and yes, they have written <strong>this<\/strong> book for those who are <strong>stupid<\/strong> about love. \n\t\t\t<\/p>\n\t\t\t<p>\n\t\t\t\t<strong>Bob:<\/strong><strong>\u00a0 <\/strong>And we are going to zero today on stupid singles.\u00a0 Now it is possible\u2026\n\t\t\t<\/p>\n\t\t\t<p>\n\t\t\t\t<strong>Dennis:<\/strong><strong>\u00a0 <\/strong>Bob, Bob\u2026Bob\u2026Bob\u2026Bob!\u00a0 <strong>Today<\/strong> we are going to address our single audience with some helpful pointers about romance.\u00a0 \n\t\t\t<\/p>\n\t\t\t<p>\n\t\t\t\t(laughter)\u00a0 \n\t\t\t<\/p>\n\t\t\t<p>\n\t\t\t\t<strong>Bob:<\/strong><strong>\u00a0 <\/strong>Well, let\u2019s just\u2026\n\t\t\t<\/p>\n\t\t\t<p>\n\t\t\t\t<strong>Dennis:<\/strong><strong>\u00a0 <\/strong>I mean, Bob, you have offended numerous guests!\u00a0 We need the audience!\u00a0 \n\t\t\t<\/p>\n\t\t\t<p>\n\t\t\t\t<strong>Bob:<\/strong><strong>\u00a0 <\/strong>I am going to let our listeners know that later in the week we are going to talk about stupid <strong>married<\/strong> couples; so we are going both ways!\u00a0 \n\t\t\t<\/p>\n\t\t\t<p>\n\t\t\t\t(laughter)\n\t\t\t<\/p>\n\t\t\t<p>\n\t\t\t\t<strong>Michael:<\/strong>\u00a0 Leave the offending to us.\u00a0 I\u2019m offended now.\u00a0 \n\t\t\t<\/p>\n\t\t\t<p>\n\t\t\t\t(laughter)\n\t\t\t<\/p>\n\t\t\t<p>\n\t\t\t\t<strong>Bob:<\/strong><strong>\u00a0 <\/strong>You guys wrote this book because you look at people trying to love one another and they just aren\u2019t doing a very good job.\u00a0 Right?\n\t\t\t<\/p>\n\t\t\t<p>\n\t\t\t\t<strong>Michael:<\/strong>\u00a0 First off, we looked at ourselves.\u00a0 (laughter)\u00a0 And so\u2026.\n\t\t\t<\/p>\n\t\t\t<p>\n\t\t\t\t<strong>Dennis:<\/strong>\u00a0 Bob suggested before we came on the air that this is the real life story of Michael and Hayley.\n\t\t\t<\/p>\n\t\t\t<p>\n\t\t\t\t<strong>Bob:<\/strong><strong>\u00a0 <\/strong>The DiMarco Story.\n\t\t\t<\/p>\n\t\t\t<p>\n\t\t\t\t<strong>Michael:<\/strong>\u00a0 Yes.\u00a0 I mean what better trough to glean from than your own experience?\u00a0 \n\t\t\t<\/p>\n\t\t\t<p>\n\t\t\t\t<strong>Hayley:<\/strong>\u00a0 That\u2019s true.\u00a0 \n\t\t\t<\/p>\n\t\t\t<p>\n\t\t\t\t<strong>Dennis: <\/strong>\u00a0It is 50 things.\u00a0 Which one of these, Hayley, most marked your husband, Michael, when he was a single guy?\u00a0 Now okay, a little confession.\u00a0 Bob and I do this frequently here on the broadcast.\u00a0 It helps people realize there are a lot of <strong>real<\/strong> people on the radio.\u00a0 So, I\u2019ll let you look over the list quickly, but not take <strong>too<\/strong> long and not give <strong>too<\/strong> many.\u00a0 \n\t\t\t<\/p>\n\t\t\t<p>\n\t\t\t\t(laughter)\u00a0 There are <strong>50 <\/strong>of these in the book.\u00a0 \n\t\t\t<\/p>\n\t\t\t<p>\n\t\t\t\t<strong>Bob:<\/strong><strong>\u00a0 <\/strong>Have you zeroed\u2026.\n\t\t\t<\/p>\n\t\t\t<p>\n\t\t\t\t<strong>Michael:<\/strong><strong>\u00a0 <\/strong>Is there an \u201ce\u201d for \u201call of the above\u201d?\n\t\t\t<\/p>\n\t\t\t<p>\n\t\t\t\t<strong>Dennis:<\/strong><strong>\u00a0 <\/strong>No!\n\t\t\t<\/p>\n\t\t\t<p>\n\t\t\t\t<strong>Hayley:<\/strong>\u00a0 Yes, that would have been easier.\u00a0 (laughter)\n\t\t\t<\/p>\n\t\t\t<p>\n\t\t\t\t<strong>Dennis:<\/strong>\u00a0 Is there one you can select?\u00a0 \n\t\t\t<\/p>\n\t\t\t<p>\n\t\t\t\t<strong>Hayley:<\/strong>\u00a0 I think probably one of the big ones for him would be trying to fix things.\u00a0 Of course, that is kind of a \u201cguy thing.\u201d\u00a0 I know you all major in fixing everything.\u00a0 We don\u2019t always want to be fixed; but I think for Michael it was more along the lines of coming to the rescue of single women who were in need.