I listened; I played; and I gained their trust and their respect. \n\t\t\t<\/p>\n\t\t\t<p>\n\t\t\t\t<strong>13:00<\/strong>\n\t\t\t<\/p>\n\t\t\t<p>\n\t\t\t\t<strong>\u00a0<\/strong>\n\t\t\t<\/p>\n\t\t\t<p>\n\t\t\t\t\u201cEventually, I became the guy they text and ask for advice.\u201d That\u2019s a beautiful picture. \n\t\t\t<\/p>\n\t\t\t<p>\n\t\t\t\tI\u2019ve got to just throw this in there. Steve has spoken at our Summit on Stepfamily Ministry that we sponsor, here, at FamilyLife<sup>\u00ae<\/sup> every year. That\u2019s one of the things we do there\u2014is educate pastors and lay leaders about how they can minister well to stepfamilies in their church and community. \n\t\t\t<\/p>\n\t\t\t<p>\n\t\t\t\t<strong>Dennis:<\/strong> And Steve, just comment on what he said; because you are a pastor\u2014\n\t\t\t<\/p>\n\t\t\t<p>\n\t\t\t\t<strong>Steve:<\/strong> Yes. \n\t\t\t<\/p>\n\t\t\t<p>\n\t\t\t\t<strong>Dennis:<\/strong> \u2014of a local church\u2014how the church can benefit from being trained in better understanding where stepfamilies are and how they can relate to one another. \n\t\t\t<\/p>\n\t\t\t<p>\n\t\t\t\t<strong>Steve:<\/strong> Well, I go back to Jeremiah 6:14\u2014it says, \u201cThey treat the deep wounds of my people with superficial treatments.\u201d That is something that every pastor needs to memorize, because the issues of step-parenting and stepfamilies are so intricate. You really do need to not try to throw out these Band-Aid kind of answers, and you really need to look at\u2014\n\t\t\t<\/p>\n\t\t\t<p>\n\t\t\t\t<strong>14:00<\/strong>\n\t\t\t<\/p>\n\t\t\t<p>\n\t\t\t\t<strong>\u00a0<\/strong>\n\t\t\t<\/p>\n\t\t\t<p>\n\t\t\t\t\u2014I mean, Ron has spent a <em>lifetime<\/em> of delving into this to try to come up with the true truth about this. I just hope and pray that you would take a second look at everything you\u2019ve ever said about step-parenting and stepfamilies and be sure that you are being helpful and not hurtful. \n\t\t\t<\/p>\n\t\t\t<p>\n\t\t\t\t<strong>Bob:<\/strong> Sounds like you guys were pretty well prepared for the shared parenting journey that you were stepping into. As you look back, if you could have one do-over in how you began the process of step-parenting, what would your do-over be? \n\t\t\t<\/p>\n\t\t\t<p>\n\t\t\t\t<strong>Misty:<\/strong> Yes; there\u2019s a night that I remember. It was\u2014I got offended by Madeline, and I really think that it wasn\u2019t helpful for me to be offended. I think the highest aim is connection, and correction must submit to connection\u2014that\u2019s the first thing. Then, once there is a connection and safety, the correction is welcome and effective. \n\t\t\t<\/p>\n\t\t\t<p>\n\t\t\t\t<strong>15:00<\/strong>\n\t\t\t<\/p>\n\t\t\t<p>\n\t\t\t\t<strong>\u00a0<\/strong>\n\t\t\t<\/p>\n\t\t\t<p>\n\t\t\t\t<strong>Bob:<\/strong> Hang on. Ron\u2019s writing that down. \n\t\t\t<\/p>\n\t\t\t<p>\n\t\t\t\t<strong>Ron:<\/strong> Oh, yes. We\u2019ve got to unpack that, because that is beautiful. It\u2019s absolutely on target, but we\u2019ve got to flesh that out for people because that\u2019s <em>so hard<\/em>. We want obedience <em>now<\/em>; right?