\u201cThat\u2019s the responsibility of the pastor.\u201d\u00a0 Those all play a part, but it is my job.\u00a0 It is my responsibility to dig into the Word of God.\u00a0 Here\u2019s the thing:\u00a0 I know that if my kids see me excited about the Word of God, about theology, about my walk\u2014guess what\u2014they\u2019re excited.\u00a0 \n\t\t\t<\/p>\n\t\t\t<p>\n\t\t\t\t<strong>Bob:<\/strong>\u00a0 This is <em>FamilyLife Today<\/em> for Tuesday, May 25<sup>th<\/sup>.\u00a0 Our host is the President of <em>FamilyLife <\/em>Dennis Rainey, and I\u2019m Bob Lepine.\u00a0 We are going to talk today about how we can utilize technology to do a better job of bringing up our children in the instruction of the Lord.\n\t\t\t<\/p>\n\t\t\t<p>\n\t\t\t\tWelcome to <em>FamilyLife Today<\/em>; thanks for joining us.\u00a0 We have been talking about studying the Bible and getting the right interpretation.\u00a0 I don\u2019t know\u2014I think I have shared with you that my daughter Katie one time told me what her life verse was from the Bible.\u00a0 Do you remember this?\u00a0 She said it is from Proverbs 6:\u00a0 \u201cA little slumber, a little sleep, a little folding of the hands to rest.\u201d\u00a0 And I said\u2026\n\t\t\t<\/p>\n\t\t\t<p>\n\t\t\t\t<strong>Dennis:<\/strong><strong>\u00a0 <\/strong>Was that when she was in college?\n\t\t\t<\/p>\n\t\t\t<p>\n\t\t\t\t<strong>Bob:<\/strong><strong>\u00a0 <\/strong>It was when she was in high school.\n\t\t\t<\/p>\n\t\t\t<p>\n\t\t\t\t<strong>Dennis:<\/strong><strong>\u00a0 <\/strong>Oh, okay.\n\t\t\t<\/p>\n\t\t\t<p>\n\t\t\t\t<strong>Bob:<\/strong><strong>\u00a0 <\/strong>I said to her, \u201cWell, Sweetheart, that\u2019s a great verse, but the next verse says, \u201cAnd disaster will come upon you.\u201d\u00a0 She said, \u201cI don\u2019t like that verse.\u201d\u00a0 \n\t\t\t<\/p>\n\t\t\t<p>\n\t\t\t\t(laughter)\u00a0 \n\t\t\t<\/p>\n\t\t\t<p>\n\t\t\t\tI just like the first one.\n\t\t\t<\/p>\n\t\t\t<p>\n\t\t\t\t<strong>Dennis:<\/strong><strong>\u00a0 <\/strong>I memorized that verse when I was in college.\u00a0 \n\t\t\t<\/p>\n\t\t\t<p>\n\t\t\t\t(laughter)\u00a0 \n\t\t\t<\/p>\n\t\t\t<p>\n\t\t\t\tI\u2019m convinced my diploma exists because of the second verse.\u00a0 \n\t\t\t<\/p>\n\t\t\t<p>\n\t\t\t\t(laughter)\u00a0 \n\t\t\t<\/p>\n\t\t\t<p>\n\t\t\t\tYes.\u00a0 I did a good job of a little sleep, a little slumber; but that verse kind of woke me up.\u00a0 There is another one about the ant.\n\t\t\t<\/p>\n\t\t\t<p>\n\t\t\t\t<strong>Bob:<\/strong><strong>\u00a0 <\/strong>\u201cGo to the ant, you sluggard.\u201d\u00a0 \n\t\t\t<\/p>\n\t\t\t<p>\n\t\t\t\t<strong>Dennis:<\/strong><strong>\u00a0 <\/strong>Consider his ways.\u00a0 \n\t\t\t<\/p>\n\t\t\t<p>\n\t\t\t\t<strong>Bob:<\/strong><strong>\u00a0 <\/strong>You have to know this stuff in context.\u00a0 You can\u2019t just pull a verse out and say, \u201cOkay, that\u2019s my favorite verse,\u201d because you could get it way wrong.\n\t\t\t<\/p>\n\t\t\t<p>\n\t\t\t\t<strong>Dennis:<\/strong><strong>\u00a0 <\/strong>We have the Ministry Relations Director for Logos Bible software with us.\u00a0 Scott Lindsey joins us again on <em>FamilyLife Today.