Of course, there are so many books out there!—but I was looking for something specifically practical/easy to read, but biblically-based. I didn’t want it dripping in Christian-ese. I had girls who weren’t “all in” yet; so I didn’t want to give them a book that would be, maybe, toxic to them, or just too Christian.

I never found what I wanted and, in the back of my mind, I thought, “Maybe I could write that book someday.” Now, fast-forward just a little bit. I graduated my first group of high school girls—they are off at college.