\u2014we want good behavior. We want everybody, who is watching us in the store with our kids, to go, \u201cOh, you must be a fabulous parent; because look at how your child is behaving.\u201d When obedience is the priority, then you stop being able to connect, in particular as a stepparent. \n\t\t\t<\/p>\n\t\t\t<p>\n\t\t\t\tSo how do you slow yourself down, as a stepmom? How did you slow yourself down to go: \u201cYou know what? Connection is the priority here\u201d? \n\t\t\t<\/p>\n\t\t\t<p>\n\t\t\t\t<strong>Misty:<\/strong> Well, I think it started with the healing processes that we went through\u2014that we fall short of the glory of God, and here are these children\u2014they are trying to make sense of their lives. They are trying to grow up\u2014they don\u2019t know everything \/ they don\u2019t have everything\u2014maybe, they had too much sugar today, and it has nothing to do with defiance and rebellion. \n\t\t\t<\/p>\n\t\t\t<p>\n\t\t\t\t<strong>16:00<\/strong>\n\t\t\t<\/p>\n\t\t\t<p>\n\t\t\t\t<strong>\u00a0<\/strong>\n\t\t\t<\/p>\n\t\t\t<p>\n\t\t\t\tMaybe, they didn\u2019t get enough sleep last night. Maybe, it\u2019s a very basic need: \u201cDo I have compassion or not?\u201d If my child is misbehaving or doing things that aren\u2019t pleasing to me: \u201cWell, what\u2019s it about? What\u2019s the underlying issue?\u201d \n\t\t\t<\/p>\n\t\t\t<p>\n\t\t\t\t<strong>Steve:<\/strong> Now, I just have to say this\u2014as she talks about breaking connection and being more interested in correction, one of the things that we talk about in bonus parenting is: \u201cDon\u2019t be the stepparent that\u2019s always right. Be the bonus parent who humbly and willingly admits mistakes and makes amends.\u201d\u00a0 \n\t\t\t<\/p>\n\t\t\t<p>\n\t\t\t\tLast night, when I\u2019m telling Madeline we\u2019re going to come talk about this experience, I said, \u201cSo what is it that Misty did so well with you?\u201d She says, \u201cConnection and communication.\u201d Now, why did she say that all these years later?\u2014because Misty didn\u2019t stay there; she made amends. She came after her, from a humble perspective, after realizing, \u201cThat didn\u2019t go too well.\u201d \n\t\t\t<\/p>\n\t\t\t<p>\n\t\t\t\t<strong>Ron:<\/strong> Yes. \n\t\t\t<\/p>\n\t\t\t<p>\n\t\t\t\t<strong>Steve:<\/strong> That\u2019s what the stepparent is so afraid to do\u2014that they\u2019re never going to be viewed as a great person. \n\t\t\t<\/p>\n\t\t\t<p>\n\t\t\t\t<strong>17:00<\/strong>\n\t\t\t<\/p>\n\t\t\t<p>\n\t\t\t\t<strong>\u00a0<\/strong>\n\t\t\t<\/p>\n\t\t\t<p>\n\t\t\t\tWell, actually, you\u2019re going to be viewed as a <em>very<\/em> great person when you\u2019re humble. \n\t\t\t<\/p>\n\t\t\t<p>\n\t\t\t\t<strong>Misty:<\/strong> And we make things mean something about us when, really, it\u2019s about this child\u2014\n\t\t\t<\/p>\n\t\t\t<p>\n\t\t\t\t<strong>Ron:<\/strong> That\u2019s right. \n\t\t\t<\/p>\n\t\t\t<p>\n\t\t\t\t<strong>Misty:<\/strong> \u2014and what they\u2019re\u2014there