I mean you went to the University of Arkansas didn\u2019t you?\n\t\t\t<\/p>\n\t\t\t<p>\n\t\t\t\t<strong>Dennis:<\/strong>\u00a0 Yes, that\u2019s correct.\n\t\t\t<\/p>\n\t\t\t<p>\n\t\t\t\t<strong>Bob:<\/strong>\u00a0 And you\u2019ve been a Razorback fan pretty much all of your life?\n\t\t\t<\/p>\n\t\t\t<p>\n\t\t\t\t<strong>Dennis:<\/strong>\u00a0 I have, I have.\u00a0 But, but I do have a\u2026\n\t\t\t<\/p>\n\t\t\t<p>\n\t\t\t\t<strong>Bob:<\/strong>\u00a0 I just sense there was a little\u2026\n\t\t\t<\/p>\n\t\t\t<p>\n\t\t\t\t<strong>Dennis:<\/strong>\u00a0 It actually started to shift a little before then, but I can\u2019t say that I have turned in my Razorback card.\u00a0 I\u2019ve just picked\u2026\n\t\t\t<\/p>\n\t\t\t<p>\n\t\t\t\t<strong>Bob:<\/strong>\u00a0 You just picked up a Bulldog card along the way\u2026\n\t\t\t<\/p>\n\t\t\t<p>\n\t\t\t\t<strong>Dennis:<\/strong>\u00a0 I pulled up a Bulldog card.\u00a0 I was for them last year when they were ranked No. 1.\u00a0 I really like Mark Richt and now I like Katharyn because I had a chance to meet her.\u00a0 But they started No. 1 and I thought what a great opportunity that would be to be No. 1.\u00a0\u00a0 I was really pulling for them last year.\n\t\t\t<\/p>\n\t\t\t<p>\n\t\t\t\t<strong>Bob:<\/strong>\u00a0 I haven\u2019t seen the polls, are you starting No. 1 this year?\u00a0 \n\t\t\t<\/p>\n\t\t\t<p>\n\t\t\t\t<strong>Mark:<\/strong>\u00a0 No sir, I would say, somewhere around 12 to 15, I would guess, 10 to 15.\n\t\t\t<\/p>\n\t\t\t<p>\n\t\t\t\t<strong>Bob:<\/strong>\u00a0 But you will be No. 1 by the end of the season?\n\t\t\t<\/p>\n\t\t\t<p>\n\t\t\t\t<strong>Mark:<\/strong>\u00a0 Well, you never know, (Laughter) Lord willing.\n\t\t\t<\/p>\n\t\t\t<p>\n\t\t\t\t<strong>Dennis:<\/strong>\u00a0 Well, if you don\u2019t know, that is the head coach of the Georgia Bulldogs, he coaches in the SEC.\u00a0 He was coach of the year twice and his wife Katharyn.\u00a0 Katharyn welcome to <em>FamilyLife Today.<\/em>\n\t\t\t<\/p>\n\t\t\t<p>\n\t\t\t\t<strong>Katharyn:<\/strong>\u00a0 Thank you, it\u2019s good to be here.\n\t\t\t<\/p>\n\t\t\t<p>\n\t\t\t\t<strong>Dennis:<\/strong>\u00a0 You know, I want to hear a little of the romance and how this relationship started.\u00a0 Earlier we heard that Mark had become a Christian and undoubtedly as a result of becoming a follower of Christ his choices and who he dated and the type of young ladies he dated, is this true, Mark, changed?\n\t\t\t<\/p>\n\t\t\t<p>\n\t\t\t\t<strong>Mark:<\/strong>\u00a0 Well, actually Katharyn probably has another version of this.\u00a0 I think by the time I became a believer we were already going pretty steady at the time.\n\t\t\t<\/p>\n\t\t\t<p>\n\t\t\t\t<strong>Katharyn:<\/strong>\u00a0 We were.\n\t\t\t<\/p>\n\t\t\t<p>\n\t\t\t\t<strong>Dennis:<\/strong>\u00a0 Oh really? \n\t\t\t<\/p>\n\t\t\t<p>\n\t\t\t\t<strong>Mark:<\/strong>\u00a0 As a matter of fact, not long after that which is within a couple weeks, the Billy Graham Crusade came through town and we went to that together.\n\t\t\t<\/p>\n\t\t\t<p>\n\t\t\t\t<strong>Dennis:<\/strong>\u00a0 So, Katharyn, were you a follower of Christ when you were dating Mark?\u00a0 \n\t\t\t<\/p>\n\t\t\t<p>\n\t\t\t\t<strong>Katharyn:<\/strong>\u00a0 You know, I thought that I was, but what I had done was grab my parent\u2019s coat tails thing and I didn\u2019t actually realize I wasn\u2019t until our second son was born. So we had been married probably close to seven or eight years before\u2026\n\t\t\t<\/p>\n\t\t\t<p>\n\t\t\t\t<strong>Dennis:<\/strong>\u00a0 Wow!\n\t\t\t<\/p>\n\t\t\t<p>\n\t\t\t\t<strong>Bob:<\/strong>\u00a0 Well, now wait; you did see a change in Mark?\n\t\t\t<\/p>\n\t\t\t<p>\n\t\t\t\t<strong>Katharyn:<\/strong>\u00a0 Oh, definitely. \n\t\t\t<\/p>\n\t\t\t<p>\n\t\t\t\t<strong>Bob:<\/strong>\u00a0 And did that not cause you to pull back and go what\u2019s going on with him, and what should be going on with me?\n\t\t\t<\/p>\n\t\t\t<p>\n\t\t\t\t<strong>Katharyn:<\/strong>\u00a0 Well, you would think that I would of caught it a little bit earlier, but pride is a very\u2026 \n\t\t\t<\/p>\n\t\t\t<p>\n\t\t\t\t<strong>Bob:<\/strong>\u00a0 Stubborn thing\n\t\t\t<\/p>\n\t\t\t<p>\n\t\t\t\t<strong>Katharyn:<\/strong>\u00a0 Yes, and I had a whole lot of it and still struggle with it today.\n\t\t\t<\/p>\n\t\t\t<p>\n\t\t\t\t<strong>Mark:<\/strong>\u00a0 Plus, she would fall in the category of what Romans talks about, the moral man.\n\t\t\t<\/p>\n\t\t\t<p>\n\t\t\t\t<strong>Dennis:<\/strong>\u00a0 Yes, sure, a very good person.\n\t\t\t<\/p>\n\t\t\t<p>\n\t\t\t\t<strong>\u00a0<\/strong><strong>Mark:<\/strong>\u00a0 Right, still not understanding that we\u2019re born with the sin nature of Adam and so, if you knew Katharyn you would say, \u201cWell, certainly she\u2019s a Christian.\u201d\n\t\t\t<\/p>\n\t\t\t<p>\n\t\t\t\t<strong>Dennis:<\/strong>\u00a0 So how did you meet her?\n\t\t\t<\/p>\n\t\t\t<p>\n\t\t\t\t<strong>Mark:<\/strong>\u00a0 Well, we actually met on a blind date; we were supposed to meet at your roommates place. I, well, I guess if it was your roommates place it was your place, too, but\u2026 \n\t\t\t<\/p>\n\t\t\t<p>\n\t\t\t\t<strong>Dennis:<\/strong>\u00a0 That\u2019s when you were coaching at Florida State?\n\t\t\t<\/p>\n\t\t\t<p>\n\t\t\t\t<strong>Mark:<\/strong>\u00a0 I was a graduate assistant then and Katharyn\u2019s roommate was dating my fellow graduate assistant, Coach Jay Perkins. I was riding in the car with Jay and Liz, her name was Liz, and somehow I blurted out, you know I need to meet a nice girl and then Liz just went crazy.\u00a0 \n\t\t\t<\/p>\n\t\t\t<p>\n\t\t\t\t\u201cOh, I\u2019ve got this perfect girl for you.\u00a0 She\u2019s tall and beautiful and elegant and I think she said she was like 21, and when she was probably still 19 at the time.\u00a0 I was a little bit older, I\u2019m about 5 years older, anyway that\u2019s how it started.\u00a0 So we were going to have a blind date, but we accidently met in Publix as we were both getting prepared for the date.\u00a0 Jay and I were trying to get some money and I don\u2019t know pricing some food for the night.\n\t\t\t<\/p>\n\t\t\t<p>\n\t\t\t\t<strong>Dennis:<\/strong>\u00a0 So, Katharyn, you dated about how long then?\n\t\t\t<\/p>\n\t\t\t<p>\n\t\t\t\t<strong>Katharyn:<\/strong>\u00a0 We actually dated for a year and a half and we were married within a year and a half of meeting each other.\n\t\t\t<\/p>\n\t\t\t<p>\n\t\t\t\t<strong>Dennis:<\/strong>\u00a0 Okay. \n\t\t\t<\/p>\n\t\t\t<p>\n\t\t\t\t<strong>Bob:<\/strong>\u00a0 Were you smitten with him first time out of the box?\n\t\t\t<\/p>\n\t\t\t<p>\n\t\t\t\t<strong>Katharyn:<\/strong>\u00a0 I knew within two weeks that I would be blessed to be married to Mark, although I wouldn\u2019t have termed it as that at the time.\u00a0 He was something special.\u00a0 We talked a lot.\u00a0 We were actually best friends is what happened and I never thought he would have fallen for me.\n\t\t\t<\/p>\n\t\t\t<p>\n\t\t\t\t<strong>Mark:<\/strong>\u00a0 We started out as buddies.\n\t\t\t<\/p>\n\t\t\t<p>\n\t\t\t\t<strong>Katharyn:<\/strong>\u00a0 Yes.