She was trained as medical doctor and board-certified psychiatrist, and spent her life ministering as a biblical counselor, author, speaker, and consultant through Gospel Balm Ministries. Laura was the author of <em>Finding Your Child\u2019s Way on the Autism Spectrum: Discovering Unique Strengths, Mastering Behavior Challenges<\/em>. She also coauthored two books: <em>Will Medicine Stop the Pain: Finding God\u2019s Healing for Anxiety, Depression, and Other Challenging Emotions<\/em>, with Elyse Fitzpatrick, and <em>When Good Kids Make Bad Choices: Help and Hope for Hurting Parents<\/em>, with Elyse Fitzpatrick and Jim Newheiser. A popular retreat and conference speaker, Laura loved sharing principles and encouragement from God\u2019s Word.