is some skill that they don\u2019t have to cope with their situation. My job and privilege, as the mother, is to help them figure out what skill they need to handle that situation. \n\t\t\t<\/p>\n\t\t\t<p>\n\t\t\t\t<strong>Ron:<\/strong> I\u2019ve just got to add one more thought to this. Just this morning, we were recording another FamilyLife Blended radio feature. I was talking about putting on thick skin. It\u2019s a hard thing to say: \u201cBut sometimes, stepparents, you\u2019ve just got to put on your thick skin.\u201d \n\t\t\t<\/p>\n\t\t\t<p>\n\t\t\t\tAs you said, not everything is about you. Sometimes, it\u2019s about sugar; you know? Sometimes, it is about the past. Kids do have hurts and wounds on their heart, and they act out just like the rest of us do. It still doesn\u2019t mean that it\u2019s a rejection of you. It doesn\u2019t mean that your life is over. Let that bullet bounce a little bit. Ask God to give you the strength and courage to bear up under it. Find a way to put on compassion in that moment. \n\t\t\t<\/p>\n\t\t\t<p>\n\t\t\t\t<strong>18:00<\/strong>\n\t\t\t<\/p>\n\t\t\t<p>\n\t\t\t\t<strong>\u00a0<\/strong>\n\t\t\t<\/p>\n\t\t\t<p>\n\t\t\t\tYou\u2019ll probably find that the kid softens, and you soften, and you move past it. \n\t\t\t<\/p>\n\t\t\t<p>\n\t\t\t\t<strong>Bob:<\/strong> I want to find out about a do-over for you, Steve. If you could go back to the first year or two and have a do-over, can you think of something? \n\t\t\t<\/p>\n\t\t\t<p>\n\t\t\t\t<strong>Steve:<\/strong> Well, I think it was being gone too much and travelling too much versus saying: \u201cYou know what? I need to carve out this time and spend more time with them.\u201d I think that would have been really valuable. \n\t\t\t<\/p>\n\t\t\t<p>\n\t\t\t\t<strong>Bob:<\/strong> Blending takes\u2014\n\t\t\t<\/p>\n\t\t\t<p>\n\t\t\t\t<strong>Steve:<\/strong> Yes. \n\t\t\t<\/p>\n\t\t\t<p>\n\t\t\t\t<strong>Bob:<\/strong> \u2014time, and intentionality, and effort. You can\u2019t just think, \u201cOh, this will happen\u201d; right? \n\t\t\t<\/p>\n\t\t\t<p>\n\t\t\t\t<strong>Steve:<\/strong> No; that\u2019s right. It\u2019s not easy, but the rewards later\u2014I thought that these boys were an obligation that I had to fulfill to be married to Misty. They are two of the greatest <em>blessings<\/em> in my life. \n\t\t\t<\/p>\n\t\t\t<p>\n\t\t\t\t<strong>Dennis:<\/strong> Sometimes, it\u2019s good to go out to the end of a matter and just be reminded of the big picture. That\u2019s what the Book of 1 Peter does\u2014in Chapter 4, it says this: \n\t\t\t<\/p>\n\t\t\t<p>\n\t\t\t\t<strong>19:00<\/strong>\n\t\t\t<\/p>\n\t\t\t<p>\n\t\t\t\t<strong>\u00a0<\/strong>\n\t\t\t<\/p>\n\t\t\t<p>\n\t\t\t\t\u201cThe end of all things is at hand; therefore, be self-controlled and sober-minded for the sake of your prayers. Above all, keep loving one another earnestly, since love covers a multitude of sins.