeymoon story because everybody has got a honeymoon story\u2014it seems at least\u2014a honeymoon story that is a showstopper.\u00a0 Was that true of you guys?\n\t\t\t<\/p>\n\t\t\t<p>\n\t\t\t\t<strong>Justin:<\/strong>\u00a0 That is very true.\n\t\t\t<\/p>\n\t\t\t<p>\n\t\t\t\t<strong>Trisha:<\/strong>\u00a0 It\u2019s a show-stopper.\u00a0 I don\u2019t know the kind of show you want to watch, but it was a show-stopper! [Laughter]\n\t\t\t<\/p>\n\t\t\t<p>\n\t\t\t\t<strong>Justin:<\/strong>\u00a0 How long is it?\u00a0 How long is this broadcast?\n\t\t\t<\/p>\n\t\t\t<p>\n\t\t\t\t<strong>Bob:<\/strong>\u00a0 Well, tell the story and we\u2019ll see what we can do.\n\t\t\t<\/p>\n\t\t\t<p>\n\t\t\t\t<strong>Trisha:<\/strong>\u00a0 Well, for both Justin and I, we grew up in lower-middle income families.\u00a0 I left school for a semester to be able to afford to get married.\u00a0 To go on our honeymoon was just an extra bonus.\u00a0 We got married in Chicago the year that\u2014I think, still, to date\u2014was like the worst natural disaster, due to a heat wave.\n\t\t\t<\/p>\n\t\t\t<p>\n\t\t\t\t<strong>Justin:<\/strong>\u00a0 Heat wave.\n\t\t\t<\/p>\n\t\t\t<p>\n\t\t\t\t<strong>Trisha:<\/strong>\u00a0 The heat was so awful, and the church we got married in did not have air conditioning.\u00a0 \n\t\t\t<\/p>\n\t\t\t<p>\n\t\t\t\t<strong>Bob:<\/strong>\u00a0 Ohhhh\u2014\n\t\t\t<\/p>\n\t\t\t<p>\n\t\t\t\t<strong>Trisha:<\/strong>\u00a0 So, I was in a long-sleeved, bedazzled dress, and\u2014\n\t\t\t<\/p>\n\t\t\t<p>\n\t\t\t\t<strong>Bob:<\/strong>\u00a0 Ohhhh\u2014 \n\t\t\t<\/p>\n\t\t\t<p>\n\t\t\t\t<strong>Trisha:<\/strong>\u00a0 \u2014my future husband is in a suit.\u00a0 It started off as kind of a hot mess, in all true forms; but we got through the wedding well.\u00a0 Our reception, thankfully, had air conditioning.\u00a0 Our poor moms were literally taking the cards we had received from our guests and opening them to see if we had enough money to go on our honeymoon.\n\t\t\t<\/p>\n\t\t\t<p>\n\t\t\t\tThankfully, we did.\u00a0 We were excited.\u00a0 I got this ginormous dress!\u00a0 We got to borrow Justin\u2019s family\u2019s first brand-new vehicle that they had ever owned.\u00a0 It was the Astro mini-van.\u00a0 I don\u2019t know if you remember those, where you could turn the wheel\u2014?\n\t\t\t<\/p>\n\t\t\t<p>\n\t\t\t\t<strong>Justin:<\/strong>\u00a0 Not exactly the cool honeymoon cruiser that I had envisioned when I\u2014\n\t\t\t<\/p>\n\t\t\t<p>\n\t\t\t\t<strong>Bob:<\/strong>\u00a0 Not the romantic convertible you were going to drive her away in.\n\t\t\t<\/p>\n\t\t\t<p>\n\t\t\t\t<strong>Justin:<\/strong>\u00a0 Exactly, exactly; but it was great.\n\t\t\t<\/p>\n\t\t\t<p>\n\t\t\t\t<strong>Trisha:<\/strong>\u00a0 So, to take you through the 12 hours in a synopsis:\u00a0 We were in the car for about three hours\u2014ran into an accident\u2014sat for another five\u2014finally, got to our destination in the middle of the night.\u00a0 I was so exhausted\u2014the whole \u201cCarry me through the threshold\u201d\u2014I was like, \u201cJust get me to bed!\u201d\n\t\t\t<\/p>\n\t\t\t<p>\n\t\t\t\t<strong>Justin:<\/strong>\u00a0 It\u2019s like 4:00 in the morning\u2014we finally get to the hotel.\u00a0 Trisha starts crying.\u00a0 I thought, \u201cNothing has happened yet.\u00a0 Why are you crying?\u201d\u00a0 I thought, \u201cYou know, it\u2019s 4:00 in the morning.\u00a0 Maybe she\u2019s just tired.\u201d\u00a0 She\u2019s like, \u201cI can\u2019t believe this is happening, but I need you to go to Walmart<sup>\u00ae<\/sup>.\u201d\u00a0 I said, \u201cRight now?\u201d\u00a0 And she gives me the list of the feminine products that I need to buy because that time of the month had just arrived, the minute we walked into the hotel room.\u00a0 So, she goes and starts a bath.\u00a0 I head to Walmart\u2014, in my tux, still. [Laughter]\n\t\t\t<\/p>\n\t\t\t<p>\n\t\t\t\t<strong>Dennis:<\/strong>\u00a0 Did you carry a sandwich sign reading \u201cJust Married\u201d as you went down the aisle? [Laughter]\n\t\t\t<\/p>\n\t\t\t<p>\n\t\t\t\t<strong>Justin:<\/strong>\u00a0 I come back and she\u2019s asleep.\u00a0 We go to bed that night.\u00a0 We got up, and it was the next day.