I will rejoice and be glad in it.\u201d\n\t\t\t<\/p>\n\t\t\t<p>\n\t\t\t\t<strong>Kay:<\/strong><strong>\u00a0 <\/strong>No, that\u2019s out of context.\n\t\t\t<\/p>\n\t\t\t<p>\n\t\t\t\t(Everyone laughs)\n\t\t\t<\/p>\n\t\t\t<p>\n\t\t\t\t<strong>Kay:<\/strong>\u00a0 That refers to the crucifixion anyway.\n\t\t\t<\/p>\n\t\t\t<p>\n\t\t\t\t<strong>\u00a0<\/strong>\n\t\t\t<\/p>\n\t\t\t<p>\n\t\t\t\t(Everyone laughs)\n\t\t\t<\/p>\n\t\t\t<p>\n\t\t\t\t<strong>\u00a0<\/strong>\n\t\t\t<\/p>\n\t\t\t<p>\n\t\t\t\t<strong>Bob:<\/strong><strong>\u00a0 <\/strong>Ok, I\u2019m done.\u00a0 I\u2019m unusual about our broadcast today, Bob.\u00a0 \n\t\t\t<\/p>\n\t\t\t<p>\n\t\t\t\t<strong>Bob:<\/strong>\u00a0 That\u2019s right\n\t\t\t<\/p>\n\t\t\t<p>\n\t\t\t\t<strong>Dennis:<\/strong>\u00a0 We have a live studio audience.\u00a0 In fact, in 18 years of doing broadcast have we ever had a guest that caused us to have to move out of the studio and hold this in an athletic stadium?\n\t\t\t<\/p>\n\t\t\t<p>\n\t\t\t\t(laughter)\n\t\t\t<\/p>\n\t\t\t<p>\n\t\t\t\t<strong>Bob:<\/strong><strong>\u00a0 <\/strong>This is like a promise keepers for women.\n\t\t\t<\/p>\n\t\t\t<p>\n\t\t\t\t<strong>\u00a0<\/strong>\n\t\t\t<\/p>\n\t\t\t<p>\n\t\t\t\t<strong>Dennis: <\/strong>It is.\u00a0 Kay Arthur joins us on <em>FamilyLife Today<\/em>.\u00a0 Kay, welcome back and thanks for your friends that you\u2019ve brought along here.\n\t\t\t<\/p>\n\t\t\t<p>\n\t\t\t\t<strong>\u00a0<\/strong>\n\t\t\t<\/p>\n\t\t\t<p>\n\t\t\t\t<strong>Kay:<\/strong>\u00a0 I am so proud of them.\u00a0 Because, they are hungering and thirsting after righteousness and they know where to get it, and that is by going to God\u2019s word and discovering truth for themselves through the inductive method.\u00a0 So, I\u2019m proud of them.\n\t\t\t<\/p>\n\t\t\t<p>\n\t\t\t\t<strong>Dennis:<\/strong>\u00a0 Well, we\u2019ve got a good audience here, and you\u2019ll be hearing from them a little bit later on, undoubtedly.\u00a0 Kay hosts her own radio program, <em>Precepts for Life<\/em>, she\u2019s written over a hundred books and Bible studies for adults and children.\n\t\t\t<\/p>\n\t\t\t<p>\n\t\t\t\t<strong>Bob:<\/strong><strong>\u00a0 <\/strong>That makes you a slacker doesn\u2019t it?\n\t\t\t<\/p>\n\t\t\t<p>\n\t\t\t\t<strong>\u00a0<\/strong>\n\t\t\t<\/p>\n\t\t\t<p>\n\t\t\t\t<strong>Dennis: <\/strong>It does.\u00a0 I\u2019m lazy.\u00a0 She is loved by millions across the country, but on the front row is my wife Barbara who loves Kay Arthur, and my daughter Ashley, who both are big cheerleaders for Precept Ministries, so I welcome them to the broadcast too; even though we\u2019re not going to give them a microphone right away.\n\t\t\t<\/p>\n\t\t\t<p>\n\t\t\t\t<strong>\u00a0<\/strong>\n\t\t\t<\/p>\n\t\t\t<p>\n\t\t\t\tKay, you\u2019ve written a book <em>When the Hurt Runs Deep<\/em>, and I was reflecting back as I was digging through your book, of how I started life, and how simplistic I was in my thinking.\u00a0 I was na\u00efve, not really anticipating that life\u2019s got some mountaintops, but it has some deep, dark valleys.\n\t\t\t<\/p>\n\t\t\t<p>\n\t\t\t\t<strong>\u00a0<\/strong>\n\t\t\t<\/p>\n\t\t\t<p>\n\t\t\t\t<strong>Kay:<\/strong>\u00a0 I think I\u2019ve never seen the hurt run deeper in the United States of America, than it\u2019s running now.\u00a0 This is why I\u2019m so thankful for FamilyLife, because I think it goes back to the family to the roles, to the fact that we\u2019ve abandoned God\u2019s principles and precepts.\n\t\t\t<\/p>\n\t\t\t<p>\n\t\t\t\tYou know we ate of the fruit of the Tree of the Knowledge of Good and Evil, and we think we know it all, and we think we\u2019re smarter than God.\u00a0 So, the pain is almost, in a sense, incomprehensible.\u00a0 We know that our brothers and sisters are being martyred overseas.\u00a0 We\u2019ve had one that\u2019s been beheaded, another one that\u2019s been shot.\u00a0 I don\u2019t mean to sound lightly.\u00a0 It\u2019s a quick pain that puts you in the presence of God.\u00a0 But, what about the pain that you suffer that is not torture, but tortures your soul, and you keep living?\u00a0 How do you live?\u00a0 How do you handle life when the hurt runs deep?\u00a0 \n\t\t\t<\/p>\n\t\t\t<p>\n\t\t\t\tPeople say, \u201cIs my life going to be ruined?\u201d\u00a0 Am I going to forever be distorted as a human being because of what was done to me by whomever?\u00a0 Or what was said about me.\u00a0 I really believe with all my being that there really is healing.\u00a0 He sent His word and healed them and delivered them from all their distresses.\n\t\t\t<\/p>\n\t\t\t<p>\n\t\t\t\t<strong>Dennis:<\/strong>\u00a0 You begin your book with a story of a little girl who grew up in a pastor\u2019s home.\u00a0 Certainly, not all of our listeners are going to be able to identify with what happened to this little girl.\u00a0 But, evil does\u2014not only exist but\u2014it preys upon individuals, upon marriages, upon families today and this little girl was an illustration of what you\u2019re talking about.\n\t\t\t<\/p>\n\t\t\t<p>\n\t\t\t\t<strong>Kay:<\/strong>\u00a0 Right.\u00a0 She was sexually abused by her father, who was a pastor.\u00a0 I think it\u2019s one out of four women that are sexually abused, and then there\u2019s a whole host of men that are sexually abused, but they haven\u2019t said it.\u00a0 I have someone very close to me and I never knew it, but he was molested also.