\u201d \n\t\t\t<\/p>\n\t\t\t<p>\n\t\t\t\t<strong>Steve:<\/strong> There you are. \n\t\t\t<\/p>\n\t\t\t<p>\n\t\t\t\t<strong>Dennis:<\/strong> Now, that\u2019s true of a blended family and\u2014\n\t\t\t<\/p>\n\t\t\t<p>\n\t\t\t\t<strong>Bob:<\/strong> \u2014true at our house! \n\t\t\t<\/p>\n\t\t\t<p>\n\t\t\t\t<strong>Misty:<\/strong> Yes. \n\t\t\t<\/p>\n\t\t\t<p>\n\t\t\t\t<strong>Dennis:<\/strong> \u2014my house as well! \n\t\t\t<\/p>\n\t\t\t<p>\n\t\t\t\t<strong>Misty:<\/strong> I sure need it. \n\t\t\t<\/p>\n\t\t\t<p>\n\t\t\t\t<strong>Dennis:<\/strong> I\u2019m just telling you\u2014some listeners today need to be reminded, \u201cLove covers a multitude of sins.\u201d I think Misty demonstrated the attitude, repeatedly, this week on the broadcast, talking about humbling down\u2014\n\t\t\t<\/p>\n\t\t\t<p>\n\t\t\t\t<strong>Bob:<\/strong> Yes. \n\t\t\t<\/p>\n\t\t\t<p>\n\t\t\t\t<strong>Dennis:<\/strong> \u2014bending your will toward the God of the universe and say, \u201cGod, I was wrong,\u201d and then stepping back up\u2014not wallowing in your mistake, and reliving it, and blaming and shaming yourself, but instead, go: \u201cYou know what? I\u2019m going to use that as a tool toward learning and growing as a follower of Christ. \n\t\t\t<\/p>\n\t\t\t<p>\n\t\t\t\t<strong>20:00<\/strong>\n\t\t\t<\/p>\n\t\t\t<p>\n\t\t\t\t<strong>\u00a0<\/strong>\n\t\t\t<\/p>\n\t\t\t<p>\n\t\t\t\t\u201cI\u2019m going to step back up, and I\u2019m going to <em>love<\/em> because God first loved me.\u201d \n\t\t\t<\/p>\n\t\t\t<p>\n\t\t\t\t<strong>Misty:<\/strong> That\u2019s right. \n\t\t\t<\/p>\n\t\t\t<p>\n\t\t\t\t<strong>Dennis:<\/strong> Misty\/Steve, thanks for modeling these\u2014not perfectly\u2014 \n\t\t\t<\/p>\n\t\t\t<p>\n\t\t\t\t<strong>Steve:<\/strong> No. \n\t\t\t<\/p>\n\t\t\t<p>\n\t\t\t\t<br><strong>Dennis:<\/strong> \u2014I\u2019m not going to set you up for failure there\u2014but thank you for being open and honest and sharing your love for Christ but also your love for one another. \n\t\t\t<\/p>\n\t\t\t<p>\n\t\t\t\tI just have to say to you Misty\u2014the listener doesn\u2019t know it; but occasionally, we\u2019ll have a guest come in, Bob, who says, \u201cNow, this is not really my thing.\u201d I wish\u2014I just wish our listeners could have seen Misty. I listened; I played; and I gained their trust and their respect. \n\t\t\t<\/p>\n\t\t\t<p>\n\t\t\t\t<strong>13:00<\/strong>\n\t\t\t<\/p>\n\t\t\t<p>\n\t\t\t\t<strong>\u00a0<\/strong>\n\t\t\t<\/p>\n\t\t\t<p>\n\t\t\t\t\u201cEventually, I became the guy they text and ask for advice.\u201d That\u2019s a beautiful picture. \n\t\t\t<\/p>\n\t\t\t<p>\n\t\t\t\tI\u2019ve got to just throw this in there. Steve has spoken at our Summit on Stepfamily Ministry that we sponsor, here, at FamilyLife<sup>\u00ae<\/sup> every year. That\u2019s one of the things we do there\u2014is educate pastors and lay leaders about how they can minister well to stepfamilies in their church and community. \n\t\t\t<\/p>\n\t\t\t<p>\n\t\t\t\t<strong>Dennis:<\/strong> And Steve, just comment on what he said; because you are a pastor\u2014\n\t\t\t<\/p>\n\t\t\t<p>\n\t\t\t\t<strong>Steve:<\/strong> Yes. \n\t\t\t<\/p>\n\t\t\t<p>\n\t\t\t\t<strong>Dennis:<\/strong> \u2014of a local church\u2014how the church can benefit from being trained in better understanding where stepfamilies are and how they can relate to one another. \n\t\t\t<\/p>\n\t\t\t<p>\n\t\t\t\t<strong>Steve:<\/strong> Well, I go back to Jeremiah 6:14\u2014it says, \u201cThey treat the deep wounds of my people with superficial treatments.