but we have another guest you should introduce before I get to that.\n\t\t\t<\/p>\n\t\t\t<p>\n\t\t\t\t<strong>Dennis:<\/strong>\u00a0 I want to introduce Janel Breitenstein who joins us on <em>FamilyLife Today<\/em>.\u00a0 Janel, welcome to the broadcast.\n\t\t\t<\/p>\n\t\t\t<p>\n\t\t\t\t<strong>Janel:<\/strong>\u00a0 Thank you, Dennis.\n\t\t\t<\/p>\n\t\t\t<p>\n\t\t\t\t<strong>Dennis:<\/strong>\u00a0 Janel does a little work here at FamilyLife, and she collaborated with Barbara on a resource we\u2019re going to be talking about today.\u00a0 Janel is\u2014she has a full-time day job.\n\t\t\t<\/p>\n\t\t\t<p>\n\t\t\t\t<strong>Janel:<\/strong>\u00a0 Yes, I do.\n\t\t\t<\/p>\n\t\t\t<p>\n\t\t\t\t<strong>Dennis:<\/strong>\u00a0 She has four children\u2014ages seven, five, four, and two.\u00a0 Did I get that right?\n\t\t\t<\/p>\n\t\t\t<p>\n\t\t\t\t<strong>Janel:<\/strong>\u00a0 Yes, exactly.\n\t\t\t<\/p>\n\t\t\t<p>\n\t\t\t\t<strong>Dennis:<\/strong>\u00a0 That\u2019s good because I found out from your husband.\u00a0 (Laughter)\n\t\t\t<\/p>\n\t\t\t<p>\n\t\t\t\t<strong>Janel:<\/strong>\u00a0 He remembered, which is actually to his credit.\n\t\t\t<\/p>\n\t\t\t<p>\n\t\t\t\t<strong>Dennis:<\/strong>\u00a0 That is.\u00a0 That is good, but Janel joins us on <em>FamilyLife Today<\/em>.\u00a0 We\u2019re glad you\u2019re here.\n\t\t\t<\/p>\n\t\t\t<p>\n\t\t\t\t<strong>Janel:<\/strong>\u00a0 Thank you.\u00a0 \n\t\t\t<\/p>\n\t\t\t<p>\n\t\t\t\t<strong>Bob:<\/strong>\u00a0 At your house, is it a real tree or is it a red tinsel, ugly thing?\u00a0 (Laughter)\u00a0 \n\t\t\t<\/p>\n\t\t\t<p>\n\t\t\t\t<strong>Janel:<\/strong>\u00a0 To tell you the truth, the kids influenced the fake tree decision because the reality is I don\u2019t have enough time to vacuum.\u00a0 So, the answer, \u201cIt\u2019s a fake tree.\u201d\u00a0 \n\t\t\t<\/p>\n\t\t\t<p>\n\t\t\t\t<strong>Bob:<\/strong>\u00a0 It\u2019s a fake tree.\u00a0 See, at our house, it was big deal for years\u2014it was going to be a real tree.\u00a0 That\u2019s what I grew up with.\u00a0 Well, then one of our kids is allergic to the real tree.\u00a0 I didn\u2019t care.\u00a0 He was just stuffy every year at Christmas.\u00a0 (Laughter)\u00a0 We were going to have a <em>real<\/em> tree\u2014 and if he got stuffy\u2014\n\t\t\t<\/p>\n\t\t\t<p>\n\t\t\t\t<strong>Janel:<\/strong>\u00a0 Claritin\u00ae and a real tree.\n\t\t\t<\/p>\n\t\t\t<p>\n\t\t\t\t<strong>Bob:<\/strong>\u00a0 \u2014Yes, he could deal with that.\u00a0 In recent years, I\u2019ve capitulated.\u00a0 I\u2019ve gotten worn out, and we now have a lovely\u2014\n\t\t\t<\/p>\n\t\t\t<p>\n\t\t\t\t<strong>Dennis:<\/strong>\u00a0 Red tinsel?\u00a0 \n\t\t\t<\/p>\n\t\t\t<p>\n\t\t\t\t<strong>Bob:<\/strong>\u00a0 Not red tinsel.\u00a0 Where did this red tinsel?\u00a0 \n\t\t\t<\/p>\n\t\t\t<p>\n\t\t\t\t<strong>Dennis:<\/strong>\u00a0 I don\u2019t know; I think Barbara picked it up on the side of the road\u2014\n\t\t\t<\/p>\n\t\t\t<p>\n\t\t\t\t<strong>Barbara:<\/strong>\u00a0 No, I can tell you.\n\t\t\t<\/p>\n\t\t\t<p>\n\t\t\t\t<strong>Dennis:<\/strong>\u00a0 \u2014somebody had thrown it away.\u00a0 (Laughter)\n\t\t\t<\/p>\n\t\t\t<p>\n\t\t\t\t<strong>Bob:<\/strong>\u00a0 You didn\u2019t realize how strongly he felt about this.\n\t\t\t<\/p>\n\t\t\t<p>\n\t\t\t\t<strong>Barbara:<\/strong>\u00a0 I didn\u2019t.\u00a0 I\u2019m going to have to get something <em>new<\/em> this year!\u00a0 \n\t\t\t<\/p>\n\t\t\t<p>\n\t\t\t\t<strong>Dennis:<\/strong>\u00a0 Actually, we need to put a picture of this on our website.\u00a0 It really is lovely by the time Barbara hangs 5,000 ornaments on it.\u00a0 (Laughter)\n\t\t\t<\/p>\n\t\t\t<p>\n\t\t\t\t<strong>Janel:<\/strong>\u00a0 I guess there will be no sleeping under the tree.\u00a0 \n\t\t\t<\/p>\n\t\t\t<p>\n\t\t\t\t<strong>Barbara:<\/strong>\u00a0 No, there\u2019s a real story behind it, but we probably don\u2019t have time.\n\t\t\t<\/p>\n\t\t\t<p>\n\t\t\t\t<strong>Bob:<\/strong>\u00a0 No, I want to hear the real story.\u00a0 \n\t\t\t<\/p>\n\t\t\t<p>\n\t\t\t\t<strong>Barbara:<\/strong>\u00a0 You want to hear the real story?\n\t\t\t<\/p>\n\t\t\t<p>\n\t\t\t\t<strong>Bob:<\/strong>\u00a0 Yes, I do.\n\t\t\t<\/p>\n\t\t\t<p>\n\t\t\t\t<strong>Barbara:<\/strong>\u00a0 Well, we remodeled our living room a few years ago, and the remodeling went on over the Christmas holiday.\u00a0 There was no room for a Christmas tree, but I didn\u2019t want to have nothing.\u00a0 So, I found this cute, small\u2014it\u2019s about three-, four-feet tall\u2014little red tinsel tree, and it fit on a table top.\u00a0 It allowed us to have the spirit of something Christmasy.\u00a0 I liked it.\n\t\t\t<\/p>\n\t\t\t<p>\n\t\t\t\t<strong>Janel:<\/strong>\u00a0 You love red.\u00a0 You love red, too.\n\t\t\t<\/p>\n\t\t\t<p>\n\t\t\t\t<strong>Barbara:<\/strong>\u00a0 I love red.\u00a0 So, we\u2019ve done it for the last three or four years.