\n\t\t\t<\/p>\n\t\t\t<p>\n\t\t\t\t<strong>Bob:<\/strong><strong>\u00a0 <\/strong>Of course, the question comes up when that happens.\u00a0 Here is a helpless child who is unable to, maybe even know what\u2019s being done to him or her, so we ask, \u201cWhere is God in the midst of that?\u201d\u00a0 \n\t\t\t<\/p>\n\t\t\t<p>\n\t\t\t\t<strong>Kay: <\/strong>Exactly.\n\t\t\t<\/p>\n\t\t\t<p>\n\t\t\t\t<strong>Bob:<\/strong><strong>\u00a0 <\/strong>I read one pastor who says, \u201cWell, God doesn\u2019t know those things are going to happen.\u00a0 Or, God is somehow not able\u2026\u201d\u00a0 You understand the dilemma that comes up in our heart and mind when we ask, \u201cHow could a good God sanction or allow this to happen in the life of a child?\u201d\n\t\t\t<\/p>\n\t\t\t<p>\n\t\t\t\t<strong>\u00a0<\/strong>\n\t\t\t<\/p>\n\t\t\t<p>\n\t\t\t\t<strong>Kay:<\/strong><strong>\u00a0 <\/strong>I think one of the problems in Christendom today is that we don\u2019t know our God.\u00a0 Daniel 11: 32b says \u201cThe people who know their God will be able to stand firm and take action.\u201d\u00a0 We don\u2019t know Him because we don\u2019t know the Old Testament.\u00a0 That\u2019s where God introduces Himself.\u00a0 From the very beginning, He establishes His first breath.\u00a0 \u201cBecause, the Word of God are the words of God that came out of His mouth.\u00a0 They\u2019re not of man\u2019s devising,\u201d as 2 Peter says.\u00a0 \n\t\t\t<\/p>\n\t\t\t<p>\n\t\t\t\tFrom His very first breath he tells us, \u201cIn the beginning, God created the heavens and the earth.\u201d\u00a0 All the way through the Old Testament, He\u2019s going to turn to Israel over and over again and say, like in Jeremiah 32, \u201cBehold I am the Lord, the creator of the heavens and the earth.\u00a0 Is anything too difficult for me?\u201d \n\t\t\t<\/p>\n\t\t\t<p>\n\t\t\t\tSo, what I do is I go back and I begin to build my knowledge of God.\u00a0 Let\u2019s just jump to Isaiah where He says, \u201cI am the Lord and there is no other.\u00a0 I create good and I create adversity.\u00a0 I Am the Lord who does all these things.\u201d\u00a0 So if I know he creates adversity, I go back\u2014I should have picked up Deuteronomy first\u2014He says, \u201cI am the Lord, I wound, I heal, I kill, I make alive.\u201d\u00a0\u00a0 Oh!\u00a0 You wound?\u00a0 What kind of a God are you if you wound?\u00a0 So we don\u2019t have the whole picture of God.\n\t\t\t<\/p>\n\t\t\t<p>\n\t\t\t\tJack and I have been through things that we never in our wildest dreams dreamed that we would go through.\u00a0 I\u2019ve shared some of them, but I can\u2019t share all of them.\u00a0 It\u2019s nothing between Jack and myself as a husband and wife, because we are devoted to the Lord, and because we are devoted to the Lord, we are devoted to one another.\u00a0 \n\t\t\t<\/p>\n\t\t\t<p>\n\t\t\t\tBut, the thing is that when you look at these situations and this man saying \u201cGod didn\u2019t know.\u201d\u00a0 Good grief!\u00a0 If God didn\u2019t know, I\u2019m in trouble.\n\t\t\t<\/p>\n\t\t\t<p>\n\t\t\t\t<strong>\u00a0<\/strong>\n\t\t\t<\/p>\n\t\t\t<p>\n\t\t\t\t<strong>Dennis:<\/strong>\u00a0 Well, hopelessness abounds.\n\t\t\t<\/p>\n\t\t\t<p>\n\t\t\t\t<strong>Kay:<\/strong>\u00a0 Yes, hopelessness abounds, God got blindsided by man whom He created\u2026\n\t\t\t<\/p>\n\t\t\t<p>\n\t\t\t\t<strong>Dennis:<\/strong>\u00a0 And, He\u2019s not ultimately God.\n\t\t\t<\/p>\n\t\t\t<p>\n\t\t\t\t<strong>Kay:<\/strong>\u00a0 And He\u2019s not ultimately God.\u00a0 But if I understand that what this life is, it is an introduction to eternity. It is a time when God is shaping me, molding me, conforming me to the image of His Son.\u00a0 And Jesus, although He was a son, Hebrews tells us, learned obedience through the things which He suffered.\n\t\t\t<\/p>\n\t\t\t<p>\n\t\t\t\tSee, in our mind we can\u2019t think of suffering as redemptive.\u00a0 In fact, a lot of the teaching in Christianity, which distresses me, is more therapeutic than it is redemptive.\u00a0 We just want our problems solved.\u00a0 \u201cJust give me a band-aid, if you have to, do surgery.\u00a0 But please do it under a good anesthetic.\u201d\u00a0 \n\t\t\t<\/p>\n\t\t\t<p>\n\t\t\t\tBut we don\u2019t see that suffering is really what makes us\u2026\u00a0\u00a0 So many people have said to me, \u201c\u2026but I wouldn\u2019t have traded what I\u2019m going through for anything\u201d because of what they learned about God.\n\t\t\t<\/p>\n\t\t\t<p>\n\t\t\t\t<strong>Dennis:<\/strong><strong>\u00a0 <\/strong>You know, Kay the older I get, the more I realize that the circumstances that God allows in my life, and Barbara\u2019s life, and our family, it seems as though He is weaning us from life here.\n\t\t\t<\/p>\n\t\t\t<p>\n\t\t\t\t<strong>\u00a0<\/strong>\n\t\t\t<\/p>\n\t\t\t<p>\n\t\t\t\t<strong>Kay:<\/strong><strong>\u00a0 <\/strong>Exactly!\n\t\t\t<\/p>\n\t\t\t<p>\n\t\t\t\t<strong>\u00a0<\/strong>\n\t\t\t<\/p>\n\t\t\t<p>\n\t\t\t\t<strong>Dennis<\/strong>:\u00a0 Creating within us the hope for the perfect and the place where there will be no tears.\n\t\t\t<\/p>\n\t\t\t<p>\n\t\t\t\t<strong>\u00a0<\/strong>\n\t\t\t<\/p>\n\t\t\t<p>\n\t\t\t\t<strong>Kay:<\/strong><strong>\u00a0 <\/strong>Exactly!