\n\t\t\t<\/p>\n\t\t\t<p>\n\t\t\t\t<strong>Trisha:<\/strong>\u00a0 You know, God\u2019s Word says His mercies are new every morning, \u201cLet\u2019s just start a new day.\u201d\u00a0 So, we get on the road.\u00a0 Mind you, the heat wave is still in full gear.\u00a0 As we\u2019re driving on the interstate, we notice this hay truck in front of us\u2014\n\t\t\t<\/p>\n\t\t\t<p>\n\t\t\t\t<strong>Justin:<\/strong>\u00a0 We\u2019re in Kentucky\u2014some place in Kentucky.\u00a0 \n\t\t\t<\/p>\n\t\t\t<p>\n\t\t\t\t<strong>Trisha:<\/strong>\u00a0 \u2014starts to lose its hay.\u00a0 We were kind of looking at each other like, \u201cIs this really happening?\u201d\u00a0 Then, all of a sudden, barrels of hay are falling off of the truck.\u00a0 So, of course, we stop and try to help the guy out.\u00a0 As we\u2019re baling hay off of the interstate, hay gets caught underneath his truck and blows the truck to smithereens.\u00a0 It shuts down the interstate.\u00a0 After giving our statement to the police officer, we finally made our second trek to our destination.\u00a0 We did eventually get there\u2014maybe a day late or so\u2014\n\t\t\t<\/p>\n\t\t\t<p>\n\t\t\t\t<strong>Justin:<\/strong>\u00a0 We got there a day late.\n\t\t\t<\/p>\n\t\t\t<p>\n\t\t\t\t<strong>Trisha:<\/strong>\u00a0 \u2014but we were so excited to finally be there, we just threw our stuff down in the little house we were staying in and went to the beach.\u00a0 Mind you, I was 20.\u00a0 Justin was 21.\u00a0 We were just like kids playing on the beach.\u00a0 After about three hours, we kind of got hungry and thought it was time to come in.\u00a0 About a half hour after eating our food, I really started to feel like I had a fever.\n\t\t\t<\/p>\n\t\t\t<p>\n\t\t\t\t<strong>Bob:<\/strong>\u00a0 Maybe a little sunburn happening there?\n\t\t\t<\/p>\n\t\t\t<p>\n\t\t\t\t<strong>Trisha:<\/strong>\u00a0 A little hot.\n\t\t\t<\/p>\n\t\t\t<p>\n\t\t\t\t<strong>Dennis:<\/strong>\u00a0 It\u2019s not the first one of these stories we\u2019ve heard.\u00a0 \n\t\t\t<\/p>\n\t\t\t<p>\n\t\t\t\t<strong>Justin:<\/strong>\u00a0 She wasn\u2019t just a little sunburned.\u00a0 She was blistered, from head-to-toe.\n\t\t\t<\/p>\n\t\t\t<p>\n\t\t\t\t<strong>Trisha:<\/strong>\u00a0 Yes.\n\t\t\t<\/p>\n\t\t\t<p>\n\t\t\t\t<strong>Justin:<\/strong>\u00a0 She had blisters all over her stomach.\n\t\t\t<\/p>\n\t\t\t<p>\n\t\t\t\t<strong>Trisha:<\/strong>\u00a0 Yes.\u00a0 You were on the phone with your dad.\u00a0 You can tell them\u2014it\u2019s okay.\n\t\t\t<\/p>\n\t\t\t<p>\n\t\t\t\t<strong>Justin:<\/strong>\u00a0 That isn\u2019t that.\u00a0 So, \u201cWe\u2019ll just stay in tonight and put some aloe vera on it.\u00a0 You\u2019ll be better tomorrow.\u201d\u00a0 [Laughter]\u00a0 Next day, she\u2019s not any better.\u00a0 So, we go to the movies.\u00a0 We go see a movie.\u00a0 The next day, she\u2019s finally getting a little bit better but not really.\u00a0 We still have not consummated the marriage.\u00a0 I, literally, after three days, I call my dad.\u00a0 I\u2019m like, \u201cWhat am I supposed to do here?\u00a0 I got married for some action and there\u2019s no action going on!\u201d\u00a0 [Laughter]\u00a0 He\u2019s like, \u201cWe\u2019re not even Catholic, but I think you can annul it.\u201d\u00a0 [Laughter]\n\t\t\t<\/p>\n\t\t\t<p>\n\t\t\t\t<strong>Trisha:<\/strong>\u00a0 On our final day, we had all of this money because we couldn\u2019t do anything all week, obviously.\u00a0 I was starting to feel a little bit better, so we decided to get a wave runner.\u00a0 Mind you, my husband is a 21-year-old \u201cman\u201d.\n\t\t\t<\/p>\n\t\t\t<p>\n\t\t\t\t<strong>Justin:<\/strong>\u00a0 Now, wait a minute!\u00a0 Why did you put quotes around that?\u00a0 [Laughter]\n\t\t\t<\/p>\n\t\t\t<p>\n\t\t\t\t<strong>Bob:<\/strong>\u00a0 Because when you give a 21-year-old a wave runner, he reverts.\u00a0 I\u2019m just telling you that I\u2019ve seen it happen!\n\t\t\t<\/p>\n\t\t\t<p>\n\t\t\t\t<strong>Trisha:<\/strong>\u00a0 Thank you.\n\t\t\t<\/p>\n\t\t\t<p>\n\t\t\t\t<strong>Dennis:<\/strong>\u00a0 Here\u2019s my question\u2014a wave runner is not a good place to consummate\u2014 [Laughter] \u2014why would you be thinking of a wave runner?!\u201d\n\t\t\t<\/p>\n\t\t\t<p>\n\t\t\t\t<strong>Justin:<\/strong>\u00a0 The tension around that particular topic had already been exhausted.