\u00a0 \n\t\t\t<\/p>\n\t\t\t<p>\n\t\t\t\t<strong>Bob:<\/strong>\u00a0 You\u2019ve had a least one Christmas, since the kids have left the nest, when you have maybe only had one child home at Christmas\u2014\n\t\t\t<\/p>\n\t\t\t<p>\n\t\t\t\t<strong>Barbara:<\/strong>\u00a0 Yes.\u00a0 Sad days; right?\u00a0 \n\t\t\t<\/p>\n\t\t\t<p>\n\t\t\t\t<strong>Bob:<\/strong>\u00a0 \u2014or Christmas morning didn\u2019t happen at your house the way it used to?\u00a0 \n\t\t\t<\/p>\n\t\t\t<p>\n\t\t\t\t<strong>Barbara:<\/strong>\u00a0 Yes.\n\t\t\t<\/p>\n\t\t\t<p>\n\t\t\t\t<strong>Bob:<\/strong>\u00a0 Do you still put up a tree, and decorate the house, and do all that even if that climatic morning is not going to happen?\u00a0 \n\t\t\t<\/p>\n\t\t\t<p>\n\t\t\t\t<strong>Dennis:<\/strong>\u00a0 No, no\u2014\n\t\t\t<\/p>\n\t\t\t<p>\n\t\t\t\t<strong>Barbara:<\/strong>\u00a0 Yes.\n\t\t\t<\/p>\n\t\t\t<p>\n\t\t\t\t<strong>Dennis:<\/strong>\u00a0 \u2014it\u2019s the red tinsel thing.\u00a0 (Laughter)\u00a0 We don\u2019t have the big tree anymore.\n\t\t\t<\/p>\n\t\t\t<p>\n\t\t\t\t<strong>Bob:<\/strong>\u00a0 It\u2019s gone?\n\t\t\t<\/p>\n\t\t\t<p>\n\t\t\t\t<strong>Dennis:<\/strong>\u00a0 It\u2019s gone.\n\t\t\t<\/p>\n\t\t\t<p>\n\t\t\t\t<strong>Bob:<\/strong>\u00a0 It\u2019s all over?\n\t\t\t<\/p>\n\t\t\t<p>\n\t\t\t\t<strong>Dennis:<\/strong>\u00a0 It\u2019s gone.\n\t\t\t<\/p>\n\t\t\t<p>\n\t\t\t\t<strong>Barbara:<\/strong>\u00a0 I don\u2019t like vacuuming either, like Janel.\u00a0 I\u2019m done with the real trees.\u00a0 We did the real trees until the last one left home.\u00a0 Then, we remodeled the living room, and we\u2019ve had the red tinsel tree for four years.\u00a0 I\u2019m just real happy with my little, tiny tree.\u00a0 (Laughter)\u00a0 I don\u2019t have to vacuum it.\u00a0 It doesn\u2019t shed.\u00a0 \n\t\t\t<\/p>\n\t\t\t<p>\n\t\t\t\t<strong>Janel:<\/strong>\u00a0 It obviously has a <strong>big <\/strong>presence.\u00a0 (Laughter)\n\t\t\t<\/p>\n\t\t\t<p>\n\t\t\t\t<strong>Bob:<\/strong>\u00a0 Janel, let me ask you about Christmas at your house.\u00a0 How long have you and John been married?\u00a0 \n\t\t\t<\/p>\n\t\t\t<p>\n\t\t\t\t<strong>Janel:<\/strong>\u00a0 Eleven years.\n\t\t\t<\/p>\n\t\t\t<p>\n\t\t\t\t<strong>Bob:<\/strong>\u00a0 When you first got married, did you come in with all kinds of, \u201cHere\u2019s how I want to do Christmas in our new family\u201d, and lots of decorations, and, \u201cI want it to be a big deal?\u201d\u00a0 Was that a part of your thinking?\u00a0 \n\t\t\t<\/p>\n\t\t\t<p>\n\t\t\t\t<strong>Janel:<\/strong>\u00a0 Yes, especially from my husband\u2019s side.\u00a0 Christmas\u2014his mom has an annual Christmas party every year\u2014has Christmas music playing pretty much all year.\u00a0 So, that was a really big deal for him.\u00a0 \n\t\t\t<\/p>\n\t\t\t<p>\n\t\t\t\tMy family\u2014we have a lot of real homey traditions.\u00a0 We had kind of the paper cut-out, Sunday school decorations-type tree with all the crayons dipped in glitter, bad pictures of us framed in popsicle sticks, and things like that.\u00a0 So, it was a big deal.\u00a0 \n\t\t\t<\/p>\n\t\t\t<p>\n\t\t\t\tActually, that was one of our first dates.\u00a0 I think it was actually the day after John\u2019s birthday in November, when we first got married, and we were out the door to go get Christmas decorations.\u00a0 It was a big deal.\u00a0 \n\t\t\t<\/p>\n\t\t\t<p>\n\t\t\t\t<strong>Dennis:<\/strong>\u00a0 Did I hear you say that John\u2019s mom played Christmas music all year?\n\t\t\t<\/p>\n\t\t\t<p>\n\t\t\t\t<strong>Janel:<\/strong>\u00a0 I think so.\u00a0 Actually, my dad made a rule in our house that we could only play it after Thanksgiving because I think our family would have, too.\u00a0 (Laughter)\u00a0 \n\t\t\t<\/p>\n\t\t\t<p>\n\t\t\t\t<strong>Bob:<\/strong>\u00a0 Well, then, when you had kids\u2014that kind of ups the ante in a family.\u00a0 Once kids are in, now, you start to be a little more intentional about Christmas; don\u2019t you?\n\t\t\t<\/p>\n\t\t\t<p>\n\t\t\t\t<strong>Janel:<\/strong>\u00a0 Yes, because you have got the discipleship element, at least for a family like ours.\u00a0 Any family who\u2019s seen and follows Deuteronomy 6, the high calling that is set there for parents, as well as Psalm 78, passing our faith onto our kids\u2014it so important.\u00a0 \n\t\t\t<\/p>\n\t\t\t<p>\n\t\t\t\tWe see the history of God\u2014establishing for the Israelites in the Old Testament\u2014feasts and how often they occur in a year because we\u2019re forgetful people.\u00a0 We need those milestones and those great celebrations that add to our senses\u2014through our sensory experiences\u2014the Scripture\u2014what has happened, and what God has done.\u00a0 \n\t\t\t<\/p>\n\t\t\t<p>\n\t\t\t\t<strong>Dennis:<\/strong>\u00a0 Janel, you mentioned the word disciple.\u00a0 You talked about discipling your kids?\u00a0 Was that something you got from your parents growing up?\n\t\t\t<\/p>\n\t\t\t<p>\n\t\t\t\t<strong>Janel:<\/strong>\u00a0 Most definitely.