\n\t\t\t<\/p>\n\t\t\t<p>\n\t\t\t\t<strong>Mark:<\/strong>\u00a0\u00a0 We weren\u2019t going to say it was dating just each other and no one else, but we were very good friends.\u00a0 In the beginning I wasn\u2019t sure she would be the one that I would marry, although I liked her a lot.\u00a0 that.\n\t\t\t<\/p>\n\t\t\t<p>\n\t\t\t\t<strong>Dennis:<\/strong>\u00a0 She\u2019s grinning by the way\n\t\t\t<\/p>\n\t\t\t<p>\n\t\t\t\t<strong>Mark:<\/strong>\u00a0 We were \u2026.\n\t\t\t<\/p>\n\t\t\t<p>\n\t\t\t\t<strong>Dennis:<\/strong>\u00a0 It must be a good story\u2026\n\t\t\t<\/p>\n\t\t\t<p>\n\t\t\t\t<strong>Mark:<\/strong>\u00a0 We were getting towards the end of that buddy stage when she was at my house and we were watching TV with a couple of my roommates.\u00a0 The phone rang and it happened to be another young lady.\u00a0 I was trying to be polite to her on the phone, while Katharyn was there, she was Kathy back then.\u00a0 I actually called her Skinny Buddy, that was my nickname for her back then.\n\t\t\t<\/p>\n\t\t\t<p>\n\t\t\t\tWhen I hung up the phone, she said \u201ctake me home.\u201d\u00a0 And I said, \u201cWhat\u201d?\u00a0 \n\t\t\t<\/p>\n\t\t\t<p>\n\t\t\t\tShe said, \u201cTake me home.\u201d\u00a0 So we jumped in the car.\u00a0 As we started driving her home and she said, \u201cWhat are you doing\u201d?\u00a0 \n\t\t\t<\/p>\n\t\t\t<p>\n\t\t\t\tI said, \u201cI\u2019m taking you home.\u201d\u00a0 She said, \u201cI don\u2019t want to go home.\u201d I said \u201cBut you just said you wanted to go home.\u201d\u00a0 \n\t\t\t<\/p>\n\t\t\t<p>\n\t\t\t\tI finally figured out she didn\u2019t like this friend thing anymore.\u00a0 If it was going to continue, it was going to have to be an exclusive dating relationship and I knew that I was at the moment of truth and I\u2026.\n\t\t\t<\/p>\n\t\t\t<p>\n\t\t\t\t<strong>Dennis:<\/strong>\u00a0 So Skinny Buddy didn\u2019t want any more of the females\u2026\n\t\t\t<\/p>\n\t\t\t<p>\n\t\t\t\t<strong>Mark:<\/strong>\u00a0 Skinny Buddy, yes, she put her foot down\u2026\n\t\t\t<\/p>\n\t\t\t<p>\n\t\t\t\t<strong>Dennis:<\/strong>\u00a0\u00a0 What did you think about that, Katharyn?\n\t\t\t<\/p>\n\t\t\t<p>\n\t\t\t\t<strong>Katharyn:<\/strong>\u00a0 Well, I was really was tired of it.\u00a0 You can only go so long.\u00a0 I mean, I was five years Mark\u2019s junior and he probably was a little bit shocked when I said that because he was not used to that.\u00a0 They called him Boca Baby because all the girls were attracted to him. \n\t\t\t<\/p>\n\t\t\t<p>\n\t\t\t\t<strong>Dennis:<\/strong>\u00a0 Boca?\n\t\t\t<\/p>\n\t\t\t<p>\n\t\t\t\t<strong>Katharyn:<\/strong>\u00a0 You can tell even still. \n\t\t\t<\/p>\n\t\t\t<p>\n\t\t\t\t<strong>Dennis:<\/strong>\u00a0 Baby?\n\t\t\t<\/p>\n\t\t\t<p>\n\t\t\t\t<strong>Katharyn:<\/strong>\u00a0 Boca Baby.\n\t\t\t<\/p>\n\t\t\t<p>\n\t\t\t\t<strong>Mark:<\/strong>\u00a0 Well, I was from Boca Raton.\n\t\t\t<\/p>\n\t\t\t<p>\n\t\t\t\t<strong>Dennis:<\/strong>\u00a0 Oh, I understand.\n\t\t\t<\/p>\n\t\t\t<p>\n\t\t\t\t<strong>Mark:<\/strong>\u00a0 That was my college nickname, Boca baby.\n\t\t\t<\/p>\n\t\t\t<p>\n\t\t\t\t<strong>Katharyn:<\/strong>\u00a0 Yes, he is used to having the women fawn all over him and so I think that when I finally just said, \u201cOkay, that\u2019s it.\u00a0 I\u2019m done playing this game whatever it is.\u201d\n\t\t\t<\/p>\n\t\t\t<p>\n\t\t\t\t<strong>Bob:<\/strong>\u00a0 So it was ok for a while, that he had these women interested in him.\n\t\t\t<\/p>\n\t\t\t<p>\n\t\t\t\t<strong>Katharyn:<\/strong>\u00a0 Well, we really were best friends.\n\t\t\t<\/p>\n\t\t\t<p>\n\t\t\t\t<strong>Bob:<\/strong>\u00a0 Well, when did you start to go, \u201cI don\u2019t like this anymore?\u201d\n\t\t\t<\/p>\n\t\t\t<p>\n\t\t\t\t<strong>Katharyn:<\/strong>\u00a0 Well, I guess when I had fallen in love with him and then it started to hurt.\n\t\t\t<\/p>\n\t\t\t<p>\n\t\t\t\t<strong>Bob:<\/strong>\u00a0 Yes.\n\t\t\t<\/p>\n\t\t\t<p>\n\t\t\t\t<strong>Katharyn:<\/strong>\u00a0 and that\u2019s when He\u2019d been buddies with this girl for three and a half years and it\u2019s like get off the fence.\u00a0 What the young lady needs to do is call for the question.\u00a0 Ask him \u2026\n\t\t\t<\/p>\n\t\t\t<p>\n\t\t\t\t<strong>Bob:<\/strong>\u00a0 What are your intentions\u2026?\n\t\t\t<\/p>\n\t\t\t<p>\n\t\t\t\t<strong>Dennis:<\/strong>\u00a0 What are your intentions and that\u2019s what she did with you.\n\t\t\t<\/p>\n\t\t\t<p>\n\t\t\t\t<strong>Mark:<\/strong>\u00a0 Yes, she did.\n\t\t\t<\/p>\n\t\t\t<p>\n\t\t\t\t<strong>Dennis:<\/strong>\u00a0 and so\u2026\n\t\t\t<\/p>\n\t\t\t<p>\n\t\t\t\t<strong>Mark:<\/strong>\u00a0 It worked, it worked well.\n\t\t\t<\/p>\n\t\t\t<p>\n\t\t\t\t(laughter)\n\t\t\t<\/p>\n\t\t\t<p>\n\t\t\t\t<strong>Mark:<\/strong>\u00a0 Do you know after we began to date exclusively, I told her \u201cKathy, I will never tell you I love you unless I\u2019m ready to marry you.\u201d \n\t\t\t<\/p>\n\t\t\t<p>\n\t\t\t\t<strong>Bob:<\/strong>\u00a0 Where had you learned that?\n\t\t\t<\/p>\n\t\t\t<p>\n\t\t\t\t<strong>Mark:<\/strong>\u00a0 I learned that\u2026\n\t\t\t<\/p>\n\t\t\t<p>\n\t\t\t\t<strong>Dennis:<\/strong>\u00a0 where?\n\t\t\t<\/p>\n\t\t\t<p>\n\t\t\t\t<strong>Mark:<\/strong>\u00a0 over dating relationships.\n\t\t\t<\/p>\n\t\t\t<p>\n\t\t\t\t<strong>Bob:<\/strong>\u00a0 Where you hadn\u2019t had that same\u2026\n\t\t\t<\/p>\n\t\t\t<p>\n\t\t\t\t<strong>Mark:<\/strong>\u00a0 You tell a girl you love her and it changes everything.\u00a0 It escalates things, and you\u2019re telling her you want to marry her when you say you love her, whether you mean it or not.\n\t\t\t<\/p>\n\t\t\t<p>\n\t\t\t\t<strong>Bob:<\/strong>\u00a0 All you\u2019re really saying is I kind of like you a lot.\n\t\t\t<\/p>\n\t\t\t<p>\n\t\t\t\t<strong>Mark:<\/strong>\u00a0 Right.\u00a0 So I learned those words were very powerful and I would never say that to her unless I was serious about marrying her.\u00a0 Then I told you I loved you somewhere along the way.\u00a0 You tell it, I don\u2019t remember exactly how\u2026\n\t\t\t<\/p>\n\t\t\t<p>\n\t\t\t\t<strong>Katharyn:<\/strong>\u00a0 He totally changed.\u00a0 I could tell our relationship had totally changed.\u00a0 He allowed me to come to the airport to pick him up after a game, which he had never done before.\u00a0\u00a0 I came with a friend and we\u2019d gone go Shoney\u2019s to eat dinner and my friend asked, Mark what are you doing for Christmas?\u00a0 And Mark said, \u201cWell, I don\u2019t know.\u00a0 What are we going to do for Christmas, Skinny Buddy?\u00a0\u00a0 I said, \u201cWell, I don\u2019t know.\u201d\u00a0 He got up and went to the salad bar and I looked at my girlfriend, going \u201ccan you believe he just said that\u201d? \n\t\t\t<\/p>\n\t\t\t<p>\n\t\t\t\tSo, there were things like that because he hadn\u2019t said he loved me yet, but, I knew, there were little clues along the way.\u00a0 Then he actually told me he loved me when we were babysitting my best friend\u2019s child.\u00a0 I guess you could say that was the marriage proposal because once he said that, we started kind of planning the wedding.