\u00a0 So, \u201cLet\u2019s just go do something fun because we\u2019ve already argued about that three or four times.\u201d\n\t\t\t<\/p>\n\t\t\t<p>\n\t\t\t\t<strong>Trisha:<\/strong>\u00a0 Yes, yes!\u00a0 So we get on this; and yes, he has a lot of energy.\u00a0 He says something to me.\u00a0 Before I can even respond, we just take off.\u00a0 As we are taking off, there\u2019s like a cove area, before you get out to the open sea.\u00a0 There\u2019s a yacht coming in\u2014like a party yacht with people on it.\u00a0 It was like slow motion.\u00a0 I could see my young husband seeing these enormous waves this yacht was making.\u00a0 He was like, \u201cGame on!\u201d\n\t\t\t<\/p>\n\t\t\t<p>\n\t\t\t\tSo, we were at full throttle; \n\t\t\t<\/p>\n\t\t\t<p>\n\t\t\t\t<strong>Bob:<\/strong>\u00a0 Ohhhh\u2014 \n\t\t\t<\/p>\n\t\t\t<p>\n\t\t\t\t<strong>Trisha:<\/strong>\u00a0 I was in a long-sleeved, bedazzled dress, and\u2014\n\t\t\t<\/p>\n\t\t\t<p>\n\t\t\t\t<strong>Bob:<\/strong>\u00a0 Ohhhh\u2014 \n\t\t\t<\/p>\n\t\t\t<p>\n\t\t\t\t<strong>Trisha:<\/strong>\u00a0 \u2014my future husband was in a suit.\u00a0 So, collaborated their story, called <em>Beyond Ordinary<\/em>.\u00a0 Unfortunately, there are a lot of ordinary marriages out there.\u00a0 You exhort folks to get out of the ordinary to the extraordinary met in college.\n\t\t\t<\/p>\n\t\t\t<p>\n\t\t\t\t<strong>Bob:<\/strong>\u00a0 Let Trish tell this story!\n\t\t\t<\/p>\n\t\t\t<p>\n\t\t\t\t<strong>Dennis:<\/strong>\u00a0 Well, I\u2019ve got to set it up, though.\u00a0 The way Justin was told about Trish\u2014his buddy, Kenny, came to him and said, \u201cHave you met the hot chick with the bright red lipstick?\u201d\n\t\t\t<\/p>\n\t\t\t<p>\n\t\t\t\t<strong>Justin:<\/strong>\u00a0 Yes.\n\t\t\t<\/p>\n\t\t\t<p>\n\t\t\t\t<strong>Dennis:<\/strong>\u00a0 Okay.\n\t\t\t<\/p>\n\t\t\t<p>\n\t\t\t\t<strong>Justin:<\/strong>\u00a0 That\u2019s verbatim.\n\t\t\t<\/p>\n\t\t\t<p>\n\t\t\t\t<strong>Dennis:<\/strong>\u00a0 So tell the rest of the story, Trish, and the ultimate pick-up line.\n\t\t\t<\/p>\n\t\t\t<p>\n\t\t\t\t<strong>Trisha:<\/strong>\u00a0 Well, it\u2019s kind of bad because it was also the \u201890s, mind you.\u00a0 The \u201890s didn\u2019t give way to very good hair or lips, then, either.\u00a0 [Laughter]\u00a0 I grew up south of Chicago, where red lips and big hair were the norm.\u00a0 So, when I came to Lincoln Christian College in the small, little town of Lincoln, Illinois, I first met or heard of Justin\u2014he was kind of like the \u201cbig man on campus\u201d.\u00a0 \n\t\t\t<\/p>\n\t\t\t<p>\n\t\t\t\t<strong>Dennis:<\/strong>\u00a0 Got it.\n\t\t\t<\/p>\n\t\t\t<p>\n\t\t\t\t<strong>Trisha:<\/strong>\u00a0 I kind of referred to him as he thought he was Michael Jordan, but I clearly knew he wasn\u2019t Michael Jordan.\n\t\t\t<\/p>\n\t\t\t<p>\n\t\t\t\t<strong>Dennis:<\/strong>\u00a0 Yes; and as we\u2019re about to find out, he was really a big, big man on campus.\n\t\t\t<\/p>\n\t\t\t<p>\n\t\t\t\t<strong>Bob:<\/strong>\u00a0 He thought Michael Jordan was second to him; didn\u2019t he?\n\t\t\t<\/p>\n\t\t\t<p>\n\t\t\t\t<strong>Dennis:<\/strong>\u00a0 Right.\n\t\t\t<\/p>\n\t\t\t<p>\n\t\t\t\t<strong>Trisha:<\/strong>\u00a0 It\u2019s true.\u00a0 It\u2019s true.\u00a0 I think he thought he could sway me with his wonderful words.\u00a0 I\u2019ll let you share your words of endearment.\n\t\t\t<\/p>\n\t\t\t<p>\n\t\t\t\t<strong>Bob:<\/strong>\u00a0 Yes, tell us about meeting the big-hair, red-lipped, hot girl on campus.\n\t\t\t<\/p>\n\t\t\t<p>\n\t\t\t\t<strong>Justin:<\/strong>\u00a0 This three-on-one attack was not in my rider.\u00a0 I don\u2019t know who negotiated this deal, but\u2014 [Laughter]\n\t\t\t<\/p>\n\t\t\t<p>\n\t\t\t\t<strong>Dennis:<\/strong>\u00a0 You\u2019re not the first guest to say that, by the way\u2014\n\t\t\t<\/p>\n\t\t\t<p>\n\t\t\t\t<strong>Bob:<\/strong>\u00a0 \u2014to be ambushed by us.\u00a0 \n\t\t\t<\/p>\n\t\t\t<p>\n\t\t\t\t<strong>Justin:<\/strong>\u00a0 Indeed, my buddy, Kenny, came up to me and said, \u201cMan, have you seen the hot girl from Chicago, with the bright red lipstick?\u201d\u00a0 I said, \u201cI haven\u2019t seen her yet.