\u201d That is something that every pastor needs to memorize, because the issues of step-parenting and stepfamilies are so intricate. You really do need to not try to throw out these Band-Aid kind of answers, and you really need to look at\u2014\n\t\t\t<\/p>\n\t\t\t<p>\n\t\t\t\t<strong>14:00<\/strong>\n\t\t\t<\/p>\n\t\t\t<p>\n\t\t\t\t<strong>\u00a0<\/strong>\n\t\t\t<\/p>\n\t\t\t<p>\n\t\t\t\t\u2014I mean, Ron has spent a <em>lifetime<\/em> of delving into this to try to come up with the true truth about this. I just hope and pray that you would take a second look at everything you\u2019ve ever said about step-parenting and stepfamilies and be sure that you are being helpful and not hurtful. \n\t\t\t<\/p>\n\t\t\t<p>\n\t\t\t\t<strong>Bob:<\/strong> Sounds like you guys were pretty well prepared for the shared parenting journey that you were stepping into. As you look back, if you could have one do-over in how you began the process of step-parenting, what would your do-over be? \n\t\t\t<\/p>\n\t\t\t<p>\n\t\t\t\t<strong>Misty:<\/strong> Yes; there\u2019s a night that I remember. It was\u2014I got offended by Madeline, and I really think that it wasn\u2019t helpful for me to be offended. I think the highest aim is connection, and correction must submit to connection\u2014that\u2019s the first thing. Then, once there is a connection and safety, the correction is welcome and effective. \n\t\t\t<\/p>\n\t\t\t<p>\n\t\t\t\t<strong>15:00<\/strong>\n\t\t\t<\/p>\n\t\t\t<p>\n\t\t\t\t<strong>\u00a0<\/strong>\n\t\t\t<\/p>\n\t\t\t<p>\n\t\t\t\t<strong>Bob:<\/strong> Hang on. Ron\u2019s writing that down. \n\t\t\t<\/p>\n\t\t\t<p>\n\t\t\t\t<strong>Ron:<\/strong> Oh, yes. We\u2019ve got to unpack that, because that is beautiful. It\u2019s absolutely on target, but we\u2019ve got to flesh that out for people because that\u2019s <em>so hard<\/em>. We want obedience <em>now<\/em>; right?\u2014we want good behavior. We want everybody, who is watching us in the store with our kids, to go, \u201cOh, you must be a fabulous parent; because look at how your child is behaving.\u201d When obedience is the priority, then you stop being able to connect, in particular as a stepparent. \n\t\t\t<\/p>\n\t\t\t<p>\n\t\t\t\tSo how do you slow yourself down, as a stepmom? How did you slow yourself down to go: \u201cYou know what? Connection is the priority here\u201d? \n\t\t\t<\/p>\n\t\t\t<p>\n\t\t\t\t<strong>Misty:<\/strong> Well, I think it started with the healing processes that we went through\u2014that we fall short of the glory of God, and here are these children\u2014they are trying to make sense of their lives. They are trying to grow up\u2014they don\u2019t know everything \/ they don\u2019t have everything\u2014maybe, they had too much sugar today, and it has nothing to do with defiance and rebellion. \n\t\t\t<\/p>\n\t\t\t<p>\n\t\t\t\t<strong>16:00<\/strong>\n\t\t\t<\/p>\n\t\t\t<p>\n\t\t\t\t<strong>\u00a0<\/strong>\n\t\t\t<\/p>\n\t\t\t<p>\n\t\t\t\tMaybe, they didn\u2019t get enough sleep last night. Maybe, it\u2019s a very basic need: \u201cDo I have compassion or not?