\u00a0 \n\t\t\t<\/p>\n\t\t\t<p>\n\t\t\t\t<strong>Dennis:<\/strong>\u00a0 I mean, I know your parents.\n\t\t\t<\/p>\n\t\t\t<p>\n\t\t\t\t<strong>Janel:<\/strong>\u00a0 Yes.\n\t\t\t<\/p>\n\t\t\t<p>\n\t\t\t\t<strong>Dennis:<\/strong>\u00a0 They work here at FamilyLife.\n\t\t\t<\/p>\n\t\t\t<p>\n\t\t\t\t<strong>Janel:<\/strong>\u00a0 Yes.\n\t\t\t<\/p>\n\t\t\t<p>\n\t\t\t\t<strong>Dennis:<\/strong>\u00a0 Have for over 20 years.\u00a0 \n\t\t\t<\/p>\n\t\t\t<p>\n\t\t\t\t<strong>Janel:<\/strong>\u00a0 Yes.\n\t\t\t<\/p>\n\t\t\t<p>\n\t\t\t\t<strong>Dennis:<\/strong>\u00a0 You really grew up in a home where it wasn\u2019t just traditions that were passed down.\u00a0 Your parents were really attempting to teach you about Who God is and how we relate to Him as His people.\n\t\t\t<\/p>\n\t\t\t<p>\n\t\t\t\t<strong>Janel:<\/strong>\u00a0 Very much so.\u00a0 It was neat because I think it actually became something that we adapted as kids.\u00a0 It\u2019s kind of a\u2014really, a family story that\u2019s slightly embarrassing; but I\u2019ll let you guys in on it since I\u2019m here on the radio and everyone\u2019s listening.\n\t\t\t<\/p>\n\t\t\t<p>\n\t\t\t\t<strong>Dennis:<\/strong>\u00a0 Well, we\u2019ve already shared about our red tinsel thing.\u00a0 \n\t\t\t<\/p>\n\t\t\t<p>\n\t\t\t\t<strong>Janel:<\/strong>\u00a0 Yes.\u00a0 Yes.\n\t\t\t<\/p>\n\t\t\t<p>\n\t\t\t\t<strong>Dennis:<\/strong>\u00a0 Can\u2019t be much worse than that.\u00a0 \n\t\t\t<\/p>\n\t\t\t<p>\n\t\t\t\t<strong>Janel:<\/strong>\u00a0 Well, you know I\u2019m a first-born.\u00a0 I was slightly\u2014no, not slightly\u2014I was nerdy.\u00a0 I was very gregarious and creative.\u00a0 So, every year we would put on the Christmas play for my parents\u2014just the kids and I\u2014\n\t\t\t<\/p>\n\t\t\t<p>\n\t\t\t\t<strong>Dennis:<\/strong>\u00a0 Oh, yes.\n\t\t\t<\/p>\n\t\t\t<p>\n\t\t\t\t<strong>Janel:<\/strong>\u00a0 You know my sisters and I\u2014I have three sisters.\u00a0 There is one sister, who to this day, insists that every year I made her the donkey.\u00a0 I promise, she was not the donkey every year.\u00a0 She was Joseph at least one year.\u00a0 (Laughter)\n\t\t\t<\/p>\n\t\t\t<p>\n\t\t\t\tSo, we would read the story from Luke 2 or different Gospels, and things like that, sing songs, and things like that\u2014put on a full-scale production <em>with music<\/em> for my parents.\u00a0 So, yes, this was something that they started doing, and we quickly adapted\u2014even when we were\u2014I\u2019m not going to tell you how old I was because I might get embarrassed.\n\t\t\t<\/p>\n\t\t\t<p>\n\t\t\t\t<strong>Dennis:<\/strong>\u00a0 Barbara\u2014\n\t\t\t<\/p>\n\t\t\t<p>\n\t\t\t\t<strong>Barbara:<\/strong>\u00a0 I want to know if you charged your parents.\u00a0 (Laughter)\n\t\t\t<\/p>\n\t\t\t<p>\n\t\t\t\t<strong>Janel:<\/strong>\u00a0 No.\n\t\t\t<\/p>\n\t\t\t<p>\n\t\t\t\t<strong>Dennis:<\/strong>\u00a0 Our kids\u2014\n\t\t\t<\/p>\n\t\t\t<p>\n\t\t\t\t<strong>Barbara:<\/strong>\u00a0 Our kids\u2014 \n\t\t\t<\/p>\n\t\t\t<p>\n\t\t\t\t<strong>Dennis:<\/strong>\u00a0 Our kids charged us.\n\t\t\t<\/p>\n\t\t\t<p>\n\t\t\t\t<strong>Barbara:<\/strong>\u00a0 \u2014when they did the Christmas play, they charged us 25 cents each to watch.\n\t\t\t<\/p>\n\t\t\t<p>\n\t\t\t\t<strong>Janel:<\/strong>\u00a0 You know, I really\u2014that makes me sad that I did not\u2014I was not that entrepreneurial because I really should have capitalized on that.\u00a0 \n\t\t\t<\/p>\n\t\t\t<p>\n\t\t\t\t<strong>Barbara:<\/strong>\u00a0 You should have.\u00a0 That\u2019s right, with all that work you put in.\u00a0 \n\t\t\t<\/p>\n\t\t\t<p>\n\t\t\t\t<strong>Bob:<\/strong>\u00a0 Barbara, anybody who knows Janel knows that she\u2019s still kind of a walking VBS waiting to happen; right?\n\t\t\t<\/p>\n\t\t\t<p>\n\t\t\t\t<strong>Barbara:<\/strong>\u00a0 Yes.\u00a0 \n\t\t\t<\/p>\n\t\t\t<p>\n\t\t\t\t<strong>Bob:<\/strong>\u00a0 I mean\u2014\n\t\t\t<\/p>\n\t\t\t<p>\n\t\t\t\t<strong>Dennis:<\/strong>\u00a0 Yes; really.\n\t\t\t<\/p>\n\t\t\t<p>\n\t\t\t\t<strong>Bob:<\/strong>\u00a0 She is.\n\t\t\t<\/p>\n\t\t\t<p>\n\t\t\t\t<strong>Dennis:<\/strong>\u00a0 I hadn\u2019t thought about that, Bob, but that\u2019s true.\u00a0 \n\t\t\t<\/p>\n\t\t\t<p>\n\t\t\t\t<strong>Bob:<\/strong>\u00a0 Janel is one of those, \u201cPut her in a room, just add water, and VBS will materialize.\u201d\n\t\t\t<\/p>\n\t\t\t<p>\n\t\t\t\t<strong>Dennis:<\/strong>\u00a0 Some of our listeners don\u2019t know what VBS is.\n\t\t\t<\/p>\n\t\t\t<p>\n\t\t\t\t<strong>Bob:<\/strong>\u00a0 Vacation Bible School.\u00a0 You <em>love<\/em> being creative with kids and using creativity to disciple kids.\u00a0 I know the very first <em>What God Wants for Christmas<\/em>\u00ae resource that FamilyLife came up with years ago\u2014this was before you had kids that we came up with this resource; right?\n\t\t\t<\/p>\n\t\t\t<p>\n\t\t\t\t<strong>Janel:<\/strong>\u00a0 Yes.\n\t\t\t<\/p>\n\t\t\t<p>\n\t\t\t\t<strong>Bob:<\/strong>\u00a0 When we got a team together this year to reinvent this resource, you were a big contributor to that team.