<\/strong>\u00a0Brenda, I\u2019m wondering if you have a favorite Jill\u2019s House story since it opened two years ago now.\u00a0 \n\t\t\t<\/p>\n\t\t\t<p>\n\t\t\t\t<strong>Brenda:<\/strong>\u00a0 Oh, wow, the favorite Jill\u2019s House story.\u00a0 I just love\u2014Cameron sends updates which I sit and I just, tears\u2014many, many months.\u00a0 One of the stories\u2014and I was riding home from taking care of my dad, and somebody was in the car with me.\u00a0 We were reading that update.\u00a0 It just made me cry.\u00a0 \n\t\t\t<\/p>\n\t\t\t<p>\n\t\t\t\tOne lady was diagnosed with cancer.\u00a0 She was a single parent, and I never even thought of this,\u00a0 Jill\u2019s House serving this kind of a person, but she schedules her chemo so her child\u2014\n\t\t\t<\/p>\n\t\t\t<p>\n\t\t\t\t<strong>Dennis:<\/strong>\u00a0 Wow!\u00a0 \n\t\t\t<\/p>\n\t\t\t<p>\n\t\t\t\t<strong>Brenda:<\/strong>\u00a0 \u2014can have a stay at Jill\u2019s House.\u00a0 There are all sorts of stories like that, that you go, \u201cWell, I never even thought about that.\u201d\u00a0 I mean I never thought about that, that they would need help; but you think about it: A single parent going through chemo.\u00a0 What are they to do?\u00a0 So, she said, \u201cI\u2019m so thankful there\u2019s a Jill\u2019s House, and my child can come stay here; and that\u2019s how I plan my treatments.\u201d\u00a0 \n\t\t\t<\/p>\n\t\t\t<p>\n\t\t\t\t<strong>Bob:<\/strong>\u00a0 Cameron, you write those newsletters.\u00a0 Do you have a favorite story?<strong>\u00a0 <\/strong>\n\t\t\t<\/p>\n\t\t\t<p>\n\t\t\t\t<strong>\u00a0<\/strong>\n\t\t\t<\/p>\n\t\t\t<p>\n\t\t\t\t<strong>Cameron:<\/strong>\u00a0 I do.\u00a0 We go out to the schools; and through the schools, we met a family.\u00a0 In this family, the dad had been having to sleep in his child\u2019s bed every night for the last eight years\u2014the child was nine\u2014just to soothe the child.\u00a0 When he heard about our overnight program, he signed his child up for it really quickly thinking, \u201cWell, maybe I can get a night of sleep.\u201d\u00a0 \n\t\t\t<\/p>\n\t\t\t<p>\n\t\t\t\tSo his child stayed with us that first night.\u00a0 He didn\u2019t sleep real well, but he slept.\u00a0 The most amazing part was that\u2014well, a couple things.\u00a0 The dad the next morning called before he had even heard how it\u2019d gone and said, \u201cWe want to sign up for more of this because I like sleeping,\u201d but then, that night, his son came home and went to his own room at home and closed the door and went to bed.\u00a0 \n\t\t\t<\/p>\n\t\t\t<p>\n\t\t\t\tSo, he learned independence at Jill\u2019s House.\u00a0 That\u2019s a dad that\u2019s sleeping better every night.\u00a0 That\u2019s a family whose life is much better than it was before.\u00a0 \n\t\t\t<\/p>\n\t\t\t<p>\n\t\t\t\tAnother family that I like, there\u2019s a boy named Arturo; and his mom, Sylvia, is a single mom.\u00a0 She heard about our program, and she cleans houses for a living.\u00a0 So, she didn\u2019t have funding lined up, but she said \u201cOh, well, I\u2019m going to clean a couple extra houses, so I can have some funds to bring the child to Jill\u2019s House.\u201d\u00a0 We heard about the need.\u00a0 We were able to connect her to programs that helped pay for these kinds of stays for her son.\u00a0 Now, her child is a regular with us.\u00a0 \n\t\t\t<\/p>\n\t\t\t<p>\n\t\t\t\tHe has progressed markedly since coming to be with us.\u00a0 She is now trying to figure out how to get connected with the Spanish-speaking ministry through the church, and she says that we\u2019re God\u2019s angels sent to bring relief to her family.\u00a0 \n\t\t\t<\/p>\n\t\t\t<p>\n\t\t\t\tThese kinds of things are happening.