\u201d If my child is misbehaving or doing things that aren\u2019t pleasing to me: \u201cWell, what\u2019s it about? What\u2019s the underlying issue?\u201d \n\t\t\t<\/p>\n\t\t\t<p>\n\t\t\t\t<strong>Steve:<\/strong> Now, I just have to say this\u2014as she talks about breaking connection and being more interested in correction, one of the things that we talk about in bonus parenting is: \u201cDon\u2019t be the stepparent that\u2019s always right. Be the bonus parent who humbly and willingly admits mistakes and makes amends.\u201d\u00a0 \n\t\t\t<\/p>\n\t\t\t<p>\n\t\t\t\tLast night, when I\u2019m telling Madeline we\u2019re going to come talk about this experience, I said, \u201cSo what is it that Misty did so well with you?\u201d She says, \u201cConnection and communication.\u201d Now, why did she say that all these years later?\u2014because Misty didn\u2019t stay there; she made amends. She came after her, from a humble perspective, after realizing, \u201cThat didn\u2019t go too well.\u201d \n\t\t\t<\/p>\n\t\t\t<p>\n\t\t\t\t<strong>Ron:<\/strong> Yes. \n\t\t\t<\/p>\n\t\t\t<p>\n\t\t\t\t<strong>Steve:<\/strong> That\u2019s what the stepparent is so afraid to do\u2014that they\u2019re never going to be viewed as a great person. \n\t\t\t<\/p>\n\t\t\t<p>\n\t\t\t\t<strong>17:00<\/strong>\n\t\t\t<\/p>\n\t\t\t<p>\n\t\t\t\t<strong>\u00a0<\/strong>\n\t\t\t<\/p>\n\t\t\t<p>\n\t\t\t\tWell, actually, you\u2019re going to be viewed as a <em>very<\/em> great person when you\u2019re humble. \n\t\t\t<\/p>\n\t\t\t<p>\n\t\t\t\t<strong>Misty:<\/strong> And we make things mean something about us when, really, it\u2019s about this child\u2014\n\t\t\t<\/p>\n\t\t\t<p>\n\t\t\t\t<strong>Ron:<\/strong> That\u2019s right. \n\t\t\t<\/p>\n\t\t\t<p>\n\t\t\t\t<strong>Misty:<\/strong> \u2014and what they\u2019re\u2014there is some skill that they don\u2019t have to cope with their situation. My job and privilege, as the mother, is to help them figure out what skill they need to handle that situation. \n\t\t\t<\/p>\n\t\t\t<p>\n\t\t\t\t<strong>Ron:<\/strong> I\u2019ve just got to add one more thought to this. Just this morning, we were recording another FamilyLife Blended radio feature. I was talking about putting on thick skin. It\u2019s a hard thing to say: \u201cBut sometimes, stepparents, you\u2019ve just got to put on your thick skin.