<\/em>\u00a0 Scott, welcome back.\n\t\t\t<\/p>\n\t\t\t<p>\n\t\t\t\t<strong>Scott:<\/strong><strong>\u00a0 <\/strong>It is great to be back.\n\t\t\t<\/p>\n\t\t\t<p>\n\t\t\t\t<strong>Dennis:<\/strong><strong>\u00a0 <\/strong>You know, yesterday it was revealed here on the broadcast that Bob had a later version of Logos Bible software.\n\t\t\t<\/p>\n\t\t\t<p>\n\t\t\t\t<strong>Bob:<\/strong><strong>\u00a0 <\/strong>Logos 4, yes.\n\t\t\t<\/p>\n\t\t\t<p>\n\t\t\t\t<strong>Dennis:<\/strong><strong>\u00a0 <\/strong>You kind of shrunk back and started looking for the exit.\u00a0 \n\t\t\t<\/p>\n\t\t\t<p>\n\t\t\t\t(laughter)\u00a0 \n\t\t\t<\/p>\n\t\t\t<p>\n\t\t\t\tI want to hold something up, Scott.\u00a0 Demonstrate Point 2.\u00a0 I do not have the software on my iPhone.\n\t\t\t<\/p>\n\t\t\t<p>\n\t\t\t\t<strong>Bob:<\/strong><strong>\u00a0 <\/strong>Time-out here; just a second.\u00a0 That is only because you have not gone to the iPhone store and downloaded it because the Logos\u2026\n\t\t\t<\/p>\n\t\t\t<p>\n\t\t\t\t<strong>Dennis:<\/strong><strong>\u00a0 <\/strong>Is that where you got it?\n\t\t\t<\/p>\n\t\t\t<p>\n\t\t\t\t<strong>Bob:<\/strong><strong>\u00a0 <\/strong>I downloaded it straight from the iPhone store.\n\t\t\t<\/p>\n\t\t\t<p>\n\t\t\t\t<strong>Dennis:<\/strong><strong>\u00a0 <\/strong>I promise, you found out about it from Scott.\n\t\t\t<\/p>\n\t\t\t<p>\n\t\t\t\t<strong>Bob:<\/strong><strong>\u00a0 <\/strong>I did find out about it from Scott; that is true.\u00a0 \n\t\t\t<\/p>\n\t\t\t<p>\n\t\t\t\t(laughter)\n\t\t\t<\/p>\n\t\t\t<p>\n\t\t\t\t<strong>Dennis:<\/strong><strong>\u00a0 <\/strong>I\u2019m not on the inside circle here.\u00a0 What is happening, Scott?\u00a0 You are making it available on the iPhone now, huh?\n\t\t\t<\/p>\n\t\t\t<p>\n\t\t\t\t<strong>Scott:<\/strong><strong>\u00a0 <\/strong>Yes, the wonderful news about the new version of Logos is that it is now PC, Mac, and iPhone.\u00a0 When someone invests in this technology and they purchase a library, they get all of them.\u00a0 They get the PC-version, the Mac-version, the iPhone-version\u2014all at the same time.\u00a0 The iPhone app is just awesome because I travel a lot.\u00a0 I\u2019ve got Bible studies and I\u2019m in my favorite coffee shop in Washington.\u00a0 I\u2019ve got my library with me wherever I go now.\n\t\t\t<\/p>\n\t\t\t<p>\n\t\t\t\t<strong>Bob:<\/strong><strong>\u00a0 <\/strong>Now you don\u2019t have to have a Logos library to download the software.\u00a0 There is some stuff that anybody gets for free, right?\n\t\t\t<\/p>\n\t\t\t<p>\n\t\t\t\t<strong>Scott:<\/strong><strong>\u00a0 <\/strong>Exactly right.\u00a0 The iPhone app is free; but if they do have a Logos library\u2014oh\u2014then it is absolutely amazing.\n\t\t\t<\/p>\n\t\t\t<p>\n\t\t\t\t<strong>Bob:<\/strong><strong>\u00a0 <\/strong>It really is absolutely amazing.\u00a0 \n\t\t\t<\/p>\n\t\t\t<p>\n\t\t\t\t<strong>Dennis:<\/strong><strong>\u00a0 <\/strong>See, I don\u2019t have the\u2026# 4!\u00a0 \n\t\t\t<\/p>\n\t\t\t<p>\n\t\t\t\t(laughter)\u00a0 \n\t\t\t<\/p>\n\t\t\t<p>\n\t\t\t\tYou know we are talking about Bible study here.