\u00a0 There are families that are being transformed by God through this ministry, and it\u2019s beautiful to watch.\u00a0 \n\t\t\t<\/p>\n\t\t\t<p>\n\t\t\t\t<br><strong>Bob:<\/strong>\u00a0 Brenda, I have to ask you one more question.\u00a0 That is, somebody listening who goes, \u201cWe have this family in our church.\u00a0 They\u2019ve got a special needs child\u201d\u2014or maybe somebody at school\u2014\u201cand I\u2019d love to do something, but I don\u2019t know where to start.\u201d How would you coach that person?\u00a0 What\u2019s the first thing you do?\u00a0 \n\t\t\t<\/p>\n\t\t\t<p>\n\t\t\t\t<strong>Brenda:<\/strong>\u00a0 Wow, to impact and have an impact on that family?\u00a0 \n\t\t\t<\/p>\n\t\t\t<p>\n\t\t\t\t<strong>Bob:<\/strong>\u00a0 Yes, just to reach out in love.\u00a0 \n\t\t\t<\/p>\n\t\t\t<p>\n\t\t\t\t<strong>Brenda:<\/strong>\u00a0 Well\u2014\n\t\t\t<\/p>\n\t\t\t<p>\n\t\t\t\t<strong>Bob:<\/strong>\u00a0 What do you do?\u00a0 \n\t\t\t<\/p>\n\t\t\t<p>\n\t\t\t\t<strong>Brenda:<\/strong>\u00a0 The first thing I would do is look at the siblings.\u00a0 I mean I felt so guilty all the time because my boys were without me, and I couldn\u2019t be with them.\u00a0 I couldn\u2019t do the things I wanted to.\u00a0 I thought so many times, \u201cI wish somebody would just call up and say, \u2018Will you go out to the park?\u00a0 You want to come to the park?\u00a0 Do you want to go play basketball?\u00a0 Do you want to go to McDonald\u2019s?\u00a0 Come with our family.\u00a0 We\u2019re going here, we\u2019re going there.\u2019\u201d\u00a0 Just include them.\u00a0 They need to be included.\u00a0 \n\t\t\t<\/p>\n\t\t\t<p>\n\t\t\t\tThese\u2014that\u2019s the biggest thing you could do for a parent.\u00a0 Release some of that guilt that they can\u2019t spend time with their other siblings because they are spending so much time with this child with a disability.\u00a0 \n\t\t\t<\/p>\n\t\t\t<p>\n\t\t\t\t<strong>Dennis:<\/strong>\u00a0 When you love my kids\u2014\n\t\t\t<\/p>\n\t\t\t<p>\n\t\t\t\t<strong>Brenda:<\/strong>\u00a0 Oh, that speaks\u2014\n\t\t\t<\/p>\n\t\t\t<p>\n\t\t\t\t<strong>Dennis:<\/strong>\u00a0 \u2014you love me.\u00a0 \n\t\t\t<\/p>\n\t\t\t<p>\n\t\t\t\t<strong>Brenda:<\/strong>\u00a0 \u2014volumes.\u00a0 \n\t\t\t<\/p>\n\t\t\t<p>\n\t\t\t\t<strong>Dennis:<\/strong>\u00a0 You love me.\u00a0 \n\t\t\t<\/p>\n\t\t\t<p>\n\t\t\t\tEarlier, Brenda, I read Romans 8:28, and I know you believe this, but I want you to comment on it.\u00a0 I think it\u2019s become evident that it\u2019s true, but I just want you to comment how it\u2019s been true in your life.\u00a0 Paul writes, \u201cAnd we know that for those who love God, all things work together for good for those who are called according to His purpose.\u201d\u00a0 How have you seen all things working together for good?\u00a0 \n\t\t\t<\/p>\n\t\t\t<p>\n\t\t\t\t<strong>Brenda:<\/strong>\u00a0 I\u2014it hasn\u2019t come easily.\u00a0 It has been painful, and it\u2019s not what I would have chosen; but once I turned Jill over to the Lord and I said, \u201cUse her life in a powerful way\u201d\u2014and seeing these ministries to hundreds of families in our community that would no way have been reached before, I just think, \u201cThank You, Lord, for using my daughter, Jill.\u00a0 Thank You.\u201d\u00a0 \n\t\t\t<\/p>\n\t\t\t<p>\n\t\t\t\tYes, there are many times I wish\u2014I dreamed of going\u2014having her go to the prom, go to the mall with her, go to lunch with her, do all those fun things that other children are doing at this age; but when in the light of eternity, what\u2019s going to really matter?\u00a0 This is what\u2019s going to matter\u2014just watching what she\u2019s doing for the Kingdom of God and loving these families.