\u00a0 While we look, not at the things that are seen, because they are temporal, so when I\u2019m going through any hurt, I need to remember that God is sovereign, that what I\u2019m going through is temporal, that it is under the promise that all-mighty, omnipotent, omniscient, etcetera, God is going to take that and He is going to weave it and mold it together for my good, and His glory to make me more like Jesus so that when I die, and I\u2019m absent from this body, and I stand before the Lord, I\u2019m not ashamed.\n\t\t\t<\/p>\n\t\t\t<p>\n\t\t\t\tI\u2019m not ashamed.\u00a0 And, I hear His \u201cWell done.\u201d\u00a0 Because this temporal thing is producing an eternal weight of glory.\u00a0 We think life ends with death, it begins.\u00a0 Because we\u2019re going to come back down here. We\u2019re going to live on the face of this earth.\u00a0 We\u2019re going to rule and reign with Jesus Christ according to our faithfulness.\u00a0 According to what I did with the talents and the gifts that God gave me.\u00a0 \n\t\t\t<\/p>\n\t\t\t<p>\n\t\t\t\tLike you say, I want to remember that this is temporal.\u00a0 What we do in <em>When the Hurt Runs Deep<\/em>, is show you the sovereignty of God.\u00a0 We look at the character of God, but then we look at, \u201cWhat do I do?\u201d\u00a0 I think there are so many Christians that are in the hospital when they need to check out and get on the mission field, so to speak.\u00a0 \n\t\t\t<\/p>\n\t\t\t<p>\n\t\t\t\tIn other words, they\u2019re sitting in the hospital, and they just want to be waited on, and they just want their pills, they just want their numbing, their food served to them.\u00a0 They want to stay in a hospital and everybody come and visit. Bring flowers, and bring sympathy.\u00a0 It\u2019s time to get well, and get out and get about the Lord\u2019s business.\n\t\t\t<\/p>\n\t\t\t<p>\n\t\t\t\t<strong>Dennis:<\/strong>\u00a0 Well, here\u2019s the deal, you\u2019re never going to get well till you get to Heaven.\u00a0 So, if you\u2019re waiting in the hospital to get well, before you get on the field and get in the battle, you\u2019re going to be waiting for eternity.\u00a0 That\u2019s not why God made us.\u00a0 He made us so that even in our broken state, we can be a reflection of who He is, and His love.\u00a0 The gospel and what he came to do and redeem people.\u00a0 \n\t\t\t<\/p>\n\t\t\t<p>\n\t\t\t\tIt\u2019s one of the reasons why, Kay, I\u2019m really excited about one of the things we\u2019re doing here at FamilyLife which is putting tools in the hands of couples who can make a difference in their community.\u00a0 It\u2019s back to what you\u2019re talking about here.\u00a0 A person who is redeemed by God has been given a message and mission to make a difference where they live.\u00a0 If they don\u2019t make a difference where they live, as a country, we\u2019re going to fall apart; we\u2019re going to lose our Christian witness.\n\t\t\t<\/p>\n\t\t\t<p>\n\t\t\t\t<strong>Kay:<\/strong><strong>\u00a0 <\/strong>Exactly.\u00a0 They\u2019ve been given the message, they\u2019ve been given a mission, and they\u2019ve been commissioned.\u00a0 They are commissioned; we are all commissioned by Jesus to make disciples; baptizing them in the name of the Father, the Son, and the Holy Spirit.\u00a0 Introducing them, identifying them with Jesus, and teaching them to observe all things that he has commanded us.\u00a0 So, what you\u2019re doing at FamilyLife is, you are taking the situation of marriage, which is the foundation for society, and then you\u2019re giving them the tools.\u00a0 \n\t\t\t<\/p>\n\t\t\t<p>\n\t\t\t\tBut they can\u2019t just get their own marriage to what it ought to be. They are commissioned by God to take these truths, because what you\u2019re teaching them is biblical principles and precepts that do not change, that say in marriage, \u201cThis may not be all that I want it to be, but I have made a covenant before God.\u00a0 I have made a marriage covenant.\u00a0 And I am to keep that covenant.\u201d\u00a0 And God is the one that superintends and becomes the administrator of all covenants.<br><strong>\u00a0<\/strong>\n\t\t\t<\/p>\n\t\t\t<p>\n\t\t\t\t<strong>Bob:<\/strong>\u00a0 OK, let me take you back though to the person who says, \u201cI hear you say I need to just get out of the hospital.\u00a0 But, I\u2019m dying, I\u2019m in such pain, my soul is in such anguish, that I\u2019ve got to rest, I\u2019ve got to heal.\u00a0 Yes I want to get out of the hospital, but I can\u2019t function.\u201d\n\t\t\t<\/p>\n\t\t\t<p>\n\t\t\t\t<strong>Kay:<\/strong>\u00a0 So then, will you take your medicine?\u00a0 If you want to rest, if you want to heal, will you take your medicine?\u00a0 If you take your medicine, will you believe that it is what God has prescribed and will heal you?\n\t\t\t<\/p>\n\t\t\t<p>\n\t\t\t\t<strong>Bob:<\/strong><strong>\u00a0 <\/strong>What medicine are you saying?\n\t\t\t<\/p>\n\t\t\t<p>\n\t\t\t\t<strong>Kay:<\/strong>\u00a0 Whatever medicine God says.\u00a0 This is the medicine, the Bible is the medicine.\u00a0 So, will you take your medicine, will you stop and will you study God\u2019s word?\u00a0 Will you get face to face with God?\u00a0 Precept Ministries has been raised up to teach people to establish them in the word, to teach them how to discover truth for themselves, so that it\u2019s not secondhand knowledge.\u00a0 So, I know that I know what God said. \n\t\t\t<\/p>\n\t\t\t<p>\n\t\t\t\tThen, will you believe Him?\u00a0 I have a chapter in here on pulling the plug on pain.\u00a0 There is a time when God has said it, God has done it, now are you going to believe it?