\u00a0 We want to encourage singles, husbands, wives, moms and dads, and grandparents to get into the Book.\u00a0 \n\t\t\t<\/p>\n\t\t\t<p>\n\t\t\t\tEarlier this year\u2014all the month of January\u2014we started the broadcast reading a passage of Scripture and just talking about, \u201cRead the Bible in your marriages and in your families.\u201d\u00a0 The reason, Scott, I did that is I fear we are raising a generation of young people who are\u2014I hate to use such a crass term\u2014but they are biblically illiterate.\u00a0 They don\u2019t know what to do with the Scripture.\u00a0 \n\t\t\t<\/p>\n\t\t\t<p>\n\t\t\t\tReally, that is what you are trying to do here with technology.\u00a0 You are trying to meet a generation of young people around the very thing that they use the most\u2014technology.\u00a0 \n\t\t\t<\/p>\n\t\t\t<p>\n\t\t\t\t<strong>Scott:<\/strong><strong>\u00a0 <\/strong>Yes, that is a very troubling statistic\u2014is the decline in Bible study or even just Bible reading with young people.\u00a0 When we ask young people, \u201cHey, what aren\u2019t you studying the Bible?\u201d\u00a0 Sadly, the thing that we hear is, \u201cI think Bible study is boring.\u201d\u00a0 Yet, the Bible is not boring.\u00a0 The Bible is the best book you can ever commit yourself to.\u00a0 It is just that we are forcing a paper paradigm on today\u2019s young person.\u00a0 \n\t\t\t<\/p>\n\t\t\t<p>\n\t\t\t\tIn working on my master\u2019s degree, I came across a statistic that just blew me away.\u00a0 I am a parent of four children; I have two teenagers.\u00a0 I want them excited about Bible study.\u00a0 \n\t\t\t<\/p>\n\t\t\t<p>\n\t\t\t\tSeventy-five percent of what a young person between the ages of 14 and 18\u2014by the time they graduate high school\u2014more than 75 percent of what they will learn, they will learn electronically.\u00a0 So, as a parent, I was, \u201cWait a second, here,\u201d because if that is the way research and learning is going, I have got to introduce my teenagers to Logos to get them interested in Bible study.\n\t\t\t<\/p>\n\t\t\t<p>\n\t\t\t\t<strong>Dennis:<\/strong><strong>\u00a0 <\/strong>How have you done that?\u00a0 \n\t\t\t<\/p>\n\t\t\t<p>\n\t\t\t\t<strong>Scott:<\/strong><strong>\u00a0 <\/strong>God\u2014this year and last year\u2014it started last year\u2014really put it upon my heart to train my children\u2014to train my kids in theology, to make sure that their feet are on some pretty solid ground.\n\t\t\t<\/p>\n\t\t\t<p>\n\t\t\t\t<strong>Bob:<\/strong><strong>\u00a0 <\/strong>This was right after you read <em>The Christian Husband<\/em> that this happened\u2014is that right? \n\t\t\t<\/p>\n\t\t\t<p>\n\t\t\t\t<strong>Scott:<\/strong><strong>\u00a0 <\/strong>That is exactly right.\n\t\t\t<\/p>\n\t\t\t<p>\n\t\t\t\t<strong>Dennis:<\/strong><strong>\u00a0 <\/strong>Bob\u2019s book.\u00a0 \n\t\t\t<\/p>\n\t\t\t<p>\n\t\t\t\t(laughter)\n\t\t\t<\/p>\n\t\t\t<p>\n\t\t\t\t<strong>Scott:<\/strong><strong>\u00a0 <\/strong>We did.\u00a0 We did Bob\u2019s book in my men\u2019s Bible study group.\n\t\t\t<\/p>\n\t\t\t<p>\n\t\t\t\t<strong>Dennis:<\/strong><strong>\u00a0 <\/strong>I just want to make sure our listeners didn\u2019t miss that.