\n\t\t\t<\/p>\n\t\t\t<p>\n\t\t\t\t<strong>Dennis:<\/strong>\u00a0 So you didn\u2019t really \u2026\n\t\t\t<\/p>\n\t\t\t<p>\n\t\t\t\t<strong>Katharyn:<\/strong>\u00a0 He did, he did, but we already knew\u2026\n\t\t\t<\/p>\n\t\t\t<p>\n\t\t\t\t<strong>Mark:<\/strong>\u00a0 Like I said, I told her, I said earlier, the day I tell you I love you is the day I\u2019m asking you to marry me.\n\t\t\t<\/p>\n\t\t\t<p>\n\t\t\t\t<strong>Bob:<\/strong>\u00a0 But was there a time you dropped to a knee and got out a ring\u2026\n\t\t\t<\/p>\n\t\t\t<p>\n\t\t\t\t<strong>Mark:<\/strong>\u00a0 Well, I did talk to her father and I asked if it was okay, and he said it was fine.\u00a0 Then we\u00a0 had a dinner where I prepared steak and baked potato, I think, and a salad and we did have a little champagne. I\u2019m not sure it was non-alcoholic or not, but we each had a glass of champagne.\u00a0 I put her engagement ring in her glass and she kept sipping away, and sipping away.\u00a0 It took about an hour for her to finally find\u2026 \n\t\t\t<\/p>\n\t\t\t<p>\n\t\t\t\t<strong>Dennis:<\/strong>\u00a0 Oh she didn\u2019t find it?\n\t\t\t<\/p>\n\t\t\t<p>\n\t\t\t\t<strong>Mark:<\/strong>\u00a0 No, the ring finally touched her lips at the very end,\n\t\t\t<\/p>\n\t\t\t<p>\n\t\t\t\t<strong>Bob:<\/strong>\u00a0 You didn\u2019t even see it in there?\n\t\t\t<\/p>\n\t\t\t<p>\n\t\t\t\t<strong>Katharyn:<\/strong>\u00a0 No, I didn\u2019t.\n\t\t\t<\/p>\n\t\t\t<p>\n\t\t\t\t<strong>Mark:<\/strong>\u00a0 I was watching to make sure she didn\u2019t swallow the dumb thing.\u00a0 (Laughing)\n\t\t\t<\/p>\n\t\t\t<p>\n\t\t\t\t<strong>Katharyn:<\/strong>\u00a0 I mean I had never heard of anybody putting it in a drink before, I didn\u2019t know.\u00a0 I did think he was going to ask me that night, but y that time I thought he wasn\u2019t going to ask\u2026\n\t\t\t<\/p>\n\t\t\t<p>\n\t\t\t\t<strong>Bob:<\/strong>\u00a0 So when the ring touched your lips what did you do?\n\t\t\t<\/p>\n\t\t\t<p>\n\t\t\t\t<strong>Katharyn:<\/strong>\u00a0 I kind of went, ahhhh, and then I looked down in there and I was like, ohh, you know, I think he was actually cleaning the dishes already in the kitchen.\u00a0 \n\t\t\t<\/p>\n\t\t\t<p>\n\t\t\t\t(Laughter)\n\t\t\t<\/p>\n\t\t\t<p>\n\t\t\t\t<strong>Bob:<\/strong>\u00a0 Did you cry?\n\t\t\t<\/p>\n\t\t\t<p>\n\t\t\t\t<strong>Katharyn:<\/strong>\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 Yes, I was happy, you know like goofy little kids.\n\t\t\t<\/p>\n\t\t\t<p>\n\t\t\t\t<strong>Bob:<\/strong>\u00a0 You told us earlier, though, that you did not come to faith until after your second child, after David was born?\n\t\t\t<\/p>\n\t\t\t<p>\n\t\t\t\t<strong>Katharyn:<\/strong>\u00a0 Yes, that\u2019s right. \n\t\t\t<\/p>\n\t\t\t<p>\n\t\t\t\t<strong>Bob:<\/strong>\u00a0 So, what was the turning point for you spiritually?\n\t\t\t<\/p>\n\t\t\t<p>\n\t\t\t\t<strong>Katharyn:<\/strong>\u00a0\u00a0 Well, once Mark was saved I went with him to the Billy Graham Crusade.\u00a0\u00a0 We attended a lot of FCA camps and so I was being presented with the gospel a lot.\u00a0 Then we actually started attending Celebration Baptist Church in Tallahassee, Florida and we did a Bible study with Henry Blackaby called, <em>Experiencing God<\/em>.\n\t\t\t<\/p>\n\t\t\t<p>\n\t\t\t\t<strong>Bob:<\/strong>\u00a0 All this time you\u2019re thinking \u201cI\u2019m a Christian?\u201d\n\t\t\t<\/p>\n\t\t\t<p>\n\t\t\t\t<strong>Katharyn:<\/strong>\u00a0 I\u2019m thinking I\u2019m a Christian and finally, God just basically laid it out for me and said, \u201cSister, you\u2019re prideful, you\u2019re not who you think you are, and your defending.\u201d\n\t\t\t<\/p>\n\t\t\t<p>\n\t\t\t\t<strong>Bob:<\/strong>\u00a0 Was there an event that brought that to a head?\n\t\t\t<\/p>\n\t\t\t<p>\n\t\t\t\t<strong>Katharyn:<\/strong>\u00a0 I remember David was 11 days old, it was December 11, 1994.\u00a0 I remember being on my green couch and I was crying and saying, I know that there have been many times at the FCA events and different things where I\u2019ve said, Yes, Lord, I want you. Yes, Lord I submit to you.\u00a0 But I don\u2019t think I truly saw Him as Lord, as Him being the One who is in control and submitting completely to Him for my life, through the prayer actually.\n\t\t\t<\/p>\n\t\t\t<p>\n\t\t\t\t<strong>Bob:<\/strong>\u00a0 When you got home that day, and your wife said guess what happened today, what did you think?\n\t\t\t<\/p>\n\t\t\t<p>\n\t\t\t\t<strong>Mark:<\/strong>\u00a0 I can\u2019t say that I recall that moment.\u00a0 I know what happened, but I can\u2019t say that when I came home that night she blurted it out.\u00a0 I\u2019m not even sure that she did that night.\n\t\t\t<\/p>\n\t\t\t<p>\n\t\t\t\t<strong>Dennis:<\/strong>\u00a0 I\u2019m wondering if you felt like she was or wasn\u2019t a follower of Christ at that point, as her husband.\n\t\t\t<\/p>\n\t\t\t<p>\n\t\t\t\t<strong>Mark:<\/strong>\u00a0 I really thought she was.\u00a0 I don\u2019t know if that moment was just confirmation, as Christ is Lord.\u00a0 She may have been born again already. I don\u2019t know what was in her spirit.\n\t\t\t<\/p>\n\t\t\t<p>\n\t\t\t\t<strong>Bob:<\/strong>\u00a0 We\u2019ll get to heaven and find out won\u2019t we?\n\t\t\t<\/p>\n\t\t\t<p>\n\t\t\t\t<strong>Mark:<\/strong>\u00a0 Yes.\n\t\t\t<\/p>\n\t\t\t<p>\n\t\t\t\t<strong>Katharyn:<\/strong>\u00a0 Yes.\n\t\t\t<\/p>\n\t\t\t<p>\n\t\t\t\t<strong>Bob:<\/strong>\u00a0 That will be fun to do.\n\t\t\t<\/p>\n\t\t\t<p>\n\t\t\t\t<strong>Dennis:<\/strong>\u00a0 There will be a few of us settling that issue.\n\t\t\t<\/p>\n\t\t\t<p>\n\t\t\t\t<strong>Mark:<\/strong>\u00a0 She absolutely surrendered at that point.\n\t\t\t<\/p>\n\t\t\t<p>\n\t\t\t\t<strong>Katharyn:<\/strong>\u00a0 You could tell I had surrendered, because I can remember sitting at Bible study after that with our small group and then Mark would just sit there, he would never be like I told you so kind of mode or I knew you were not, but I could tell by his\u2026\n\t\t\t<\/p>\n\t\t\t<p>\n\t\t\t\t<strong>Mark:<\/strong>\u00a0 The thing I love about Katharyn, really is and we all have pride and prideful moments but she will always submit her will to God and to Jesus.\u00a0 She is a spirit filled woman.\u00a0 And even if she gets off on a tangent one way or another she always in her quiet time turns it over to God and she allows the Holy Spirit to handle it and that\u2019s really been a blessing to our marriage.\n\t\t\t<\/p>\n\t\t\t<p>\n\t\t\t\t<strong>Bob:<\/strong>\u00a0 Was there any change in your marriage after that point?\n\t\t\t<\/p>\n\t\t\t<p>\n\t\t\t\t<strong>Mark:<\/strong>\u00a0 I would say yes.\u00a0 We always did well but I think there was assurance in my mind that we were going to be okay.\u00a0 I knew I would submit my will to God when I had these stubborn spots and I knew she would, too.\u00a0 When we hammered it out face to face sometimes we would let our pride get in the way.\u00a0 But when we would withdraw from the conflict and meditate and really ask God, what\u2019s the right thing to do, we would always come together.