\u00a0 In Hebrews 3 and 4, he talks about the rest of faith.\u00a0 He talks about how the children of Israel didn\u2019t get their blessings because they did not enter into the land\u2014couldn\u2019t enter into the land because they wouldn\u2019t believe God.\u00a0 \n\t\t\t<\/p>\n\t\t\t<p>\n\t\t\t\tSo, I call the \u201crest of faith.\u201d\u00a0 Here is the word of God on one hand, and in the other hand is the situation you\u2019re in, the pain, whatever you\u2019re in.\u00a0 So what is the rest of faith?\u00a0 The rest of faith is taking the Word of God and applying it to that situation and saying, I\u2019m going to live accordingly, no matter what.\n\t\t\t<\/p>\n\t\t\t<p>\n\t\t\t\tWhen my son called me\u2014because I was going over to take care of his wife and help them around the house.\u00a0 He called me, and I said, \u201cAre you alright?\u201d\u00a0 \n\t\t\t<\/p>\n\t\t\t<p>\n\t\t\t\tHe said, \u201cNot really.\u201d\u00a0 \n\t\t\t<\/p>\n\t\t\t<p>\n\t\t\t\tI said, \u201cWhat\u2019s wrong?\u201d \n\t\t\t<\/p>\n\t\t\t<p>\n\t\t\t\tHe said, \u201cI think Leslie is dead.\u201d\n\t\t\t<\/p>\n\t\t\t<p>\n\t\t\t\tFor the rest of my life, I could weep and live in the pain and the anguish of my son who loved\u2014they had such a good, good marriage\u2014that she is dead, he is left and they have two grown sons and an adopted daughter.\u00a0 I could let my mind go there, I could go to the night before, I could go to what we were going to do, I could say, why didn\u2019t we do this sooner?\u00a0 Why this?\u00a0 Why that?\u00a0 Why?\u00a0 But none of that would cure the situation. \n\t\t\t<\/p>\n\t\t\t<p>\n\t\t\t\tNone of that would bring Leslie back.\u00a0 None of that would ever change.\u00a0 It is done, it is past.\u00a0 He wounds, he heals, he kills, he makes alive.\u00a0 He took her breath from her, and she\u2019s with the Lord, and she would not come back.\u00a0 But, I\u2019ve got to move on.\u00a0 How do I do that?\u00a0 Lord this is who You are, this is what You say.\u00a0 Now I\u2019m going to take this situation, I\u2019m going to put your word to it and I\u2019m going to move on.\u00a0 \n\t\t\t<\/p>\n\t\t\t<p>\n\t\t\t\tI\u2019m not going to collapse in a heap, I\u2019m not going to give up, I\u2019m not going to be angry with God.\u00a0 I\u2019m not going to raise my human, puny fists in the face of God and say, \u201cWhat are you doing?\u201d\u00a0 \u201cWhat doest thou?\u201d\u00a0 Because we don\u2019t say to Him, \u201cWhat doest thou?\u201d\u00a0 He says in Daniel 4 that He does according to His will and the army of Heaven among the inhabitants of the earth, none can stay his hand, and none can say, \u201cWhat are you doing?\u201d\u00a0 \n\t\t\t<\/p>\n\t\t\t<p>\n\t\t\t\tHe\u2019s God.\u00a0 His dominion is forever and ever.\u00a0 So all I have to assume is, He is God, and I am man.\u00a0 He\u2019s eternal, I\u2019m temporal, and so I\u2019m going to believe Him.\u00a0 It is courage.\u00a0 Courage is grabbing a hold of God who\u2019s already got a hold of you, who promises you that He\u2019s going to do whatever you need and it\u2019s getting a hold of Him and not letting go.\u00a0 That\u2019s what courage is.\n\t\t\t<\/p>\n\t\t\t<p>\n\t\t\t\t<strong>\u00a0<\/strong>\n\t\t\t<\/p>\n\t\t\t<p>\n\t\t\t\t<strong>Bob:<\/strong>\u00a0 So, to the woman\u2014we\u2019ll go all the way back to where we started.\n\t\t\t<\/p>\n\t\t\t<p>\n\t\t\t\t<strong>Kay:<\/strong>\u00a0 And the man.\n\t\t\t<\/p>\n\t\t\t<p>\n\t\t\t\t<strong>Bob:<\/strong>\u00a0 The woman and the man who would say to you, \u201cYes, I was sexually abused from the time I was three until I was twelve.\u00a0 The scars of that have been on my soul, they have debilitated me.\u00a0 I\u2019m 40 years old now; I still live with the memory of that.\u00a0 It\u2019s still painful.\u00a0 I still can\u2019t function the way I think I ought to because of that.\u201d\u00a0 What would you tell them to do?\n\t\t\t<\/p>\n\t\t\t<p>\n\t\t\t\t<strong>Kay:<\/strong>\u00a0 You know, in the back of this book in the appendix, there are a few practical helps.\u00a0 In those few practical helps, I take them right through and show them.\u00a0 One of the things I do is I take this woman who has written me on Facebook and says, \u201cIs there ever going to be any healing?\u201d\u00a0 I show her, yes there will be healing.\u00a0 But we want healing without taking our medicine.\u00a0 We want to get in shape without doing our exercise.\u00a0 We want to lose weight without eating properly.\n\t\t\t<\/p>\n\t\t\t<p>\n\t\t\t\tWe want these things, but we don\u2019t want to pay the price.\u00a0 That\u2019s why I am so passionate, that\u2019s why at age 77 I am not stopping, and I don\u2019t intend to stop until God stops me some way or another.\u00a0 And I pray He just takes me home with a grand and glorious heart attack on a platform with thousands.\u00a0 But anyway\u2026\n\t\t\t<\/p>\n\t\t\t<p>\n\t\t\t\t(Crowd laughter.)\n\t\t\t<\/p>\n\t\t\t<p>\n\t\t\t\t<strong>Kay:<\/strong>\u00a0 So we can give an invitation. \n\t\t\t<\/p>\n\t\t\t<p>\n\t\t\t\t(laughter)\n\t\t\t<\/p>\n\t\t\t<p>\n\t\t\t\t<strong>Dennis:<\/strong>\u00a0 But we don\u2019t get to choose that.\n\t\t\t<\/p>\n\t\t\t<p>\n\t\t\t\t<strong>Kay:<\/strong>\u00a0 No, we don\u2019t get to choose that.\u00a0 So, I\u2019m going to be faithful and persevere,\u00a0 because we\u2019ve got to know God.