\u00a0 \n\t\t\t<\/p>\n\t\t\t<p>\n\t\t\t\t<strong>Scott:<\/strong><strong>\u00a0 <\/strong>Yes.\n\t\t\t<\/p>\n\t\t\t<p>\n\t\t\t\t<strong>Dennis:<\/strong><strong>\u00a0 <\/strong>It has been a while since that book has been mentioned here on <em>FamilyLife Today<\/em>.\n\t\t\t<\/p>\n\t\t\t<p>\n\t\t\t\t<strong>Bob:<\/strong><strong>\u00a0 <\/strong>I thought I\u2019d bring it up.\u00a0 \n\t\t\t<\/p>\n\t\t\t<p>\n\t\t\t\t(laughter)\n\t\t\t<\/p>\n\t\t\t<p>\n\t\t\t\t<strong>Scott:<\/strong><strong>\u00a0 <\/strong>Wonderful book.\n\t\t\t<\/p>\n\t\t\t<p>\n\t\t\t\t<strong>Dennis:<\/strong><strong>\u00a0 <\/strong>That\u2019s <em>The Christian Husband<\/em> by Bob Lepine.\u00a0 \n\t\t\t<\/p>\n\t\t\t<p>\n\t\t\t\t(laughter)\n\t\t\t<\/p>\n\t\t\t<p>\n\t\t\t\t<strong>Scott:<\/strong><strong>\u00a0 <\/strong>Excellent book.\n\t\t\t<\/p>\n\t\t\t<p>\n\t\t\t\t<strong>Bob:<\/strong><strong>\u00a0 <\/strong>Go to FamilyLifeToday.com for more information.\n\t\t\t<\/p>\n\t\t\t<p>\n\t\t\t\t<strong>Scott:<\/strong><strong>\u00a0 <\/strong>Yes.\u00a0 \n\t\t\t<\/p>\n\t\t\t<p>\n\t\t\t\t(laughter)\n\t\t\t<\/p>\n\t\t\t<p>\n\t\t\t\t<strong>Dennis:<\/strong><strong>\u00a0 <\/strong>Your point was you felt the responsibility as a dad to spiritually protect your wife and family.\u00a0 \n\t\t\t<\/p>\n\t\t\t<p>\n\t\t\t\t<strong>Scott:<\/strong><strong>\u00a0 <\/strong>I think the copout today is, \u201cOh, that\u2019s the responsibility of the youth program\u201d; \u201cThat\u2019s the responsibility of the pastor.\u201d\u00a0 Those all play a part, but it is my job.\u00a0 It is my responsibility to dig into the Word of God\u2014to push the dinner plates away when we are done\u2014even if it is just 5, 10, 15 minutes:\u00a0 \u201cLet\u2019s talk about the Lord.\u00a0 Let\u2019s learn theology.\u00a0 What is sanctification?\u00a0 What is propitiation?\u201d\u00a0 Those types of really big theological concepts are not that complicated as long as you are committed to teaching them.\u00a0 \n\t\t\t<\/p>\n\t\t\t<p>\n\t\t\t\t<strong>Bob:<\/strong><strong>\u00a0 <\/strong>So do you pop open the laptop at the dinner table at the Lindsey house?\n\t\t\t<\/p>\n\t\t\t<p>\n\t\t\t\t<strong>Scott:<\/strong><strong>\u00a0 <\/strong>Sometimes we do.\u00a0 Absolutely.\u00a0 What I will do the night before is I\u2019ll prepare.\u00a0 I\u2019ll have an idea or something.\u00a0 There are a lot of great resources out there.\u00a0 I have Josh McDowell\u2019s great devotional work, Bruce Ware, MacArthur \u2014there are many, many different authors who have those type of things.\u00a0 Again, I don\u2019t want to be dependent on somebody else\u2019s walk with the Lord.\u00a0 I want to lead my family; so I use those as other resources.\u00a0 \n\t\t\t<\/p>\n\t\t\t<p>\n\t\t\t\tI\u2019ll pick a topic\u2014Sanctification.\u00a0 What is the process of sanctification?\u00a0 Theologically, what does that mean?\u00a0 What did people like Spurgeon, Jonathan Edwards, and J. C. Ryle\u2014What do they say about sanctification?