\n\t\t\t<\/p>\n\t\t\t<p>\n\t\t\t\t<strong>Bob:<\/strong><strong>\u00a0 <\/strong>That was true before you got married?\u00a0 Is it still true after?\n\t\t\t<\/p>\n\t\t\t<p>\n\t\t\t\t<strong>Hayley:<\/strong><strong>\u00a0 <\/strong>Yes.\u00a0 No, no.\u00a0 He is not coming to the rescue\u2026\n\t\t\t<\/p>\n\t\t\t<p>\n\t\t\t\t<strong>Bob:<\/strong><strong>\u00a0 <\/strong>Of women in need.\u00a0 (laughter)\u00a0 But the fixing it is something that is kind of in the bloodstream, right?\n\t\t\t<\/p>\n\t\t\t<p>\n\t\t\t\t<strong>Hayley:<\/strong><strong>\u00a0 <\/strong>Yes, it is.\n\t\t\t<\/p>\n\t\t\t<p>\n\t\t\t\t<strong>Dennis:<\/strong><strong>\u00a0 <\/strong>Well, he does come to the aid of <strong>one<\/strong> woman in need, though.\n\t\t\t<\/p>\n\t\t\t<p>\n\t\t\t\t<strong>Hayley:<\/strong><strong>\u00a0 <\/strong>That\u2019s right.\u00a0 \n\t\t\t<\/p>\n\t\t\t<p>\n\t\t\t\t<strong>Dennis:<\/strong><strong>\u00a0 <\/strong>After you get married. \n\t\t\t<\/p>\n\t\t\t<p>\n\t\t\t\t<strong>Bob:<\/strong><strong>\u00a0 <\/strong>What was it like before you got\u2014I mean what was your pattern, Michael, of coming to the aid of women in need?\n\t\t\t<\/p>\n\t\t\t<p>\n\t\t\t\t<strong>Michael:<\/strong><strong>\u00a0 <\/strong>I think it is that, I don\u2019t know, that germ or that DNA inside of every man that wants to be the hero.\u00a0 Being the youngest of six kids and having a father that actually had me late in life, fought in WWII and Korea, and was a war hero--that whole thing of being a hero and also just not learning that when women tell you something, that that isn\u2019t necessarily a prescription for or a request for you to \u201cfix it.\u201d\u00a0 \n\t\t\t<\/p>\n\t\t\t<p>\n\t\t\t\tSo the problem is if you are really good at fixing things, it doesn\u2019t matter who the woman is and if they are right for you or you are right for them or if you are even ready for a relationship.\u00a0 It basically starts you on a roller coaster, a train ride of sorts on a rail, that you set in motion by \u201cfixing things.\u201d\n\t\t\t<\/p>\n\t\t\t<p>\n\t\t\t\t<strong>Bob:<\/strong><strong>\u00a0 <\/strong>There is a buzz you get when you are the hero.\u00a0 \n\t\t\t<\/p>\n\t\t\t<p>\n\t\t\t\t<strong>Michael:<\/strong><strong>\u00a0 <\/strong>Yes.\n\t\t\t<\/p>\n\t\t\t<p>\n\t\t\t\t<strong>Bob:<\/strong><strong>\u00a0 <\/strong>You are saying\u2026\n\t\t\t<\/p>\n\t\t\t<p>\n\t\t\t\t<strong>Dennis:<\/strong><strong>\u00a0 <\/strong>Knight in shining armor.\u00a0 He is coming up over the top of the hill with the solution.\n\t\t\t<\/p>\n\t\t\t<p>\n\t\t\t\t<strong>Hayley:<\/strong><strong>\u00a0 <\/strong>That leads to the other problem of not knowing when to break up.\u00a0 You are so enamored with, \u201cI\u2019m going to \u2018fix her,\u2019\u201d or \u201cI\u2019m going to help her; I\u2019m going to get her out of this mess,\u201d you don\u2019t realize, like Mike said, she is not the right one for you.\u00a0 I know there are instances\u2026\n\t\t\t<\/p>\n\t\t\t<p>\n\t\t\t\t<strong>Michael:<\/strong><strong>\u00a0 <\/strong>Or you do realize that you, just by breaking up, you are not fixing something in your mind; you are breaking something.\u00a0 \n\t\t\t<\/p>\n\t\t\t<p>\n\t\t\t\t<strong>Hayley:<\/strong><strong>\u00a0 <\/strong>That\u2019s good. \n\t\t\t<\/p>\n\t\t\t<p>\n\t\t\t\t<strong>Bob:<\/strong><strong>\u00a0 <\/strong>And, you do not get the same buzz after have broken up.\u00a0 (laughter)\n\t\t\t<\/p>\n\t\t\t<p>\n\t\t\t\t<strong>Dennis:<\/strong><strong>\u00a0 <\/strong>No, you sure don\u2019t.\u00a0 \n\t\t\t<\/p>\n\t\t\t<p>\n\t\t\t\t<strong>Michael:<\/strong><strong>\u00a0 <\/strong>No, not for most guys.