\u201d\u00a0 Then, just a few hours later, I saw Trish coming out of our chapel.\u00a0 I thought, \u201cMan that has got to be her!\u201d\n\t\t\t<\/p>\n\t\t\t<p>\n\t\t\t\tSo, I approached her\u2014Kenny and I were together.\u00a0 I approached her and introduced myself.\u00a0 I said, \u201cHey, I\u2019m God and this is my son Jesus Christ.\u00a0 I think you should meet us.\u00a0 We\u2019re really worth your time.\u00a0 You should really give us some of your attention.\u201d\n\t\t\t<\/p>\n\t\t\t<p>\n\t\t\t\t<strong>Bob:<\/strong>\u00a0 Justin, Justin, Justin\u2014did you come up with that yourself or did you read that online somewhere?\n\t\t\t<\/p>\n\t\t\t<p>\n\t\t\t\t<strong>Dennis:<\/strong>\u00a0 Was that spontaneous or had you really thought about this?\u00a0 I mean, big man on campus is one thing\u2014\n\t\t\t<\/p>\n\t\t\t<p>\n\t\t\t\t<strong>Bob:<\/strong>\u00a0 Yes, because bro, I\u2019d give you some coaching here and that would not be\u2014the coaching would be, \u201cThinking college just last summer.\u00a0 Kenny, my friend, was there and told them the story.\u00a0 I had never told them.\u00a0 We had never shared the story with our boys at Yes.\u00a0 \n\t\t\t<\/p>\n\t\t\t<p>\n\t\t\t\t<strong>Trisha:<\/strong>\u00a0 Right.\n\t\t\t<\/p>\n\t\t\t<p>\n\t\t\t\t<strong>Justin:<\/strong>\u00a0 But I had tried to forget it. I don\u2019t know if it was trying to be endearing.\u00a0 I don\u2019t know if it was because we were at a Christian\u2014 \n\t\t\t<\/p>\n\t\t\t<p>\n\t\t\t\t<strong>Trisha:<\/strong>\u00a0 Oh, you thought you were awesome!\u00a0 [Laughter]\u00a0 You really thought it was the best pick-up line!\u00a0 \n\t\t\t<\/p>\n\t\t\t<p>\n\t\t\t\t<strong>Justin:<\/strong>\u00a0 It was definitely original.\n\t\t\t<\/p>\n\t\t\t<p>\n\t\t\t\t<strong>Trisha:<\/strong>\u00a0 And my response\u2014 \n\t\t\t<\/p>\n\t\t\t<p>\n\t\t\t\t<strong>Bob:<\/strong>\u00a0 Yes, what did you think when \u201cGod\u201d introduced himself like this to you?\n\t\t\t<\/p>\n\t\t\t<p>\n\t\t\t\t<strong>Trisha:<\/strong>\u00a0 I looked at him like he had a third eye.\u00a0 I thought, \u201cWhat is wrong with this kid?\u00a0 Does he realize we\u2019re in the middle of the cornfields of Illinois?\u201d\n\t\t\t<\/p>\n\t\t\t<p>\n\t\t\t\t<strong>Justin:<\/strong>\u00a0 It seemed really blasphemous now, but then it just kind of made sense.\n\t\t\t<\/p>\n\t\t\t<p>\n\t\t\t\t<strong>Bob:<\/strong>\u00a0 You were 19 and stupid.\u00a0 That\u2019s why it made sense!\n\t\t\t<\/p>\n\t\t\t<p>\n\t\t\t\t<strong>Dennis:<\/strong>\u00a0 Was this school a Christian school?\n\t\t\t<\/p>\n\t\t\t<p>\n\t\t\t\t<strong>Trisha:<\/strong>\u00a0 It was; it was.\n\t\t\t<\/p>\n\t\t\t<p>\n\t\t\t\t<strong>Dennis:<\/strong>\u00a0 Seriously?\u00a0 So you had all of the issues of\u2014I mean, there would be a lot of people who would hear what you\u2019ve just said and think, \u201cWhoa!\u201d\n\t\t\t<\/p>\n\t\t\t<p>\n\t\t\t\t<strong>Bob:<\/strong>\u00a0 \u201cWhat kind of guy is this?\u201d\n\t\t\t<\/p>\n\t\t\t<p>\n\t\t\t\t<strong>Dennis:<\/strong>\u00a0 Yes.\n\t\t\t<\/p>\n\t\t\t<p>\n\t\t\t\t<strong>Bob:<\/strong>\u00a0 I think we\u2019re learning what kind of guy it is right here.\n\t\t\t<\/p>\n\t\t\t<p>\n\t\t\t\t<strong>Trisha:<\/strong>\u00a0 It\u2019s true!\n\t\t\t<\/p>\n\t\t\t<p>\n\t\t\t\t<strong>Bob:<\/strong>\u00a0 But somehow\u2014even with that introduction\u2014somehow you busted through it.\u00a0 He busted through it\u2014you guys got to know one another.\n\t\t\t<\/p>\n\t\t\t<p>\n\t\t\t\t<strong>Justin:<\/strong>\u00a0 Well, I tried to set her up with Kenny, initially.\u00a0 He really wanted to go out with her.\u00a0 So, I thought this would make a really good impression.\u00a0 It obviously didn\u2019t.\u00a0 What she told me in that conversation was, \u201cHey, I\u2019m not interested.\u00a0 I\u2019ve got a boyfriend back home.\u201d\u00a0 Obviously, at a Christian school, sometimes \u201ca boyfriend back home\u201d just meant you weren\u2019t interested in that particular person.\u00a0 So, I still had some optimism, after talking to Trish for that brief time, that I could convince her to go out with me.\n\t\t\t<\/p>\n\t\t\t<p>\n\t\t\t\t<strong>Dennis:<\/strong>\u00a0 So what did you do?\u00a0 Take him out?