\n\t\t\t<\/p>\n\t\t\t<p>\n\t\t\t\t<strong>Bob:<\/strong>\u00a0 Katharyn, you and Mark had an opportunity to attend one of our Weekend to Remember Marriage Conferences, how long into your marriage was that, do you remember?\n\t\t\t<\/p>\n\t\t\t<p>\n\t\t\t\t<strong>Katharyn:<\/strong>\u00a0 Gosh, I don\u2019t remember.\u00a0 I think it was probably maybe two years after David, because I think David was three.\n\t\t\t<\/p>\n\t\t\t<p>\n\t\t\t\t<strong>Bob:<\/strong>\u00a0 And was it your idea that the two of you go?\n\t\t\t<\/p>\n\t\t\t<p>\n\t\t\t\t<strong>Katharyn:<\/strong>\u00a0 I don\u2019t remember whose idea but it might have been just to get away.\u00a0 It wasn\u2019t like he ever fought things like that.\u00a0 He loved to get away.\u00a0 That\u2019s one thing we\u2019ve always done.\u00a0 We realized early on that our children were born because of the love between us and so the best security we can give our children is to maintain and \u2026\n\t\t\t<\/p>\n\t\t\t<p>\n\t\t\t\t<strong>Mark:<\/strong>\u00a0 love each other. \n\t\t\t<\/p>\n\t\t\t<p>\n\t\t\t\t<strong>Katharyn:<\/strong>\u00a0 Yes.\n\t\t\t<\/p>\n\t\t\t<p>\n\t\t\t\t<strong>Bob:<\/strong>\u00a0 Nurture that relationship.\u00a0 Well, I\u2019m guessing it wasn\u2019t a fall conference that you went to because he\u2019s usually busy on the weekends in the fall.\n\t\t\t<\/p>\n\t\t\t<p>\n\t\t\t\t(Laughter)\n\t\t\t<\/p>\n\t\t\t<p>\n\t\t\t\t<strong>Katharyn:<\/strong>\u00a0 It was in April.\n\t\t\t<\/p>\n\t\t\t<p>\n\t\t\t\t<strong>Bob:<\/strong>\u00a0 Okay, and in the middle of spring ball to get away for a weekend is a pretty big sacrifice.\n\t\t\t<\/p>\n\t\t\t<p>\n\t\t\t\t<strong>Mark:<\/strong>\u00a0 It was probably after the spring game and it might have been in the middle of spring recruiting, but you know Coach Bowden has always been great to allow those kinds of things.\n\t\t\t<\/p>\n\t\t\t<p>\n\t\t\t\t<strong>Bob:<\/strong>\u00a0 So you had a weekend away, and do you remember anything about going to the conference?\n\t\t\t<\/p>\n\t\t\t<p>\n\t\t\t\t<strong>Katharyn:<\/strong>\u00a0 Oh, I remember that we got to have a date night and that was fun.\n\t\t\t<\/p>\n\t\t\t<p>\n\t\t\t\t<strong>Bob:<\/strong>\u00a0 Yes.\n\t\t\t<\/p>\n\t\t\t<p>\n\t\t\t\t<strong>Mark:<\/strong>\u00a0 What did we do?\n\t\t\t<\/p>\n\t\t\t<p>\n\t\t\t\t<strong>Katharyn:<\/strong>\u00a0 I think we just had dinner.\n\t\t\t<\/p>\n\t\t\t<p>\n\t\t\t\t<strong>Mark:<\/strong>\u00a0 Yes.\n\t\t\t<\/p>\n\t\t\t<p>\n\t\t\t\t<strong>Katharyn:<\/strong>\u00a0 We went and had dinner and then we came back.\u00a0 We talked a lot.\u00a0 That\u2019s one thing that the conference does.\u00a0 It helps draw out the conversation between us and helps us talk about the issues that are real issues that sometimes in the busyness of life you can kind of let fall by the wayside.\u00a0 But it was so impactful that we bought weekends for all our siblings.\n\t\t\t<\/p>\n\t\t\t<p>\n\t\t\t\t<strong>\u00a0<\/strong><strong>Mark:<\/strong>\u00a0 That\u2019s right.\n\t\t\t<\/p>\n\t\t\t<p>\n\t\t\t\t<strong>Katharyn:<\/strong>\u00a0 And we didn\u2019t have money back then.\n\t\t\t<\/p>\n\t\t\t<p>\n\t\t\t\t<strong>\u00a0<\/strong><strong>Mark:<\/strong>\u00a0 No, we didn\u2019t have any money back then, but we, it was such an impact that we asked every one of our brothers and sisters and their spouses to go.\u00a0 We paid for it.\n\t\t\t<\/p>\n\t\t\t<p>\n\t\t\t\t<strong>Bob:<\/strong>\u00a0 And got them gift certificates.\u00a0 \n\t\t\t<\/p>\n\t\t\t<p>\n\t\t\t\t<strong>Dennis:<\/strong>\u00a0\u00a0 That\u2019s cool.\n\t\t\t<\/p>\n\t\t\t<p>\n\t\t\t\t<strong>Bob:<\/strong>\u00a0 That really is.\n\t\t\t<\/p>\n\t\t\t<p>\n\t\t\t\t<strong>Dennis:<\/strong>\u00a0 That\u2019s cool, you know, just listening to your story hear, the reason your marriage works well is because you both have settled the issue of who is going to be the master.\n\t\t\t<\/p>\n\t\t\t<p>\n\t\t\t\t<strong>\u00a0<\/strong><strong>Mark:<\/strong>\u00a0 That\u2019s right\n\t\t\t<\/p>\n\t\t\t<p>\n\t\t\t\t<strong>Katharyn:<\/strong>\u00a0 Yes.\n\t\t\t<\/p>\n\t\t\t<p>\n\t\t\t\t<strong>Dennis:<\/strong>\u00a0 You both are slaves, slaves of Jesus Christ. \n\t\t\t<\/p>\n\t\t\t<p>\n\t\t\t\t<strong>\u00a0<\/strong><strong>Mark:<\/strong>\u00a0 Bondservants.\n\t\t\t<\/p>\n\t\t\t<p>\n\t\t\t\t<strong>Dennis:<\/strong>\u00a0 That\u2019s right and, as a result of that, you know, if two people\u2019s wills are submitted to the King of Kings and Lord of Lords it\u2019s a whole lot easier for two selfish, sinful people to be able to make a lifetime together.\u00a0 \n\t\t\t<\/p>\n\t\t\t<p>\n\t\t\t\tI know because that\u2019s the story of our thirty-six years of marriage.\u00a0 We\u2019re pretty stubborn people and we had six children and got a number of grandchildren now.\u00a0 There\u2019s a lot going on in our lives and I don\u2019t know how couples would make it without the issue of surrender to Christ being settled.\n\t\t\t<\/p>\n\t\t\t<p>\n\t\t\t\t<strong>\u00a0<\/strong><strong>Mark:<\/strong>\u00a0 They might survive, but that\u2019s about all they are doing is surviving, instead of really thriving in the relationship the way God meant it to be.\n\t\t\t<\/p>\n\t\t\t<p>\n\t\t\t\t<strong>Dennis:<\/strong>\u00a0 There is a purpose for everything that happens.\n\t\t\t<\/p>\n\t\t\t<p>\n\t\t\t\t<strong>Mark:<\/strong>\u00a0 No doubt.\n\t\t\t<\/p>\n\t\t\t<p>\n\t\t\t\t<strong>Dennis:<\/strong>\u00a0 Earlier this week I talked to a friend, and not in a trite way, but there is a lot going on in his life, just one thing after another, and read Romans 8:28 to him.\u00a0 \u201cAll things work together for good, to those who love God, and who are called according to his purpose.\u201d\n\t\t\t<\/p>\n\t\t\t<p>\n\t\t\t\tIf you\u2019re surrendered to Christ, you can rest in the truth of that scripture.\u00a0 That\u2019s a promise.\u00a0 It\u2019s going to work for good.\u00a0 It may not feel good and you may not be able to see the end result and how it\u2019s going to work out.\u00a0 You may not be the national champions like you had hoped you would be.\n\t\t\t<\/p>\n\t\t\t<p>\n\t\t\t\t<strong>Mark:<\/strong>\u00a0 Maybe next year, right?\n\t\t\t<\/p>\n\t\t\t<p>\n\t\t\t\t<strong>Dennis:<\/strong>\u00a0 Like I was hoping you were going to be\u2026\n\t\t\t<\/p>\n\t\t\t<p>\n\t\t\t\t<strong>\u00a0<\/strong><strong>Mark:<\/strong>\u00a0 That\u2019s right, maybe next year.\n\t\t\t<\/p>\n\t\t\t<p>\n\t\t\t\t<strong>Dennis:<\/strong>\u00a0 But you play Arkansas at Arkansas so it\u2019s going to be tough.\n\t\t\t<\/p>\n\t\t\t<p>\n\t\t\t\t<strong>\u00a0<\/strong><strong>Mark:<\/strong>\u00a0 It\u2019s going to be tough.\n\t\t\t<\/p>\n\t\t\t<p>\n\t\t\t\t<strong>Dennis:<\/strong>\u00a0 It\u2019s going to be tough.\n\t\t\t<\/p>\n\t\t\t<p>\n\t\t\t\t(Laughter)\n\t\t\t<\/p>\n\t\t\t<p>\n\t\t\t\t<strong>Mark:<\/strong>\u00a0 Guaranteed.\n\t\t\t<\/p>\n\t\t\t<p>\n\t\t\t\t<strong>Bob:<\/strong>\u00a0\u00a0 You I mean, big, high profile disappointments that are lived out on the sports page of every newspaper across the country.