\u00a0\u00a0 \n\t\t\t<\/p>\n\t\t\t<p>\n\t\t\t\tHere\u2019s the thing:\u00a0 I know that if my kids see me excited about the Word of God, about theology, about my walk\u2014guess what\u2014they\u2019re excited.\u00a0 If the Bible is boring to me, it is going to be boring to them.\u00a0 I think Logos is a wonderful way to re-spark that interest in the home.\u00a0 I like to ask families \u201cRaise your hand if you live across the street from a Bible college.\u201d\u00a0 Nobody raises their hand.\u00a0 That is what we are doing; we are providing for you a massive theological library with the authors that we trust\u2014Spurgeon, Edwards, MacArthur, Piper\u2026to get biblical answers in seconds.\u00a0 \n\t\t\t<\/p>\n\t\t\t<p>\n\t\t\t\t<strong>Dennis:<\/strong><strong>\u00a0 <\/strong>One of the things I appreciate about it because I just punched it in.\u00a0 There is a box where you type in the passage, the word, or the topic.\u00a0 I punched in \u201csanctification,\u201d and instantly it is giving me probably more than I have time to be able to do; but here is what I like about it.\u00a0 I can select the level of study that I do on the topic.\u00a0 \n\t\t\t<\/p>\n\t\t\t<p>\n\t\t\t\tThere are certain authors you have in here that will give me more of a simple, layman\u2019s approach as I present this topic with my family.\u00a0 There are others that will take me, as this one does, back to the Nicene, post-Nicene fathers and what they have written about it.\u00a0 Now, I am not going to use that for leading teenagers, I don\u2019t think.\u00a0 Now, you may; but I am going to use some of your other scholars and some of the other books you have on there.\u00a0 \n\t\t\t<\/p>\n\t\t\t<p>\n\t\t\t\tYou can click on them and actually open the book right there.\u00a0 So when I take my computer on a plane and do Bible study, it\u2019s like I\u2019m carrying a bunch of scholars, theologians, and probably several tons of books with me on the plane when I get on there with just my computer\u2014all the resources that are available.\n\t\t\t<\/p>\n\t\t\t<p>\n\t\t\t\t<strong>Bob:<\/strong><strong>\u00a0 <\/strong>I have talked to some folks who, as we have talked about my Logos software, they have said, \u201cWith the internet available now, why have the Logos software?\u00a0 Can\u2019t you just go to Googleand type in whatever you want, and it is there?\u201d\n\t\t\t<\/p>\n\t\t\t<p>\n\t\t\t\t<strong>Scott:<\/strong><strong>\u00a0 <\/strong>Here is a great example.\u00a0 I recently did some TV with Kay Arthur.\u00a0 We didn\u2019t script anything; we didn\u2019t practice; we just flipped the cameras on and, \u201cLet\u2019s see what happens.\u201d\u00a0 Guess what word Kay wants to get some information on.\u00a0 Kay says, \u201cWhat does Logos say about sex?\u201d\u00a0 (Sweat, pouring down my brow.)\u00a0 What was awesome, though, was that Logos linked it to purity; Logos linked it to the covenant of marriage.\u00a0 Here\u2019s the thing.\u00a0 I do not want my young teenager typing the word, \u201cSex,\u201d at Google and clicking, \u201cSearch.\u201d\u00a0 \n\t\t\t<\/p>\n\t\t\t<p>\n\t\t\t\t<strong>Bob:<\/strong><strong>\u00a0 <\/strong>I don\u2019t want you doing it; forget your teenager.