\n\t\t\t<\/p>\n\t\t\t<p>\n\t\t\t\t<strong>Justin:<\/strong>\u00a0 I took him out!\u00a0 I said, \u201cHey!\u201d\u00a0 [Laughter]\u00a0 No, it was pretty hopeless from the very beginning; but what happened was\u2014Trisha went out for cheerleading.\u00a0 Our school didn\u2019t really have a big athletic budget, so the cheerleaders traveled with the basketball team to away games.\u00a0 So, we started spending a lot of time together.\u00a0 It sounds very stalker-ish right now, as I\u2019m telling it here\u2014but not just from me pursuing her, and calling her, and asking her out.\u00a0 We began to talk\u2014we began to really develop a friendship. \n\t\t\t<\/p>\n\t\t\t<p>\n\t\t\t\tI had an attraction to her\u2014that she didn\u2019t reciprocate, initially, to me; but as we began to get to know each other and get to know one another\u2019s hearts, she started to open up more about her life.\u00a0 We really began to sense that God was doing something pretty incredible.\u00a0 She went home for Christmas, and we missed each other for the first time.\u00a0 Before, I had just missed her.\u00a0 She began to develop feelings for me, as well.\u00a0 She ended that relationship with the person that she was dating.\u00a0 Then, we started going out mid-January of my junior year of college\u2014Trisha\u2019s freshman year of college.\n\t\t\t<\/p>\n\t\t\t<p>\n\t\t\t\t<strong>Bob:<\/strong>\u00a0 I\u2019m thinking that once you lost the bet, she was like, \u201cOkay, now I\u2019ll go out with you.\u00a0 I just wanted to make sure you lost before I took you out.\u201d\n\t\t\t<\/p>\n\t\t\t<p>\n\t\t\t\t<strong>Justin:<\/strong>\u00a0 And, too, I think the fact that I was still pursuing her, even though it wasn\u2019t a challenge any more.\u00a0 It was really a relationship.\u00a0 It started out, obviously, as infatuation\u2014the way that most relationships start out\u2014as a challenge\u2014but as we began to get to know each other throughout the course of the semester, we had a stronger friendship than anybody I had ever dated before.\n\t\t\t<\/p>\n\t\t\t<p>\n\t\t\t\t<strong>Trisha:<\/strong>\u00a0 And it was the first time, I think, that Justin had a relationship with a girl where dating was off the table.\u00a0 He really was allowing me to see the true Justin\u2014the more of that that I got to see, the more that I secretly thought, \u201cMan, I really like this guy.\u201d\n\t\t\t<\/p>\n\t\t\t<p>\n\t\t\t\t<strong>Dennis:<\/strong>\u00a0 So you dated how long?\n\t\t\t<\/p>\n\t\t\t<p>\n\t\t\t\t<strong>Justin:<\/strong>\u00a0 Well, we dated from January \u2018til July.\u00a0 Then, in July of 1994, I asked Trish to marry me.\u00a0 \n\t\t\t<\/p>\n\t\t\t<p>\n\t\t\t\t<strong>Dennis:<\/strong>\u00a0 How?\n\t\t\t<\/p>\n\t\t\t<p>\n\t\t\t\t<strong>Justin:<\/strong>\u00a0 Well\u2014\n\t\t\t<\/p>\n\t\t\t<p>\n\t\t\t\t<strong>Trisha:<\/strong>\u00a0 Oh, dear!\n\t\t\t<\/p>\n\t\t\t<p>\n\t\t\t\t<strong>Bob:<\/strong>\u00a0 This is the end of your freshman year in college that he says, \u201cWill you marry me?\u201d\n\t\t\t<\/p>\n\t\t\t<p>\n\t\t\t\t<strong>Trisha:<\/strong>\u00a0 Yes, it is.\n\t\t\t<\/p>\n\t\t\t<p>\n\t\t\t\t<strong>Justin:<\/strong>\u00a0 Yes.\u00a0 Well, I had planned on waiting until the end of the summer, actually; but Trisha came home with me for a weekend in July.\u00a0 She came down from Chicago and spent a weekend with my family in Indiana.\u00a0 My mom introduced her at church that morning really oddly.\u00a0 She said, \u201cThis is Justin\u2019s future fianc\u00e9.\u201d\n\t\t\t<\/p>\n\t\t\t<p>\n\t\t\t\tWe had been looking at rings, and talking about it, and I think we\u2019d even talked to my family a little bit about it that weekend; but it was more of a hypothetical thing than anything else.\u00a0 I was working at a church at the time.\u00a0 I went back to the church that I was working at during the week.\u00a0 Trisha went home.\u00a0 I just couldn\u2019t get it out of my mind.\u00a0 So, I drove three hours from where I was staying to Chicago and rented a limousine.\u00a0 I went to pick Trisha up at the day camp where she was working.\u00a0 I had called ahead of time\u2014and got her boss to kind of\u2014go into a little bit of the plan with me.\u00a0 He was going to keep her in his office until I could pull up into the parking lot.