\u00a0 \n\t\t\t<\/p>\n\t\t\t<p>\n\t\t\t\t<strong>Dennis:<\/strong><strong>\u00a0 <\/strong>To that point, in your book you have 12 truths that bring healing and hope to the person who is going through a difficult time.\u00a0 Healing truth number two, you\u2019ve just talked all about it today.\u00a0 \u201cDeep and genuine healing will always be tied to an accurate knowledge of God\u2019s sovereignty and character.\u00a0 \n\t\t\t<\/p>\n\t\t\t<p>\n\t\t\t\t<strong>Kay:<\/strong>\u00a0 Exactly.\n\t\t\t<\/p>\n\t\t\t<p>\n\t\t\t\t<strong>Dennis:<\/strong>\u00a0 The clearer our understanding of who God is, the more profound our healing will be.\u00a0 I know because I\u2019ve been through your book Kay.\u00a0 You\u2019re not saying there isn\u2019t a process to grief that a person doesn\u2019t go through; you\u2019re saying don\u2019t let the loss, the hurt that has been done to you, the evil that\u2019s been perpetrated upon you, define you and limit you with your life.\u00a0 Instead go to the scriptures. Find out who God is. Find out how He addresses broken people who\u2019ve had evil done to them.\u00a0 Bring hope and healing as you take your medicine, and as you apply it to you life. \n\t\t\t<\/p>\n\t\t\t<p>\n\t\t\t\t<strong>Kay:<\/strong>\u00a0 Exactly.\n\t\t\t<\/p>\n\t\t\t<p>\n\t\t\t\t<strong>\u00a0<\/strong>\n\t\t\t<\/p>\n\t\t\t<p>\n\t\t\t\t<strong>Bob:<\/strong>\u00a0 Well, and I think for many people, this is just something we need to be reminded of.\u00a0 They know what the scriptures say, they know it, they know it\u2019s true, but in the midst of the pain, you need somebody to come alongside and say, \u201cRemember who God is.\u00a0 Refresh yourself with what is true, and trust in it.\u201d\u00a0 Kay, in this book, that\u2019s where you point us. to the roles, to the fact that we\u2019ve abandoned God\u2019s principles and precepts.\n\t\t\t<\/p>\n\t\t\t<p>\n\t\t\t\tYou know we ate of the fruit of the Tree of the Knowledge of Good and Evil, and we think we know it all, and we think we\u2019re smarter than God.\u00a0 So, the pain is almost, in a sense, incomprehensible.\u00a0 We know that our brothers and sisters are being martyred overseas.\u00a0 We\u2019ve had one that\u2019s been beheaded, another one that\u2019s been shot.\u00a0 I don\u2019t mean to sound lightly.\u00a0 It\u2019s a quick pain that puts you in the presence of God.\u00a0 But, what about the pain that you suffer that is not torture, but tortures your soul, and you keep living?\u00a0 How do you live?\u00a0 How do you handle life when the hurt runs deep?\u00a0 \n\t\t\t<\/p>\n\t\t\t<p>\n\t\t\t\tPeople say, \u201cIs my life going to be ruined?\u201d\u00a0 Am I going to forever be distorted as a human being because of what was done to me by whomever?\u00a0 Or what was said about me.\u00a0 I really believe with all my being that there really is healing.\u00a0 He sent His word and healed them and delivered them from all their distresses.\n\t\t\t<\/p>\n\t\t\t<p>\n\t\t\t\t<strong>Dennis:<\/strong>\u00a0 You begin your book with a story of a little girl who grew up in a pastor\u2019s home.\u00a0 Certainly, not all of our listeners are going to be able to identify with what happened to this little girl.\u00a0 But, evil does\u2014not only exist but\u2014it preys upon individuals, upon marriages, upon families today and this little girl was an illustration of what you\u2019re talking about.\n\t\t\t<\/p>\n\t\t\t<p>\n\t\t\t\t<strong>Kay:<\/strong>\u00a0 Right.\u00a0 She was sexually abused by her father, who was a pastor.\u00a0 I think it\u2019s one out of four women that are sexually abused, and then there\u2019s a whole host of men that are sexually abused, but they haven\u2019t said it.\u00a0 I have someone very close to me and I never knew it, but he was molested also.\n\t\t\t<\/p>\n\t\t\t<p>\n\t\t\t\t<strong>Bob:<\/strong><strong>\u00a0 <\/strong>Of course, the question comes up when that happens.\u00a0 Here is a helpless child who is unable to, maybe even know what\u2019s being done to him or her, so we ask, \u201cWhere is God in the midst of that?\u201d\u00a0 \n\t\t\t<\/p>\n\t\t\t<p>\n\t\t\t\t<strong>Kay: <\/strong>Exactly.\n\t\t\t<\/p>\n\t\t\t<p>\n\t\t\t\t<strong>Bob:<\/strong><strong>\u00a0 <\/strong>I read one pastor who says, \u201cWell, God doesn\u2019t know those things are going to happen.\u00a0 Or, God is somehow not able\u2026\u201d\u00a0 You understand the dilemma that comes up in our heart and mind when we ask, \u201cHow could a good God sanction or allow this to happen in the life of a child?\u201d\n\t\t\t<\/p>\n\t\t\t<p>\n\t\t\t\t<strong>\u00a0<\/strong>\n\t\t\t<\/p>\n\t\t\t<p>\n\t\t\t\t<strong>Kay:<\/strong><strong>\u00a0 <\/strong>I think one of the problems in Christendom today is that we don\u2019t know our God.\u00a0 Daniel 11: 32b says \u201cThe people who know their God will be able to stand firm and take action.\u201d\u00a0 We don\u2019t know Him because we don\u2019t know the Old Testament.\u00a0 That\u2019s where God introduces Himself.\u00a0 From the very beginning, He establishes His first breath.\u00a0 \u201cBecause, the Word of God are the words of God that came out of His mouth.\u00a0 They\u2019re not of man\u2019s devising,\u201d as 2 Peter says.\u00a0 \n\t\t\t<\/p>\n\t\t\t<p>\n\t\t\t\tFrom His very first breath he tells us, \u201cIn the beginning, God created the heavens and the earth.\u201d\u00a0 All the way through the Old Testament, He\u2019s going to turn to Israel over and over again and say, like in Jeremiah 32, \u201cBehold I am the Lord, the creator of the heavens and the earth.