\u00a0 You had a good time doing it; didn\u2019t you?\n\t\t\t<\/p>\n\t\t\t<p>\n\t\t\t\t<strong>Janel:<\/strong>\u00a0 It was really\u2014it was fun.\u00a0 We already had a great resource.\u00a0 So, we were at that interesting spot of really trying to bring it to the next level and make it a home run; but at the same time, not take away the same elements that everyone loved and that had impacted children already.\u00a0 We were getting so much feedback about children coming to Christ through this resource and really interacting with the story.\u00a0 \n\t\t\t<\/p>\n\t\t\t<p>\n\t\t\t\tSpeaking of acting out the Bible story\u2014I know that Barbara said that her kids used to act out Bible stories.\u00a0 It was one of the greatest ways to get them to interact with a Bible story.\u00a0 That\u2019s really one of the real benefits of <em>What God Wants for Christmas<\/em> is because Christmas gets into their hands with this resource.\u00a0 They get to touch it, they get to feel it, they get those sensory experiences.\u00a0 \n\t\t\t<\/p>\n\t\t\t<p>\n\t\t\t\tI read a quote recently that said, \u201cWhat we learn in pleasure, we never forget.\u201d\u00a0 This is\u2014\n\t\t\t<\/p>\n\t\t\t<p>\n\t\t\t\t<strong>Dennis:<\/strong>\u00a0 Say that again.\n\t\t\t<\/p>\n\t\t\t<p>\n\t\t\t\t<strong>Janel:<\/strong>\u00a0 \u201cWhat we learn in pleasure, we never forget.\u201d\u00a0 \n\t\t\t<\/p>\n\t\t\t<p>\n\t\t\t\t<strong>Dennis:<\/strong>\u00a0 That really is true.\u00a0 I have fond memories around certain traditions, growing up in our family; and it really does bring a smile to my face.\u00a0 That\u2019s what we\u2019re trying to do with our kids\u2014help them enjoy from a tactile experience\u2014touching the figurines, seeing the Nativity scene, opening these little boxes.\u00a0 Each one tells a portion of the Christmas story.\u00a0 It\u2019s all a part of <em>What God Wants for Christmas<\/em>.\u00a0 \n\t\t\t<\/p>\n\t\t\t<p>\n\t\t\t\t<strong>Bob:<\/strong>\u00a0 In fact, how would you use this?\u00a0 Or how have you used this with your children?\u00a0 Your oldest is just now seven years old.\n\t\t\t<\/p>\n\t\t\t<p>\n\t\t\t\t<strong>Janel:<\/strong>\u00a0 Yes.\n\t\t\t<\/p>\n\t\t\t<p>\n\t\t\t\t<strong>Bob:<\/strong>\u00a0 Is he even able to engage with\u2014with <em>What God Wants for Christmas,<\/em> or does he just kind of look at and watch what the big kids do?\u00a0 \n\t\t\t<\/p>\n\t\t\t<p>\n\t\t\t\t<strong>Janel:<\/strong>\u00a0 Well, obviously, you\u2019ve got different varying levels of discipleship happening.\u00a0 I think for the two-year-old, he obviously wants to touch, touch, touch.\u00a0 They\u2019re such tactile learners at this phase.\u00a0 You can watch by the way two-year-olds eat their food; you can tell they are tactile learners\u2014the fact that they love sandboxes and they love water\u2014you can take a product like this (even though, you\u2019ll see on the box, \u201cIt\u2019s not intended for children under three\u201d).\u00a0 \n\t\t\t<\/p>\n\t\t\t<p>\n\t\t\t\tYes.\u00a0 I think from two-year-old, all the way up to seven-year-olds, who can understand so much more of the Christmas story, and they\u2019re starting to just barely to get on the abstract level of thinking\u2014and think, \u201cWow!\u00a0 This is different from the myth of Santa Claus.\u00a0 This is different from the myths I experience of Frosty the Snowman, Rudolph the Red-Nosed Reindeer that I\u2019ll see on the Christmas specials on TV.\u00a0 \n\t\t\t<\/p>\n\t\t\t<p>\n\t\t\t\t\u201cThis is something that really happened.\u00a0 This was a real person.\u00a0 Mary was engaged\u2014she was giggling with her friends.\u00a0 This shepherd boy could have been a child, not much older than I was.\u201d\u00a0 So, I can step into where they are at.\u00a0 They\u2019re able to assume roles, just like we can see them doing role playing, doing a play in your living room.\u00a0 They can experience that through this resource.\n\t\t\t<\/p>\n\t\t\t<p>\n\t\t\t\t<strong>Bob:<\/strong>\u00a0 All through the book, and in the poem, you start pointing a child to that last box\u2014\n\t\t\t<\/p>\n\t\t\t<p>\n\t\t\t\t<strong>Barbara:<\/strong>\u00a0 That\u2019s right.\n\t\t\t<\/p>\n\t\t\t<p>\n\t\t\t\t<strong>Bob:<\/strong>\u00a0 \u2014box number seven.\u00a0 One of the great things about <em>What God Wants for Christmas<\/em> is that it doesn\u2019t just tell the Christmas story, but it applies the Christmas story.\u00a0 Box number seven is where what happened in Bethlehem makes sense to you today and enters into your life.\u00a0 I don\u2019t want to give away the secret, although some of our listeners may have an idea what\u2019s in box number seven.\u00a0 \n\t\t\t<\/p>\n\t\t\t<p>\n\t\t\t\tMany of our listeners have used <em>What God Wants for Christmas<\/em> in years past; so, they know what we do.\u00a0 The point of box number seven is so that a child can see this is not just a story that happened in history.