\u00a0 I bought two dozen roses.\n\t\t\t<\/p>\n\t\t\t<p>\n\t\t\t\t<strong>Dennis:<\/strong>\u00a0 She was pretty impressed because she\u2019s smiling right now!\n\t\t\t<\/p>\n\t\t\t<p>\n\t\t\t\t<strong>Trisha:<\/strong>\u00a0 Well, what Justin didn\u2019t know is I worked as a camp counselor at the Christian Youth Center; and that particular day was creek-walking day.\u00a0 I was a counselor for 14 seven- and eight-year-old boys.\u00a0 We had spent the day in the creek.\u00a0 I was full of mud, from head to toe.\u00a0 I had a bathing suit on and dirty clothes over it.\u00a0 I could not have looked more of a mess than I did in that moment.\n\t\t\t<\/p>\n\t\t\t<p>\n\t\t\t\t<strong>Justin:<\/strong>\u00a0 So I show up in a limousine, with roses, and with a suit on.\u00a0 I had just gotten her ring out of layaway at the jewelry store.\u00a0 She comes out and she is completely blown away.\u00a0 Then the nerves started kicking in because, now, Bob, I\u2019m going back to all of the times that I got turned down to go out with her.\u00a0 I\u2019m thinking, \u201cOh, my gosh!\u00a0 I had to ask her out like 50 times before she said, \u2018Yes.\u2019 How is this going to go?!\u201d\n\t\t\t<\/p>\n\t\t\t<p>\n\t\t\t\t<strong>Bob:<\/strong>\u00a0 Right.\n\t\t\t<\/p>\n\t\t\t<p>\n\t\t\t\t<strong>Justin:<\/strong>\u00a0 So, she gets into the limousine; and she quickly realizes what is going on.\u00a0 As the driver is leaving the parking lot, he takes a turn.\u00a0 The roses tip over, and all of the water from the roses spill all over the floor\u2014all over us.\u00a0 I fumbled the ring.\u00a0 I have a cassette tape, cued up to our song that is supposed to be playing\u2014I had put that in before she got in\u2014so our song was playing\u2014but then, all of this commotion starts happening.\u00a0 The roses spill onto the floor.\u00a0 I drop her ring into the water that\u2019s on the floor.\u00a0 I start sweating profusely because it\u2019s July, and I\u2019m really nervous.\u00a0 [Laughter]\n\t\t\t<\/p>\n\t\t\t<p>\n\t\t\t\tSo, I pick the ring up and dry it off, and try to get\u2014by this time, the song that had been playing was on to the next song, which is not a romantic song\u2014it is a fast-paced song.\u00a0 It was a mess; but she said, \u201cYes!\u201d\u00a0 We were engaged from July of 1994, and then we got married in July of 1995.\n\t\t\t<\/p>\n\t\t\t<p>\n\t\t\t\t<strong>Bob:<\/strong>\u00a0 So you had another year together at college?\n\t\t\t<\/p>\n\t\t\t<p>\n\t\t\t\t<strong>Trisha:<\/strong>\u00a0 Right.\n\t\t\t<\/p>\n\t\t\t<p>\n\t\t\t\t<strong>Justin:<\/strong>\u00a0 Yes.\n\t\t\t<\/p>\n\t\t\t<p>\n\t\t\t\t<strong>Bob:<\/strong>\u00a0 Were you still a student after you were married?\n\t\t\t<\/p>\n\t\t\t<p>\n\t\t\t\t<strong>Trisha:<\/strong>\u00a0 Yes, I continued as a student.\u00a0 Trish actually took a year off, then, to save up for our wedding.\u00a0 When we got married, in July 1995, I had a year of school left and she reentered classes at Lincoln, as well, but, then, got pregnant four months after we got married.\u00a0 \n\t\t\t<\/p>\n\t\t\t<p>\n\t\t\t\t<strong>Dennis:<\/strong>\u00a0 Okay, you don\u2019t know this about our broadcast, but for a number of years\u2014it didn\u2019t matter who you were\u2014Chuck Swindoll, R.C. Sproul\u2014we were no respecter of persons.\u00a0 [Laughter]\u00a0 We would ask these Christian leaders for a great honeymoon story because everybody has got a honeymoon story\u2014it seems at least\u2014a honeymoon story that is a showstopper.\u00a0 Was that true of you guys?\n\t\t\t<\/p>\n\t\t\t<p>\n\t\t\t\t<strong>Justin:<\/strong>\u00a0 That is very true.\n\t\t\t<\/p>\n\t\t\t<p>\n\t\t\t\t<strong>Trisha:<\/strong>\u00a0 It\u2019s a show-stopper.\u00a0 I don\u2019t know the kind of show you want to watch, but it was a show-stopper! [Laughter]\n\t\t\t<\/p>\n\t\t\t<p>\n\t\t\t\t<strong>Justin:<\/strong>\u00a0 How long is it?\u00a0 How long is this broadcast?\n\t\t\t<\/p>\n\t\t\t<p>\n\t\t\t\t<strong>Bob:<\/strong>\u00a0 Well, tell the story and we\u2019ll see what we can do.\n\t\t\t<\/p>\n\t\t\t<p>\n\t\t\t\t<strong>Trisha:<\/strong>\u00a0 Well, for both Justin and I, we grew up in lower-middle income families.