\n\t\t\t<\/p>\n\t\t\t<p>\n\t\t\t\t<strong>Dennis:<\/strong><strong>\u00a0 <\/strong>There are two more that I want you to comment on.\u00a0 I am going to lump these together.\u00a0 You put these under Section 3, physical acts of cupidity:\u00a0 using sex to get love, using romance to get sex.\n\t\t\t<\/p>\n\t\t\t<p>\n\t\t\t\t<strong>Hayley:<\/strong><strong>\u00a0 <\/strong>Yes, those tend to be gender-specific, don\u2019t they?\u00a0 I think we can all understand who is who in that.\u00a0 \n\t\t\t<\/p>\n\t\t\t<p>\n\t\t\t\t<strong>Michael:<\/strong><strong>\u00a0 <\/strong>There are exceptions, but yes.\n\t\t\t<\/p>\n\t\t\t<p>\n\t\t\t\t<strong>Hayley:<\/strong><strong>\u00a0 <\/strong>For the most part.\n\t\t\t<\/p>\n\t\t\t<p>\n\t\t\t\t<strong>Michael:<\/strong><strong>\u00a0 <\/strong>Usually using sex to get love is a feminine act of cupidity.\n\t\t\t<\/p>\n\t\t\t<p>\n\t\t\t\t<strong>Hayley:<\/strong><strong>\u00a0 <\/strong>The truth is we know as women what men want.\u00a0 I am not trying to be crude, but men want in a relationship a physical pay off.\u00a0 Women know that is their ultimate goal, be it through marriage or just a dating relationship.\u00a0 So a lot of women will take that, \u201cWell, I know what he wants.\u00a0 So if I give it to him, maybe he will give me what I want,\u201d which is, \u201cI want his love\u2014I want him to say I am the reason he is alive--the first thing he thinks of in the morning and the last thing he thinks of at night.\u201d\u00a0 We\u2019re looking for that.\n\t\t\t<\/p>\n\t\t\t<p>\n\t\t\t\t<strong>Bob:<\/strong><strong>\u00a0 <\/strong>I am going to write that down.\u00a0 \u201cI am the reason he is\u2026\u201d\u00a0 (laughter)\u00a0 I am just trying to get some of this down.\n\t\t\t<\/p>\n\t\t\t<p>\n\t\t\t\t<strong>Hayley:<\/strong><strong>\u00a0 <\/strong>Okay.\n\t\t\t<\/p>\n\t\t\t<p>\n\t\t\t\t<strong>Michael:<\/strong><strong>\u00a0 <\/strong>I thought this was the single\u2019s segment.\u00a0 (laughter)\n\t\t\t<\/p>\n\t\t\t<p>\n\t\t\t\t<strong>Dennis:<\/strong><strong>\u00a0 <\/strong>It is; it is.\u00a0 But there is\u2026\n\t\t\t<\/p>\n\t\t\t<p>\n\t\t\t\t<strong>Bob:<\/strong><strong>\u00a0 <\/strong>It applies for married men, too.\u00a0 \n\t\t\t<\/p>\n\t\t\t<p>\n\t\t\t\t<strong>Dennis:<\/strong><strong>\u00a0 <\/strong>There is help for men.\u00a0 Okay, let\u2019s take the other half of the deal\u2014using romance to get sex.\u00a0 That is how guys operate, right Michael?\n\t\t\t<\/p>\n\t\t\t<p>\n\t\t\t\t<strong>Michael:<\/strong><strong>\u00a0 <\/strong>That is what I have been told.\u00a0 No, that is\u2026yes, that is.\u00a0 (laughter)\u00a0 That was\u2026I resemble that remark back in my\u2026\n\t\t\t<\/p>\n\t\t\t<p>\n\t\t\t\t<strong>Dennis:<\/strong><strong>\u00a0 <\/strong>Our engineer, Keith, just fell off his chair in the recording area.\u00a0 \n\t\t\t<\/p>\n\t\t\t<p>\n\t\t\t\t<strong>Bob:<\/strong><strong>\u00a0 <\/strong>What you are identifying though is guys who will say, \u201cOkay, if I talk sweet to her, then maybe she will warm up, cuddle a little bit,\u201d you know.\u00a0 So a guy says, \u201cI don\u2019t mind talking sweet if it leads to some cuddling later on.\u201d\u00a0 Right?\n\t\t\t<\/p>\n\t\t\t<p>\n\t\t\t\t<strong>Michael:<\/strong><strong>\u00a0 <\/strong>That is right.\u00a0 It is not all the nefarious characters out there like the Fanzine, with the leather jacket and the Camano with T-tops.\u00a0 I know they don\u2019t make those anymore; I am dating myself.\u00a0 It is also the nice good-intentioned Christian guy who will use romance to get that little cuddle, to get that little extra nuzzle.\n\t\t\t<\/p>\n\t\t\t<p>\n\t\t\t\t<strong>Hayley:<\/strong><strong>\u00a0 <\/strong>You know, he may even use it just to get her attention.