\u00a0 \n\t\t\t<\/p>\n\t\t\t<p>\n\t\t\t\t<strong>Scott:<\/strong><strong>\u00a0 <\/strong>Now we have a filter.\u00a0 Hopefully they wouldn\u2019t get into anything anyway.\u00a0 The other thing is, again, Logos linked that topic to marriage.\u00a0 It linked it to purity and chastity.\u00a0 Google is not a great theologian.\u00a0 Googleis a great source for information; but I would much rather go to MacArthur, Piper, Spurgeon, Edwards\u2014What do they have to say?\u00a0 What do commentaries, scholars, Bible dictionaries say about a topic versus willy-nilly whosever\u2019s opinion is on the internet\u2014pretty scary.\u00a0 \n\t\t\t<\/p>\n\t\t\t<p>\n\t\t\t\t<strong>Bob:<\/strong><strong>\u00a0 <\/strong>Logos, I think, can look intimidating, especially for someone who goes, \u201cI\u2019m no Bible scholar.\u00a0 I\u2019m just a mom.\u00a0 I\u2019m just a dad.\u00a0 I\u2019m a teenager.\u201d\u00a0 I typed in \u2018sanctification.\u2019\u00a0 I\u2019m not sure even how to spell it and I get this list of books; and I feel overwhelmed.\u201d\u00a0 How do you help people not be overwhelmed?\n\t\t\t<\/p>\n\t\t\t<p>\n\t\t\t\t<strong>Scott:<\/strong><strong>\u00a0 <\/strong>One of the new things that really focused on with the latest version, Logos 4, was to take away the intimidation.\u00a0 So when you now open up the software, it opens up like a newspaper every day.\u00a0 It is like a theological newspaper.\u00a0 It is different every morning.\u00a0 \n\t\t\t<\/p>\n\t\t\t<p>\n\t\t\t\tSomebody recently commented, \u201cI love this because every morning my paper on my doorstep is bad news.\u00a0 Your newspaper is the good news of Jesus Christ every day, fresh and new.\u201d\u00a0 We are trying to pull content from your library and try to display it to you in an interesting way.\u00a0 \n\t\t\t<\/p>\n\t\t\t<p>\n\t\t\t\tToday there was an article on marriage.\u00a0 There was an article on \u201cWhat Does It Mean to Be in Covenant?\u201d\u00a0 Pictures of the holy land\u2014I love it!\u00a0 I get my cup of coffee, I get giddy, I open up Logos, and there is my newspaper.\u00a0 I learn!\u00a0 We are trying to present theology and the Bible in a fresh, new way every day.\n\t\t\t<\/p>\n\t\t\t<p>\n\t\t\t\t<strong>Dennis:<\/strong><strong>\u00a0 <\/strong>You also have devotional readings that people can check-off every day and a place to make notes.\u00a0 \n\t\t\t<\/p>\n\t\t\t<p>\n\t\t\t\t<strong>Scott:<\/strong><strong>\u00a0 <\/strong>That is interesting that you say the accountability.\u00a0 Yes, you can create a Bible-reading plan.\u00a0 Last year was the first time I ever read the Bible straight through.\u00a0 I actually did it twice.\u00a0 I did it because Logos kept me accountable to it.\u00a0 There is a little banner across the book cover that says, \u201cBehind,\u201d if you are; and I don\u2019t like that!\u00a0 \n\t\t\t<\/p>\n\t\t\t<p>\n\t\t\t\t(laughter)\u00a0 \n\t\t\t<\/p>\n\t\t\t<p>\n\t\t\t\tWhat is interesting; we already mentioned the iPhone app.\u00a0 Your reading plan is synched between your computer and the iPhone app.\u00a0 I don\u2019t mind anymore getting stuck in a grocery store line for five minutes.