\u00a0 Is anything too difficult for me?\u201d \n\t\t\t<\/p>\n\t\t\t<p>\n\t\t\t\tSo, what I do is I go back and I begin to build my knowledge of God.\u00a0 Let\u2019s just jump to Isaiah where He says, \u201cI am the Lord and there is no other.\u00a0 I create good and I create adversity.\u00a0 I Am the Lord who does all these things.\u201d\u00a0 So if I know he creates adversity, I go back\u2014I should have picked up Deuteronomy first\u2014He says, \u201cI am the Lord, I wound, I heal, I kill, I make alive.\u201d\u00a0\u00a0 Oh!\u00a0 You wound?\u00a0 What kind of a God are you if you wound?\u00a0 So we don\u2019t have the whole picture of God.\n\t\t\t<\/p>\n\t\t\t<p>\n\t\t\t\tJack and I have been through things that we never in our wildest dreams dreamed that we would go through.\u00a0 I\u2019ve shared some of them, but I can\u2019t share all of them.\u00a0 It\u2019s nothing between Jack and myself as a husband and wife, because we are devoted to the Lord, and because we are devoted to the Lord, we are devoted to one another.\u00a0 \n\t\t\t<\/p>\n\t\t\t<p>\n\t\t\t\tBut, the thing is that when you look at these situations and this man saying \u201cGod didn\u2019t know.\u201d\u00a0 Good grief!\u00a0 If God didn\u2019t know, I\u2019m in trouble.\n\t\t\t<\/p>\n\t\t\t<p>\n\t\t\t\t<strong>\u00a0<\/strong>\n\t\t\t<\/p>\n\t\t\t<p>\n\t\t\t\t<strong>Dennis:<\/strong>\u00a0 Well, hopelessness abounds.\n\t\t\t<\/p>\n\t\t\t<p>\n\t\t\t\t<strong>Kay:<\/strong>\u00a0 Yes, hopelessness abounds, God got blindsided by man whom He created\u2026\n\t\t\t<\/p>\n\t\t\t<p>\n\t\t\t\t<strong>Dennis:<\/strong>\u00a0 And, He\u2019s not ultimately God.\n\t\t\t<\/p>\n\t\t\t<p>\n\t\t\t\t<strong>Kay:<\/strong>\u00a0 And He\u2019s not ultimately God.\u00a0 But if I understand that what this life is, it is an introduction to eternity. It is a time when God is shaping me, molding me, conforming me to the image of His Son.\u00a0 And Jesus, although He was a son, Hebrews tells us, learned obedience through the things which He suffered.\n\t\t\t<\/p>\n\t\t\t<p>\n\t\t\t\tSee, in our mind we can\u2019t think of suffering as redemptive.\u00a0 In fact, a lot of the teaching in Christianity, which distresses me, is more therapeutic than it is redemptive.\u00a0 We just want our problems solved.\u00a0 \u201cJust give me a band-aid, if you have to, do surgery.\u00a0 But please do it under a good anesthetic.\u201d\u00a0 \n\t\t\t<\/p>\n\t\t\t<p>\n\t\t\t\tBut we don\u2019t see that suffering is really what makes us\u2026\u00a0\u00a0 So many people have said to me, \u201c\u2026but I wouldn\u2019t have traded what I\u2019m going through for anything\u201d because of what they learned about God.\n\t\t\t<\/p>\n\t\t\t<p>\n\t\t\t\t<strong>Dennis:<\/strong><strong>\u00a0 <\/strong>You know, Kay the older I get, the more I realize that the circumstances that God allows in my life, and Barbara\u2019s life, and our family, it seems as though He is weaning us from life here.\n\t\t\t<\/p>\n\t\t\t<p>\n\t\t\t\t<strong>\u00a0<\/strong>\n\t\t\t<\/p>\n\t\t\t<p>\n\t\t\t\t<strong>Kay:<\/strong><strong>\u00a0 <\/strong>Exactly!\n\t\t\t<\/p>\n\t\t\t<p>\n\t\t\t\t<strong>\u00a0<\/strong>\n\t\t\t<\/p>\n\t\t\t<p>\n\t\t\t\t<strong>Dennis<\/strong>:\u00a0 Creating within us the hope for the perfect and the place where there will be no tears.\n\t\t\t<\/p>\n\t\t\t<p>\n\t\t\t\t<strong>\u00a0<\/strong>\n\t\t\t<\/p>\n\t\t\t<p>\n\t\t\t\t<strong>Kay:<\/strong><strong>\u00a0 <\/strong>Exactly!\u00a0 While we look, not at the things that are seen, because they are temporal, so when I\u2019m going through any hurt, I need to remember that God is sovereign, that what I\u2019m going through is temporal, that it is under the promise that all-mighty, omnipotent, omniscient, etcetera, God is going to take that and He is going to weave it and mold it together for my good, and His glory to make me more like Jesus so that when I die, and I\u2019m absent from this body, and I stand before the Lord, I\u2019m not ashamed.\n\t\t\t<\/p>\n\t\t\t<p>\n\t\t\t\tI\u2019m not ashamed.\u00a0 And, I hear His \u201cWell done.\u201d\u00a0 Because this temporal thing is producing an eternal weight of glory.\u00a0 We think life ends with death, it begins.\u00a0 Because we\u2019re going to come back down here. We\u2019re going to live on the face of this earth.\u00a0 We\u2019re going to rule and reign with Jesus Christ according to our faithfulness.\u00a0 According to what I did with the talents and the gifts that God gave me.\u00a0 \n\t\t\t<\/p>\n\t\t\t<p>\n\t\t\t\tLike you say, I want to remember that this is temporal.\u00a0 What we do in <em>When the Hurt Runs Deep<\/em>, is show you the sovereignty of God.\u00a0 We look at the character of God, but then we look at, \u201cWhat do I do?\u201d\u00a0 I think there are so many Christians that are in the hospital when they need to check out and get on the mission field, so to speak.\u00a0 \n\t\t\t<\/p>\n\t\t\t<p>\n\t\t\t\tIn other words, they\u2019re sitting in the hospital, and they just want to be waited on, and they just want their pills, they just want their numbing, their food served to them.\u00a0 They want to stay in a hospital and everybody come and visit. Bring flowers, and bring sympathy.\u00a0 It\u2019s time to get well, and get out and get about the Lord\u2019s business.