\u00a0 As far as, he might not want just even physical.\u00a0 Am I wrong?\n\t\t\t<\/p>\n\t\t\t<p>\n\t\t\t\t<strong>Dennis:<\/strong><strong>\u00a0 <\/strong>Now wait a second.\u00a0 At that point, you are encroaching on rightness or wrongness of romance.\n\t\t\t<\/p>\n\t\t\t<p>\n\t\t\t\t<strong>Hayley:<\/strong><strong>\u00a0 <\/strong>I know.\u00a0 It becomes a delicate rope.\u00a0 What I really want guys to understand is that romance is the language of love\u2014literally.\u00a0 When women experience romance, they <strong>feel<\/strong> love.\u00a0 So, if you don\u2019t really mean that you are ready to be married tomorrow, then don\u2019t start pouring on the romance because in her mind that means you have already taken that step. She has already moved that way.\n\t\t\t<\/p>\n\t\t\t<p>\n\t\t\t\t<strong>Bob:<\/strong><strong>\u00a0 <\/strong>We have always told our boys as we were raising them, \u201cYou don\u2019t say to a young woman, \u2018I love you\u2019 unless the next words are, \u2018Will you marry me?\u2019\u201d\u00a0 That needs to go together.\u00a0 I didn\u2019t know that when I was dating Mary Ann.\u00a0 I mean, I told her I loved her within weeks after dating her.\u00a0 What I was saying was, \u201cI really like you.\u00a0 You are really special, and I enjoy being with you.\u201d\n\t\t\t<\/p>\n\t\t\t<p>\n\t\t\t\t<strong>Hayley:<\/strong><strong>\u00a0 <\/strong>That\u2019s right.\u00a0 \n\t\t\t<\/p>\n\t\t\t<p>\n\t\t\t\t<strong>Dennis:<\/strong><strong>\u00a0 <\/strong>You had no idea what those words meant? \n\t\t\t<\/p>\n\t\t\t<p>\n\t\t\t\t<strong>Bob:<\/strong><strong>\u00a0 <\/strong>I had no idea that in her soul, that means, \u201cYou have selected me among all the women of the world to be committed to.\u201d\n\t\t\t<\/p>\n\t\t\t<p>\n\t\t\t\t<strong>Dennis:<\/strong><strong>\u00a0 <\/strong>She is half-way down the wedding aisle.\u00a0 \n\t\t\t<\/p>\n\t\t\t<p>\n\t\t\t\t<strong>Bob:<\/strong><strong>\u00a0 <\/strong>Yes.\u00a0 I wasn\u2019t thinking of that.\u00a0 \n\t\t\t<\/p>\n\t\t\t<p>\n\t\t\t\t<strong>Hayley:<\/strong><strong>\u00a0 <\/strong>I can remember just driving through neighborhoods and saying, \u201cLet\u2019s go look at houses,\u201d with a guy I was dating.\u00a0 By him bringing that up and saying, \u201cIt would just be fun to do on a Sunday.\u201d\u00a0 In my mind, we were looking at the house we were going to buy to be married.\u00a0 That is not what he was thinking.\u00a0 He thought, \u201cWell, she likes looking at houses; I\u2019ll make her happy.\u201d\u00a0 But women walk down a path when men start to offer romance.\u00a0 \n\t\t\t<\/p>\n\t\t\t<p>\n\t\t\t\t<strong>Dennis:<\/strong><strong>\u00a0 <\/strong>This is when guys have to use discretion, and they have to have a DTR (define the relationship).\u00a0 You define it--not romantically, not physically\u2014but you define it verbally, which takes a whole lot more courage for a man because he would rather not speak of his love for a woman because that means he is accountable\u2014he is on-the-line.\u00a0 \n\t\t\t<\/p>\n\t\t\t<p>\n\t\t\t\tI think if there was ever a generation of young men and young women who needed to pull back, and take a step, and take a look at their cupidity factor, it is today.\u00a0 I think we have a ton of singles who have been mesmerized by the culture.\u00a0 They have taken nearly all of their cues from movies, novels, online dating, etc., so that they don\u2019t have a biblical viewpoint of what love is and what love does.\u00a0 \n\t\t\t<\/p>\n\t\t\t<p>\n\t\t\t\t<strong>Bob:<\/strong><strong>\u00a0 <\/strong>I\u2019m watching singles play \u201cmarried\u201d long before they get married.