\u00a0 This is a story that has implications for your life, and what God wants for Christmas is what we should be focused on every year at Christmastime.\n\t\t\t<\/p>\n\t\t\t<p>\n\t\t\t\t<strong>Barbara:<\/strong>\u00a0 Exactly.\u00a0 So much of our thinking during the Christmas holiday is about gifts anyway\u2014what we\u2019re going to give to certain people.\u00a0 Kids think about what they maybe are going to get.\u00a0 That\u2019s what makes this so unique and wonderful is it helps take that thinking that we\u2019re already all wrapped up in anyway\u2014of gift giving.\u00a0 It applies it to God.\u00a0 \n\t\t\t<\/p>\n\t\t\t<p>\n\t\t\t\tWe look and say, \u201cWell, what does God want?\u201d\u00a0 He was the One who gave the first Christmas gift on that first Christmas day.\u00a0 What is it that God wants back from us?\u00a0 That\u2019s what this story is all about.\u00a0 \n\t\t\t<\/p>\n\t\t\t<p>\n\t\t\t\t<strong>Bob:<\/strong>\u00a0 Well, it just so happens that you have your [Janel\u2019s] oldest child with you today as you\u2019ve come in here to be on <em>FamilyLife Today<\/em>.\u00a0 His name is Baden, is that right?\u00a0 Is that your name?\n\t\t\t<\/p>\n\t\t\t<p>\n\t\t\t\t<strong>Baden:<\/strong>\u00a0 Yes.\n\t\t\t<\/p>\n\t\t\t<p>\n\t\t\t\t<strong>Bob:<\/strong>\u00a0 Baden, you\u2019ve seen this before\u2014<em>What God Wants for Christmas<\/em>; and, \u201cI have no more room for you.\u201d\u00a0\u00a0 It\u2019s like, \u201cActually, I do have some room for you in a stable.\u201d\u00a0 So, they go to the stable; and, you know like, she has the baby; tinsel, ugly thing?\u00a0 (Laughter)\u00a0 \n\t\t\t<\/p>\n\t\t\t<p>\n\t\t\t\t<strong>Janel:<\/strong>\u00a0 To tell you the truth, the kids influenced the fake tree decision because the reality is I don\u2019t have enough time to vacuum.\u00a0 So, the answer, \u201cIt\u2019s a fake tree.\u201d\u00a0 \n\t\t\t<\/p>\n\t\t\t<p>\n\t\t\t\t<strong>Bob:<\/strong>\u00a0 It\u2019s a fake tree.\u00a0 See, at our house, it was big deal for years\u2014it was going to be a real tree.\u00a0 That\u2019s what I grew up with.\u00a0 Well, then one of our kids is allergic to the real tree.\u00a0 I didn\u2019t care.\u00a0 He was just stuffy every year at Christmas.\u00a0 (Laughter)\u00a0 We were going to have a <em>real<\/em> tree\u2014 and if he got stuffy\u2014\n\t\t\t<\/p>\n\t\t\t<p>\n\t\t\t\t<strong>Janel:<\/strong>\u00a0 Claritin\u00ae and a real tree.\n\t\t\t<\/p>\n\t\t\t<p>\n\t\t\t\t<strong>Bob:<\/strong>\u00a0 \u2014Yes, he could deal with ago, and the remodeling went on over the Christmas holiday.\u00a0 There was no room for a Christmas tree, but I didn\u2019t want to have nothing.\u00a0 So, I found this cute, small\u2014it\u2019s about three-, four-feet tall\u2014little red tinsel tree, and it fit on a table top.\u00a0 It allowed us to have the spirit of something Christmasy.\u00a0 I liked it.\n\t\t\t<\/p>\n\t\t\t<p>\n\t\t\t\t<strong>Janel:<\/strong>\u00a0 You love red.\u00a0 You love red, too.\n\t\t\t<\/p>\n\t\t\t<p>\n\t\t\t\t<strong>Barbara:<\/strong>\u00a0 I love red.\u00a0 So, It\u2019s gone.\n\t\t\t<\/p>\n\t\t\t<p>\n\t\t\t\t<strong>Bob:<\/strong>\u00a0 It\u2019s all over?\n\t\t\t<\/p>\n\t\t\t<p>\n\t\t\t\t<strong>Dennis:<\/strong>\u00a0 It\u2019s last one left home.\u00a0 Then, we remodeled the living room, and we\u2019ve had the red tinsel tree for four years.\u00a0 I\u2019m just real happy with my little, tiny tree.\u00a0 (Laughter)\u00a0 I don\u2019t have to vacuum it.\u00a0 It doesn\u2019t shed.\u00a0 \n\t\t\t<\/p>\n\t\t\t<p>\n\t\t\t\t<strong>Janel:<\/strong>\u00a0 It obviously has a <strong>big <\/strong>presence.\u00a0 (Laughter)\n\t\t\t<\/p>\n\t\t\t<p>\n\t\t\t\t<strong>Bob:<\/strong>\u00a0 Janel, let me ask you about Christmas at your house.\u00a0 How long have you and John been married?\u00a0 \n\t\t\t<\/p>\n\t\t\t<p>\n\t\t\t\t<strong>Janel:<\/strong>\u00a0 Eleven years.\n\t\t\t<\/p>\n\t\t\t<p>\n\t\t\t\t<strong>Bob:<\/strong>\u00a0 When you first got married, did you come in with all kinds of, \u201cHere\u2019s how I want to do Christmas in our new family\u201d, and lots of decorations, and, \u201cI want it to be a big deal?\u201d\u00a0 Was that a part of your thinking?\u00a0 \n\t\t\t<\/p>\n\t\t\t<p>\n\t\t\t\t<strong>Janel:<\/strong>\u00a0 Yes, especially from my husband\u2019s side.\u00a0 Christmas\u2014his mom has an annual Christmas party every year\u2014has Christmas music playing pretty much all year.\u00a0 So, that was a really big deal for him.\u00a0 \n\t\t\t<\/p>\n\t\t\t<p>\n\t\t\t\tMy family\u2014we have a lot of real homey traditions.\u00a0 We had kind of the paper cut-out, Sunday school decorations-type tree with all the crayons dipped in glitter, bad pictures of us framed in popsicle sticks, and things like that.\u00a0 So, it was a big deal.\u00a0 \n\t\t\t<\/p>\n\t\t\t<p>\n\t\t\t\tActually, that was one of our first dates.