\n\t\t\t<\/p>\n\t\t\t<p>\n\t\t\t\t<strong>Dennis:<\/strong>\u00a0 Well, here\u2019s the deal, you\u2019re never going to get well till you get to Heaven.\u00a0 So, if you\u2019re waiting in the hospital to get well, before you get on the field and get in the battle, you\u2019re going to be waiting for eternity.\u00a0 That\u2019s not why God made us.\u00a0 He made us so that even in our broken state, we can be a reflection of who He is, and His love.\u00a0 The gospel and what he came to do and redeem people.\u00a0 \n\t\t\t<\/p>\n\t\t\t<p>\n\t\t\t\tIt\u2019s one of the reasons why, Kay, I\u2019m really excited about one of the things we\u2019re doing here at FamilyLife which is putting tools in the hands of couples who can make a difference in their community.\u00a0 It\u2019s back to what you\u2019re talking about here.\u00a0 A person who is redeemed by God has been given a message and mission to make a difference where they live.\u00a0 If they don\u2019t make a difference where they live, as a country, we\u2019re going to fall apart; we\u2019re going to lose our Christian witness.\n\t\t\t<\/p>\n\t\t\t<p>\n\t\t\t\t<strong>Kay:<\/strong><strong>\u00a0 <\/strong>Exactly.\u00a0 They\u2019ve been given the message, they\u2019ve been given a mission, and they\u2019ve been commissioned.\u00a0 They are commissioned; we are all commissioned by Jesus to make disciples; baptizing them in the name of the Father, the Son, and the Holy Spirit.\u00a0 Introducing them, identifying them with Jesus, and teaching them to observe all things that he has commanded us.\u00a0 So, what you\u2019re doing at FamilyLife is, you are taking the situation of marriage, which is the foundation for society, and then you\u2019re giving them the tools.\u00a0 \n\t\t\t<\/p>\n\t\t\t<p>\n\t\t\t\tBut they can\u2019t just get their own marriage to what it ought to be. They are commissioned by God to take these truths, because what you\u2019re teaching them is biblical principles and precepts that do not change, that say in marriage, \u201cThis may not be all that I want it to be, but I have made a covenant before God.\u00a0 I have made a marriage covenant.\u00a0 And I am to keep that covenant.\u201d\u00a0 And God is the one that superintends and becomes the administrator of all covenants.<br><strong>\u00a0<\/strong>\n\t\t\t<\/p>\n\t\t\t<p>\n\t\t\t\t<strong>Bob:<\/strong>\u00a0 OK, let me take you back though to the person who says, \u201cI hear you say I need to just get out of the hospital.\u00a0 But, I\u2019m dying, I\u2019m in such pain, my soul is in such anguish, that I\u2019ve got to rest, I\u2019ve got to heal.\u00a0 Yes I want to get out of the hospital, but I can\u2019t function.\u201d\n\t\t\t<\/p>\n\t\t\t<p>\n\t\t\t\t<strong>Kay:<\/strong>\u00a0 So then, will you take your medicine?\u00a0 If you want to rest, if you want to heal, will you take your medicine?\u00a0 If you take your medicine, will you believe that it is what God has prescribed and will heal you?\n\t\t\t<\/p>\n\t\t\t<p>\n\t\t\t\t<strong>Bob:<\/strong><strong>\u00a0 <\/strong>What medicine are you saying?\n\t\t\t<\/p>\n\t\t\t<p>\n\t\t\t\t<strong>Kay:<\/strong>\u00a0 Whatever medicine God says.\u00a0 This is the medicine, the Bible is the medicine.\u00a0 So, will you take your medicine, will you stop and will you study God\u2019s word?\u00a0 Will you get face to face with God?\u00a0 Precept Ministries has been raised up to teach people to establish them in the word, to teach them how to discover truth for themselves, so that it\u2019s not secondhand knowledge.\u00a0 So, I know that I know what God said. \n\t\t\t<\/p>\n\t\t\t<p>\n\t\t\t\tThen, will you believe Him?\u00a0 I have a chapter in here on pulling the plug on pain.\u00a0 There is a time when God has said it, God has done it, now are you going to believe it?\u00a0 In Hebrews 3 and 4, he talks about the rest of faith.\u00a0 He talks about how the children of Israel didn\u2019t get their blessings because they did not enter into the land\u2014couldn\u2019t enter into the land because they wouldn\u2019t believe God.\u00a0 \n\t\t\t<\/p>\n\t\t\t<p>\n\t\t\t\tSo, I call the \u201crest of faith.\u201d\u00a0 Here is the word of God on one hand, and in the other hand is the situation you\u2019re in, the pain, whatever you\u2019re in.\u00a0 So what is the rest of faith?\u00a0 The rest of faith is taking the Word of God and applying it to that situation and saying, I\u2019m going to live accordingly, no matter what.\n\t\t\t<\/p>\n\t\t\t<p>\n\t\t\t\tWhen my son called me\u2014because I was going over to take care of his wife and help them around the house.\u00a0 He called me, and I said, \u201cAre you alright?\u201d\u00a0 \n\t\t\t<\/p>\n\t\t\t<p>\n\t\t\t\tHe said, \u201cNot really.\u201d\u00a0 \n\t\t\t<\/p>\n\t\t\t<p>\n\t\t\t\tI said, \u201cWhat\u2019s wrong?\u201d \n\t\t\t<\/p>\n\t\t\t<p>\n\t\t\t\tHe said, \u201cI think Leslie is dead.\u201d\n\t\t\t<\/p>\n\t\t\t<p>\n\t\t\t\tFor the rest of my life, I could weep and live in the pain and the anguish of my son who loved\u2014they had such a good, good marriage\u2014that she is dead, he is left and they have two grown sons and an adopted daughter.\u00a0 I could let my mind go there, I could go to the night before, I could go to what we were going to do, I could say, why didn\u2019t we do this sooner?\u00a0 Why this?\u00a0 Why that?\u00a0 Why?\u00a0 But none of that would cure the situation. \n\t\t\t<\/p>\n\t\t\t<p>\n\t\t\t\tNone of that would bring Leslie back.\u00a0 None of that would ever change.