\u00a0 \n\t\t\t<\/p>\n\t\t\t<p>\n\t\t\t\tEven as we were coming into Little Rock and the plane was coming down, I said, \u201cI\u2019ve never been to Little Rock before.\u201d\u00a0 I said, \u201cJill got us here.\u201d\u00a0 I\u2019m here because of Jill.\u00a0 (Laughter)\u00a0 It\u2019s just constantly reminding me that God is using this girl\u2019s life.\u00a0 \n\t\t\t<\/p>\n\t\t\t<p>\n\t\t\t\t<strong>Dennis:<\/strong>\u00a0 There are a lot of lessons that come out of your story.\u00a0 One is the family you were raised in taught you the Scripture.\u00a0 How could they have known that they were equipping you to be able to handle a hurricane?\u00a0 I mean a massive storm that will last a lifetime.\u00a0 \n\t\t\t<\/p>\n\t\t\t<p>\n\t\t\t\t<strong>Brenda:<\/strong>\u00a0 Yes.\u00a0 \n\t\t\t<\/p>\n\t\t\t<p>\n\t\t\t\t<strong>Dennis:<\/strong>\u00a0 A second great lesson is that we need one another.\u00a0 Nobody was intended to do life just by themselves.\u00a0 They were designed to do life with others and to admit their need and to say, \u201cHelp\u201d\u2014\n\t\t\t<\/p>\n\t\t\t<p>\n\t\t\t\t<strong>Brenda:<\/strong>\u00a0 Yes.\u00a0 \n\t\t\t<\/p>\n\t\t\t<p>\n\t\t\t\t<strong>Dennis:<\/strong>\u00a0 \u2014\u201cI need help.\u201d\u00a0 I think the third one is also really clear with an exclamation point.\u00a0 There are listeners who are hearing this story and finding out about Jill\u2019s House, and God\u2019s already broken their hearts.\u00a0 They\u2019ve already either had a family member or perhaps in their family\u2014they\u2019ve found themselves in this situation.\u00a0 They know firsthand what it\u2019s like, and they\u2019ve wanted to do something, but they don\u2019t know what to do.\u00a0 \n\t\t\t<\/p>\n\t\t\t<p>\n\t\t\t\tJill\u2019s House is willing to answer a question or two that a you have a favorite Jill\u2019s House story since it opened two years ago now.\u00a0 \n\t\t\t<\/p>\n\t\t\t<p>\n\t\t\t\t<strong>Brenda:<\/strong>\u00a0 Oh, wow, the favorite Jill\u2019s House story.\u00a0 I just love\u2014Cameron sends updates which I sit and I just, tears\u2014many, many months.\u00a0 One of the stories\u2014and I was riding home from taking care of my dad, and somebody was in the car with me.\u00a0 We were reading that update.\u00a0 It just made me cry.\u00a0 \n\t\t\t<\/p>\n\t\t\t<p>\n\t\t\t\tOne lady was diagnosed with cancer.\u00a0 She was a single parent, and I never even thought of this,\u00a0 Jill\u2019s House serving this kind of a person, but she schedules her chemo so her child\u2014\n\t\t\t<\/p>\n\t\t\t<p>\n\t\t\t\t<strong>Dennis:<\/strong>\u00a0 Wow!\u00a0 \n\t\t\t<\/p>\n\t\t\t<p>\n\t\t\t\t<strong>Brenda:<\/strong>\u00a0 \u2014can have a stay at Jill\u2019s House.\u00a0 There are all sorts of stories like that, that you go, \u201cWell, I never even thought about that.\u201d\u00a0 I mean I never thought about that, that they would need help; but you think about it: A single parent going through chemo.\u00a0 What are they to do?\u00a0 So, she said, \u201cI\u2019m so thankful there\u2019s a Jill\u2019s House, and my child can come stay here; and that\u2019s how I plan my treatments.\u201d\u00a0 \n\t\t\t<\/p>\n\t\t\t<p>\n\t\t\t\t<strong>Bob:<\/strong>\u00a0 Cameron, you write those newsletters.\u00a0 Do you have a favorite story?<strong>\u00a0 <\/strong>\n\t\t\t<\/p>\n\t\t\t<p>\n\t\t\t\t<strong>\u00a0<\/strong>\n\t\t\t<\/p>\n\t\t\t<p>\n\t\t\t\t<strong>Cameron:<\/strong>\u00a0 I do.\u00a0 We go out to the schools; and through the schools, we met a family.\u00a0 In this family, the dad had been having to sleep in his child\u2019s bed every night for the last eight years\u2014the child was nine\u2014just to soothe the child.