\u00a0 \u201cWe share finances,\u201d or\u2026.\n\t\t\t<\/p>\n\t\t\t<p>\n\t\t\t\t<strong>Dennis:<\/strong><strong>\u00a0 <\/strong>That is #24 in Physical Acts of Cupidity\u2014\u201cshacking up.\u201d\n\t\t\t<\/p>\n\t\t\t<p>\n\t\t\t\t<strong>Bob:<\/strong><strong>\u00a0 <\/strong>Well, yes.\u00a0 Some folks are \u201cshacking up,\u201d they are doing all of that; but other folks are still living apart, but they go ahead and blend their finances or she does the laundry for him, that kind of thing. \n\t\t\t<\/p>\n\t\t\t<p>\n\t\t\t\t<strong>Hayley:<\/strong><strong>\u00a0 <\/strong>Right.\n\t\t\t<\/p>\n\t\t\t<p>\n\t\t\t\t<strong>Dennis:<\/strong><strong>\u00a0 <\/strong>I have got to understand this.\u00a0 Blending finances before marriage?\u00a0 That is happening?\n\t\t\t<\/p>\n\t\t\t<p>\n\t\t\t\t<strong>Michael:<\/strong><strong>\u00a0 <\/strong>Oh, yes.\u00a0 \n\t\t\t<\/p>\n\t\t\t<p>\n\t\t\t\t<strong>Hayley:<\/strong><strong>\u00a0 <\/strong>Definitely.\u00a0 \u201cOh, we are going to get married anyway; so why don\u2019t we buy the boat right now?\u201d or, \u201cWe can start buying things together.\u201d\n\t\t\t<\/p>\n\t\t\t<p>\n\t\t\t\t<strong>Bob:<\/strong><strong>\u00a0 <\/strong>Get both of our names on the condo lease.\u00a0 We couldn\u2019t afford the condo lease if we didn\u2019t.\u00a0 \n\t\t\t<\/p>\n\t\t\t<p>\n\t\t\t\t<strong>Hayley:<\/strong><strong>\u00a0 <\/strong>Right.\n\t\t\t<\/p>\n\t\t\t<p>\n\t\t\t\t<strong>Michael:<\/strong><strong>\u00a0 <\/strong>Or Bubba\u2019s credit history is awful; and so he gets Suzie to buy him his jet ski, things like that. \n\t\t\t<\/p>\n\t\t\t<p>\n\t\t\t\t<strong>Bob:<\/strong><strong>\u00a0 <\/strong>This again goes back to a woman thinking, \u201cI want so much to be loved that I\u2019ll go ahead and compromise my financial position or even move in just to do that.\u201d\u00a0 Right? \n\t\t\t<\/p>\n\t\t\t<p>\n\t\t\t\t<strong>Hayley:<\/strong><strong>\u00a0 <\/strong>Yes, definitely.\u00a0 I think women are:\u00a0 we are very intuitive; we are smart; we know what to do; we know how to run our lives; we have businesses, cars and houses.\u00a0 So we translate that into our relationships; and we say, \u201cWell if I want that, I\u2019ll just do what needs to be done to get that relationship.\u201d\u00a0 \n\t\t\t<\/p>\n\t\t\t<p>\n\t\t\t\tThey take charge by doing things like this that they think will arrange the relationship, also, in just taking over the relationship.\u00a0 Dennis, you talked about the DTR, defining the relationship.\u00a0 Men aren\u2019t doing that, so women are doing it.\u00a0 \n\t\t\t<\/p>\n\t\t\t<p>\n\t\t\t\t<strong>Dennis:<\/strong><strong>\u00a0 <\/strong>They are.\u00a0 You are saying that some women take charge.\u00a0 I\u2019m seeing the words, \u201centrapment,\u201d here.\u00a0 \n\t\t\t<\/p>\n\t\t\t<p>\n\t\t\t\t(laughter)\u00a0 \n\t\t\t<\/p>\n\t\t\t<p>\n\t\t\t\tSeriously, by buying a house together or putting your name on a boat together before you are engaged.\n\t\t\t<\/p>\n\t\t\t<p>\n\t\t\t\t<strong>Hayley:<\/strong><strong>\u00a0 <\/strong>Yes.\n\t\t\t<\/p>\n\t\t\t<p>\n\t\t\t\t<strong>Michael:<\/strong><strong>\u00a0 <\/strong>That\u2019s right.\u00a0 It works both ways.\u00a0 The interesting thing about what Hayley was talking about as far as taking charge\u2014we used to have this image of women would shack up with men because they wanted to feel provided for, and they were the meeker one in the relationship.\u00a0 \n\t\t\t<\/p>\n\t\t\t<p>\n\t\t\t\tNow we are actually seeing that flip like she is talking about.\u00a0 Where women are just saying, \u201cYou know, I am going to define the relationship; and if he grunts anything affirmative, then we are good to go.