\u00a0 \n\t\t\t<\/p>\n\t\t\t<p>\n\t\t\t\tWhat do you do in the midst of that?\u00a0 How do you reflect what it means to be a follower of Christ when that\u2019s your reality on any given day and it\u2019s a high profile reality?\u00a0 \n\t\t\t<\/p>\n\t\t\t<p>\n\t\t\t\tI great love story today. \n\t\t\t<\/p>\n\t\t\t<p>\n\t\t\t\tWelcome to <em>FamilyLife Today<\/em> thanks for joining us.\u00a0 I have had the sense this week, that maybe I\u2019ve seen your allegiance shift a little bit; I mean you went to the University of Arkansas didn\u2019t you?\n\t\t\t<\/p>\n\t\t\t<p>\n\t\t\t\t<strong>Dennis:<\/strong>\u00a0 Yes, that\u2019s correct.\n\t\t\t<\/p>\n\t\t\t<p>\n\t\t\t\t<strong>Bob:<\/strong>\u00a0 And you\u2019ve been a Razorback fan pretty much all of your life?\n\t\t\t<\/p>\n\t\t\t<p>\n\t\t\t\t<strong>Dennis:<\/strong>\u00a0 I have, I have.\u00a0 But, but I do have a\u2026\n\t\t\t<\/p>\n\t\t\t<p>\n\t\t\t\t<strong>Bob:<\/strong>\u00a0 I just sense there was a little\u2026\n\t\t\t<\/p>\n\t\t\t<p>\n\t\t\t\t<strong>Dennis:<\/strong>\u00a0 It actually started to shift a little before then, but I can\u2019t say that I have turned in my Razorback card.\u00a0 I\u2019ve just picked\u2026\n\t\t\t<\/p>\n\t\t\t<p>\n\t\t\t\t<strong>Bob:<\/strong>\u00a0 You just picked up a Bulldog card along the way\u2026\n\t\t\t<\/p>\n\t\t\t<p>\n\t\t\t\t<strong>Dennis:<\/strong>\u00a0 I pulled up a Bulldog card.\u00a0 I was for them last year when they were ranked No. 1.\u00a0 I really like Mark Richt and now I like Katharyn because I had a chance to meet her.\u00a0 But they started No. 1 and I thought what a great opportunity that would be to be No. 1.\u00a0\u00a0 I was really pulling for them last year.\n\t\t\t<\/p>\n\t\t\t<p>\n\t\t\t\t<strong>Bob:<\/strong>\u00a0 I haven\u2019t seen the polls, are you starting No. 1 this year?\u00a0 \n\t\t\t<\/p>\n\t\t\t<p>\n\t\t\t\t<strong>Mark:<\/strong>\u00a0 No sir, I would say, somewhere around 12 to 15, I would guess, 10 to 15.\n\t\t\t<\/p>\n\t\t\t<p>\n\t\t\t\t<strong>Bob:<\/strong>\u00a0 But you will be No. 1 by the end of the season?\n\t\t\t<\/p>\n\t\t\t<p>\n\t\t\t\t<strong>Mark:<\/strong>\u00a0 Well, you never know, (Laughter) Lord willing.\n\t\t\t<\/p>\n\t\t\t<p>\n\t\t\t\t<strong>Dennis:<\/strong>\u00a0 Well, if you don\u2019t know, that is the head coach of the Georgia Bulldogs, he coaches in the SEC.\u00a0 He was coach of the year twice and his wife Katharyn.\u00a0 Katharyn welcome to <em>FamilyLife Today.<\/em>\n\t\t\t<\/p>\n\t\t\t<p>\n\t\t\t\t<strong>Katharyn:<\/strong>\u00a0 Thank you, it\u2019s good to be here.\n\t\t\t<\/p>\n\t\t\t<p>\n\t\t\t\t<strong>Dennis:<\/strong>\u00a0 You know, I want to hear a little of the romance and how this relationship started.\u00a0 Earlier we heard that Mark had become a Christian and undoubtedly as a result of becoming a follower of Christ his choices and who he dated and the type of young ladies he dated, is this true, Mark, changed?\n\t\t\t<\/p>\n\t\t\t<p>\n\t\t\t\t<strong>Mark:<\/strong>\u00a0 Well, actually Katharyn probably has another version of this.\u00a0 I think by the time I became a believer we were already going pretty steady at the time.\n\t\t\t<\/p>\n\t\t\t<p>\n\t\t\t\t<strong>Katharyn:<\/strong>\u00a0 We were.\n\t\t\t<\/p>\n\t\t\t<p>\n\t\t\t\t<strong>Dennis:<\/strong>\u00a0 Oh really? \n\t\t\t<\/p>\n\t\t\t<p>\n\t\t\t\t<strong>Mark:<\/strong>\u00a0 As a matter of fact, not long after that which is within a couple weeks, the Billy Graham Crusade came through town and we went to that together.\n\t\t\t<\/p>\n\t\t\t<p>\n\t\t\t\t<strong>Dennis:<\/strong>\u00a0 So, Katharyn, were you a follower of Christ when you were dating Mark?\u00a0 \n\t\t\t<\/p>\n\t\t\t<p>\n\t\t\t\t<strong>Katharyn:<\/strong>\u00a0 You know, I thought that I was, but what I had done was grab my parent\u2019s coat tails thing and I didn\u2019t actually realize I wasn\u2019t until our second son was born. So we had been married probably close to seven or eight years before\u2026\n\t\t\t<\/p>\n\t\t\t<p>\n\t\t\t\t<strong>Dennis:<\/strong>\u00a0 Wow!\n\t\t\t<\/p>\n\t\t\t<p>\n\t\t\t\t<strong>Bob:<\/strong>\u00a0 Well, now wait; you did see a change in Mark?\n\t\t\t<\/p>\n\t\t\t<p>\n\t\t\t\t<strong>Katharyn:<\/strong>\u00a0 Oh, definitely. \n\t\t\t<\/p>\n\t\t\t<p>\n\t\t\t\t<strong>Bob:<\/strong>\u00a0 And did that not cause you to pull back and go what\u2019s going on with him, and what should be going on with me?\n\t\t\t<\/p>\n\t\t\t<p>\n\t\t\t\t<strong>Katharyn:<\/strong>\u00a0 Well, you would think that I would of caught it a little bit earlier, but pride is a very\u2026 \n\t\t\t<\/p>\n\t\t\t<p>\n\t\t\t\t<strong>Bob:<\/strong>\u00a0 Stubborn thing\n\t\t\t<\/p>\n\t\t\t<p>\n\t\t\t\t<strong>Katharyn:<\/strong>\u00a0 Yes, and I had a whole lot of it and still struggle with it today.\n\t\t\t<\/p>\n\t\t\t<p>\n\t\t\t\t<strong>Mark:<\/strong>\u00a0 Plus, she would fall in the category of what Romans talks about, the moral man.\n\t\t\t<\/p>\n\t\t\t<p>\n\t\t\t\t<strong>Dennis:<\/strong>\u00a0 Yes, sure, a very good person.\n\t\t\t<\/p>\n\t\t\t<p>\n\t\t\t\t<strong>\u00a0<\/strong><strong>Mark:<\/strong>\u00a0 Right, still not understanding that we\u2019re born with the sin nature of Adam and so, if you knew Katharyn you would say, \u201cWell, certainly she\u2019s a Christian.\u201d\n\t\t\t<\/p>\n\t\t\t<p>\n\t\t\t\t<strong>Dennis:<\/strong>\u00a0 So how did you meet her?\n\t\t\t<\/p>\n\t\t\t<p>\n\t\t\t\t<strong>Mark:<\/strong>\u00a0 Well, we actually met on a blind date; we were supposed to meet at your roommates place. I, well, I guess if it was your roommates place it was your place, too, but\u2026 \n\t\t\t<\/p>\n\t\t\t<p>\n\t\t\t\t<strong>Dennis:<\/strong>\u00a0 That\u2019s when you were coaching at Florida State?\n\t\t\t<\/p>\n\t\t\t<p>\n\t\t\t\t<strong>Mark:<\/strong>\u00a0 I was a graduate assistant then and Katharyn\u2019s roommate was dating my fellow graduate assistant, Coach Jay Perkins. I was riding in the car with Jay and Liz, her name was Liz, and somehow I blurted out, you know I need to meet a nice girl and then Liz just went crazy.\u00a0 \n\t\t\t<\/p>\n\t\t\t<p>\n\t\t\t\t\u201cOh, I\u2019ve got this perfect girl for you.\u00a0 She\u2019s tall and beautiful and elegant and I think she said she was like 21, and when she was probably still 19 at the time.\u00a0 I was a little bit older, I\u2019m about 5 years older, anyway that\u2019s how it started.\u00a0 So we were going to have a blind date, but we accidently met in Publix as we were both getting prepared for the date.\u00a0 Jay and I were trying to get some money and I don\u2019t know pricing some food for the night.\n\t\t\t<\/p>\n\t\t\t<p>\n\t\t\t\t<strong>Dennis:<\/strong>\u00a0 So, Katharyn, you dated about how long then?\n\t\t\t<\/p>\n\t\t\t<p>\n\t\t\t\t<strong>Katharyn:<\/strong>\u00a0 We actually dated for a year and a half and we were married within a year and a half of meeting each other.\n\t\t\t<\/p>\n\t\t\t<p>\n\t\t\t\t<strong>Dennis:<\/strong>\u00a0 Okay. \n\t\t\t<\/p>\n\t\t\t<p>\n\t\t\t\t<strong>Bob:<\/strong>\u00a0 Were you smitten with him first time out of the box?