\u00a0 It is done, it is past.\u00a0 He wounds, he heals, he kills, he makes alive.\u00a0 He took her breath from her, and she\u2019s with the Lord, and she would not come back.\u00a0 But, I\u2019ve got to move on.\u00a0 How do I do that?\u00a0 Lord this is who You are, this is what You say.\u00a0 Now I\u2019m going to take this situation, I\u2019m going to put your word to it and I\u2019m going to move on.\u00a0 \n\t\t\t<\/p>\n\t\t\t<p>\n\t\t\t\tI\u2019m not going to collapse in a heap, I\u2019m not going to give up, I\u2019m not going to be angry with God.\u00a0 I\u2019m not going to raise my human, puny fists in the face of God and say, \u201cWhat are you doing?\u201d\u00a0 \u201cWhat doest thou?\u201d\u00a0 Because we don\u2019t say to Him, \u201cWhat doest thou?\u201d\u00a0 He says in Daniel 4 that He does according to His will and the army of Heaven among the inhabitants of the earth, none can stay his hand, and none can say, \u201cWhat are you doing?\u201d\u00a0 \n\t\t\t<\/p>\n\t\t\t<p>\n\t\t\t\tHe\u2019s God.\u00a0 His dominion is forever and ever.\u00a0 So all I have to assume is, He is God, and I am man.\u00a0 He\u2019s eternal, I\u2019m temporal, and so I\u2019m going to believe Him.\u00a0 It is courage.\u00a0 Courage is grabbing a hold of God who\u2019s already got a hold of you, who promises you that He\u2019s going to do whatever you need and it\u2019s getting a hold of Him and not letting go.\u00a0 That\u2019s what courage is.\n\t\t\t<\/p>\n\t\t\t<p>\n\t\t\t\t<strong>\u00a0<\/strong>\n\t\t\t<\/p>\n\t\t\t<p>\n\t\t\t\t<strong>Bob:<\/strong>\u00a0 So, to the woman\u2014we\u2019ll go all the way back to where we started.\n\t\t\t<\/p>\n\t\t\t<p>\n\t\t\t\t<strong>Kay:<\/strong>\u00a0 And the man.\n\t\t\t<\/p>\n\t\t\t<p>\n\t\t\t\t<strong>Bob:<\/strong>\u00a0 The woman and the man who would say to you, \u201cYes, I was sexually abused from the time I was three until I was twelve.\u00a0 The scars of that have been on my soul, they have debilitated me.\u00a0 I\u2019m 40 years old now; I still live with the memory of that.\u00a0 It\u2019s still painful.\u00a0 I still can\u2019t function the way I think I ought to because of that.\u201d\u00a0 What would you tell them to do?\n\t\t\t<\/p>\n\t\t\t<p>\n\t\t\t\t<strong>Kay:<\/strong>\u00a0 You know, in the back of this book in the appendix, there are a few practical helps.\u00a0 In those few practical helps, I take them right through and show them.\u00a0 One of the things I do is I take this woman who has written me on Facebook and says, \u201cIs there ever going to be any healing?\u201d\u00a0 I show her, yes there will be healing.\u00a0 But we want healing without taking our medicine.\u00a0 We want to get in shape without doing our exercise.\u00a0 We want to lose weight without eating properly.\n\t\t\t<\/p>\n\t\t\t<p>\n\t\t\t\tWe want these things, but we don\u2019t want to pay the price.\u00a0 That\u2019s why I am so passionate, that\u2019s why at age 77 I am not stopping, and I don\u2019t intend to stop until God stops me some way or another.\u00a0 And I pray He just takes me home with a grand and glorious heart attack on a platform with thousands.\u00a0 But anyway\u2026\n\t\t\t<\/p>\n\t\t\t<p>\n\t\t\t\t(Crowd laughter.)\n\t\t\t<\/p>\n\t\t\t<p>\n\t\t\t\t<strong>Kay:<\/strong>\u00a0 So we can give an invitation. \n\t\t\t<\/p>\n\t\t\t<p>\n\t\t\t\t(laughter)\n\t\t\t<\/p>\n\t\t\t<p>\n\t\t\t\t<strong>Dennis:<\/strong>\u00a0 But we don\u2019t get to choose that.\n\t\t\t<\/p>\n\t\t\t<p>\n\t\t\t\t<strong>Kay:<\/strong>\u00a0 No, we don\u2019t get to choose that.\u00a0 So, I\u2019m going to be faithful and persevere,\u00a0 because we\u2019ve got to know God.\u00a0 \n\t\t\t<\/p>\n\t\t\t<p>\n\t\t\t\t<strong>Dennis:<\/strong><strong>\u00a0 <\/strong>To that point, in your book you have 12 truths that bring healing and hope to the person who is going through a difficult time.\u00a0 Healing truth number two, you\u2019ve just talked all about it today.\u00a0 \u201cDeep and genuine healing will always be tied to an accurate knowledge of God\u2019s sovereignty and character.\u00a0 \n\t\t\t<\/p>\n\t\t\t<p>\n\t\t\t\t<strong>Kay:<\/strong>\u00a0 Exactly.\n\t\t\t<\/p>\n\t\t\t<p>\n\t\t\t\t<strong>Dennis:<\/strong>\u00a0 The clearer our understanding of who God is, the more profound our healing will be.\u00a0 I know because I\u2019ve been through your book Kay.\u00a0 You\u2019re not saying there isn\u2019t a process to grief that a person doesn\u2019t go through; you\u2019re saying don\u2019t let the loss, the hurt that has been done to you, the evil that\u2019s been perpetrated upon you, define you and limit you with your life.\u00a0 Instead go to the scriptures. Find out who God is. Find out how He addresses broken people who\u2019ve had evil done to them.\u00a0 Bring hope and healing as you take your medicine, and as you apply it to you life. \n\t\t\t<\/p>\n\t\t\t<p>\n\t\t\t\t<strong>Kay:<\/strong>\u00a0 Exactly.\n\t\t\t<\/p>\n\t\t\t<p>\n\t\t\t\t<strong>\u00a0<\/strong>\n\t\t\t<\/p>\n\t\t\t<p>\n\t\t\t\t<strong>Bob:<\/strong>\u00a0 Well, and I think for many people, this is just something we need to be reminded of.\u00a0 They know what the scriptures say, they know it, they know it\u2019s true, but in the midst of the pain, you need somebody to come alongside and say, \u201cRemember who God is.\u00a0 Refresh yourself with what is true, and trust in it.\u201d\u00a0 Kay, in this book, that\u2019s where you point us.