\u00a0 I think it was actually the day after John\u2019s birthday in November, when we first got married, and we were out the door to go get Christmas decorations.\u00a0 It was a big deal.\u00a0 \n\t\t\t<\/p>\n\t\t\t<p>\n\t\t\t\t<strong>Dennis:<\/strong>\u00a0 Did I hear you say that John\u2019s mom played Christmas music all year?\n\t\t\t<\/p>\n\t\t\t<p>\n\t\t\t\t<strong>Janel:<\/strong>\u00a0 I think so.\u00a0 Actually, my dad made a rule in our house that we could only play it after Thanksgiving because I think our family would have, too.\u00a0 (Laughter)\u00a0 \n\t\t\t<\/p>\n\t\t\t<p>\n\t\t\t\t<strong>Bob:<\/strong>\u00a0 Well, then, when you had kids\u2014that kind of ups the ante in a family.\u00a0 Once kids are in, now, you start to be a little more intentional about Christmas; don\u2019t you?\n\t\t\t<\/p>\n\t\t\t<p>\n\t\t\t\t<strong>Janel:<\/strong>\u00a0 Yes, because you have got the discipleship element, at least for a family like ours.\u00a0 Any family who\u2019s seen and follows Deuteronomy 6, the high calling that is set there for parents, as well as Psalm 78, passing our faith onto our kids\u2014it so important.\u00a0 \n\t\t\t<\/p>\n\t\t\t<p>\n\t\t\t\tWe see the history of God\u2014establishing for the Israelites in the Old Testament\u2014feasts and how often they occur in a year because we\u2019re forgetful people.\u00a0 We need those milestones and those great celebrations that add to our senses\u2014through our sensory experiences\u2014the Scripture\u2014what has happened, and what God has done.\u00a0 \n\t\t\t<\/p>\n\t\t\t<p>\n\t\t\t\t<strong>Dennis:<\/strong>\u00a0 Janel, you mentioned the word disciple.\u00a0 You talked about discipling your kids?\u00a0 Was that something you got from your parents growing up?\n\t\t\t<\/p>\n\t\t\t<p>\n\t\t\t\t<strong>Janel:<\/strong>\u00a0 Most definitely.\u00a0 \n\t\t\t<\/p>\n\t\t\t<p>\n\t\t\t\t<strong>Dennis:<\/strong>\u00a0 I mean, I know your parents.\n\t\t\t<\/p>\n\t\t\t<p>\n\t\t\t\t<strong>Janel:<\/strong>\u00a0 Yes.\n\t\t\t<\/p>\n\t\t\t<p>\n\t\t\t\t<strong>Dennis:<\/strong>\u00a0 They work here at FamilyLife.\n\t\t\t<\/p>\n\t\t\t<p>\n\t\t\t\t<strong>Janel:<\/strong>\u00a0 Yes.\n\t\t\t<\/p>\n\t\t\t<p>\n\t\t\t\t<strong>Dennis:<\/strong>\u00a0 You really grew up in a home where it wasn\u2019t just traditions that were passed down.\u00a0 Your parents were really attempting to teach you about Who God is and how we relate to Him as His people.\n\t\t\t<\/p>\n\t\t\t<p>\n\t\t\t\t<strong>Janel:<\/strong>\u00a0 Very much so.\u00a0 It was neat because I think it actually became something that we adapted as kids.\u00a0 It\u2019s kind of a\u2014really, a family story that\u2019s slightly embarrassing; but I\u2019ll let you guys in on it since I\u2019m here on the radio and everyone\u2019s listening.\n\t\t\t<\/p>\n\t\t\t<p>\n\t\t\t\t<strong>Dennis:<\/strong>\u00a0 Well, we\u2019ve already shared about our red tinsel thing.\u00a0 \n\t\t\t<\/p>\n\t\t\t<p>\n\t\t\t\t<strong>Janel:<\/strong>\u00a0 Yes.\u00a0 Yes.\n\t\t\t<\/p>\n\t\t\t<p>\n\t\t\t\t<strong>Dennis:<\/strong>\u00a0 Can\u2019t be much worse than that.\u00a0 \n\t\t\t<\/p>\n\t\t\t<p>\n\t\t\t\t<strong>Janel:<\/strong>\u00a0 Well, you know I\u2019m a first-born.\u00a0 I was slightly\u2014no, not slightly\u2014I was nerdy.\u00a0 I was very gregarious and creative.\u00a0 So, every year we would put on the Christmas play for my parents\u2014just the kids and I\u2014\n\t\t\t<\/p>\n\t\t\t<p>\n\t\t\t\t<strong>Dennis:<\/strong>\u00a0 Oh, yes.\n\t\t\t<\/p>\n\t\t\t<p>\n\t\t\t\t<strong>Janel:<\/strong>\u00a0 You know my sisters and I\u2014I have three sisters.\u00a0 There is one sister, who to this day, insists that every year I made her the donkey.\u00a0 I promise, she was not the donkey every year.\u00a0 She was Joseph at least one year.\u00a0 (Laughter)\n\t\t\t<\/p>\n\t\t\t<p>\n\t\t\t\tSo, we would read the story from Luke 2 or different Gospels, and things like that, sing songs, and things like that\u2014put on a full-scale production <em>with music<\/em> for my parents.\u00a0 So, yes, this was something that they started doing, and we quickly adapted\u2014even when we were\u2014I\u2019m not going to tell you how old I was because I might get embarrassed.\n\t\t\t<\/p>\n\t\t\t<p>\n\t\t\t\t<strong>Dennis:<\/strong>\u00a0 Barbara\u2014\n\t\t\t<\/p>\n\t\t\t<p>\n\t\t\t\t<strong>Barbara:<\/strong>\u00a0 I want to know if you charged your parents.\u00a0 (Laughter)\n\t\t\t<\/p>\n\t\t\t<p>\n\t\t\t\t<strong>Janel:<\/strong>\u00a0 No.\n\t\t\t<\/p>\n\t\t\t<p>\n\t\t\t\t<strong>Dennis:<\/strong>\u00a0 Our kids\u2014\n\t\t\t<\/p>\n\t\t\t<p>\n\t\t\t\t<strong>Barbara:<\/strong>\u00a0 Our kids\u2014 \n\t\t\t<\/p>\n\t\t\t<p>\n\t\t\t\t<strong>Dennis:<\/strong>\u00a0 Our kids charged us.\n\t\t\t<\/p>\n\t\t\t<p>\n\t\t\t\t<strong>Barbara:<\/strong>\u00a0 \u2014when they did the Christmas play, they charged us 25 cents each to watch.\n\t\t\t<\/p>\n\t\t\t<p>\n\t\t\t\t<strong>Janel:<\/strong>\u00a0 You know, I really\u2014that makes me sad that I did not\u2014I was not that entrepreneurial because I really should have capitalized on that.