\u201d \n\t\t\t<\/p>\n\t\t\t<p>\n\t\t\t\tAs you said, not everything is about you. Sometimes, it\u2019s about sugar; you know? Sometimes, it is about the past. Kids do have hurts and wounds on their heart, and they act out just like the rest of us do. It still doesn\u2019t mean that it\u2019s a rejection of you. It doesn\u2019t mean that your life is over. Let that bullet bounce a little bit. Ask God to give you the strength and courage to bear up under it. Find a way to put on compassion in that moment. \n\t\t\t<\/p>\n\t\t\t<p>\n\t\t\t\t<strong>18:00<\/strong>\n\t\t\t<\/p>\n\t\t\t<p>\n\t\t\t\t<strong>\u00a0<\/strong>\n\t\t\t<\/p>\n\t\t\t<p>\n\t\t\t\tYou\u2019ll probably find that the kid softens, and you soften, and you move past it. \n\t\t\t<\/p>\n\t\t\t<p>\n\t\t\t\t<strong>Bob:<\/strong> I want to find out about a do-over for you, Steve. If you could go back to the first year or two and have a do-over, can you think of something? \n\t\t\t<\/p>\n\t\t\t<p>\n\t\t\t\t<strong>Steve:<\/strong> Well, I think it was being gone too much and travelling too much versus saying: \u201cYou know what? I need to carve out this time and spend more time with them.\u201d I think that would have been really valuable. \n\t\t\t<\/p>\n\t\t\t<p>\n\t\t\t\t<strong>Bob:<\/strong> Blending takes\u2014\n\t\t\t<\/p>\n\t\t\t<p>\n\t\t\t\t<strong>Steve:<\/strong> Yes. \n\t\t\t<\/p>\n\t\t\t<p>\n\t\t\t\t<strong>Bob:<\/strong> \u2014time, and intentionality, and effort. You can\u2019t just think, \u201cOh, this will happen\u201d; right? \n\t\t\t<\/p>\n\t\t\t<p>\n\t\t\t\t<strong>Steve:<\/strong> No; that\u2019s right. It\u2019s not easy, but the rewards later\u2014I thought that these boys were an obligation that I had to fulfill to be married to Misty. They are two of the greatest <em>blessings<\/em> in my life. \n\t\t\t<\/p>\n\t\t\t<p>\n\t\t\t\t<strong>Dennis:<\/strong> Sometimes, it\u2019s good to go out to the end of a matter and just be reminded of the big picture. That\u2019s what the Book of 1 Peter does\u2014in Chapter 4, it says this: \n\t\t\t<\/p>\n\t\t\t<p>\n\t\t\t\t<strong>19:00<\/strong>\n\t\t\t<\/p>\n\t\t\t<p>\n\t\t\t\t<strong>\u00a0<\/strong>\n\t\t\t<\/p>\n\t\t\t<p>\n\t\t\t\t\u201cThe end of all things is at hand; therefore, be self-controlled and sober-minded for the sake of your prayers. Above all, keep loving one another earnestly, since love covers a multitude of sins.\u201d \n\t\t\t<\/p>\n\t\t\t<p>\n\t\t\t\t<strong>Steve:<\/strong> There you are. \n\t\t\t<\/p>\n\t\t\t<p>\n\t\t\t\t<strong>Dennis:<\/strong> Now, that\u2019s true of a blended family and\u2014\n\t\t\t<\/p>\n\t\t\t<p>\n\t\t\t\t<strong>Bob:<\/strong> \u2014true at our house! \n\t\t\t<\/p>\n\t\t\t<p>\n\t\t\t\t<strong>Misty:<\/strong> Yes. \n\t\t\t<\/p>\n\t\t\t<p>\n\t\t\t\t<strong>Dennis:<\/strong> \u2014my house as well! \n\t\t\t<\/p>\n\t\t\t<p>\n\t\t\t\t<strong>Misty:<\/strong> I sure need it. \n\t\t\t<\/p>\n\t\t\t<p>\n\t\t\t\t<strong>Dennis:<\/strong> I\u2019m just telling you\u2014some listeners today need to be reminded, \u201cLove covers a multitude of sins.\u201d I think Misty demonstrated the attitude, repeatedly, this week on the broadcast, talking about humbling down\u2014\n\t\t\t<\/p>\n\t\t\t<p>\n\t\t\t\t<strong>Bob:<\/strong> Yes. \n\t\t\t<\/p>\n\t\t\t<p>\n\t\t\t\t<strong>Dennis:<\/strong> \u2014bending your will toward the God of the universe and say, \u201cGod, I was wrong,\u201d and then stepping back up\u2014not wallowing in your mistake, and reliving it, and blaming and shaming yourself, but instead, go: \u201cYou know what?