\u201d\u00a0 The guy is just not talking, clamming up.\n\t\t\t<\/p>\n\t\t\t<p>\n\t\t\t\t<strong>Bob:<\/strong><strong>\u00a0 <\/strong>As I am listening to the two of you, I am going to ask this question and let you guys give the answer so you get in trouble instead of me, okay?\u00a0 \n\t\t\t<\/p>\n\t\t\t<p>\n\t\t\t\t<strong>Hayley:<\/strong><strong>\u00a0 <\/strong>Thanks.\n\t\t\t<\/p>\n\t\t\t<p>\n\t\t\t\t<strong>Michael:<\/strong><strong>\u00a0 <\/strong>That is why we are here.\u00a0 \n\t\t\t<\/p>\n\t\t\t<p>\n\t\t\t\t(laughter)\n\t\t\t<\/p>\n\t\t\t<p>\n\t\t\t\t<strong>Bob:<\/strong><strong>\u00a0 <\/strong>Is it true that women tend to be more relationally stupid than men?\u00a0 \n\t\t\t<\/p>\n\t\t\t<p>\n\t\t\t\t<strong>Hayley:<\/strong><strong>\u00a0 <\/strong>Wow!\u00a0 I didn\u2019t think that is what you were going to say.\u00a0 I thought you were going to say, \u201cThey tend to be more relationally-oriented, and I think that might be why they come out looking like they are more stupid because they base everything on that.\u201d\n\t\t\t<\/p>\n\t\t\t<p>\n\t\t\t\t<strong>Bob:<\/strong><strong>\u00a0 <\/strong>So they would be more likely, we would think, to make compromises in the relational dynamic because they are more relationally-oriented.\u00a0 \n\t\t\t<\/p>\n\t\t\t<p>\n\t\t\t\t<strong>Dennis:<\/strong><strong>\u00a0 <\/strong>I don\u2019t know, though, Bob.\u00a0 I start thinking about the cupidity of men, and I am not down on men.\n\t\t\t<\/p>\n\t\t\t<p>\n\t\t\t\t<strong>Bob:<\/strong><strong>\u00a0 <\/strong>Right.\n\t\t\t<\/p>\n\t\t\t<p>\n\t\t\t\t<strong>Dennis:<\/strong><strong>\u00a0 <\/strong>But I am not sure about the cupidity factor of men at this point.\u00a0 I think it may surpass women.\u00a0 \n\t\t\t<\/p>\n\t\t\t<p>\n\t\t\t\t<strong>\u00a0<\/strong>\n\t\t\t<\/p>\n\t\t\t<p>\n\t\t\t\t<strong>Michael:<\/strong><strong>\u00a0 <\/strong>I think that men are much more inelegant as far as their acts of cupidity (laughter), whereas they are much more obvious.\u00a0 They are like, you know, it\u2019s not a good idea to go outside in a snowstorm wearing shorts.\u00a0 That is like obvious cupidity.\u00a0 \n\t\t\t<\/p>\n\t\t\t<p>\n\t\t\t\tWhereas I think the acts of cupidity that women tend to fall prey to are much more subtle.\u00a0 It is almost like our old, \u201cMen lie to get what they want, but women lie to themselves to get what they want.\u201d\u00a0 It is more of an elegant cupidity that women have going for them.\n\t\t\t<\/p>\n\t\t\t<p>\n\t\t\t\t<strong>Bob:<\/strong><strong>\u00a0 <\/strong>One of the things you list as an act of cupidity for singles is to date someone who is from a different faith.\n\t\t\t<\/p>\n\t\t\t<p>\n\t\t\t\t<strong>Hayley:<\/strong><strong>\u00a0 <\/strong>Missionary dating.\u00a0 \n\t\t\t<\/p>\n\t\t\t<p>\n\t\t\t\t<strong>Dennis:<\/strong><strong>\u00a0 <\/strong>Yes.\u00a0 I did that as a single.\n\t\t\t<\/p>\n\t\t\t<p>\n\t\t\t\t<strong>Hayley:<\/strong><strong>\u00a0 <\/strong>Did you?\u00a0 How did it work for you?\n\t\t\t<\/p>\n\t\t\t<p>\n\t\t\t\t<strong>Dennis:<\/strong><strong>\u00a0 <\/strong>For a month it was exciting.\n\t\t\t<\/p>\n\t\t\t<p>\n\t\t\t\t<strong>Hayley:<\/strong><strong>\u00a0 <\/strong>Yes.\n\t\t\t<\/p>\n\t\t\t<p>\n\t\t\t\t<strong>Dennis:<\/strong><strong>\u00a0 <\/strong>I had\u2026\n\t\t\t<\/p>\n\t\t\t<p>\n\t\t\t\t<strong>Michael:<\/strong><strong>\u00a0 <\/strong>Doing the Lord\u2019s work.\n\t\t\t<\/p>\n\t\t\t<p>\n\t\t\t\t<strong>Dennis:<\/strong><strong>\u00a0 <\/strong>I was!\u00a0 I mean it was like 20 young ladies in one month.\u00a0 I had a bunch of blind dates.\u00a0 Yet, when I gave my dating life to God and He didn\u2019t give it back to me for about a year, I got the point that missionary dating was dangerous.