\n\t\t\t<\/p>\n\t\t\t<p>\n\t\t\t\t<strong>Katharyn:<\/strong>\u00a0 I knew within two weeks that I would be blessed to be married to Mark, although I wouldn\u2019t have termed it as that at the time.\u00a0 He was something special.\u00a0 We talked a lot.\u00a0 We were actually best friends is what happened and I never thought he would have fallen for me.\n\t\t\t<\/p>\n\t\t\t<p>\n\t\t\t\t<strong>Mark:<\/strong>\u00a0 We started out as buddies.\n\t\t\t<\/p>\n\t\t\t<p>\n\t\t\t\t<strong>Katharyn:<\/strong>\u00a0 Yes.\n\t\t\t<\/p>\n\t\t\t<p>\n\t\t\t\t<strong>Mark:<\/strong>\u00a0\u00a0 We weren\u2019t going to say it was dating just that.\n\t\t\t<\/p>\n\t\t\t<p>\n\t\t\t\t<strong>Dennis:<\/strong>\u00a0 She\u2019s grinning by the way\n\t\t\t<\/p>\n\t\t\t<p>\n\t\t\t\t<strong>Mark:<\/strong>\u00a0 We were \u2026.\n\t\t\t<\/p>\n\t\t\t<p>\n\t\t\t\t<strong>Dennis:<\/strong>\u00a0 It must be a good story\u2026\n\t\t\t<\/p>\n\t\t\t<p>\n\t\t\t\t<strong>Mark:<\/strong>\u00a0 We were getting towards the end of that buddy stage when she was at my house and we were watching TV with a couple of my roommates.\u00a0 The phone rang and it happened to be another young lady.\u00a0 I was trying to be polite to her on the phone, while Katharyn was there, she was Kathy back then.\u00a0 I actually called her Skinny Buddy, that was my nickname for her back then.\n\t\t\t<\/p>\n\t\t\t<p>\n\t\t\t\tWhen I hung up the phone, she said \u201ctake me home.\u201d\u00a0 And I said, \u201cWhat\u201d?\u00a0 \n\t\t\t<\/p>\n\t\t\t<p>\n\t\t\t\tShe said, \u201cTake me home.\u201d\u00a0 So we jumped in the car.\u00a0 As we started driving her home and she said, \u201cWhat are you doing\u201d?\u00a0 \n\t\t\t<\/p>\n\t\t\t<p>\n\t\t\t\tI said, \u201cI\u2019m taking you home.\u201d\u00a0 She said, \u201cI don\u2019t want to go home.\u201d I said \u201cBut you just said you wanted to go home.\u201d\u00a0 \n\t\t\t<\/p>\n\t\t\t<p>\n\t\t\t\tI finally figured out she didn\u2019t like this friend thing anymore.\u00a0 If it was going to continue, it was going to have to be an exclusive dating relationship and I knew that I was at the moment of truth and I\u2026.\n\t\t\t<\/p>\n\t\t\t<p>\n\t\t\t\t<strong>Dennis:<\/strong>\u00a0 So Skinny Buddy didn\u2019t want any more of the females\u2026\n\t\t\t<\/p>\n\t\t\t<p>\n\t\t\t\t<strong>Mark:<\/strong>\u00a0 Skinny Buddy, yes, she put her foot down\u2026\n\t\t\t<\/p>\n\t\t\t<p>\n\t\t\t\t<strong>Dennis:<\/strong>\u00a0\u00a0 What did you think about that, Katharyn?\n\t\t\t<\/p>\n\t\t\t<p>\n\t\t\t\t<strong>Katharyn:<\/strong>\u00a0 Well, I was really was tired of it.\u00a0 You can only go so long.\u00a0 I mean, I was five years Mark\u2019s junior and he probably was a little bit shocked when I said that because he was not used to that.\u00a0 They called him Boca Baby because all the girls were attracted to him. \n\t\t\t<\/p>\n\t\t\t<p>\n\t\t\t\t<strong>Dennis:<\/strong>\u00a0 Boca?\n\t\t\t<\/p>\n\t\t\t<p>\n\t\t\t\t<strong>Katharyn:<\/strong>\u00a0 You can tell even still. \n\t\t\t<\/p>\n\t\t\t<p>\n\t\t\t\t<strong>Dennis:<\/strong>\u00a0 Baby?\n\t\t\t<\/p>\n\t\t\t<p>\n\t\t\t\t<strong>Katharyn:<\/strong>\u00a0 Boca to having the women fawn all over him and so I think that when I finally just said, \u201cOkay, that\u2019s it.\u00a0 I\u2019m done playing this game whatever it is.\u201d\n\t\t\t<\/p>\n\t\t\t<p>\n\t\t\t\t<strong>Bob:<\/strong>\u00a0 So it was ok for a while, that he had these women interested in him.\n\t\t\t<\/p>\n\t\t\t<p>\n\t\t\t\t<strong>Katharyn:<\/strong>\u00a0 Well, we really were best friends.\n\t\t\t<\/p>\n\t\t\t<p>\n\t\t\t\t<strong>Bob:<\/strong>\u00a0 Well, when did you start to go, He\u2019d been buddies with this girl for three and a half years and it\u2019s like get off the fence.\u00a0 What the young lady needs to do is call for the question.\u00a0 Ask him \u2026\n\t\t\t<\/p>\n\t\t\t<p>\n\t\t\t\t<strong>Bob:<\/strong>\u00a0 What are your intentions\u2026?\n\t\t\t<\/p>\n\t\t\t<p>\n\t\t\t\t<strong>Dennis:<\/strong>\u00a0 What are your intentions and that\u2019s what she did with you.\n\t\t\t<\/p>\n\t\t\t<p>\n\t\t\t\t<strong>Mark:<\/strong>\u00a0 Yes, she did.\n\t\t\t<\/p>\n\t\t\t<p>\n\t\t\t\t<strong>Dennis:<\/strong>\u00a0 and so\u2026\n\t\t\t<\/p>\n\t\t\t<p>\n\t\t\t\t<strong>Mark:<\/strong>\u00a0 It worked, it worked well.\n\t\t\t<\/p>\n\t\t\t<p>\n\t\t\t\t(laughter)\n\t\t\t<\/p>\n\t\t\t<p>\n\t\t\t\t<strong>Mark:<\/strong>\u00a0 Do you know after we began to date exclusively, I told her \u201cKathy, I will never tell you I love you unless I\u2019m ready to marry you.\u201d \n\t\t\t<\/p>\n\t\t\t<p>\n\t\t\t\t<strong>Bob:<\/strong>\u00a0 Where had you learned that?\n\t\t\t<\/p>\n\t\t\t<p>\n\t\t\t\t<strong>Mark:<\/strong>\u00a0 I learned that\u2026\n\t\t\t<\/p>\n\t\t\t<p>\n\t\t\t\t<strong>Dennis:<\/strong>\u00a0 where?\n\t\t\t<\/p>\n\t\t\t<p>\n\t\t\t\t<strong>Mark:<\/strong>\u00a0 over dating relationships.\n\t\t\t<\/p>\n\t\t\t<p>\n\t\t\t\t<strong>Bob:<\/strong>\u00a0 Where you hadn\u2019t had that same\u2026\n\t\t\t<\/p>\n\t\t\t<p>\n\t\t\t\t<strong>Mark:<\/strong>\u00a0 You tell a girl you love her and it changes everything.\u00a0 It escalates things, and you\u2019re telling her you want to marry her when you say you love her, whether you mean it or not.\n\t\t\t<\/p>\n\t\t\t<p>\n\t\t\t\t<strong>Bob:<\/strong>\u00a0 All you\u2019re really saying is I kind of like you a lot.\n\t\t\t<\/p>\n\t\t\t<p>\n\t\t\t\t<strong>Mark:<\/strong>\u00a0 Right.\u00a0 So I learned those words were very powerful and I would never say that to her unless I was serious about marrying her.\u00a0 Then I told you I loved you somewhere along the way.\u00a0 You tell it, I don\u2019t remember exactly how\u2026\n\t\t\t<\/p>\n\t\t\t<p>\n\t\t\t\t<strong>Katharyn:<\/strong>\u00a0 He totally changed.\u00a0 I could tell our relationship had totally changed.\u00a0 He allowed me to come to the airport to pick him up after a game, which he had never done before.\u00a0\u00a0 I came with a friend and we\u2019d gone go Shoney\u2019s to eat dinner and my friend asked, Mark what are you doing for Christmas?\u00a0 And Mark said, \u201cWell, I don\u2019t know.\u00a0 What are we going to do for Christmas, Skinny Buddy?\u00a0\u00a0 I said, \u201cWell, I don\u2019t know.\u201d\u00a0 He got up and went to the salad bar and I looked at my girlfriend, going \u201ccan you believe he just said that\u201d? \n\t\t\t<\/p>\n\t\t\t<p>\n\t\t\t\tSo, there were things like that because he hadn\u2019t said he loved me yet, but, I knew, there were little clues along the way.\u00a0 Then he actually told me he loved me when we were babysitting my best friend\u2019s child.\u00a0 I guess you could say that was the marriage proposal because once he said that, we started kind of planning the wedding.\n\t\t\t<\/p>\n\t\t\t<p>\n\t\t\t\t<strong>Dennis:<\/strong>\u00a0 So you didn\u2019t really \u2026\n\t\t\t<\/p>\n\t\t\t<p>\n\t\t\t\t<strong>Katharyn:<\/strong>\u00a0 He did, he did, but we already knew\u2026\n\t\t\t<\/p>\n\t\t\t<p>\n\t\t\t\t<strong>Mark:<\/strong>\u00a0 Like I said, I told her, I said earlier, the day I tell you I love you is the day I\u2019m asking you to marry me.