\u00a0 \n\t\t\t<\/p>\n\t\t\t<p>\n\t\t\t\t<strong>Barbara:<\/strong>\u00a0 You should have.\u00a0 That\u2019s right, with all that work you put in.\u00a0 \n\t\t\t<\/p>\n\t\t\t<p>\n\t\t\t\t<strong>Bob:<\/strong>\u00a0 Barbara, anybody who knows Janel knows that she\u2019s still kind of a walking VBS waiting to happen; right?\n\t\t\t<\/p>\n\t\t\t<p>\n\t\t\t\t<strong>Barbara:<\/strong>\u00a0 Yes.\u00a0 \n\t\t\t<\/p>\n\t\t\t<p>\n\t\t\t\t<strong>Bob:<\/strong>\u00a0 I mean\u2014\n\t\t\t<\/p>\n\t\t\t<p>\n\t\t\t\t<strong>Dennis:<\/strong>\u00a0 Yes; really.\n\t\t\t<\/p>\n\t\t\t<p>\n\t\t\t\t<strong>Bob:<\/strong>\u00a0 She is.\n\t\t\t<\/p>\n\t\t\t<p>\n\t\t\t\t<strong>Dennis:<\/strong>\u00a0 I hadn\u2019t thought about that, Bob, but that\u2019s true.\u00a0 \n\t\t\t<\/p>\n\t\t\t<p>\n\t\t\t\t<strong>Bob:<\/strong>\u00a0 Janel is one of those, \u201cPut her in a room, just add water, and VBS will materialize.\u201d\n\t\t\t<\/p>\n\t\t\t<p>\n\t\t\t\t<strong>Dennis:<\/strong>\u00a0 Some of our listeners don\u2019t know what VBS is.\n\t\t\t<\/p>\n\t\t\t<p>\n\t\t\t\t<strong>Bob:<\/strong>\u00a0 Vacation Bible School.\u00a0 You <em>love<\/em> being creative with kids and using creativity to disciple kids.\u00a0 I know the very first <em>What God Wants for Christmas<\/em>\u00ae resource that FamilyLife came up with years ago\u2014this was before you had kids that we came up with this resource; right?\n\t\t\t<\/p>\n\t\t\t<p>\n\t\t\t\t<strong>Janel:<\/strong>\u00a0 Yes.\n\t\t\t<\/p>\n\t\t\t<p>\n\t\t\t\t<strong>Bob:<\/strong>\u00a0 When we got a team together this year to reinvent this resource, you were a big contributor to that team.\u00a0 You had a good time doing it; didn\u2019t you?\n\t\t\t<\/p>\n\t\t\t<p>\n\t\t\t\t<strong>Janel:<\/strong>\u00a0 It was really\u2014it was fun.\u00a0 We already had a great resource.\u00a0 So, we were at that interesting spot of really trying to bring it to the next level and make it a home run; but at the same time, not take away the same elements that everyone loved and that had impacted children already.\u00a0 We were getting so much feedback about children coming to Christ through this resource and really interacting with the story.\u00a0 \n\t\t\t<\/p>\n\t\t\t<p>\n\t\t\t\tSpeaking of acting out the Bible story\u2014I know that Barbara said that her kids used to act out Bible stories.\u00a0 It was one of the greatest ways to get them to interact with a Bible story.\u00a0 That\u2019s really one of the real benefits of <em>What God Wants for Christmas<\/em> is because Christmas gets into their hands with this resource.\u00a0 They get to touch it, they get to feel it, they get those sensory experiences.\u00a0 \n\t\t\t<\/p>\n\t\t\t<p>\n\t\t\t\tI read a quote recently that said, \u201cWhat we learn in traditions, growing up in our family; and it really does bring a smile to my face.\u00a0 That\u2019s what we\u2019re trying to do with our kids\u2014help them enjoy from a tactile experience\u2014touching the figurines, seeing the Nativity scene, opening these little boxes.\u00a0 Each one tells a portion of the Christmas story.\u00a0 It\u2019s all a part of <em>What God Wants for Christmas<\/em>.\u00a0 \n\t\t\t<\/p>\n\t\t\t<p>\n\t\t\t\t<strong>Bob:<\/strong>\u00a0 In fact, how would you use this?\u00a0 Or how have you used this with your children?\u00a0 Your oldest is just now seven years old.\n\t\t\t<\/p>\n\t\t\t<p>\n\t\t\t\t<strong>Janel:<\/strong>\u00a0 Yes.\n\t\t\t<\/p>\n\t\t\t<p>\n\t\t\t\t<strong>Bob:<\/strong>\u00a0 Is he even able to engage with\u2014with <em>What God Wants for Christmas,<\/em> or does he just kind of look at and watch what the big kids do?\u00a0 \n\t\t\t<\/p>\n\t\t\t<p>\n\t\t\t\t<strong>Janel:<\/strong>\u00a0 Well, obviously, you\u2019ve got different varying levels of discipleship happening.\u00a0 I think for the two-year-old, he obviously wants to touch, touch, touch.\u00a0 They\u2019re such tactile learners at this phase.\u00a0 You can watch by the way two-year-olds eat their food; you can tell they are tactile learners\u2014the fact that they love sandboxes and they love water\u2014you can take a product like this (even though, you\u2019ll see on the box, \u201cIt\u2019s not intended for children under three\u201d).\u00a0 \n\t\t\t<\/p>\n\t\t\t<p>\n\t\t\t\tYes.\u00a0 I think from two-year-old, all the way up to seven-year-olds, who can understand so much more of the Christmas story, and they\u2019re starting to just barely to get on the abstract level of thinking\u2014and think, \u201cWow!\u00a0 This is different from the myth of Santa Claus.\u00a0 This is different from the myths I experience of Frosty the Snowman, Rudolph the Red-Nosed Reindeer that I\u2019ll see on the Christmas specials on TV.\u00a0 \n\t\t\t<\/p>\n\t\t\t<p>\n\t\t\t\t\u201cThis is something that really happened.\u00a0 This was a real person.\u00a0 Mary was engaged\u2014she was giggling with her friends.