\u00a0 To date somebody who doesn\u2019t share, not just sharing the faith, where, \u201cYes, you both go to church,\u201d\u2014no\u2014but those who share the same core beliefs and convictions and are passionate about their walk\u2026\n\t\t\t<\/p>\n\t\t\t<p>\n\t\t\t\t<strong>Bob:<\/strong><strong>\u00a0 <\/strong>The same level of intensity, right.\n\t\t\t<\/p>\n\t\t\t<p>\n\t\t\t\t<strong>Dennis:<\/strong><strong>\u00a0 <\/strong>A walk with Jesus Christ where He governs my life.\u00a0 My surrender to Him is the bottom line of life.\n\t\t\t<\/p>\n\t\t\t<p>\n\t\t\t\t<strong>Hayley:<\/strong><strong>\u00a0 <\/strong>I think a lot of people don\u2019t know that God\u2019s Word forbids us to be unequally yoked.\u00a0 We can\u2019t be yoked, connected, hooked together, and married with someone who hates God; and unfortunately that\u2019s your choice\u2014you love God or you hate God.\u00a0 \n\t\t\t<\/p>\n\t\t\t<p>\n\t\t\t\tIn these relationships with people of a different faith, you are first of all, sinning.\u00a0 But second of all, you are destining yourself to a terrible life.\u00a0 I have a lot of friends who are married to men who aren\u2019t believers; and it is <strong>very <\/strong>difficult because the very core of your being, the God who you worship, the God who you do everything around, your husband doesn\u2019t respect.\n\t\t\t<\/p>\n\t\t\t<p>\n\t\t\t\t<strong>Dennis:<\/strong><strong>\u00a0 <\/strong>Hayley, I want to break your choices down to three.\u00a0 Love God, hate God, <strong>or <\/strong>ignore God\u2014neutral about God.\n\t\t\t<\/p>\n\t\t\t<p>\n\t\t\t\t<strong>Michael:<\/strong><strong>\u00a0 <\/strong>Ambivalent.\u00a0 \n\t\t\t<\/p>\n\t\t\t<p>\n\t\t\t\t<strong>Dennis:<\/strong><strong>\u00a0 <\/strong>Lukewarm about God. In my opinion, it is easy to spot the hatred toward God\u2014that is there.\u00a0 The problem is because of a guy\u2019s desire for romance, sex, love, companionship for a woman and a wife, he may fake\u2026\n\t\t\t<\/p>\n\t\t\t<p>\n\t\t\t\t<strong>Bob:<\/strong><strong>\u00a0 <\/strong>\u201cI\u2019ll go to church with you.\u00a0 Yeah, I don\u2019t mind going to church.\u201d\n\t\t\t<\/p>\n\t\t\t<p>\n\t\t\t\t<strong>Dennis:<\/strong><strong>\u00a0 <\/strong>He may fake that.\u00a0 That is why a young lady has to look at the track record of the young man to make sure his newfound faith did not accompany his newfound love for a young lady.\n\t\t\t<\/p>\n\t\t\t<p>\n\t\t\t\t<strong>Michael:<\/strong><strong>\u00a0 <\/strong>It doesn\u2019t just go one direction with the sexes; because I lived a portion of my life where I would carefully craft my question, my initial questions about a perspective date\u2019s faith so that it made it easy for me to check that off.\u00a0\u00a0 Like, \u201cSo, do you believe in God?\u201d\u00a0 \u201cOh, yeah.\u201d\u00a0 \u201cSo, do you celebrate Christmas?\u201d\u00a0 \u201cOh, yeah.\u201d\u00a0 Okay, we can go from there.\u00a0 \n\t\t\t<\/p>\n\t\t\t<p>\n\t\t\t\t(laughter)\n\t\t\t<\/p>\n\t\t\t<p>\n\t\t\t\t<strong>Dennis:<\/strong><strong>\u00a0 <\/strong>Pick the major holidays; is that it?\n\t\t\t<\/p>\n\t\t\t<p>\n\t\t\t\t<strong>Michael:<\/strong><strong>\u00a0 <\/strong>Yes, exactly.\u00a0 You know the CEO\u2019s\u2014Christmas, Easter, Only.\u00a0 \n\t\t\t<\/p>\n\t\t\t<p>\n\t\t\t\t<strong>Bob:<\/strong><strong>\u00a0 <\/strong>You look at this, and here\u2019s how the hook gets set for singles. There is something that will happen, either there is a physical attractiveness\u2014you see a guy, you see a girl, and you say, \u201cWow,\u201d and the hook is initially set; <strong>or <\/strong>it goes to the next level where there is some emotional chemistry that goes on, and the hook gets set.