\u00a0 I left school for a semester to be able to afford to get married.\u00a0 To go on our honeymoon was just an extra bonus.\u00a0 We got married in Chicago the year that\u2014I think, still, to date\u2014was like the worst natural disaster, due to a heat wave.\n\t\t\t<\/p>\n\t\t\t<p>\n\t\t\t\t<strong>Justin:<\/strong>\u00a0 Heat wave.\n\t\t\t<\/p>\n\t\t\t<p>\n\t\t\t\t<strong>Trisha:<\/strong>\u00a0 The heat was so awful, and the church we got married in did not have air conditioning.\u00a0 \n\t\t\t<\/p>\n\t\t\t<p>\n\t\t\t\t<strong>Bob:<\/strong>\u00a0 Ohhhh\u2014\n\t\t\t<\/p>\n\t\t\t<p>\n\t\t\t\t<strong>Trisha:<\/strong>\u00a0 So, I was in a long-sleeved, bedazzled dress, and\u2014\n\t\t\t<\/p>\n\t\t\t<p>\n\t\t\t\t<strong>Bob:<\/strong>\u00a0 Ohhhh\u2014 \n\t\t\t<\/p>\n\t\t\t<p>\n\t\t\t\t<strong>Trisha:<\/strong>\u00a0 \u2014my future husband is in a suit.\u00a0 It started off as kind of a hot mess, in all true forms; but we got through the wedding well.\u00a0 Our reception, thankfully, had air conditioning.\u00a0 Our poor moms were literally taking the cards we had received from our guests and opening them to see if we had enough money to go on our honeymoon.\n\t\t\t<\/p>\n\t\t\t<p>\n\t\t\t\tThankfully, we did.\u00a0 We were excited.\u00a0 I got this ginormous dress!\u00a0 We got to borrow Justin\u2019s family\u2019s first brand-new vehicle that they had ever owned.\u00a0 It was the Astro mini-van.\u00a0 I don\u2019t know if you remember those, where you could turn the wheel\u2014?\n\t\t\t<\/p>\n\t\t\t<p>\n\t\t\t\t<strong>Justin:<\/strong>\u00a0 Not exactly the cool honeymoon cruiser that I had envisioned when I\u2014\n\t\t\t<\/p>\n\t\t\t<p>\n\t\t\t\t<strong>Bob:<\/strong>\u00a0 Not the romantic convertible you were going to drive her away in.\n\t\t\t<\/p>\n\t\t\t<p>\n\t\t\t\t<strong>Justin:<\/strong>\u00a0 Exactly, exactly; but it was great.\n\t\t\t<\/p>\n\t\t\t<p>\n\t\t\t\t<strong>Trisha:<\/strong>\u00a0 So, to take you through the 12 hours in a synopsis:\u00a0 We were in the car for about three hours\u2014ran into an accident\u2014sat for another five\u2014finally, got to our destination in the middle of the night.\u00a0 I was so exhausted\u2014the whole \u201cCarry me through the threshold\u201d\u2014I was like, \u201cJust get me to bed!\u201d\n\t\t\t<\/p>\n\t\t\t<p>\n\t\t\t\t<strong>Justin:<\/strong>\u00a0 It\u2019s like 4:00 in the morning\u2014we finally get to the hotel.\u00a0 Trisha starts crying.\u00a0 I thought, \u201cNothing has happened yet.\u00a0 Why are you crying?\u201d\u00a0 I thought, \u201cYou know, it\u2019s 4:00 in the morning.\u00a0 Maybe she\u2019s just tired.\u201d\u00a0 She\u2019s like, \u201cI can\u2019t believe this is happening, but I need you to go to Walmart<sup>\u00ae<\/sup>.\u201d\u00a0 I said, \u201cRight now?\u201d\u00a0 And she gives me the list of the feminine products that I need to buy because that time of the month had just arrived, the minute we walked into the hotel room.\u00a0 So, she goes and starts a bath.\u00a0 I head to Walmart\u2014, in my tux, still. [Laughter]\n\t\t\t<\/p>\n\t\t\t<p>\n\t\t\t\t<strong>Dennis:<\/strong>\u00a0 Did you carry a sandwich sign reading \u201cJust Married\u201d as you went down the aisle? [Laughter]\n\t\t\t<\/p>\n\t\t\t<p>\n\t\t\t\t<strong>Justin:<\/strong>\u00a0 I come back and she\u2019s asleep.\u00a0 We go to bed that night.\u00a0 We got up, and it was the next day.\n\t\t\t<\/p>\n\t\t\t<p>\n\t\t\t\t<strong>Trisha:<\/strong>\u00a0 You know, God\u2019s Word says His mercies are new every morning, \u201cLet\u2019s just start a new day.\u201d\u00a0 So, we get on the road.\u00a0 Mind you, the heat wave is still in full gear.\u00a0 As we\u2019re driving on the interstate, we notice this hay truck in front of us\u2014\n\t\t\t<\/p>\n\t\t\t<p>\n\t\t\t\t<strong>Justin:<\/strong>\u00a0 We\u2019re in Kentucky\u2014some place in Kentucky.\u00a0 \n\t\t\t<\/p>\n\t\t\t<p>\n\t\t\t\t<strong>Trisha:<\/strong>\u00a0 \u2014starts to lose its hay.\u00a0 We were kind of looking at each other like, \u201cIs this really happening?\u201d\u00a0 Then, all of a sudden, barrels of hay are falling off of the truck.\u00a0 So, of course, we stop and try to help the guy out.