\n\t\t\t<\/p>\n\t\t\t<p>\n\t\t\t\t<strong>Bob:<\/strong>\u00a0 But was there a time you dropped to a knee and got out a ring\u2026\n\t\t\t<\/p>\n\t\t\t<p>\n\t\t\t\t<strong>Mark:<\/strong>\u00a0 Well, I did talk to her father and I asked if it was okay, and he said it was fine.\u00a0 Then we\u00a0 had a dinner where I prepared steak and baked potato, I think, and a salad and we did have a little champagne. I\u2019m not sure it was non-alcoholic or not, but we each had a glass of champagne.\u00a0 I put her engagement ring in her glass and she kept sipping away, and sipping away.\u00a0 It took about an hour for her to finally find\u2026 \n\t\t\t<\/p>\n\t\t\t<p>\n\t\t\t\t<strong>Dennis:<\/strong>\u00a0 Oh she didn\u2019t find it?\n\t\t\t<\/p>\n\t\t\t<p>\n\t\t\t\t<strong>Mark:<\/strong>\u00a0 No, the ring finally touched her lips at the very end,\n\t\t\t<\/p>\n\t\t\t<p>\n\t\t\t\t<strong>Bob:<\/strong>\u00a0 You didn\u2019t even see it in there?\n\t\t\t<\/p>\n\t\t\t<p>\n\t\t\t\t<strong>Katharyn:<\/strong>\u00a0 No, I didn\u2019t.\n\t\t\t<\/p>\n\t\t\t<p>\n\t\t\t\t<strong>Mark:<\/strong>\u00a0 I was watching to make sure she didn\u2019t swallow the dumb thing.\u00a0 (Laughing)\n\t\t\t<\/p>\n\t\t\t<p>\n\t\t\t\t<strong>Katharyn:<\/strong>\u00a0 I mean I had never heard of anybody putting it in a drink before, I didn\u2019t know.\u00a0 I did think he was going to ask me that night, but y that time I thought he wasn\u2019t going to ask\u2026\n\t\t\t<\/p>\n\t\t\t<p>\n\t\t\t\t<strong>Bob:<\/strong>\u00a0 So when the ring touched your lips what did you do?\n\t\t\t<\/p>\n\t\t\t<p>\n\t\t\t\t<strong>Katharyn:<\/strong>\u00a0 I kind of went, ahhhh, and then I looked down in there and I was like, ohh, you know, I think he was actually cleaning the dishes already in the kitchen.\u00a0 \n\t\t\t<\/p>\n\t\t\t<p>\n\t\t\t\t(Laughter)\n\t\t\t<\/p>\n\t\t\t<p>\n\t\t\t\t<strong>Bob:<\/strong>\u00a0 Did you cry?\n\t\t\t<\/p>\n\t\t\t<p>\n\t\t\t\t<strong>Katharyn:<\/strong>\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 Yes, I was happy, you know like goofy little kids.\n\t\t\t<\/p>\n\t\t\t<p>\n\t\t\t\t<strong>Bob:<\/strong>\u00a0 You told us earlier, though, that you did not come to faith until after your second child, after David was born?\n\t\t\t<\/p>\n\t\t\t<p>\n\t\t\t\t<strong>Katharyn:<\/strong>\u00a0 Yes, that\u2019s right. \n\t\t\t<\/p>\n\t\t\t<p>\n\t\t\t\t<strong>Bob:<\/strong>\u00a0 So, what was the turning point for you spiritually?\n\t\t\t<\/p>\n\t\t\t<p>\n\t\t\t\t<strong>Katharyn:<\/strong>\u00a0\u00a0 Well, once Mark was saved I went with him to the Billy Graham Crusade.\u00a0\u00a0 We attended a lot of FCA camps and so I was being presented with the gospel a lot.\u00a0 Then we actually started attending Celebration Baptist Church in Tallahassee, Florida and we did a Bible study with Henry Blackaby called, <em>Experiencing God<\/em>.\n\t\t\t<\/p>\n\t\t\t<p>\n\t\t\t\t<strong>Bob:<\/strong>\u00a0 All this time you\u2019re thinking \u201cI\u2019m a Christian?\u201d\n\t\t\t<\/p>\n\t\t\t<p>\n\t\t\t\t<strong>Katharyn:<\/strong>\u00a0 I\u2019m thinking I\u2019m a Christian and finally, God just basically laid it out for me and said, \u201cSister, you\u2019re prideful, you\u2019re not who you think you are, and your defending.\u201d\n\t\t\t<\/p>\n\t\t\t<p>\n\t\t\t\t<strong>Bob:<\/strong>\u00a0 Was there an event that brought that to a head?\n\t\t\t<\/p>\n\t\t\t<p>\n\t\t\t\t<strong>Katharyn:<\/strong>\u00a0 I remember David was 11 days old, it was December 11, 1994.\u00a0 I remember being on my green couch and I was crying and saying, I know that there have been many times at the FCA events and different things where I\u2019ve said, Yes, Lord, I want you. Yes, Lord I submit to you.\u00a0 But I don\u2019t think I truly saw Him as Lord, as Him being the One who is in control and submitting completely to Him for my life, through the prayer actually.\n\t\t\t<\/p>\n\t\t\t<p>\n\t\t\t\t<strong>Bob:<\/strong>\u00a0 When you got home that day, and your wife said guess what happened today, what did you think?\n\t\t\t<\/p>\n\t\t\t<p>\n\t\t\t\t<strong>Mark:<\/strong>\u00a0 I can\u2019t say that I recall that moment.\u00a0 I know what happened, but I can\u2019t say that when I came home that night she blurted it out.\u00a0 I\u2019m not even sure that she did that night.\n\t\t\t<\/p>\n\t\t\t<p>\n\t\t\t\t<strong>Dennis:<\/strong>\u00a0 I\u2019m wondering if you felt like she was or wasn\u2019t a follower of Christ at that point, as her husband.\n\t\t\t<\/p>\n\t\t\t<p>\n\t\t\t\t<strong>Mark:<\/strong>\u00a0 I really thought she was.\u00a0 I don\u2019t know if that moment was just confirmation, as Christ is Lord.\u00a0 She may have been born again already. I don\u2019t know what was in her spirit.\n\t\t\t<\/p>\n\t\t\t<p>\n\t\t\t\t<strong>Bob:<\/strong>\u00a0 We\u2019ll get to heaven and find out won\u2019t we?\n\t\t\t<\/p>\n\t\t\t<p>\n\t\t\t\t<strong>Mark:<\/strong>\u00a0 Yes.\n\t\t\t<\/p>\n\t\t\t<p>\n\t\t\t\t<strong>Katharyn:<\/strong>\u00a0 Yes.\n\t\t\t<\/p>\n\t\t\t<p>\n\t\t\t\t<strong>Bob:<\/strong>\u00a0 That will be fun to do.\n\t\t\t<\/p>\n\t\t\t<p>\n\t\t\t\t<strong>Dennis:<\/strong>\u00a0 There will be a few of us settling that issue.\n\t\t\t<\/p>\n\t\t\t<p>\n\t\t\t\t<strong>Mark:<\/strong>\u00a0 She absolutely surrendered at that point.\n\t\t\t<\/p>\n\t\t\t<p>\n\t\t\t\t<strong>Katharyn:<\/strong>\u00a0 You could tell I had surrendered, because I can remember sitting at Bible study after that with our small group and then Mark would just sit there, he would never be like I told you so kind of mode or I knew you were not, but I could tell by his\u2026\n\t\t\t<\/p>\n\t\t\t<p>\n\t\t\t\t<strong>Mark:<\/strong>\u00a0 The thing I love about Katharyn, really is and we all have pride and prideful moments but she will always submit her will to God and to Jesus.\u00a0 She is a spirit filled woman.\u00a0 And even if she gets off on a tangent one way or another she always in her quiet time turns it over to God and she allows the Holy Spirit to handle it and that\u2019s really been a blessing to our marriage.\n\t\t\t<\/p>\n\t\t\t<p>\n\t\t\t\t<strong>Bob:<\/strong>\u00a0 Was there any change in your marriage after that point?\n\t\t\t<\/p>\n\t\t\t<p>\n\t\t\t\t<strong>Mark:<\/strong>\u00a0 I would say yes.\u00a0 We always did well but I think there was assurance in my mind that we were going to be okay.\u00a0 I knew I would submit my will to God when I had these stubborn spots and I knew she would, too.\u00a0 When we hammered it out face to face sometimes we would let our pride get in the way.\u00a0 But when we would withdraw from the conflict and meditate and really ask God, what\u2019s the right thing to do, we would always come together.\n\t\t\t<\/p>\n\t\t\t<p>\n\t\t\t\t<strong>Bob:<\/strong>\u00a0 Katharyn, you and Mark had an opportunity to attend one of our Weekend to Remember Marriage Conferences, how long into your marriage was that, do you remember?\n\t\t\t<\/p>\n\t\t\t<p>\n\t\t\t\t<strong>Katharyn:<\/strong>\u00a0 Gosh, I don\u2019t remember.\u00a0 I think it was probably maybe two years after David, because I think David was three.