\u00a0 It is amazing how my peace-level\u2014I don\u2019t care if my line is ten minutes long, I\u2019ve got my whole library with me in the palm of my hand.\u00a0 I get caught up on my reading plan.\u00a0 \n\t\t\t<\/p>\n\t\t\t<p>\n\t\t\t\tYou can create reading plans for anything\u2014not only the Bible.\u00a0 I have created one for systematic theology.\u00a0 I have created one for a great biographical book we have called <em>131 Christians You Should Know<\/em>.\u00a0 Whether I am in the gym, bank, anywhere, I\u2019ve got my library with me wherever I go.\n\t\t\t<\/p>\n\t\t\t<p>\n\t\t\t\t<strong>Bob:<\/strong><strong>\u00a0 <\/strong>We have talked about the fact that I have Logos 4 and Dennis doesn\u2019t.\u00a0 I have the iPhone app, and Dennis doesn\u2019t.\u00a0 The truth is Dennis and Barbara are going to be in your Bible study magazine next month.\u00a0 Nobody has called me to see if I want to be in your Bible study magazine, right?\u00a0 \n\t\t\t<\/p>\n\t\t\t<p>\n\t\t\t\t(laughter)\n\t\t\t<\/p>\n\t\t\t<p>\n\t\t\t\t<strong>Scott:<\/strong><strong>\u00a0 <\/strong>We already plugged your book, so you are good there.\u00a0 \n\t\t\t<\/p>\n\t\t\t<p>\n\t\t\t\t(laughter)\n\t\t\t<\/p>\n\t\t\t<p>\n\t\t\t\t<strong>Bob:<\/strong><strong>\u00a0 <\/strong>Tell them about Bible study and the magazine you guys have come up with.\u00a0 \n\t\t\t<\/p>\n\t\t\t<p>\n\t\t\t\t<strong>Scott:<\/strong><strong>\u00a0 <\/strong>Again, our passion is Bible study.\u00a0 I mean, obviously we are focusing on the world of technology in apps for iPhone, PC, and Mac.\u00a0 The other thing that we realized is that there are just some out there who don\u2019t have anything to do with a computer.\u00a0 How do we reach those people?\u00a0 How do we present the Bible in a fascinating, life-changing way?\u00a0 \n\t\t\t<\/p>\n\t\t\t<p>\n\t\t\t\tWe decided to create a print magazine.\u00a0 Isn\u2019t that ironic in an electronic, technology company\u2014a print magazine?\u00a0 It is taking off.\u00a0 The content is wonderful.\u00a0 We have had Josh McDowell as a cover; John Piper; John MacArthur; and Kay Arthur.\u00a0 The July issue is going to feature Dennis and Barbara and how Bible study has played a pivotal role in their marriage.\u00a0 Beth Moore will be part of that issue as well.\u00a0 \n\t\t\t<\/p>\n\t\t\t<p>\n\t\t\t\tWe are trying to bring in all kinds of different areas. We have word studies; we have general-appeal articles, devotional articles.\u00a0 There are actual Bible studies in the magazine.\u00a0 We are hearing feedback from teenagers, from parents, from seniors saying, \u201cI can\u2019t wait to get my Bible study magazine every other month.\u201d\n\t\t\t<\/p>\n\t\t\t<p>\n\t\t\t\t<strong>Bob:<\/strong><strong>\u00a0 <\/strong>You have been doing this for 13 years with Logos.\u00a0 You have had a lot of people who have invested in the software; but I know what really jazzes you is when you hear from folks a year later and they tell you what the investment has meant in their lives, in their marriage, in their family.\u00a0 What are some of the things you have heard?