\u00a0 \n\t\t\t<\/p>\n\t\t\t<p>\n\t\t\t\tOnce that is set and you find out, \u201cOkay, we are not on the same page spiritually, but it is still so nice.\u00a0 He is such a nice guy.\u00a0 She is such a sweet girl.\u00a0 She has a good heart, and she seems kind and generous.\u00a0 I know the \u2018God-thing\u2019 will come around after a while.\u201d\u00a0 You are saying, \u201cDanger!\u00a0 Danger!\u201d\u00a0 Will Robinson, right?\u00a0 \n\t\t\t<\/p>\n\t\t\t<p>\n\t\t\t\t<strong>Hayley:<\/strong><strong>\u00a0 <\/strong>That is right.\u00a0 The chances of him or her coming around, as you say, to your faith\u2014they are unknown.\u00a0 More than likely they are slim, but the mere fact that they are unknown says that you are putting all your faith in a hope that is not God.\u00a0 We are to put our faith and our hope in God and, therefore, in His Word.\u00a0 His Word says we are not to be unequally yoked.\u00a0 If we think all it is how I feel around the person, then we are set up for disaster.\n\t\t\t<\/p>\n\t\t\t<p>\n\t\t\t\t<strong>Michael:<\/strong><strong>\u00a0 <\/strong>Women tend to make that colossal mistake about dating someone that does not have the faith required for a proper marriage and relationship because of #14, loving who you want him to be instead of who he is.\u00a0 Men make a converse mistake, and that is #15, loving who she was instead of who she is\u2014that is a rearview mirror thing.\u00a0 \n\t\t\t<\/p>\n\t\t\t<p>\n\t\t\t\t<strong>Dennis:<\/strong><strong>\u00a0 <\/strong>For the person who is in a relationship and listening to our broadcast right now and is thinking, \u201cI don\u2019t know if this is a good relationship,\u201d #39 would be a good one to finish up the broadcast on, not knowing how to break up.\u00a0 \n\t\t\t<\/p>\n\t\t\t<p>\n\t\t\t\tYou know, this ministry started back in 1976.\u00a0 We used to counsel every couple who came to the Weekend to Remember\u00ae.\u00a0 They were all engaged or contemplating engagement.\u00a0 We would have 200 people, a hundred couples, attending our conference and we would be up until 1, 2 o\u2019clock in the morning\u2026\n\t\t\t<\/p>\n\t\t\t<p>\n\t\t\t\t<strong>Bob:<\/strong><strong>\u00a0 <\/strong>You were doing one-on-one counseling?\n\t\t\t<\/p>\n\t\t\t<p>\n\t\t\t\t<strong>Dennis:<\/strong><strong>\u00a0 <\/strong>One-on-one counseling.\u00a0 I\u2019m telling you; it was unbelievable.\u00a0 \n\t\t\t<\/p>\n\t\t\t<p>\n\t\t\t\t<strong>Bob:<\/strong><strong>\u00a0 <\/strong>Yes.\n\t\t\t<\/p>\n\t\t\t<p>\n\t\t\t\t<strong>Dennis:<\/strong><strong>\u00a0 <\/strong>I\u2019m telling you.\u00a0 One of the most frequent conversations we had with these singles was drawing a line and saying, \u201cYou know what, you all need to decide if you are going to get married or if you are going to break this thing off.\u201d\u00a0 \n\t\t\t<\/p>\n\t\t\t<p>\n\t\t\t\tFor many of the couples, the best thing for them to do was to break it off because they had developed an unhealthy relationship around, as you would put it, cupidity\u2014something stupid about love where they were going to experience the reality of it but it would be too late after they \u201ctied the knot.\u201d\u00a0 \n\t\t\t<\/p>\n\t\t\t<p>\n\t\t\t\t<strong>Bob:<\/strong><strong>\u00a0 <\/strong>I am interested to see how many of our stupid single listeners (laughter) are going to call to get a copy of this book.\u00a0 Aren\u2019t you?\u00a0 I mean to just see\u2026I\u2019m just wondering.\u00a0 \n\t\t\t<\/p>\n\t\t\t<p>\n\t\t\t\t<strong>Dennis:<\/strong><strong>\u00a0 <\/strong>I just want our singles to know we love you, we are here every day to help you get a biblical perspective of love;