\u00a0 When he heard about our overnight program, he signed his child up for it really quickly thinking, \u201cWell, maybe I can get a night of sleep.\u201d\u00a0 \n\t\t\t<\/p>\n\t\t\t<p>\n\t\t\t\tSo his child stayed with us that first night.\u00a0 He didn\u2019t sleep real well, but he slept.\u00a0 The most amazing part was that\u2014well, a couple things.\u00a0 The dad the next morning called before he had even heard how it\u2019d gone and said, \u201cWe want to sign up for more of this because I like sleeping,\u201d but then, that night, his son came home and went to his own room at home and closed the door and went to bed.\u00a0 \n\t\t\t<\/p>\n\t\t\t<p>\n\t\t\t\tSo, he learned independence at Jill\u2019s House.\u00a0 That\u2019s a dad that\u2019s sleeping better every night.\u00a0 That\u2019s a family whose life is much better than it was before.\u00a0 \n\t\t\t<\/p>\n\t\t\t<p>\n\t\t\t\tAnother family that I like, there\u2019s a boy named Arturo; and his mom, Sylvia, is a single mom.\u00a0 She heard about our program, and she cleans houses for a living.\u00a0 So, she didn\u2019t have funding lined up, but she said \u201cOh, well, I\u2019m going to clean a couple extra houses, so I can have some funds to bring the child to Jill\u2019s House.\u201d\u00a0 We heard about the need.\u00a0 We were able to connect her to programs that helped pay for these kinds of stays for her son.\u00a0 Now, her child is a regular with us.\u00a0 \n\t\t\t<\/p>\n\t\t\t<p>\n\t\t\t\tHe has progressed markedly since coming to be with us.\u00a0 She is now trying to figure out how to get connected with the Spanish-speaking ministry through the church, and she says that we\u2019re God\u2019s angels sent to bring relief to her family.\u00a0 \n\t\t\t<\/p>\n\t\t\t<p>\n\t\t\t\tThese kinds of things are happening.\u00a0 There are families that are being transformed by God through this ministry, and it\u2019s beautiful to watch.\u00a0 \n\t\t\t<\/p>\n\t\t\t<p>\n\t\t\t\t<br><strong>Bob:<\/strong>\u00a0 Brenda, I have to ask you one more question.\u00a0 That is, somebody listening who goes, \u201cWe have this family in our church.\u00a0 They\u2019ve got a special needs child\u201d\u2014or maybe somebody at school\u2014\u201cand I\u2019d love to do something, but I don\u2019t know where to start.\u201d How would you coach that person?\u00a0 What\u2019s the first thing you do?\u00a0 \n\t\t\t<\/p>\n\t\t\t<p>\n\t\t\t\t<strong>Brenda:<\/strong>\u00a0 Wow, to impact and have an impact on that family?\u00a0 \n\t\t\t<\/p>\n\t\t\t<p>\n\t\t\t\t<strong>Bob:<\/strong>\u00a0 Yes, just to reach out in love.\u00a0 \n\t\t\t<\/p>\n\t\t\t<p>\n\t\t\t\t<strong>Brenda:<\/strong>\u00a0 Well\u2014\n\t\t\t<\/p>\n\t\t\t<p>\n\t\t\t\t<strong>Bob:<\/strong>\u00a0 What do you do?\u00a0 \n\t\t\t<\/p>\n\t\t\t<p>\n\t\t\t\t<strong>Brenda:<\/strong>\u00a0 The first thing I would do is look at the siblings.\u00a0 I mean I felt so guilty all the time because my boys were without me, and I couldn\u2019t be with them.\u00a0 I couldn\u2019t do the things I wanted to.\u00a0 I thought so many times, \u201cI wish somebody would just call up and say, \u2018Will you go out to the park?\u00a0 You want to come to the park?\u00a0 Do you want to go play basketball?\u00a0 Do you want to go to McDonald\u2019s?\u00a0 Come with our family.\u00a0 We\u2019re going here, we\u2019re going there.\u2019\u201d\u00a0 Just include them.\u00a0 They need to be included.\u00a0 \n\t\t\t<\/p>\n\t\t\t<p>\n\t\t\t\tThese\u2014that\u2019s the biggest thing you could do for a parent.\u00a0 Release some of that guilt that they can\u2019t spend time with their other siblings because they are spending so much time with this child with a disability.