\n\t\t\t<\/p>\n\t\t\t<p>\n\t\t\t\t<strong>Scott:<\/strong><strong>\u00a0 <\/strong>Oh, yes.\u00a0 There are a lot of conferences and events where I am there yearly.\u00a0 Again, I get to see these people and literally to have people, almost teary-eyed say, \u201cThis has transformed our family.\u00a0 I have a son who a year or two ago could care less about Bible study.\u00a0 Now he is talking about Bible college because you have presented the Bible in a way that connects.\u201d\n\t\t\t<\/p>\n\t\t\t<p>\n\t\t\t\t<strong>Dennis:<\/strong><strong>\u00a0 <\/strong>This is really for everybody.\u00a0 It is not just for the professionals.\u00a0 Lay couples can use this as well, right?\n\t\t\t<\/p>\n\t\t\t<p>\n\t\t\t\t<strong>Scott:<\/strong><strong>\u00a0 <\/strong>Absolutely.\u00a0 One of my favorite features in Logos 4 is that we also provide tools that help you teach, not only discovery\u2014we don\u2019t want you just keeping the insight to yourself.\u00a0 We provide ways that you can do handouts.\u00a0 We help you with power point.\u00a0 We want you discipling; we want you leading Bible studies.\u00a0 \n\t\t\t<\/p>\n\t\t\t<p>\n\t\t\t\tWe want you doing a better job of home schooling.\u00a0 If you home school and you are teaching the Bible, this is a great resource for the home school parent.\u00a0 You are right.\u00a0 This is not just for the pastor.\u00a0 This is for anyone who wants to get serious about Bible study.\u00a0 This is an investment that truly will transform your life.\n\t\t\t<\/p>\n\t\t\t<p>\n\t\t\t\t<strong>Bob:<\/strong><strong>\u00a0 <\/strong>I mentioned earlier that you think back to the mid-1990s and people didn\u2019t know what the internet was.\u00a0 In fact, computers were just beginning to be used by average people.\u00a0 You say Logos is 20 years old?\n\t\t\t<\/p>\n\t\t\t<p>\n\t\t\t\t<strong>Scott:<\/strong><strong>\u00a0 <\/strong>Going on our 20<sup>th<\/sup> year.\n\t\t\t<\/p>\n\t\t\t<p>\n\t\t\t\t<strong>Bob:<\/strong><strong>\u00a0 <\/strong>So what were you doing 20 years ago when most of us didn\u2019t even have PCs?\n\t\t\t<\/p>\n\t\t\t<p>\n\t\t\t\t<strong>Scott:<\/strong><strong>\u00a0 <\/strong>We are based out of Bellingham, Washington, which is a little north of Seattle.\u00a0 The co-founder and our CEO, our fearless leader, Bob Pritchett, was one of Bill Gates\u2019 youngest program managers at 16 and used the labs at Microsoft to create the very first Bible software program.\u00a0 That is how we got into Washington state.\u00a0 \n\t\t\t<\/p>\n\t\t\t<p>\n\t\t\t\tBob had a passion for the Bible; they use them; and they love them.\u00a0 \n\t\t\t<\/p>\n\t\t\t<p>\n\t\t\t\t<strong>Dennis:<\/strong><strong>\u00a0 <\/strong>We are not saying that those are bad necessarily.\n\t\t\t<\/p>\n\t\t\t<p>\n\t\t\t\t<strong>Bob:<\/strong><strong>\u00a0 <\/strong>But there is something pretty unique about what Logos has done in terms of the depth it takes you and the simplicity of use.\u00a0 Again, I think that how a layman can use it and really dig deep and get to places most laymen could not get on their own.\u00a0 \n\t\t\t<\/p>\n\t\t\t<p>\n\t\t\t\tI mean, I\u2019m no Greek scholar;