\u00a0 As we\u2019re baling hay off of the interstate, hay gets caught underneath his truck and blows the truck to smithereens.\u00a0 It shuts down the interstate.\u00a0 After giving our statement to the police officer, we finally made our second trek to our destination.\u00a0 We did eventually get there\u2014maybe a day late or so\u2014\n\t\t\t<\/p>\n\t\t\t<p>\n\t\t\t\t<strong>Justin:<\/strong>\u00a0 We got there a day late.\n\t\t\t<\/p>\n\t\t\t<p>\n\t\t\t\t<strong>Trisha:<\/strong>\u00a0 \u2014but we were so excited to finally be there, we just threw our stuff down in the little house we were staying in and went to the beach.\u00a0 Mind you, I was 20.\u00a0 Justin was 21.\u00a0 We were just like kids playing on the beach.\u00a0 After about three hours, we kind of got hungry and thought it was time to come in.\u00a0 About a half hour after eating our food, I really started to feel like I had a fever.\n\t\t\t<\/p>\n\t\t\t<p>\n\t\t\t\t<strong>Bob:<\/strong>\u00a0 Maybe a little sunburn happening there?\n\t\t\t<\/p>\n\t\t\t<p>\n\t\t\t\t<strong>Trisha:<\/strong>\u00a0 A little hot.\n\t\t\t<\/p>\n\t\t\t<p>\n\t\t\t\t<strong>Dennis:<\/strong>\u00a0 It\u2019s not the first one of these stories we\u2019ve heard.\u00a0 \n\t\t\t<\/p>\n\t\t\t<p>\n\t\t\t\t<strong>Justin:<\/strong>\u00a0 She wasn\u2019t just a little sunburned.\u00a0 She was blistered, from head-to-toe.\n\t\t\t<\/p>\n\t\t\t<p>\n\t\t\t\t<strong>Trisha:<\/strong>\u00a0 Yes.\n\t\t\t<\/p>\n\t\t\t<p>\n\t\t\t\t<strong>Justin:<\/strong>\u00a0 She had blisters all over her stomach.\n\t\t\t<\/p>\n\t\t\t<p>\n\t\t\t\t<strong>Trisha:<\/strong>\u00a0 Yes.\u00a0 You were on the phone with your dad.\u00a0 You can tell them\u2014it\u2019s okay.\n\t\t\t<\/p>\n\t\t\t<p>\n\t\t\t\t<strong>Justin:<\/strong>\u00a0 That isn\u2019t that.\u00a0 So, \u201cWe\u2019ll just stay in tonight and put some aloe vera on it.\u00a0 You\u2019ll be better tomorrow.\u201d\u00a0 [Laughter]\u00a0 Next day, she\u2019s not any better.\u00a0 So, we go to the movies.\u00a0 We go see a movie.\u00a0 The next day, she\u2019s finally getting a little bit better but not really.\u00a0 We still have not consummated the marriage.\u00a0 I, literally, after three days, I call my dad.\u00a0 I\u2019m like, \u201cWhat am I supposed to do here?\u00a0 I got married for some action and there\u2019s no action going on!\u201d\u00a0 [Laughter]\u00a0 He\u2019s like, \u201cWe\u2019re not even Catholic, but I think you can annul it.\u201d\u00a0 [Laughter]\n\t\t\t<\/p>\n\t\t\t<p>\n\t\t\t\t<strong>Trisha:<\/strong>\u00a0 On our final day, we had all of this money because we couldn\u2019t do anything all week, obviously.\u00a0 I was starting to feel a little bit better, so we decided to get a wave runner.\u00a0 Mind you, my husband is a 21-year-old \u201cman\u201d.\n\t\t\t<\/p>\n\t\t\t<p>\n\t\t\t\t<strong>Justin:<\/strong>\u00a0 Now, wait a minute!\u00a0 Why did you put quotes around that?\u00a0 [Laughter]\n\t\t\t<\/p>\n\t\t\t<p>\n\t\t\t\t<strong>Bob:<\/strong>\u00a0 Because when you give a 21-year-old a wave runner, he reverts.\u00a0 I\u2019m just telling you that I\u2019ve seen it happen!\n\t\t\t<\/p>\n\t\t\t<p>\n\t\t\t\t<strong>Trisha:<\/strong>\u00a0 Thank you.\n\t\t\t<\/p>\n\t\t\t<p>\n\t\t\t\t<strong>Dennis:<\/strong>\u00a0 Here\u2019s my question\u2014a wave runner is not a good place to consummate\u2014 [Laughter] \u2014why would you be thinking of a wave runner?!\u201d\n\t\t\t<\/p>\n\t\t\t<p>\n\t\t\t\t<strong>Justin:<\/strong>\u00a0 The tension around that particular topic had already been exhausted.\u00a0 So, \u201cLet\u2019s just go do something fun because we\u2019ve already argued about that three or four times.\u201d\n\t\t\t<\/p>\n\t\t\t<p>\n\t\t\t\t<strong>Trisha:<\/strong>\u00a0 Yes, yes!\u00a0 So we get on this; and yes, he has a lot of energy.\u00a0 He says something to me.\u00a0 Before I can even respond, we just take off.\u00a0 As we are taking off, there\u2019s like a cove area, before you get out to the open sea.\u00a0 There\u2019s a yacht coming in\u2014like a party yacht with people on it.\u00a0 It was like slow motion.\u00a0 I could see my young husband seeing these enormous waves this yacht was making.\u00a0 He was like, \u201cGame on!\u201d\n\t\t\t<\/p>\n\t\t\t<p>\n\t\t\t\tSo, we were at full throttle;