\u00a0 This shepherd boy could have been a child, not much older than I was.\u201d\u00a0 So, I can step into where they are at.\u00a0 They\u2019re able to assume roles, just like we can see them doing role playing, doing a play in your living room.\u00a0 They can experience that through this resource.\n\t\t\t<\/p>\n\t\t\t<p>\n\t\t\t\t<strong>Bob:<\/strong>\u00a0 All through the book, and in the poem, you start pointing a child to that last box\u2014\n\t\t\t<\/p>\n\t\t\t<p>\n\t\t\t\t<strong>Barbara:<\/strong>\u00a0 That\u2019s right.\n\t\t\t<\/p>\n\t\t\t<p>\n\t\t\t\t<strong>Bob:<\/strong>\u00a0 \u2014box number seven.\u00a0 One of the great things about <em>What God Wants for Christmas<\/em> is that it doesn\u2019t just tell the Christmas story, but it applies the Christmas story.\u00a0 Box number seven is where what happened in Bethlehem makes sense to you today and enters into your life.\u00a0 I don\u2019t want to give away the secret, although some of our listeners may have an idea what\u2019s in box number seven.\u00a0 \n\t\t\t<\/p>\n\t\t\t<p>\n\t\t\t\tMany of our listeners have used <em>What God Wants for Christmas<\/em> in years past; so, they know what we do.\u00a0 The point of box number seven is so that a child can see this is not just a story that happened in history.\u00a0 This is a story that has implications for your life, and what God wants for Christmas is what we should be focused on every year at Christmastime.\n\t\t\t<\/p>\n\t\t\t<p>\n\t\t\t\t<strong>Barbara:<\/strong>\u00a0 Exactly.\u00a0 So much of our thinking during the Christmas holiday is about gifts anyway\u2014what we\u2019re going to give to certain people.\u00a0 Kids think about what they maybe are going to get.\u00a0 That\u2019s what makes this so unique and wonderful is it helps take that thinking that we\u2019re already all wrapped up in anyway\u2014of gift giving.\u00a0 It applies it to God.\u00a0 \n\t\t\t<\/p>\n\t\t\t<p>\n\t\t\t\tWe look and say, \u201cWell, what does God want?\u201d\u00a0 He was the One who gave the first Christmas gift on that first Christmas day.\u00a0 What is it that God wants back from us?\u00a0 That\u2019s what this story is all about.\u00a0 \n\t\t\t<\/p>\n\t\t\t<p>\n\t\t\t\t<strong>Bob:<\/strong>\u00a0 Well, it just so happens that you have your [Janel\u2019s] oldest child with you today as you\u2019ve come in here to be on like the angel, Gabriel, tells Mary that she is going to have a baby.\u00a0 Then, he goes to Joseph.\u00a0 They both meet each other, and they head for Nazareth.\u00a0 \n\t\t\t<\/p>\n\t\t\t<p>\n\t\t\t\t<strong>Dennis:<\/strong><strong>\u00a0 <\/strong>Yes, that\u2019s good.\n\t\t\t<\/p>\n\t\t\t<p>\n\t\t\t\t<strong>Baden:<\/strong><strong>\u00a0 <\/strong>Then, they arrive.\u00a0 Then, they ask the guy who owns the place; and, \u201cI have no more room for you.\u201d\u00a0\u00a0 It\u2019s like, \u201cActually, I do have some room for you in a stable.\u201d\u00a0 So, they go to the stable; and, you know like, she has the baby; and, you know, the shepherds come along; then, the wise men.\u00a0 Then, they escape from Herod to Egypt.\u00a0 Then when Herod dies, they just like come right back.\u00a0 \n\t\t\t<\/p>\n\t\t\t<p>\n\t\t\t\t<strong>Bob:<\/strong>\u00a0 I think you could keep going\u2014\n\t\t\t<\/p>\n\t\t\t<p>\n\t\t\t\t<strong>Dennis:<\/strong>\u00a0 time when we had a guest here on <em>FamilyLife Today<\/em>.\u00a0 Bob, I believe it was a friend of ours by the name of Libby, who brought her grandson.\u00a0 He had gone through Resurrection Eggs\u00ae and hadn\u2019t been through them in almost a year, and we pulled them out.\u00a0 He remembered everyone of what the 12 eggs represented.\n\t\t\t<\/p>\n\t\t\t<p>\n\t\t\t\t<strong>Bob:<\/strong>\u00a0 He was four years old.\n\t\t\t<\/p>\n\t\t\t<p>\n\t\t\t\t<strong>Barbara:<\/strong>\u00a0 Wow!\n\t\t\t<\/p>\n\t\t\t<p>\n\t\t\t\t<strong>Dennis:<\/strong>\u00a0 Baden, you\u2019ve done the same thing here.\u00a0 You\u2019ve totally shared the story of Christmas, just by looking at the you\u2019re the oldest one in your family\u2014\n\t\t\t<\/p>\n\t\t\t<p>\n\t\t\t\t<strong>Baden:<\/strong>\u00a0 Yes.\n\t\t\t<\/p>\n\t\t\t<p>\n\t\t\t\t<strong>Bob:<\/strong>\u00a0 \u2014I think this year with <em>What God Wants for Christmas<\/em>, you should be the one to tell your brothers and sisters the story.\u00a0 When you open the boxes, you need to teach them and explain to them what the angel was all about, and about Mary and Joseph\u2014just like you did for us.\u00a0 Can you do that?\n\t\t\t<\/p>\n\t\t\t<p>\n\t\t\t\t<strong>Baden:<\/strong>\u00a0 Yes.\u00a0 I think you can.\n\t\t\t<\/p>\n\t\t\t<p>\n\t\t\t\t<strong>Bob:<\/strong>\u00a0 Yes.\u00a0 Well\u2014\n\t\t\t<\/p>\n\t\t\t<p>\n\t\t\t\t<strong>Dennis:<\/strong>\u00a0 I think he can, too.\n\t\t\t<\/p>\n\t\t\t<p>\n\t\t\t\t<strong>Bob:<\/strong>\u00a0 \u2014we\u2019ll look forward to hearing that.\u00a0 Janel, you\u2019ve read parts of the poem to your kids; but you\u2019ve been