\u00a0 \n\t\t\t<\/p>\n\t\t\t<p>\n\t\t\t\t<strong>Dennis:<\/strong>\u00a0 When you love my kids\u2014\n\t\t\t<\/p>\n\t\t\t<p>\n\t\t\t\t<strong>Brenda:<\/strong>\u00a0 Oh, that speaks\u2014\n\t\t\t<\/p>\n\t\t\t<p>\n\t\t\t\t<strong>Dennis:<\/strong>\u00a0 \u2014you love me.\u00a0 \n\t\t\t<\/p>\n\t\t\t<p>\n\t\t\t\t<strong>Brenda:<\/strong>\u00a0 \u2014volumes.\u00a0 \n\t\t\t<\/p>\n\t\t\t<p>\n\t\t\t\t<strong>Dennis:<\/strong>\u00a0 You love me.\u00a0 \n\t\t\t<\/p>\n\t\t\t<p>\n\t\t\t\tEarlier, Brenda, I read Romans 8:28, and I know you believe this, but I want you to comment on it.\u00a0 I think it\u2019s become evident that it\u2019s true, but I just want you to comment how it\u2019s been true in your life.\u00a0 Paul writes, \u201cAnd we know that for those who love God, all things work together for good for those who are called according to His purpose.\u201d\u00a0 How have you seen all things working together for good?\u00a0 \n\t\t\t<\/p>\n\t\t\t<p>\n\t\t\t\t<strong>Brenda:<\/strong>\u00a0 I\u2014it hasn\u2019t come easily.\u00a0 It has been painful, and it\u2019s not what I would have chosen; but once I turned Jill over to the Lord and I said, \u201cUse her life in a powerful way\u201d\u2014and seeing these ministries to hundreds of families in our community that would no way have been reached before, I just think, \u201cThank You, Lord, for using my daughter, Jill.\u00a0 Thank You.\u201d\u00a0 \n\t\t\t<\/p>\n\t\t\t<p>\n\t\t\t\tYes, there are many times I wish\u2014I dreamed of going\u2014having her go to the prom, go to the mall with her, go to lunch with her, do all those fun things that other children are doing at this age; but when in the light of eternity, what\u2019s going to really matter?\u00a0 This is what\u2019s going to matter\u2014just watching what she\u2019s doing for the Kingdom of God and loving these families.\u00a0 \n\t\t\t<\/p>\n\t\t\t<p>\n\t\t\t\tEven as we were coming into Little Rock and the plane was coming down, I said, \u201cI\u2019ve never been to Little Rock before.\u201d\u00a0 I said, \u201cJill got us here.\u201d\u00a0 I\u2019m here because of Jill.\u00a0 (Laughter)\u00a0 It\u2019s just constantly reminding me that God is using this girl\u2019s life.\u00a0 \n\t\t\t<\/p>\n\t\t\t<p>\n\t\t\t\t<strong>Dennis:<\/strong>\u00a0 There are a lot of lessons that come out of your story.\u00a0 One is the family you were raised in taught you the Scripture.\u00a0 How could they have known that they were equipping you to be able to handle a hurricane?\u00a0 I mean a massive storm that will last a lifetime.\u00a0 \n\t\t\t<\/p>\n\t\t\t<p>\n\t\t\t\t<strong>Brenda:<\/strong>\u00a0 Yes.\u00a0 \n\t\t\t<\/p>\n\t\t\t<p>\n\t\t\t\t<strong>Dennis:<\/strong>\u00a0 A second great lesson is that we need one another.\u00a0 Nobody was intended to do life just by themselves.\u00a0 They were designed to do life with others and to admit their need and to say, \u201cHelp\u201d\u2014\n\t\t\t<\/p>\n\t\t\t<p>\n\t\t\t\t<strong>Brenda:<\/strong>\u00a0 Yes.\u00a0 \n\t\t\t<\/p>\n\t\t\t<p>\n\t\t\t\t<strong>Dennis:<\/strong>\u00a0 \u2014\u201cI need help.\u201d\u00a0 I think the third one is also really clear with an exclamation point.\u00a0 There are listeners who are hearing this story and finding out about Jill\u2019s House, and God\u2019s already broken their hearts.\u00a0 They\u2019ve already either had a family member or perhaps in their family\u2014they\u2019ve found themselves in this situation.\u00a0 They know firsthand what it\u2019s like, and they\u2019ve wanted to do something, but they don\u2019t know what to do.\u00a0 \n\t\t\t<\/p>\n\t\t\t<p>\n\t\t\t\tJill\u2019s House is willing to answer a question or two that a