\n\t\t\t<\/p>\n\t\t\t<p>\n\t\t\t\t<strong>Bob:<\/strong>\u00a0 And was it your idea that the two of you go?\n\t\t\t<\/p>\n\t\t\t<p>\n\t\t\t\t<strong>Katharyn:<\/strong>\u00a0 I don\u2019t remember whose idea but it might have been just to get away.\u00a0 It wasn\u2019t like he ever fought things like that.\u00a0 He loved to get away.\u00a0 That\u2019s one thing we\u2019ve always done.\u00a0 We realized early on that our children were born because of the love between us and so the best security we can give our children is to maintain and \u2026\n\t\t\t<\/p>\n\t\t\t<p>\n\t\t\t\t<strong>Mark:<\/strong>\u00a0 love each other. \n\t\t\t<\/p>\n\t\t\t<p>\n\t\t\t\t<strong>Katharyn:<\/strong>\u00a0 Yes.\n\t\t\t<\/p>\n\t\t\t<p>\n\t\t\t\t<strong>Bob:<\/strong>\u00a0 Nurture that relationship.\u00a0 Well, I\u2019m guessing it wasn\u2019t a fall conference that you went to because he\u2019s usually busy on the weekends in the fall.\n\t\t\t<\/p>\n\t\t\t<p>\n\t\t\t\t(Laughter)\n\t\t\t<\/p>\n\t\t\t<p>\n\t\t\t\t<strong>Katharyn:<\/strong>\u00a0 It was in April.\n\t\t\t<\/p>\n\t\t\t<p>\n\t\t\t\t<strong>Bob:<\/strong>\u00a0 Okay, and in the middle of spring ball to get away for a weekend is a pretty big sacrifice.\n\t\t\t<\/p>\n\t\t\t<p>\n\t\t\t\t<strong>Mark:<\/strong>\u00a0 It was probably after the spring game and it might have been in the middle of spring recruiting, but you know Coach Bowden has always been great to allow those kinds of things.\n\t\t\t<\/p>\n\t\t\t<p>\n\t\t\t\t<strong>Bob:<\/strong>\u00a0 So you had a weekend away, and do you remember anything about going to the conference?\n\t\t\t<\/p>\n\t\t\t<p>\n\t\t\t\t<strong>Katharyn:<\/strong>\u00a0 Oh, I remember that we got to have a date night and that was fun.\n\t\t\t<\/p>\n\t\t\t<p>\n\t\t\t\t<strong>Bob:<\/strong>\u00a0 Yes.\n\t\t\t<\/p>\n\t\t\t<p>\n\t\t\t\t<strong>Mark:<\/strong>\u00a0 What did we do?\n\t\t\t<\/p>\n\t\t\t<p>\n\t\t\t\t<strong>Katharyn:<\/strong>\u00a0 I think we just had dinner.\n\t\t\t<\/p>\n\t\t\t<p>\n\t\t\t\t<strong>Mark:<\/strong>\u00a0 Yes.\n\t\t\t<\/p>\n\t\t\t<p>\n\t\t\t\t<strong>Katharyn:<\/strong>\u00a0 We went and had dinner and then we came back.\u00a0 We talked a lot.\u00a0 That\u2019s one thing that the conference does.\u00a0 It helps draw out the conversation between us and helps us talk about the issues that are real issues that sometimes in the busyness of life you can kind of let fall by the wayside.\u00a0 But it was so impactful that we bought weekends for all our siblings.\n\t\t\t<\/p>\n\t\t\t<p>\n\t\t\t\t<strong>\u00a0<\/strong><strong>Mark:<\/strong>\u00a0 That\u2019s right.\n\t\t\t<\/p>\n\t\t\t<p>\n\t\t\t\t<strong>Katharyn:<\/strong>\u00a0 And we didn\u2019t have money back then.\n\t\t\t<\/p>\n\t\t\t<p>\n\t\t\t\t<strong>\u00a0<\/strong><strong>Mark:<\/strong>\u00a0 No, we didn\u2019t have any money back then, but we, it was such an impact that we asked every one of our brothers and sisters and their spouses to go.\u00a0 We paid for it.\n\t\t\t<\/p>\n\t\t\t<p>\n\t\t\t\t<strong>Bob:<\/strong>\u00a0 And got them gift certificates.\u00a0 \n\t\t\t<\/p>\n\t\t\t<p>\n\t\t\t\t<strong>Dennis:<\/strong>\u00a0\u00a0 That\u2019s cool.\n\t\t\t<\/p>\n\t\t\t<p>\n\t\t\t\t<strong>Bob:<\/strong>\u00a0 That really is.\n\t\t\t<\/p>\n\t\t\t<p>\n\t\t\t\t<strong>Dennis:<\/strong>\u00a0 That\u2019s cool, you know, just listening to your story hear, the reason your marriage works well is because you both have settled the issue of who is going to be the master.\n\t\t\t<\/p>\n\t\t\t<p>\n\t\t\t\t<strong>\u00a0<\/strong><strong>Mark:<\/strong>\u00a0 That\u2019s right\n\t\t\t<\/p>\n\t\t\t<p>\n\t\t\t\t<strong>Katharyn:<\/strong>\u00a0 Yes.\n\t\t\t<\/p>\n\t\t\t<p>\n\t\t\t\t<strong>Dennis:<\/strong>\u00a0 You both are slaves, slaves of Jesus Christ. \n\t\t\t<\/p>\n\t\t\t<p>\n\t\t\t\t<strong>\u00a0<\/strong><strong>Mark:<\/strong>\u00a0 Bondservants.\n\t\t\t<\/p>\n\t\t\t<p>\n\t\t\t\t<strong>Dennis:<\/strong>\u00a0 That\u2019s right and, as a result of that, you know, if two people\u2019s wills are submitted to the King of Kings and Lord of Lords it\u2019s a whole lot easier for two selfish, sinful people to be able to make a lifetime together.\u00a0 \n\t\t\t<\/p>\n\t\t\t<p>\n\t\t\t\tI know because that\u2019s the story of our thirty-six years of marriage.\u00a0 We\u2019re pretty stubborn people and we had six children and got a number of grandchildren now.\u00a0 There\u2019s a lot going on in our lives and I don\u2019t know how couples would make it without the issue of surrender to Christ being settled.\n\t\t\t<\/p>\n\t\t\t<p>\n\t\t\t\t<strong>\u00a0<\/strong><strong>Mark:<\/strong>\u00a0 They might survive, but that\u2019s about all they are doing is surviving, instead of really thriving in the relationship the way God meant it to be.\n\t\t\t<\/p>\n\t\t\t<p>\n\t\t\t\t<strong>Dennis:<\/strong>\u00a0 There is a purpose for everything that happens.\n\t\t\t<\/p>\n\t\t\t<p>\n\t\t\t\t<strong>Mark:<\/strong>\u00a0 No doubt.\n\t\t\t<\/p>\n\t\t\t<p>\n\t\t\t\t<strong>Dennis:<\/strong>\u00a0 Earlier this week I talked to a friend, and not in a trite way, but there is a lot going on in his life, just one thing after another, and read Romans 8:28 to him.\u00a0 \u201cAll things work together for good, to those who love God, and who are called according to his purpose.\u201d\n\t\t\t<\/p>\n\t\t\t<p>\n\t\t\t\tIf you\u2019re surrendered to Christ, you can rest in the truth of that scripture.\u00a0 That\u2019s a promise.\u00a0 It\u2019s going to work for good.\u00a0 It may not feel good and you may not be able to see the end result and how it\u2019s going to work out.\u00a0 You may not be the national champions like you had hoped you would be.\n\t\t\t<\/p>\n\t\t\t<p>\n\t\t\t\t<strong>Mark:<\/strong>\u00a0 Maybe next year, right?\n\t\t\t<\/p>\n\t\t\t<p>\n\t\t\t\t<strong>Dennis:<\/strong>\u00a0 Like I was hoping you were going to be\u2026\n\t\t\t<\/p>\n\t\t\t<p>\n\t\t\t\t<strong>\u00a0<\/strong><strong>Mark:<\/strong>\u00a0 That\u2019s right, maybe next year.\n\t\t\t<\/p>\n\t\t\t<p>\n\t\t\t\t<strong>Dennis:<\/strong>\u00a0 But you play Arkansas at Arkansas so it\u2019s going to be tough.\n\t\t\t<\/p>\n\t\t\t<p>\n\t\t\t\t<strong>\u00a0<\/strong><strong>Mark:<\/strong>\u00a0 It\u2019s going to be tough.\n\t\t\t<\/p>\n\t\t\t<p>\n\t\t\t\t<strong>Dennis:<\/strong>\u00a0 It\u2019s going to be tough.\n\t\t\t<\/p>\n\t\t\t<p>\n\t\t\t\t(Laughter)\n\t\t\t<\/p>\n\t\t\t<p>\n\t\t\t\t<strong>Mark:<\/strong>\u00a0 Guaranteed.\n\t\t\t<\/p>\n\t\t\t<p>\n\t\t\t\t<strong>Bob:<\/strong>\u00a0\u00a0 You know, but as you say that, I\u2019m thinking about some of the things that as\u00a0 I read through Coach Tony Dungy\u2019s book, <em>Quiet Strength<\/em>, he talks about how you face disappointments, I mean, big, high profile disappointments that are lived out on the sports page of every newspaper across the country.\u00a0 \n\t\t\t<\/p>\n\t\t\t<p>\n\t\t\t\tWhat do you do in the midst of that?\u00a0 How do you reflect what it means to be a follower of Christ when that\u2019s your reality on any given day and it\u2019s a high profile reality?\u00a0 \n\t\t\t<\/p>\n\t\t\t<p>\n\t\t\t\tI
